Yeah, but none of them are in charge now!

  2. maddok says:

    /facepalm

Really? Are we stilling doing Bush pictures?

Anyhoo, Mr.Lincoln wasn’t so popular during his own reign. Repealing First Amendment rights will do that.

    • Now I’m picturing some future equivalent of PK in 2150 posting photos of George W. with captions about how “we just don’t have great leaders like this anymore!” Hmmm. :???:

      • charro says:

        Ewwwwww…… :-(

      • maddok says:

This is correct. He’s ranked something like 25 or 27 out of 44. Not quite the middle, but close.

See, the reason why I hate seeing Bush or Pailen jokes these days is cause neither are really in politics anymore and the jokes JUST AREN’T FUNNY.

      • Sqwirk says:

Wasn’t that the episode with the alternate future where everything went wrong?

      • The Amazing Rando says:

The problem is, Bush was a two-term president. Almost by default legacy-wise he gets sprung over a large number of virtual nobody one-term presidents. Which sucks, because I hate the turd.

        • FaileV says:

hm the dilemma of action vs inaction. I am of the opinion that those that have acted are worse than those that didn’t…unfortunately there’s the problem of action through inaction :P

I am curious who would be the worst president though…i don’t want troll flaming though T.T

          • bitter troll says:

            andrew jackson-nods-

          • Well, some quick research shows that historians generally believe the two presidents leading up to the Civil War (Pierce & Buchanan) are pretty near the bottom if not dead last. Andrew Johnson’s dismantling of Abe Lincoln’s reconstruction policies put him right at the bottom too. Also up for consideration, William Henry Harrison, who makes GWB look like a rocket scientist in comparison. Warren G. Harding’s corruption puts him next to dead last in a few polls too.

Universally high ranking presidents include the usual: Washington, Jefferson, both Roosevelts, Eisenhower, Truman, Wilson, and *shudder* Reagan.

            • Oh, and the link in the name refers to an article in The Washington Post where the writer thinks that Shrub really is the worst ever. ;)

            • maddok says:

Note that Truman was considered a poor leader during his own time, so extraordinarily unliked that the press printed a paper announcing his defeat the night before elections ended.

And why don’t you like Reagan? The man who, along with Thacher and John Paul II, toppled communism, ended rampant inflation, and had a forty-nine state landslide?

              • Roguefemme says:

Yeah, and he handled the whole AIDS situation so well too. Why fund research and public education on a rising plague when you can just deny, deny, deny?

              • firefly says:

And he kept his campaign promise: He did for the country what he did for California: He trebled the debt…

            • Torus2112 says:

Fascinating, too bad it took so long for Reagan’s awfulness to kick in, therefore getting Bush blamed for it. He did his fair share, but all this crap started with Reagan.

              • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

I see, it just skipped right over 8 wonderful years of Clinton? How convenient. Do you know how stupid that sounds?

                • Torus2112 says:

He was kept down by a republican congress, and what policies he was able to pass began reversing the trend, providing the only positive budget in the last 30 years. You walked right into it.

                  • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

HAHAHHAHAHAHHHAA!! Thanks for the laugh, funny how those things only count when it’s Republicans in charge, isn’t it?

                    • No1askedme says:

I like how YOU only think it counts when democrats are in charge! Do you not see your own hypocrisy?

                      • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

So, who ruined the US economy? Was it Clinton with his republican congress, or Bush with his democrat congress. Are you listening to yourself?

                      • No1askedme says:

I dunno who caused it for sure, and frankly I don’t really care. All I know is that something needs to be done, and I saw no intent from McCain that differed from Obama’s current strategy. Obama just is throwing in some social reform along with it. All we can do is wait and see how it pans out, there’s no sense complaining about it, he’s the president and nothing is going to change that anytime soon.

                    • ReligionIsDumb says:

if you would care to examine the facts, you would see a simple fact. During Clinton’s years, the economy steadily grew AND the deficit was low (and even non-existent sometimes). During the Bush years, the deficit was incredibly high and we saw a large economic crash. During the reagan years, the economy was ok, but the deficits were huge. The only one of the last 3 presidents to have both a stable growing economy AND a balanced budget was Clinton. You may not have liked his social policies, but you can’t fault his economic policies. The results are plain to see, and those that try to argue flaws in his policies despite the obvious results are grasping at straws to support their demented pre-conceived (and erroneous) notion that democrats are horrible for the economy. Republicans, of late, can’t seem to balance the stinking budget. They spend too much and refuse to raise taxes and the country gets farther into debt making it such that, at some point, in order to balance the budget, a democrat will have to raise taxes again. One would think that all these TEA people would realize that the only way to reduce taxes is to reduce the ridiculous amount of money we pay in interest on all our debt and vote for democrats who at least have a track record of moderating the deficit if not eliminating it. IMO, we should have a 1% budget surplus every year that we should be using to pay down our national debt. Until the republicans get their fiscal heads out of their asses, they won’t be getting my vote.

                      • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Problem with raising taxes is that once they are raised they stay raised. By reducing taxes and increasing business activity you increase revenues overall. You don’t need to raise taxes but you could stop the ridiculous spending, and yes the Republicans are to blame here too.

                      • Matt Scheaffer says:

And who has caused the worst deficit? Your golden boy hero Obama.

                      • Torus2112 says:

Bush created the worst deficit. I’m sick of this, come to me with your criticisms of Obama in 8 years. Hell, he’s already tied with Bush in terms of positive change.

Also, The point of raising taxes is to keep them there, they were put there for a reason. You don’t raise taxes everywhere, you have high taxes here, low taxes there. This stimulates what you want to stimulate and dampens what needs dampening and, oh yeah, provides money for the gov’t to do things for you.

                      • CyanEyed says:

                        ^this guy is profoundly mistaken.
1stly: obama has budgeted, like, 10 trillion dollars in deficit spending, just since he became president…
2ndly: raising taxes suppresses growth, always. for example, new york has really high taxes, and businesses are leaving to go to florida in droves, just to escape the taxes. This is not good for anyone.

              • randman83 says:

Couldn’t the same be said for Roosevelt? I’m sure he created the social security system and welfare state with the best of intentions, but it was just plain short sightedness that has now resulted in a near bankrupt program that is the second largest tax consumer next to national defense. It was just ignorant to think that workers vs. retirees populations would not fluctuate and lead to massive taxing of people paying into social security. In the 30’s, the taxing broke down like this; for every 1 retiree, there was approx. 40 workers paying their social security. Now, that number has dropped drastically to 2 workers for every retiree. The baby boom kinda screwed us over.

                • Torus2112 says:

It’s true the actual structure of SS is unsustainable if you look at it as a source of neutral or positive revenue, but as a service it is proper. The same goes for the rest of the New Deal, nobody on the Left (if they’re serious) is saying that things don’t cost money, or that there’s any other way than tax to get said money. The point is it’s worth it, and it works, but you need the whole package. Tax cuts, deregulation, and all the other stuff right wingers love cause the problems that they themselves cite when they want to do more damage, it’s a slippery slope.

BTWPPSBBQ, I had no idea about 2112, it was derived from my favourite number, 21, but that was too common. Still, i’ll take it. (Rush, right?)

                  • CyanEyed says:

Well, you are mistaken on at least one point. When talking about this monstrosity of a health care bill, people ARE saying it’s not going to cost money, and will in fact SAVE money. No one believes them, but they are saying it.

                    • Torus2112 says:

It will save money in the long run by streamlining the system and preventing the financial ruin of patients. It will cost money now, but is good later. Trouble is, the public latch on to sound bites even surrounded by a sea of important details, so it’s easier to say HC IZ LES $$$ PERIOD and get to work. For every “distortion” from the left resulting from their feeble marketing skills I’ll give you three LIES from the Right. Get over it.

                      • CyanEyed says:

Umm, how is that even possible? How could something become cheaper over time? There’s no ‘introductory’ cost, you just start paying into it, like social security, and, like social security, it will only get more expensive over time, as more people need medical care.

                      • randman83 says:

All taxes, if left to follow their natural course, will increase over time. SS has increased due to senior citizen increase. Welfare costs have increased due to more people trying to take advantage of government programs. The thing that government doesn’t understand is what taxes are really for. Taxes are solely for raising money. We have so many taxes that are meant to sway us into doing certain things; taxes to keep us from buying alcohol and tobacco, taxes to encourage us to buy houses and start a family. It’s wrong that the gov uses taxes as a reward or a punishment, when all they should be used for is raising money for defense, roads, police, etc. Keep gov involvement limited to roads, police, defense, courts and corruption. Leave compassion to the people who actually have some.

