The later ones tend to be clever, often very clever, the earlier ones are generally much simpler – there is a definite trend, but all are excellent.

I adore Pratchett. My favorites are Thief of Time and Pyramids… Just finished Mort the other night and loved that one too.
I’ve read his Discworld novels at least three times each now*, so I might be misremembering which level of cleverness it appeared to have.

I have to say though, Last Hero is one of my favorites.
They also made a wonderful hogfather movie about two or three years ago that was very true to the book.
The Colour of Magic is rather an entertaining movie as well (based on the Colour of Magic and the Light Fantastic).
