Woops! is an American Post-apocalyptic sitcom that aired on the Fox network from September 27 to December 6, 1992.
The series centered around the six survivors of a world nuclear holocaust. The six of them live together in an abandoned farm house while trying to survive and re-establish civilization. One critic[who?] referred to Woops! as a “post apocalypse Gilligan’s Island”. Thirteen episodes were made, but only ten were aired before Fox canceled the series.[1]
I remember that show. It was horrible. Anyone remember Herman’s Head?
I do. Two of the voice actors from the Simpsons were on there. Lisa and Homer (?)
Oh yeah, that’s true. I even remember them making a joke about her sounding like Lisa once.
How could it be a horrible show if Fox canceled it? I thought they only canceled good shows.
No, they just cancel Family Guy six or seven times a season.
I’m still mad at Fox for cancelling Futurama and Sarah Connor Chronicles.
They do cancel crappy shows too, but often those shows are so crappy they should never have been aired to begin with.
My son would put Firefly at the top of the list of shows Fox was stupid to cancel.
I bought him the series on DVD for xmas.
Was Jericho on Fox? That was excellent, and it got canceled. Fan response brought it back for one more season, and it got canceled again. *disgruntled*
That was on CBS actually.
And then they kept that atrocity that starred the annoying and truly unamusing tall fellow with the miserable demeanor and the deep voice, and the irritating daughter of Eddie Fisher going waaaaay past its past due date. Fox, bah!

They have cranked up the moderation on naughty words, and the system can’t seem to distinguish between stand-alone words and words within other words. So, for example, we are now penising our pistols.

It can really trip you up. Took one person a long time to figure out that the word being moderated was the synonym for laughter that rhymes with and contains the n-word.

The voting page has gotten so bad lately that I voted “flag as inappropriate” more often than “win” or “fail” lately. The recent captioners are flat out disgusting. To the conservatrolls trying to vent their frustration at the fact that their party isn’t fvcking things up right now, posting 100 LOLs saying Obama gives people BJs or is some black stereotype is not actually funny. Ugh.
i think i voted win on only 1 LOL in the last few days. there’ve been a good number of offensive ones and a WHOLE LOT of fails…
I actually voted “win” on a couple kinda preachy ones just because I agreed with them after a string of really, really nasty conservatroll ones. I feel guilty about it now.
I did too……but nothing by you-know-who. It was my first time voting though, so I got really tired of hitting fail constantly and thought maybe I should hit win a couple of times at least.
I felt like I was rebelling against the conservatrolls by voting win on preachy pro-liberal LOLs. I think I actually voted win on ONE by you know who, proving that even he can hit the mark a solid 1% of the time.
I smiled at a couple of hers/his, but couldn’t bring myself to win them when I saw their name. If just felt…..unnatural and dirty.
i saw one of his that made me almost laugh… it was between meh and funny. but it just wasn’t FUNNY so i voted fail. there’s a lot of preaching and a lot of flat out offensive. there’s also been an influx in captions written in lolspeak. i’m thinking the kitties have spilled over to here and that’s to account for a lot of the crap stuff being made and then making it to the front page.
I’m trying to get caught up in the voting so maybe I can see how badly my LOLs are doing, and I just saw a bunch of them in LOLspeak. So bad I couldn’t even read them. On the other hand, I just voted Epic Win on a caption that diss did, and a couple that HelOnWheels did too, so there is hope.
I actually saw an amusing one for that billboard with “hitler + bush =” That was about I saw that was funny though.