    • No1askedme says:

      @ Maddok
Lincoln was unpopular only in the southern states, who were afraid of him for no clear reason. He was personally against slavery, but he said many times ho wouldn’t ban it, and when he did it was only to weaken the Confederacy. Also, he suspended the whole Constitution for a brief period of time so he could prevent Maryland (I think it was Maryland, maybe it was Delaware?) from seceding and surrounding D.C. I can’t hold that against him, I would have done the same in his position.

      • ay dios mio says:

No man A LOT of people hated him for making them fight in what they considered a “rich man’s war.” They didn’t care about slavery and hated they fact that Lincoln made them fight for it.

        • viking gal says:

And the abolutionists weren’t happy with him, because he didn’t ban slavery. And when he signed the Emancipation Proclamation, it only applied to the states of the Confederacy.

      • Justacarolinian says:

There was a documentary on the History Channel last night, and there were threatening letters by the hundreds, not from the south, but the north.

      • maddok says:

So… the South didn’t like Lincoln for any particular reason? Didn’t he declare war on them?

        • Roguefemme says:

No, they tried to secede from the Union because of economic bickering with the North. Lincoln told them they wouldn’t get out without a fight. That’s why you’ll sometimes see the confederates referred to as “secessionists”.

  3. BADABUK says:

    he cheney was skinny? xD

  4. liberals are tools says:

Well, they’re all REPUBLICANS and not from the slave party, HOW ironic!

So…Bush ran up a trillion dollar deficit in EIGHT YEARS and he’s bad, Yobama triples it in 6 months and he’s good…you people have your heads so far up your ass it just mind boggling. What does he have to do for you to get it, come right out and announce he’s a communist who wants to destroy the country? You’d probably still jerk off to him. pathetic!

    • VictoryNotVengeance says:

Sucks to be in the minority doesn’t it? Enough to lash out? Need a hug?

      • Even as a card carrying Republican I’m not touching it.. you wanna give it a hug, be my guest.

      • randman83 says:

Definitely bitter. However, let us not assume that all people who aren’t happy about Obama are just pissed because they lost. Many people genuinely don’t agree with his politics and ideas. If we were to just give up and not say anything if we lose, that would just defeat the point of our political system. That system works because there is constant input from hundreds of facets, and just giving up would take away that differing opinion, and then we would see what actual oppression is.

        • The Amazing Rando says:

What’s wrong with giving him a chance to see if his ideas work? You might not like them now, but maybe you’ll love them in a few months, or a year or two or whatever. We haven’t actually seen any of the results from anything he’s done yet.

          • randman83 says:

I am definitely open to new ideas, but one such as this will either succeed tremendously or fail tremendously. It will either provide a beneficial outcome that is an acceptable allocation of our taxes, or it will be another unnecessary drain on them. I want, more than anything else in this world, people to just consider consequences. If they want to pass nationalized healthcare, fine, but they need to consider the consequences of doing so, because just doing something because it feels right just doesn’t seem like a good tactic. If it is passed, the tax rate will increase (according to the bill which I currently have open) by around 2.5%. However, because many people cannot pay this tax, there is a provision that states that the Secretary in charge of the entire public option entity can adjust tax rates based on geographical and demographic changes at any time. This is an incredible power given to someone we don’t vote for, so we just need to weigh the consequences, intended and unintended.

Out of here for the weekend, probably. Have a good one, everyone!

    • bitter troll says:

atleast bitter troll is a big tool-nods-

    • The Amazing Rando says:

I’ll say what I keep saying. Those of you who enjoy calling Obama a socialist or even worse, a communist, are showing your ignorance. Clearly you have no idea what a real socialist or communist is. It’s just a buzz word that Uncle Rush gave you to use, and like good frothy sheeple you made sure to attack those who aren’t like you. And what’s with the Yobama think? I don’t get that. Is that an insult? If it is, it’s a really lame one.

    • Odumba says:

They like communism… It’s years of indoctination in goverment run schools (*cough* Democrat *cough*)

      • bitter troll says:

because the goverment is totally controled by eeeeevil democrates, who have been plotting the mindwashing of childrens for generation. with eeeeeevil things like science and evolution, its clear man once walked with the dinosause, palin saw a picture of it on the interwebz once somewhere

      • OMG, you’re right! Quick, get the militia together and get to the underground bunkers! The black helicopters are overhead!! Viva la revolution!!!!

      • The Amazing Rando says:

Wait…years of indoctrination by communists…but Bush was running the show for the last 8 years…OMG Bush is a commie?!?

        • Danbala says:

Schools are inherently commie no matter what. Teachers obviously don’t become teachers to get rich, and if your goal in life isn’t to become rich… Ta-daa – commie you are!

          • The Amazing Rando says:

You’d think we all this indoctrination going on, we’d have far more communists coming out of public schools here in the US than we do. Odd, really.

            • wallFly says:

if you’re talking about indoctrinations or brain washing, i’d say there’s more of that going on in the religious side of things than the educational system. i’m just sayin’…. all this fear of brainwashing and indoctrination i think is just them projecting their subconscious fears onto everything around them.

              or they’re idiots.

    • odumbaday says:

A lie? No. An underestimation. From what I hear on the news, Odumba quadrupled the debt. Bills passed in congress under Obama are attributable to him, as he not only supports them and pushes for them, he is also backed by a large majority Democrat congress which is voting for them. The economy is in crisis because of the mortgage meltdown, which is attributable to the Democrats who forced banks to make loans to individuals unqualified for them. Of course, they failed to keep up their payments and the resulting crash in real estate caused this mess, not deregulation..The federal govenment via Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac is now responsible for 90 percent of mortgages in the US. That is not a deregulation problem, its a big government problem. Bush tricked you and the Democrats? Doesn’t say much for you does it? At least from your estimation of him. Finally, passing the bailout and the so-called stimulus packages will end up bailing out all the businesses that took bad risks and should fail. The failure of some is what keeps others from making those same mistakes. That is how a market economy works, when we let it. McCain was a poor candidate, primarily because he was willing to work with the Democrats. In the end he probably would have done us (Republicans) more harm than good. But the harm Obama is causing to this country may take decades to fix, if we are that lucky.

      • The Amazing Rando says:

Someone has been listening to Fox.
Oh, and let’s face facts, people. Quit bitching about the debt. It ain’t never gonna get paid off. Let it the fvck go.

          • The Amazing Rando says:

Do you really think everything is going to be as doom and gloom as you act? It seems rather melodramatic to me.

            • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Do you remember the 1970’s? I do, gas lines, double digit inflation, double digit mortgage rates, a president that wore a sweater, it was pretty horrible.

              • No1askedme says:

Blame the corporations you love so much for that. Everyone knows OPEC did that with their artificial inflation of gas prices. If you refuse to acknowledge that you really must live in a fantasy world.

                • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Our corporations made OPEC inflate gas prices? Oookaaaaay… Hey I know what? How about letting us drill our own oil and gas so we don’t have to depend on them!? When’s all this green stuff gonna start up, so we can get off oil?

      • charro says:

Yes.. The democrats went into banks, held guns to the loan officers’ heads and said “LOAN THOSE POOR PEOPLE MONEY!”. How did you figure it out?

        • lowly grunt says:

Nah, I think that was people seeing ways to make a crapton of money regarldless of who was in power and started it.

          They should rot.

        • odumbaday says:

No, the Democrats went into banks and told them that if they didnt loan to these unqualified buyers that it would take them to court. The same way the state usually gets their way, they have all the time in the world to harass you and they dont have to turn a profit. There was a case like that in Baltimore, first they forced them to make these loans, then when the mortgage market bottomed out, the city of Baltimore accused the same bank of making predatory loans.

          • No1askedme says:

Utter drek. That NEVER happened. Mr. Bush’s deregulation allowed them to make loans to people they knew couldn’t afford it so they would default on their loans and the banks could take everything they owned for quicker money. Obviously that was a stupid idea in the long run, but that’s what businesses do unless you keep them in a stranglehold; they fvck everyone over. Oh, wait, you neo-cons don’t care because people aren’t real people to you unless they’re rich. Silly me, I forgot about that.

            • The Amazing Rando says:

Oh, but didn’t you know, No1? Businesses are really looking out for everyone’s best interests and if we let them regulate themselves, they’ll do the right thing for sure. They would NEVER screw anyone over for a quick buck when the government isn’t looking.

        • charro sweetie, everyone knows democrats dont use the guns

          • bad fairie says:

thanks, my monitor needed cleaned ;)
who says we don’t use guns, we own ‘em, we use ‘em, we just don’t take them to political rallies where the prez is going to be

      • No1askedme says:

If that’s what we have to pay to keep the “religious right” nutters out of office, so be it. You neo-cons are so obsessed about the national debt and “socialism” you seem to have forgotten that the previous administration essentially ignored the constitution and lied its way into a war! I don’t think McCain would have been any different, he buckled under party pressure just like Mr. Bush did. So stop obsessing over relatively trivial things and open your eyes! The republican party is not anyones friend!

