The extreme verticalness of the caption to the right is annoying.
It would appear that the captioner was in a hurry. I can’t imagine not taking the time to at least make it look better.
I’m in the other camp entirely. The vertical caption does something for me. Maybe its just because its not the boring default boxy box.
@CafeLatte: Agreed. The captions have been used artistically to imply motion. The bus tearing past the photo’s subjects has skewed both captions to the viewers’ left. Too sophisticated to be appreciated by the masses I guess.

Oooh! I understand a reference! I saw up until the bit when the bus was flying over a 50 foot gap in the road… What happened then? I take it they didn’t all die horribly?
Let me see if I can remember….they get the bus out to the airport where they can drive fast enough around the runways, figure out that the bomber is watching them through the security camera on board, and trick him by using a recorded feed of a loop of about 60 seconds of everyone sitting there so they can offload the passengers onto a parallel vehicle without incident. Um, somewhere in there there’s a whole thing with Keanu under the speeding bus trying to defuse the bomb.
He and Sandra Bullock slide out from under the bus all slow mo like and then she gets kidnapped by Dennis Hopper and he wires her with explosives and takes her on the subway. I forget what they do with Dennis Hopper but they end up crashing the subway by speeding up and jumping over the tracks that had been missing. And why the hell do I remember so much detail of a movie I haven’t seen in over 10 years?
It’s not a great film, but it is a funny film if you’re in the right sort of mood.
I think Mr Hopper’s head got squooshed by a light-fitting or something while they were doing the whole clichéd “fighting on top of a speeding train” thing.
Oh, yeah, I totally forgot that part! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it, too.
