…. why would you want to see the logistical branch of the US armed forces? I mean really, you might as well compare them with USPS.

I do believe they did have a special forces (or at least, a scout/sniper) competition a while back. it wasn’t very well televised, but I do believe the only reason why the canadian team lost to a USMC recon team was that they didn’t practice with a .50 cal rifle. granted,

Errr, sorry about that :

The name of this brigade to be is actually Brigade La Fayette (Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, marquis de La Fayette, rings any bell ?) with its HQ in Kapisa’s FOB, in Nijrab. This redeployment will allow the doubling of the number of combat troops.

I also forgot a number of 150 gendarmes (military personnel with police power) serving in the Police Organisationnal Liaison and Mentoring Teams.

Hi.

So far we mourn the loss of 36 of our soldiers.

A total of 3700 french troops are currently deployed on the afghan theater, 3000 of them within Afghanistan.
1400 are support troops, serving for exemple the camp warehouse hospital, the only role 2 structure of the region.

I expect the number of casualties to increase dramatically, as they are to be redeployed from Kaboul toward the east, in the Kapisa and Surobi bases, thus forming a new brigade. If I remember correctly, they’ve decided to name it – not even joking – Brigade Dragon .

Was that serious enough to suit your tastes ?

as for civilian safety in combat… the enemy combatants in iraq and afghanistan repeatedly use civilians as human shields for their operations and yet you still think that it is the us soldiers who have no regard for innocent life…

I rather think indiscriminate use of cruise missiles in the opening days/nights of the conflict lead to thousands of civilian deaths, and that it’s the US who have no regard for innocent life.

Yeah, as an American, I can tell you that the mainstream news isn’t even worth watching for information anymore, other than the weather. It is pretty funny to switch between FOX and ABC while they are covering the same topic though, if I didn’t know better I’d think they were trying to out-crazy each other, if that’s really the case tough, FOX wins hands down.