    • URINE IDIOT! says:

President Barack Obama proposed his 2010 budget during February, 2009. He has indicated that health care, clean energy, education, and infrastructure will be priorities. The proposed increases in the national debt exceed $900 billion each year from 2010-2019, following a $2.5 trillion increase in the national debt for FY 2009, more than twice the record $1 trillion increase in 2008.[56]

    • FaileV says:

it’s true this country is full of fools. In fact there’s even some so moronic they refer to the president as “Yobama”
Whether or not you disagree with the man and his policy, the man deserves respect, that goes for bush as well (despite how much it pains me to say it)

      • odumbaday says:

Nope, respect is earned, not deserved.

        • FaileV says:

because winning an election and dedicating yourself to the service of the people is nothing. Sure some do a spectacularly terrible job, but it is intent which earns respect, and i’m sure if they really wanted to do harm they would have picked a different sort of job. CEO maybe

          • odumbaday says:

We would do much better if we had far fewer “dedicating” themselves to public service. As a public servant, his work will result in the loss of millions of jobs and a depression that wont end until he is out of office. Why doesnt he dedicate himself to starting a business and creating a few jobs, instead spending his whole life on the public dole?

            • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Because he’s dedicated himself to ending businesses, or at least putting them in they’re rightful place. The government wants to be the BIG DOG now. They want all the dough and all the power and they will throw us a few donuts here and there but eventually it will all come crashing down because government does not create money, they only take money.

              • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

                THEIR rightful place…

              • bad fairie says:

so just out of curiosity, who owns/runs the us mint where money is made?

                • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Money is not MADE in the mint, it is printed. The real wealth is created by businesses, they make stuff and we buy it, they hire us and pay us, we save and spend. Get it?

                  • bad fairie says:

well i don’t know about you, but my money was made (oops, printed or stamped if it’s coinage) at the us mint and the gov’t does determine how much is in circulation – too much and you get deflation, not enough and you get inflation. furthermore, it’s not necessary to speak to me like such a twit – you’re not very good at it

                    • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

What are you talking about? You are the one with the cute “who owns the mint?” questions. And you say I am condescending to you? Wow. I thought I was quite restrained in my response. Deciding how much money goes into circulation means absolutely nothing, it’s only paper! It has no meaning, it is only a form of exchange. The real wealth comes from the people, businesses and what they produce. Which is, unfortunately for us, not much these days…

                      • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

The government may print legal tender but it does not produce any real wealth. You can’t eat it, there has to be food to buy. Only hard work, making and selling a product produces wealth, ie business. The government takes wealth away, and all it wants to do is grow and grow and take more control. I never made any comments about your intelligence. Sorry if you had assumed that.

                      • No1askedme says:

There is a balancing act the government plays with businesses. You’re both partially correct. Businesses give money its value, but only the government can keep money not based on any real value (IE the gold standard) stable. Without the government to keep inflation and deflation under control, money would be impractical because its value would swing back and forth violently. We’d be forced back into a barter system, not that there’s anything inherently wrong with that…

        • Then GWB deserves twice the amount of ridicule he’s been given so far. He has done nothing to earn my respect. The same goes for your conservative god Reagan.

Didnt Odumba accuse Bill Clinton of being racist? What party is Bill in? Odumba couldn’t even make it through his inauguration ceremony without having one of his buds make some racist remarks. Then again, who hasnt been accused of being racist? It doesnt mean anything anymore.

        • No1askedme says:

No, he didn’t. Obama has never accused anyone of being a racist, except maybe his former pastor. As for other democrats making racist remarks, yeah, some of them are real pricks, but at least they don’t constantly rail on the jews and muslims like some of your oh-so-tolerant republican senators. Or have you conveniently forgotten that already?

          • odumbaday says:

You do know Clinton said Obama called him a racist…speaking of anti-Jew rhetoric who is this Jimmy Carter guy?

            • No1askedme says:

Not talking about Carter, nor am I defending him. I’ve seen plenty of republican senators railing on “the jews in hollywood” who “love abortions” and “hate families”. I’ve seen it often enough I know you MUST have, don’t redirect the question dumbass. Clinton is entitled to his opinion, although I doubt he actually said anything like that and you’re almost certainly taking things out of context, but that doesn’t necessarily make him correct. I thought all liberals are liars who can never be trusted, or is that only when they say things you don’t like?

            • PortlandMark says:

So, if we don’t think that The Holocaust justifies Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians, that makes us anti-semitic? Believing that all people should have the right to be safe in their own homes, regardless of some accident of history, means we hate Jews?

Be careful: if you’re a European-American and hold these beliefs, I’d like you to sell your belongings to your nearest Native American neighbor and move back to Europe.

            • Allie says:

LOL, where’d you get that? I’m intolerant of those who deliberately lie to the masses whenever they speak, is that wrong? Sure all politicians lie sometimes, but ALL news networks do it constantly! You’re best off just stopping watching the news all together. Even the BBC has a liberal slant, and they’re not even operating from this country! I’m not attacking FOX news (although they are the most blatant offender in this case), I’m attacking all news media. Stop trying to put words in my mouth!

            • wallFly says:

not to burst your bubble there odumbaday – the media is controlled, our country is full of intolerant bigots and you’re one of them and, believe it or not, the conservative approach to things has been one of the reasons for controlling the media! omg! tv ratings, ratings on games, age limits on theater admittance, credit cards, renting movies, purchasing premium channels even that parental control on the interwebs – all forms of controlling the media.

i’m not sure where you live that’s totally uncontrolled but it sure as hell ain’t the u.s. – i mean, hell, on most aspects of TV europe has less censorship than the US.

No liberal or communist. You’re also Engrish – only English speaking people are allowed in America, remember? Because it was always an English country since the beginning of time? Pathetic little demon.

Also, this is a REPUBLIC, we don’t want your COMMUNISM and we never will. We like freedom. So take that shove it up were your head obviously is.

      • maddok says:

So, as Bush is walking through an airport, he spies Moses. What the hell Moses is doing there, I dunno, but he’s there.

Bush walks towards Moses and tries to talk to him. But Moses keeps ignoring him, walking away, interrupting him, and so forth.

George loses his temper and shouts:
“WHY WON’T YOU TALK TO ME!?!!!!?”

        Moses turns and says:
“Do you have any idea of the amount of crap the last bush I talked to got me in?”

I think by trouble he meant that whole wandering through the desert for 40 years and dying before he got to see the promised land.

            • Justacarolinian says:

But the bush didn’t cause that. The bush was speaking to Moses. That was before he went to Egypt.

              • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Listen, I know religion and Bush are two things you don’t like seeing mocked, but the connection is clean, and clear. I don’t really know what else to say.

                • Justacarolinian says:

That you are wrong? On more than one account. I have never said I don’t like Bush being made fun of. Matter of a fact, I have don’t it more than once myself. In a video I made about the election, in several LOLs here.
The burning bush never spoken to the people of Israel. It sent Moses into Egypt. The people got into trouble for their disobedience and disbelief once they got out there. They were right at the point of the promised land, and began to doubt and listen to Kora and Dathan. You know, the big massive orgy and the golden calf thing?

                  • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

The joke’s not talking about Isreal. The joke is talking about Moses, who was told by god (through the burning bush) to go get his people out of Egypt, which was the start of Moses troubles. THAT’S what the joke is saying, I’m not sure where you pulled Isreal into this.

                    • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Israel* on both accounts where I misspelled them.

                    • Justacarolinian says:

Just correcting you on the wandering 40 years thing. The bush didn’t cause that. Not for Moses, or the Israelis.
Now the joke says the crap Moses got into, ok. Debatable.
But you said it caused the wandering, and it clearly did not.
I would imagine that Moses is quite content with the journey he went through. The only crap was the people he had to put up with.
What you are saying is kind of like saying that giving birth to a child means a lot of crap…… To some it is, and to others not. They consider it a wonderful experience.

                      • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

You’re reaching here Justa, and you should probably just sit back and say “ok you’re right.”
Here goes: Moses talked to the burning bush giving him a charge to lead God’s people to the promised land from out of Egypt. Regardless of what the Jews did to cause the wandering, Moses held to his charge given to him by the burning bush. Had the bush left it at “Get them out of Egypt” then fine, you’d be right, but he was tasked with getting them to the promised land. Despite who started what troubles he faced during that time, the FACT remains that the BUSH started it all by giving him the charge.
It’s a joke, you’re taking it too seriously and have since made me take it too seriously.
The bush gave Moses the charge, the charge was lengthy, filled with trials, and resulted in Moses dying even before he fully achieved it. No matter if Satan himself set up a tollbooth in the middle of the desert and wanted only exact change, the result would still be the same, the START of Moses’ troubles was the bush.
I can’t make it any more clear than that.

                        • Justacarolinian says:

I said it was funny, remember that part? Obviously not. And all the bush told him WAS “Get them out of Egypt.” All the rest came at Mt Sinai .
Ok, it started with the bush, I already said that. I get the joke. I said that too.
The wondering didn’t come from the burning bush. That would be like saying someones death came because you told them to meet you in the park, and they got in an accident along the way. I think you presumed a lot about what I was saying, based on the false idea that I am a Bush supporter.

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

I’m not running around in circles. You clearly stated the joke was wrong… it’s not and you proceeded to argue with me about THAT FACT.
Quite frankly I don’t really care because at this point, you obviously don’t have an argument since you backed out of the one you made previously. The Joke: The Bush GOT HIM INTO TROUBLE.
Your argument: The Bush DID NOT GET HIM INTO TROUBLE.
I presumed nothing but the bush support, which still does not make your argument any less invalid, especially now that you’ve redacted it.

                        • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

The bush did not get him into the trouble, the bush was trying to HELP him. The Israelites are the ones that made the trouble. But it’s still a funny joke.

                        • Justacarolinian says:

You’re a tard. You stated that I didn’t like religion or bush being mocked.
I said it was wrong on the level of disrespect. Then stated that the bush didn’t get them into trouble. Listening to Kora and Dathan, yeah. Not the bush.
You missed it totally. I didn’t take anything back. I said in the beginning that the joke could be understood as funny. But it is wrong. Smart off all you want. I know you have too. Just got to let that pressure off.

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

I haven’t smarted off, and you’re the only one flinging insults. You’re missing keywords in the joke, and therefore are missing the whole interpretation. The joke refers to Moses. A singular human being. I have NO idea where you’re getting this “Them” from.
You admit to the bush sending Moses to Egypt, yet you’re refuting that the bush started Moses troubles. It’s the law of causality: Had the bush not sent Moses to Egypt (which was an endeavor on its own) he never would have had the other troubles that were caused later, by various other individuals.
End of story, You can insult me, you can flame me, you deny it all you want, but causality states the bush started Moses troubles by sending him to Egypt, end of story.
Feel free to argue with that fact till you’re blue in the face, I know you have to. Just got to let that pressure off.

                        • Justacarolinian says:

I see you completely ignored your first comment that I don’t like Bush or religion being mocked. That is why I called you a tard.
And I already stated the car ride to the park thing.
How about this way? You are on your way to work this morning, and get squished by a big truck. That makes it the bosses fault, right? No.
I said that I understood the humor. Go ahead, mock, and scoff.
The “Them” came in as the behavior of the individuals who actually caused the trouble. Can I buy you a cup of coffee to help you get awake?

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

“your first comment that I don’t like Bush or religion being mocked. That is why I called you a tard.”
Calling me a tard shows your infinite wisdom and patience, just like your lord Jesus eh? Way to shed a good light on your beliefs. Stay Classy and a good example for Christianity.
“How about this way? You are on your way to work this morning, and get squished by a big truck. That makes it the bosses fault, right? No.”
The law of Causality disagrees which is what this is about. Had you not been going to work, or called in sick, you would have not been on the road to be hit by that truck. That’s how it works.

It’s over, leave it alone. I already offered peace. We can disagree and leave it at that.

Here, take a good cup of coffee with you as you go. And keep in mind that I stated and opinion, and you responded, and started this on a false note.
And try that debating thing without the insults yourself. I do read here too. For a while. Something you’ve failed to do. Often.

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Mmm, I didn’t insult you at all until my second to last post. I ALWAYS refrain from it in a serious debate. If I start off with insults, I’m not taking the debate seriously. And that’s sound info you can go back and look into. Hell I’ve even (tried to) have had debates with Anniee without insulting her… but you can only have so many unprovoked slaps in the face before you start slapping back.
And once again, keep the coffee, I don’t need it.

                        • Justacarolinaian says:

Maybe that’s the problem. You you started off too serious. And you did insult me right from the start. I know, you don’t consider that an insult. Ok.
Does the coffee make you grumpy?

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Wait a minute… Anniee is the only right winger that can actually make me fail my debate protocol….
She spouts venom and insults like they’re actual points to an argument… and I can’t stand her. She’s a highly intelligent female with a horribly skewed vision of the world who clings to Neo-con views on politics….

Well I could have been serious, or I could have been insulting by using cynicism and being dismissive.
I figured you would have appreciated it more, if I was being serious.
And no, coffee doesn’t make me grumpy, quite opposite actually. It causes kidney problems with extended usage, and it’s absolutely horrible for the lining of your stomach. I’m under doctor’s orders to never take Ibuprofen because of previous stomach problems I’ve had. So coffee would be an ulcer waiting to happen.

                        • Justacarolinaian says:

Now there’s something we can agree on. I joke about it, but avoid coffee to 3-4 pots a year. I have the hereditary acid reflux disease. That and while I can drink caffeine in tea and soda all day long (in extreme amounts) coffee hypes me up with just 2 cups. I get to where I can feel my hair grow.
For the record, I think we both missed a thing or two due to the lack of body language. I was simply stating that it WAS funny, but that I don’t see it as technically correct.
And if I saw you with a flat tire on the side of the road, I would stop. Watching people work is fun. (Ok, sense of humor. God gave me 2 talents. A sense of humor, and being butt ugly)

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

There’s no need to stop, I have AAA… two people staring at the guy changing my tire might make him want to swing a tire iron… especially with me being the kind of person I am saying “So which part of the tire you’re replacing is the transmission?”

                        • Justacarolinaian says:

I am a transmission mechanic, so I could explain that too you. And share my Pepsid AC.
One thing that helped me back down to just over the counter stuff? Eating hot peppers and such. It hurt at first, but then seemed like it punished my stomach into obedience.
Can we blame the transmission for the flat, after all, it was sending the power out to the wheels? Or would that be the engine, since it’s the source of the power?
Nah, blame your boss again. He hired you…..
                          (Laugh it up Fuzzball)

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Oh I know how the transmission works. Ive got my great big “Dismantle and rebuild your vehicle” book. I just have AAA for the towing aspect, cause towing can be expensive, and they pay for your new tire if you get a flat when it gets changed so… why not?
And keep those Pepcids away! I used to chew nearly a full 24 tablet bottle in one day before my doc finally got a hold of me.
I have something that makes acid reflux seem like indigestion. My stomach produces an abundance of over acidic gastric fluid that left unchecked, causes the bottom of my stomach to inflame, clogging the exit. Naturally my body’s response isn’t to back off and wait an hour or two… no… my body’s response? “MORE F*CKING ACID NOW!!”
I’m currently taking a prescription that regulates my acid production… though I’ve always wondered that if I stop taking my prescription whether or not I can get awesome acid spitting like the Aliens ™ have in the movies. That’d be awesome, and incredibly handy for work too…
*shifty eyes* Pardon me… I have to go to the bathroom to flush- eh.. take my meds..

                        • Justacarolinaian says:

I KNOW that feeling. Usually about 3am. And I did the prescription thing. You have 100% total sympathy from me.
My dad is still on the prescription thing, and is maxed out. And still in pain. On reason why I decided to do my best to get off them. And I can actually take Ibuprofen now. Good thing, as Uncle Aurthur visits more often, the older I get.
Seriously, I started out with Texas Pete Hot Pepper Vinegar on greens. (Try TP on salad.) And worked my way up. I get heartburn 2-3 times a month, usually controlled by Pepsid.
I will pray for that stomach. God, I remember that sick feeling.

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

God has no mercy on my stomach, for my stomach renounced it’s faith years ago after an “Angelfood cake incident”. Luckily, since I’ve been taking my medication I can eat whatever I want, and if I get a hint of any problems I have another on the spot medication I can take that flushes my stomach, which I haven’t had to use but once, and that was after my ex made enchiladas… she followed a recipe that called for a certain cup amount of chile peppers, which she didn’t have so after taking that first bite, she tells me “So I didn’t have the chile peppers the recipe called for, so I substituted with chile powder…”
When I asked how much she said “However much I was supposed to put in for the peppers.” Cup and a half….
                          A friggin cup… and a half of chile powder….

                  Well there is this:
This year, 2009, President Obama, decided to cancel the ceremony for the National Day of Prayer at the White House. The reason… not wanting to offend anyone.

On September 25, 2009 from 4am until 7pm, a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion will be held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House.

                  I’m just sayin’

                  • odumba says:

Oh, apparently Gaddafi has adopted him…

                    • Not that I have an issue with Muslims as a whole, but if the people won’t vote in a Mormon, you think they’re going to vote in a Muslim?

                      • viking gal says:

Is it that they won’t vote for a Mormon, or they won’t vote for Mitt Romney? Massachusetts voted for Romney once, and they learned from their mistake!

                      • The Amazing Rando says:

I think it’s a little of both, VG. But if Obama had been a Muslim, I seriously doubt he would’ve so much as made it past the primaries.

                      • Truth! Look at all the abuse JFK copped because he was Catholic. I’m of the opinion no matter how qualified you are, or how great your record is, if you don’t claim to be mainstream Christian, you probably aren’t going to get elected. It’s a shame really, as I’m sure there are people of other faiths besides Christian that could do an excellent job as president.

                  • Begoniac says:

The National Day of Prayer went on as scheduled May 7, on the west lawn of the Capitol. The only difference is that Obama decided not to participate publicly. He did, however, issue a proclamation in which he “call[ed] upon Americans to pray in thanksgiving for our freedoms and blessings and to ask for God’s continued guidance, grace, and protection for this land that we love.”)

The Muslim Prayer Day also took place on the Capitol grounds, which are not “beside the White House”.

                    • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz says:

Yea, I guess he couldn’t really cancel it if he was going to allow a wholly separate MUSLIM prayer day on the Capital grounds could he? When do we EVER on ANY government property have a CHRISTIAN prayer day? Hmmm? Can you tell me that? Oh and about that MUSLIM prayer day, do you think they even took out one minute to condemn the recent and past terrorists who say they are acting under the Koran? No, they did not, nor do they ever intend to in my opinion.

                      • Begoniac says:

Hello? The National Prayer Day was held on gov’t property.

btw, Bush 41 and Reagan each hosted the event only once each during their 8-years in office. You must have kept very busy condemning them for that.

                      • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Oh, I’m sorry, was that the national CHRISTIAN prayer day? Was that not meant too include ALL religions?

                      • Begoniac says:

                        From their official web site:

                        Mission
The National Day of Prayer Task Force’s mission is to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, mobilizing the CHRISTIAN community to intercede for America and its leadership in the seven centers of power: Government, Military, Media, Business, Education, Church and Family.

                      • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Well, that is kind of dumb. We will now need to have a prayer day for every kind of religion… They should combine them, after all most religions have some concept of prayer, or at least the major religions…

        • Heh. Like the Republicans have anyone worthwhile in the wings to take him down in 2012. Once we rebound from this rough start, things will get better and it’ll be smooth sailing to 2nd term. Don’t get too butthurt when the country gets better, I know you’ll be sad when it does.

          • No1askedme says:

Hmm, they might get McCain elected if they actually allow him to campaign based on his actual views. I doubt that would ever happen though, the republican party likes the president to be their tool. I’m actually really hoping they run Palin in 2012. Not only would it be hilarious, but it might be the thing that gets the real conservatives to finally jump ship and form their own political party, essentially stranding the “religious right” wingnuts politically.

          • And you know what’s really funny? Things could (and hopefully they will) turn around, people could prosper (even us evil Republicans) and there will still be people butthurt over Obama being elected. Frankly, I hope it does turn around and Obama can get the economy back on track.

            • The Amazing Rando says:

I think there are at least some people butthurt enough about Obama that they hope the economy DOES continue to fail just so they can keep blaming him. Our resident trolls, for example. And when it does improve (because it will, it’s not an if), I’m sure they will say it’s because of leprechauns riding unicorns before they give the current administration any credit.

What did he accomplish, pray tell? Besides, do you see Obama writing this stuff? No, he has no involvement whatsoever with this sort of thing. Besides, is it so wrong to like the president?! Very few people actually see the world the way you do you ignorant ass, so GET OVER YOURSELF.

P.S. I personally find Obama’s policies to be remarkably short-sighted. I’m not some sort of “Obomaniac”, I hate those people as much as any rational person. I don’t like either party’s politics, but at least the Democrats don’t cater to fascists.

                        • odumbaday says:

The Soviets were able to sustain their military spending until Brezhnev’s administration, when they could not even keep food in the stores. JFK, however, could have done much more to make them collapse. But Khrushchev understood that JFK just wasnt very mature or very bright and took advantage of it. He out thought Kennedy at every turn. There is a great tape of Kennedy turning to Eisenhower for advice on how to deal with Khrushchev during the so-called missile crisis and Eisenhower breaking up laughing at Kennedy’s naivete.

The price of freedom is high, but in the end it is worth the suffering. I’m glad we forced the Soviets government to collapse. I’m not sure at all that it caused countless deaths, but if it did, they weren’t senseless.

What makes you think it would have been better completely destroy their government, therefore destroying all economic infrastructure and causing anarchy, even though it was crumbling and no longer threat to us? People are entitled to their own ideologies, we have no right to kill them because they think differently. You obviously have no idea of what America was founded on, and you make me sick. The terrorists didn’t harm our economy in any way, deregulation and war did. Also, they weren’t “Islamic terrorists”, they were Islamic EXTREMIST terrorists that were funded by the U.S. during the cold war. Please get a clue.

Instead, we cornered him in the mountains of AFGHANISTAN, Bush made up some half-assed lies about Iraq being linked to 9/11 and “WMDs”, we LEFT BEFORE CAPTURING THE REAL BAD GUY, and WE got ourselves embroiled in a pointless quagmire that even Bush Sr. said was an impractical war when he had more of an upper hand than we did 7 years ago when this whole mess started.

That’s not even funny. I suggest you go look up “Communism” for yourself. I guarantee it doesn’t mean what you think it does. Kinda like how the word “liberal” means “favorable to or respectful of individual rights and freedoms.” and “Favouring maximum individual liberty in political and social reform.” Although I could see how a fascist like you could resent that sort of thing.

                      • odumba says:

Its about as meaningful as neo-con…

                      • No1askedme says:

Neo-con isn’t a real word, you’re right. However, it is effective as a term when referring to political ideology. In this sense, the prefix “neo” basically means ultra-fundamentalist. So a neo-conservative is someone like yourself with impractically conservative views, so extreme it borders on fascism. The “religious right” wingnuts are real fascists.

                    • Lucy's mom says:

He is also following the advice of DD Eisenhower. In his farewell address to the nation, Ike coined the phrase Military-Industrial complex and warned the nation of what would happen if we dumped everything we had into the MI bank accounts. He said that education would go to hell, health-care would be a lower priority and the infrastructure would rot. Now there was a Republican who knew exactly what he was talking about. Did his party listen? No one listened. First LBJ, then Nixon, then Reagan really ramped it up and then the Bush family made war for the fun of it. And what happened? Exactly what Ike said would happen. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer and the nation went to hell. Now Obama has to lift all that crap back off of us and restore the infrastructure. Where was all this anguished howling about money when Regan was pipe-lining it right into the MI? Now that a president is spending money on people instead of largely meaningless weapons, he’s a communist. Well then, Ike must have been one too. The man was a two term cold warrior president and CEO of WWII. What did he know?

                      • odumbaday says:

Eisenhower was both a Republican and a soldier. While he was aware of the dangers of the Military Industrial Complex, a phrase he took from the communists, he was well aware of the dangers of capitulation and appeasement. The Soviets did build the Berlin Wall or put missiles in Cuba under Eisenhower because they knew he would not permit it. There is nothing wrong with our health care or our infrastructure. Our health care is the envy of the world. Spending on the defence is one of the few constitutional mandates of the budget.

While the rich got richer under Reagan, so did everyone else. And while spending increased under Reagan, he lowered taxes and increased revenue. He tried to implement spending controls, but the Democrats defeated every single one of them. Remember his first tax increase? Remember Gramm, Rudman, Hollings? Line item veto? I wish Reagan had done as Buchanan suggested and simply vetoed the entire budget and make them do it over. Then we might have been able to turn the budget around.

Obama has chosen to use the same disproven policies of FDR and we will probably suffer this depression the entire time he is in office. FDR dragged the depression out for 10 years. A decade. Then he got us out of it by getting us into a world war.

The question is not what Eisenhower knew, we would be fortunate to have him today. He would not be sucking up to Chavez, Putin, Iran, or any of the tinpot dictators so attracted to the boob in the White House. Liberals, however, would be howling.

You are one sad, deluded individual. Our health care is the LAUGHINGSTOCK of the world. The greatest country in the world can’t even insure its own people or make sure everyone has access to AFFORDABLE health care. Yet all the other developed countries can do it. Why not us?

“While the rich got richer under Reagan, so did everyone else.”

Funny, that’s not how I remember the 80’s. I remember my mom working 70 hours a week as an assistant manager in retail, and for what? Did she get promoted anymore? Was her hard work rewarded with a good salary? Hell no. And my dad. Yeah, he worked for an architect for years as a draftsman just to be laid off in ‘88. Real economic boom there. Reagan’s policies failed the middle class completely.

“Obama has chosen to use the same disproven policies of FDR and we will probably suffer this depression the entire time he is in office. FDR dragged the depression out for 10 years. A decade.”

This is another conservative talking point meant to discredit one of the greatest presidents ever. If FDR hadn’t intervened, the depression might have ended sooner, but it would’ve been way the hell worse first. We would’ve bottomed out in ways you couldn’t imagine. And what he did brought hope to a desolate population. You really need to stay away from the conservatroll pundits. They’ve destroyed what little brain you have left.

And by the way, no president is required by law to show his medical records, or school records, and if you want to prove otherwise, cite it by law documentation… no blogs, no news shows, show me the law document IN TEXT.
Once you’re done with that strawman? Can we burn it? Us hippie liberal communists need to start up the Burning Man festival soon, and the LSD works so much better with the biggest, most idiotic strawman ever constructed burning right in front of us.

no, other candidates have not ‘freely’ offered this sort of information. otherwise bush’s military file would be public information, as would his medical file, same with reagan, nixon, carter, bush sr, etc. nor are their college transcripts public information, or their passports, or any other personal information.
arrest records are available if you know how to find them, same with court records, graduation documentation, but not transcripts. medical records are only available if released or leaked illegally, otherwise the same rules of privacy apply to him as well as you.
and again, what does it matter? he’s been declared our lawful president, he wasn’t born in kenya, he isn’t an idiot who went through school trading on his family connections, his grandfather wasn’t a nazi sympathizer…. give it up, find a new dead horse

                        • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Since you are going the Nazi sympathizer route, how about affirmative action? We know nothing of his grades, if there was nothing to hide they would be front and center, if they could’ve benefitted him.

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

No other president has been required to do so. And there is no public outcry for his grades. His official degree which you CAN access shows him graduating CUM LAUD, which means he did very well in school. That’s all you have to worry about. Unless you really think that him may or maybe not having a C- minus on a midterm makes him any less of a leader.
Your argument is colander, it just doesn’t hold water.

affirmative action might have opened a door or two, but i believe that the fact he went to school on academic scholarships got him a heck of a lot further than an open door, nor does affirmative action translate to graduating law school cum laude. especially since he wasn’t the first black man to attend harvard/yale/columbia/vassar/brown or any other ivy league university – there wasn’t any vested interest in faking his grades at that point in history – after all, it wasn’t the 60’s and integration was a fact of life except for the butt-hurt who obviously are still with us after nearly 50 yrs

You’re really are a delusional one aren’t you? Cult of Personality dictators are DICTATORS, Obama is an elected official. On top of that, I don’t see any “big brother”-esq posters or ads everywhere, he’s not forcing this on anyone. He’s a politician, they accept just about any support they receive. Politicians are also all selfish egotists, what other kind of person thinks they’re the best person to run a country? I’m not disagreeing with the fact he loves to hear himself talk, but I’m saying it’s a non-issue.

                • odumbaday says:

Hitler was an elected official too. Big brother in this case – that would be Obama – likes to be on television 24 hours a day, 1984-ish.

                  • Danbala says:

I am thrilled at how many posts went by before it all got godwined.

                  • No1askedme says:

Hitler was an elected official who stole power by using the other political parties to force his way into the position of Kaiser (or whatever they called in at that point). He then jailed or otherwise silenced his opponents and reorganized the balance of power so that he was the only one with any real power. Obama has shown no sign of doing that, but don’t think I’ll support him if he does. As for Obama being on TV a lot, you’re right. But this is the way modern politics are run, especially when your ideas are as controversial as Obama’s. Besides, Obama isn’t spouting propaganda all the time, he’s just clarifying his policies and views; and when there is a little BS thrown in there it’s because he’s a politician, they do that kind of stuff. It’s hardly reminiscent of “1984″.

        • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

No, all politicians do not do this crap. We don’t do this crap in this country, they do this type of thing in Communist China! If we do anything like that in this country it’s songs that praise the country itself and it’s founding values and principles. Not any particular man, he is ONLY a man you know, after all.

          • No1askedme says:

What the hell is your point?! Did you read ANYTHING I wrote? My point is Obama’s a politician, therefore he’s a selfish egotist who will take any support he can get. • mmm, mmm, mmm says:

And you don’t get MY point, when was this EVER done for ANY other US president? Or any US politician for that matter. Do school kids sing songs about George Washington? I don’t think they are even allowed to talk about him in school anymore.

      • No1askedme says:

OMGSTFU! There was never any evidence to back up the “ACORN scandal”. You’re just an annoying troll with no brain! THINK FOR YOURSELF!

        • Odumba says:

          • No1askedme says:

What videos?! The first time I heard about this “ACORN scandal” thing I looked all over trying to find what people were talking about, and I found nothing. There was never an official investigation, there was never any legitimate evidence, and no one in their right mind actually believed it!

P.S. If you’re talking about that video of Peloci, I’ve seen it. There is nothing in it that suggests ACORN was involved in voter fraud unless you take what she says entirely out of context. Besides, most democrats hate her too.

            • odumba says:

OMG, you don’t know… I’m talking about the video where they guy walks in an ACORN office pretending he is a pimp and wants to bring under age girls into the country from South America and ACORN is jumping all over themselves trying to get him assistance and tax shelters!! Do you use google?

            • odumbaday says:

Acorn was under investigation in 15 states for voter fraud. Are they all mistaken? With all the voter fraud that takes place, do you understand how difficult it is to even catch? How widespread must it be if 15 states charge one organization with it?

              • No1askedme says:

Please provide any evidence that what you have said is true, because I can’t find anything. Besides, you don’t seem to care about the voting fraud that occurred in your favor… or has your tiny brain already forgotten?

                • odumbaday says:

                  “acorn voter fraud investigation states”;

You must have really knocked yourself out investigating this. I even found a liberal news story citation….

An AP story from October 2008

“Some ACORN employees have been accused of submitting false voter registration forms—including some signed `Mickey Mouse’ or other fictitious characters.

Those voter registration cards have become the focus of fraud investigations in Nevada, Connecticut, Missouri and at least five other states. Election officials in Ohio and North Carolina also recently questioned the group’s voter forms. ”

There werent 15 investigations going on at the time, but it got worse. I think you need to go back and take a serious look at the so-called voter fraud that happened in our favor. As I recall it was a bunch of Democrats who thought that they had voted for Buchanan due to the onerous butterfly ballots. Ballots that the DNC in Florida had approved for use. They did not even have a single person who knew it to be the case, not even one.

                  • No1askedme says:

I’m looking for it but I’m not finding it, could you provide a link? I’m serious, I cannot find it, but I really don’t want to be an ass to you if I’m really wrong. As for the republican’s voting fraud, I was talking about the “voter boxing” that happened all over the country. Look, both sides are guilty of voter fraud in every election, let it go.

                  • Torus2112 says:

I know as little about this as everybody else, but the feeling I get is this was some lazy employees padding their quotas, I know I wouldn’t enter Mickey Mouse if I were seriously attempting Voter Fraud.

            • Jojo says:

Ignorance fail. Just because you haven’t looked up the concrete video evidence of multiple ACORN employees catering to a man and woman that are acting the part of a pimp and prostitute, specifically asking for a place to “do business”, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
              (Run-on sentence I KNOW!)
You need to look it up.
ACORN is attempting to sue the makers of the video, but I can’t think of a judge in this country that is so disconnected from reality to even humor the case.

ACORN is a thorn in America’s side. They funnel government funds for corrupt programs. They took part in large scale voter fraud during the elections.

              • No1askedme says:

I thought he was talking about the “voter fraud’ accusations. I misunderstood. I agree ACORN has issues, but that proves nothing. What does this have to do with Obama again?

                  ACORN is his baby.

                • Jojo says:

The Obama administration was given $800,000 for his campaign from ACORN.

                  • Jojo says:

Obama is directly responsible for every act of corruption in any official office in this nation.

Wait what? Sorry about that, this far-right headcrab was eating my brain.

Not saying Obama is retroactively responsible for ACORN’s corruption, but instead of saying “I don’t really keep up with them. I’m not sure what the situation is.” (paraphrased, in reference to when he was asked about ACORN’s corruption) he should take some direct action.

Direct action is a lot to ask for when Healthcare and Afghanistan are looming over his shoulders, but still, all he needs to do is sign a paper, give a command, something!

                    • No1askedme says:

You go beyond stupidity… I… I can’t even believe what I’m reading here… you really need to look at yourself and see what you’ve become, because I assume you were a rational human being at some point…

              • stunned by your ignorance says:

Acorn did not commit voter fraud. What happened was they paid people tp collect voter registrations and some of those workers submitted false forms with made up names to make more money. ACORN reported these forms to the appropriate agencies, making sure that the false names were not registered to vote, preventing voter fraud.

Here in NM in the 2004 election the Republican party paid workers to collect voter registrations — hitch was that they only paid for Republican registrations. Nothing was ever done about that and it certainly didn’t make the numerous headlines ACORN did. Same thing happened in Las Vegas.

                • No1askedme says:

So THAT’S where they’re getting their accusations! I never put those two together until you explained it. Thanks a lot!

                • odumbaday says:

                  Once more from the top….

“WASHINGTON (AP) – The FBI is investigating whether the community activist group ACORN helped foster voter registration fraud around the nation before the presidential election.
A senior law enforcement official confirmed the investigation to The Associated Press on Thursday. A second senior law enforcement official says the FBI was looking at results of recent raids on ACORN offices in several states for any evidence of a coordinated national scam.”

“the Republican party paid workers to collect voter for Republican registrations” Boy, you’re on to something scandalous here. Stop the presses!

                  • No1askedme says:

I read stuff relating to this, but I never put it together. It would seem certain employees of ACORN at least attempted to engage in voting fraud, but it was only a small portion of the organization. ACORN was not officially involved, only a relatively small percentage of the employees; who were reported by the organization. In short, ACORN didn’t engage in voting fraud, some jackasses who worked for ACORN did. Besides, plenty of the states this reportedly occurred in went to McCain anyways, so the fraudulent votes obviously were insignificant.

                    • stunned by your ignorance says:

I will try to clarify. “Voter fraud” is when someone fraudulently (ie illegally) tries to or succeeds in voting. Some of the people working for ACORN submitted fraudulent voter registrations to ACORN hoping to increase their pay. These had such brilliant names as “Mickey Mouse” and “Donald Duck” and were never filed because ACORN caught them before it reached that point. So there never was any ‘voter fraud,’ per se. And it was ACORN’s own reporting of these fraudulent registrations that prompted the investigations.

And yes, it does matter that the Republicans were paying for only Republican registrations because it was discovered when people who registered as Democrats found out that their registrations somehow never made it to the clerk’s office.

Personally, I believe that the whole practice of paying people ‘per registration’ just invites the workers to falsify registrations. ACORN ended this practice after they discovered what was happening, by the way.

                    • odumbaday says:

A small part of the organization across 15 states? It does not matter how far back you go, Acorn has had this reputation for as long as I can remember. I think that is why that film maker did his pimp and ho routine in at least 4 different Acorn offices, to show that it was no fluke and not an exception.

                      • No1askedme says:

It was not perpetrated by ACORN, it was perpetrated by some of its employees. Also, did you notice the qualifier “relatively”, that means something you know. It was some employees in 15 of the 50 states, so yes, it is a RELATIVELY small portion. Besides, they weren’t even successful, so shut the hell up about it. It’s like yelling about how Iraq “had WMDs” whenever someone says the war was pointless. You’ve been discredited, get over it, move on.

                        • odumbaday says:

So, the first people the guy goes up to in 4 different offices in 4 different locations just all happen to be part of that relatively small portion? If it was a relatively small portion wouldn’t the odds of that happening 4 times in a row be pretty remote? Statistically speaking. Since Iraq used WMD’s, I’d say its pretty likely the had WMDs.

LOL, truth is in the eye of the beholder my “friend”. All things are relative and we all see the world differently. I live my life based on logic, there is no evidence as to the existence of God, nor is there evidence to the contrary; based on this I conclude that God probably doesn’t exist and therefore religion is impractical. Even if I saw conclusive evidence that your religion was “correct”, I wouldn’t follow it because I’m no ones puppet to command; I have a will of my own and I will not be denied my right to be who I am. Your kind will never control me or break my will, I’m one persistent SOB. Believe in your God if you want, I don’t care; but NEVER preach your delusions as the truth.

          • No1askedme says:

Yes, I’ve read significant portions of it and I even have christian friends. The Bible doesn’t, however, prove anything. It’s only a book. Besides, what makes your Bible so much more right than the Torah or the Koran? For that matter, what makes you think it’s true at all? There’s limited evidence to support anything it says, and it’s been “tweaked” multiple times in the past by the church. Look, I didn’t attack your faith did I? I just said I don’t personally like it, I never said you were wrong or anything. So stop attacking my personal beliefs now or I’ll fight back.

            • odumba says:

I’m not attacking you, I just asked a question… That’s all. I believe the bible because it’s the only one that says that God came down as a man and died for us. He even said that was why he was here, and that he was the only way. None of the others say that. All the others say YOU have to do something to gain entrance to heaven, the bible says HE has already done it. I studied all the others too… They are nice ways to live, but I don’t believe they are complete, that’s all. If you are happy with what you believe I’m not attacking you, but you asked me so…

              • No1askedme says:

Ok, I see your point. Sorry about snapping at you like that, I don’t have the best social skills so I tend to misinterpret what people say. I don’t fully understand all the nuances of the christian faith, because to be honest I have little interest in it, but I can accept that you choose to believe in it. I honestly don’t care what people believe as long as they can accept that other views exist and they don’t try to push their own on others.

        • odumbaday says:

You will find that the study of logic teaches that there is truth, and truth is not relative, but absolute.

Will is an interesting thing. Christianity does not necessarily teach that having it is a virtue.

          • Danbala says:

What? Where the buggery did you study logic?

          • No1askedme says:

Logic dictates that, being human, our perceptions are imperfect and therefore we can never fully comprehend truth. Learn to use logic.

            • FaileV says:

The study of logic doesn’t actually say there is an absolute truth overall >.> I’m not saying you shouldn’t try to use it to prove such things, but the study of logic is not the same as the study or metaphysics or epistemology. the study of logic doesnt say what is and is not absolute truth, just how to find it.

        • Studererer says:

          You are someone’s puppet…just not God’s.
Logic = “there is no evidence as to the existence of God, nor is there evidence to the contrary; based on this I conclude that God probably doesn’t exist”? (but not that God probably does exists?)
You’re saying that you can’t prove either so you don’t believe in God? How is that logic?

          • Danbala says:

How could it be logical to believe in everything you cannot disprove? Do you believe I have sock-eating gnomes in my sock drawer?

          • No1askedme says:

For me, it’s mostly because I reject morality as pointless. I totally see what you mean, but it’s very hard to express my thought processes in words, so sometimes I leave bits out. I just don’t see a reason to believe in a God, is that so wrong?

          • FaileV says:

I believe there is a fallacy connected to this. More or less existence requires proof, non existence does not. there are many many things that don’t exist that do not have to prove it. If i told you giant purple hippos don’t exist, you wouldn’t question it, because you’ve never seen one or evidence of one, therefor it doesnt exist.
Some things can even be disproved. If i say there is a monster under my bed that turns the sky yellow. you can check under the bed to see lack of evidence, and point to the sky to contradict the example i used for the existence of it.
Now god is obviously more complicated, but like all things we need evidence that god exists. A book doesn’t count. There have been many books claiming a fictional character to be real. It’s a circular argument. You need outside justification.
Personally i don’t believe in an actually God. I find the idea to be logically inconsistent, but i’m not saying it’s better or worse or you are terrible people for believing. I just wanted to explain why “there is no evidence of God, therefor god must not exist” is logically valid.

      • FaileV says:

Ha! Sorry, I just find statements like this to be funny, the Tao Te Ching says the same thing, but comes to a very different conclusion. But it’s alright, you’ll find the truth eventually.

        • odumba says:

I believe it probably says somerthing like you have to sit and meditate and transend the duality of the physical world until you reach a state of nirvana. The physical world is not real, it’s something you created with your attachments…. Am I close?

          • No1askedme says:

Confusing thoughts confuse me. I helps to hear them in context I think.

          • FaileV says:

no not particularly. That seems closer to Buddhism but i know less of that so i can’t say for sure.
It’s more along the lines of the universe is perfect, there is no good, there is no evil, therefore it is good. Finding harmony in yourself and the universe. being a general good person, giving without asking for anything in return…it goes over many things in its 81 verses.
I find it interesting how in many places you can interchange the tao and god to get a very christian vibe, but at the same time there are passages that are at odds with the mentality.
For instance christians feel you need jesus to “fill you up” where as the tao has verse eleven describe how that emptiness or non being is where you find use.
I’d suggest reading it sometime if you ever wanted to try and understand it, like any philosophy, you’ll never get a cookie cutter simple summary with the tao, particularly if zen is involved.

            • odumba says:

“It’s more along the lines of the universe is perfect, there is no good, there is no evil, therefore it is good.”

Hmmm. You kind of threw me there… If there is no good and evil, then how is that therefore good?

What about the universe is perfect, there IS good and evil and we are hear to learn to chose the good path? I think these older religions are beautiful and have a lot of validity, but they are just incomplete. Maybe I will read that, I did study a bit about Zen but mostly modern writers, I don’t recall that particular scripture…

              • No1askedme says:

I’ve always held the opinion all things just sort of are. “Good” and “bad” don’t make any kind of logical sense, but they can exist in the sense of personal contexts. I prefer to judge things based on the merits of equality.

              • Failev says:

It threw me at first as well. it’s something that really clicks when you get it and it’s very hard to explain properly.
The universe is not good or evil, it just is, but there is good and evil, people are inherantly good and evil comes when they do not have an internal harmony.
I appreciate other religions for the structure they give people and the general guide, but i find many problems pop up when you try to define things too much. If your goodness must be validated by an external source then some begin to think they are better than others, and that leads to some big problems in history. I’m not saying everyone does this. I’m just saying it happens.
However personification does make for some interesting almost funny parts in the bible. like Yahweh meeting moses on a road to kill him Exodus 4:24

    • Jojo says:

Did you just laughoutloudoutlaughoutloudoutlaughoutloud? It sure looked like it.

In reference to your final sentence above, it would be “is fascist”, as “religious right” is a single entity, though composed of many people.

You are a bad person. Not for being athiest, but for being a sheep. You have no idea why you hate everyone who opposes your views but you make sure to let them know.

You so strongly believe in someone else’ view without ever bothering to form your own view.

You defeat your own argument before you begin when you have an ignorant, hateful attitude towards everyone who doesn’t think the way you do.

All these signs point to you most likely being a fascist. A cross dressing one, at that.

      • No1askedme says:

I’M NO THE SHEEP HERE, YOU ARE! Never EVER call me anyones puppet ever again! All my views are my own, if you don’t like them that’s your opinion but NEVER say I’m not thinking for myself. I’m not hateful towards other ideas, I’m fascinated by them and only wish to understand them. What I hate is when people tell me I’m wrong because my ideas are different! YOUR STATEMENT APPLIES MORE TO YOURSELF THAN IT DOES TO ME! Also, nice “lul ur a gai librul moron lulz.” comment at the end there, it really helps me prove my point. What if I was a cross dresser, would that be so wrong? Strange maybe, but I wouldn’t be hurting anyone would I?

        • bitter troll says:

          besides womens clothing so comfy!

        • Jojo says:

First off, you’re a moron. I just need to point that out. Okay, now I can continue.

You are clearly not fascinated when you respond to everyone’s opinion with your “anti-neo-con witch hunt”

I also never said “lul ur a gai librul moron lulz” or even that in English.

I said you’re a fascist cross dresser. I suppose you made the connection between fascism and liberalism all on your own.

The cross dressing part was to add to the sarcasm and humor. I really don’t care if people cross dress, although it can get very confusing in my mass-mating ceremonies. Well, I guess those are confusing enough as it is.

I love how blinded you are with your own rhetoric. You congratulate yourself for being open minded but when someone opposes your view they are tossed into a heaping pile of “neo-cons” regardless of what they believe in.

Keep failing at having an open mind. It makes it more fun to talk to you.

      • bad fairie says:

kind of hard to be a sheep and an atheist at the same time – jebezzuz is the shepard, his followers are his flock, a flock is comprised of sheep — since an atheist isn’t his follower, the sheep description isn’t very apt

    • Darrkwolff says:

Never seemed to have lost its strength.

People still acting like rabid dogs at the very name of George Bush. Such people need serious help.

      • No1askedme says:

Yeah, seriously. He may have screwed up, but it’s not like he deliberately wrecked the county’s economy. I may not like him but some people really need to calm down about him. This LOL isn’t very funny anyways…

  18. Studererer says:

Bush jokes? Still? Honestly, I’m finding more to poke fun at in the current administration than the old one. (Of course you’d never see them here…)
What’s next Pundit? Clinton sex jokes? Yawn.

  19. Bix Nood says:

    Abe suspended habeas corpus FYI.

  20. Berkley says:

    no funny things about Obama?
There is a TOTUS blog written by his TelePrompTer, he’s starting look like Barney Fife. He has many misguided fans that do thing in his name that he himself has not sanctioned, and yet, gets the blame for (can we say “Mm mm mm”?)
He himself has made fun of his own ears, He’s mocked himself more than the press or his fans have.

  21. Darrkwolff says:

If Bush is so evil and/or stupid, and yet got a Democrat-led Congress in 2001 to be on board for the war in Iraq, what does that say about Congress?

    Anyone?

    Anyone?

    Bueler?

  22. tarenapoli says:

Bush jokes just never get old, do they? I mean, this will be funny many, many years from now. I’m so glad the MSM has the boldness to always tell the truth without slanting it for the benefit of a particular ideology. That would have been pathetic if they had! But clearly they didn’t. They always gave a clear picture and didn’t cloud the issues, or paint any politician in a particular light–just the light of truth. I’ll always respect Dan Rather and Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson for always putting their own personal politics behind them, and just focusing on the concrete facts of what was happening and what had, in fact, happened. They were so courageous for doing that. CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and ABC were just packed with news professionals with a passion for the truth who never compromised on cold, hard facts to bring what was really true out into the open. Again and again their decisive, lucid, and transparent reporting showed a brave, unrelenting search for veracity, and absolutely never compromised their 24/7 truth-telling for anything but the facts. A blessing upon their heads and may their unwavering search for the TRUTH compel them to continue likewise.

    • Begoniac says:

Yeah, well, if they’d really done their jobs, we wouldn’t have invaded Iraq.

      • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

We invaded Iraq because we had been attacked by radical Islamic terrorist. If it turned out the SH had had WMDs after all and they had gotten into the hands of any terrorist, how do you think we would have felt getting hit again? I don’t think they could have been too careful and GWB did a great job keeping us safe all those years after 9/11.

        • Begoniac says:

That’s bullshít. Didn’t you get the memo? Lawd! I can’t believe you’re still making those ridiculous claims.

          • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

We weren’t attacked by radical Islamic terrorists? Selective memory? Or are you one of those idiotic “truthers”? It’s not a CLAIM, it happened, it’s called “history”. You should try reading about that sometime.

        • Sheesh says:

Are you on your menstrual period today?

        • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

He wouldn’t have needed to go on the offensive if we had not been attacked, would he? You can hardly blame him for the actions of terrorists, who btw, are begining to just get started again from the looks of things we can probably expect another attack soon because they know now no one will stop them.

          • No1askedme says:

You’re an ignorant ass. All evidence suggests Al Quida is falling apart, not growing. Also, we had no reason to invade Iraq, that’s what we’re talking about.

            • as long as crazy violent people are allowed to be in groups togther, terrorists will be around. they may join other groups or kill people for other reasons, but they will be around

            • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

MIAMI – Seven people were arrested Thursday in connection with the early stages of a plot to attack Chicago’s Sears Tower and other buildings in the U.S., federal law-enforcement sources told NBC News….

Click on my name – if you don’t think they are influenced by Al Qeda then you are delluded.

              • No1askedme says:

You believe the news? Really? Look, the news is just being sensationalistic. Scared people watch the news, their ratings go up, they get paid more. Look elsewhere for your “evidence”, the new companies cannot be trusted.

              • Begoniac says:

Are you talking about the homeless guys from three years ago? They didn’t even have shoes! That was another joke, courtesy of Alberto Gonzales.

  23. JM says:

For the love of God, Bush is no longer president. Could you people please move on now?

    • Begoniac says:

      You first.

    • bad fairie says:

not until the republicans bring forth someone better & with more staying power to make fun of.

    • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

They have to do something to deflect attention from the crap job Obama is doing.

      • No1askedme says:

Obama hasn’t screwed up at all yet moron. He hasn’t even been in office for a year yet, so shut up! Fixing the economy will take some time, and he always said it would.

        • but but but obama is not takeing fast and easy ways to repair the economy, ways that will just wind up hurting us far worse later on! and he’s not makeing sound bites that make me feel good and glittery like a emo vampire. he must be doing a bad job then, oh and he’s a evil double secret muslim. and his Revernd from his christain church is racist.

          • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

Pouring money into the economy IS the easy way out and will hurt us in the future even worse. The hard way out, where everyone tightens their belts, pays off their debts and works hard for the future, that is the hard way and the better way for the future.

            • Begoniac says:

Let me guess. You’re a Nobel Prize-winning economist.

              • mmm,mmm,mmm says:

You don’t have to be to understand how you get out of debt, pay off your bills, work hard, save and invest. Anyone can do it and it will pay off in the end, but no one wants to, everyone wants to be a millionaire, right now, no one wants to work hard anymore, everyone wants all the goodies now, upfront. That in my opinion is what is screwing our economy.

  24. CW says:

Nope. He has left his lasting legacy. He who wrecked the economy worse than Reagan, spent billions on a useless war while the real battlefield went fallow, etc, etc.

Oh, and, just in case you forgot; the repubs were blaming 9/11 on Clinton as far back as 2006.
