The only promise that came with that ring

The only promise that came with that ring was that I’d stick around until we were politically irrelevant

Hypocritical family is hypocritical.
If I was being fair I’d say that neither daughter nor mother should be held responsible for the actions of the other and that they’re each entitled to their own beliefs and ethics.
But where’s the fun in that? Anything making Palin look like the dumb bitch she is is good for me.
Hey, if the Palin family were Democrats, the right-wing hate group known as the Republican Party would make a meal of this situation for **YEARS**.
Oh, and while I’m here… I agree with Pheemz: Palin = dumb bitch. Hawt, absolutely. And a dumb bitch.
I just heard on the news that Palin turned down part of the stimulus
money designated for her state. Declaring that she would only accept
money that was “targeted, timely and temporary,” she is only inter-
ested in 70% of the money. Her claim is that 30% of the money
would cause Alaska’s government to grow in size.
Palin putting her national stage posturing over the interests of her constituents is selfish and, yes, dumb.
I saw on MSNBC that she was only taking 55% last night…I know a couple other Governors said they wouldn’t take it either…FINE!! SEND IT TO PA…WE COULD USE IT!!!!
30% would cause Alaska’s Govt to grow…does that mean JOB CREATION?!
Slippery slope, that…
How so?
I just recently read the enclosed link (and am reading other pubs), and while I am still in the process of forming my opinions about economics, politics, and such, it struck me as interesting and relevant.
~
Link
Interesting link.
I can’t claim to be very knowledgable about economics…so I haven’t really formed an opinion on it yet, either. I’ve been leaning heavily on the opinions of others; but, I think Obama’s right that we need to be spending money to stimulate the economy. I’m just not sure if the way we are going about it is right. I think I’d like to see more money spent on the nation’s infrastrucure whcih would allow for immediate job creation.
Part of my problem is that I keep hearing so many Repubs say that Obama’s wrong, but they don’t offer any plan. I’d like to see a republican plan (other than scraming “Tax cuts”) so I could form a better opinion.
LOL!
I was getting a little nervous there, I’m not ready to spout my economic policy opinion yet…part of the reason I am here is to learn more about what other people are saying regarding politics, not just bloggers and the MSM.
Why offer up vegetables when you can distract everyone by shouting “Candy! Ice Cream!”?
The GOP really needs to pull their collective act together. Spitballing the people making painful decisions is not going to get them anywhere.
A good line I heard last night (can’t remember who to attribute it to):
The Republican Party’s only plan is to bash the Democratic Plan.
_____
Did anyone catch Eric Cantor getting grilled over whether he would vote for the 90% taxation on bonuses? I haven’t seen dancing like that since Jerry Rice on Danicing with the Stars…
IIRC, that GOP plan line was from Hardball.
I’ve linked an opinion piece about the strange position the GOP now finds itself in, vis a vis taxes. It’s similar to the discussion with Eric Cantor last night. I heard it as I was fading into sleep. Do you remember which show that was?
It was on “Morning Joe” but Matthews replayed it (as well as Rachel Maddow) last night…
*Correction*
The Cantor grilling was on Morning joe (replayed on Matthews and Maddow)…I don’t remember who used the line about the GOP plan…but it may have been Matthews
I just heard that the 30% of the money that Palin is refusing (on behalf of her state) was designated for education.
We all know how expansive and wasteful education is! Keep it classy, Sarah!
@MG: Found it! Keith Olbermann said it,
during a conversation with Lawrence O’Donnell.
“OLBERMANN: All right. Phil‘s ears just flip up, you mention him on TV, that would be likely to get you the job.
“Cantor certainly erased any illusions there, didn‘t he? And Republicans don‘t have a plan except bring down
the president‘s plan.”

I saw a bumper sticker this am that said “Thise who ignore history are doomed to vote republican”
Couldn’t resist an altogether random note.
Except it said “those” DOH
Alaska – the land God gave to Cain… and with her set of beliefs, you don’t edumacationing, just a decent hell fire preacher to tell you about the End of Day…
Ah Alaska, where “We Don’t Need No Education” isn’t just a song; it’s a manual.
You said INFRASTRUCTURE !!!
Is that a bad thing??!!
LOL! “Innn-fra-struc-ture!!!” is a running joke on the Rachel Maddow show. She loves the sound of the word, and often dwells on it in a geeky way. Gotta love Rachel!
I’ve got a lot of respect for her…she never rants and raves like a lunatic, presents her take on issues, never gets into it with guests (like Ingraham did last night) and respects their opinions.
Geeky, smart, articulate girls get me hot. Too bad for me Rachel plays for the other team. Ah well, I can still admire her in a platonic way.
But corrupting the opposition is fun…
@Rho: You mean a geeky, SEXY way. Rawr.
Rachel purring “innnnnnnfrastructure” + Ana Marie Cox’s reaction shot to same = Must See TV
@Seth: You can admire her in a non-platonic way, excepting for any point(s) in time when you are with her in person. Just ask Slan…
Rachel is nearly enough to make this seriously straight girl
wish she were gay. Or at least bi. She’s just so darned
*likable*.
MotherGoose,
How about Tax Reform? My problem with the Obama plan is # 1 nobody had time to read it before it was voted on, both sides voted on what they didn’t read, hence the AIG bonuses that were allowed. #2 it does not do much to stimulate job growth, Private contractors taking government contracts for
infrastructure is helpful but not permanent. we know from history
that the New Deal (very similar in spending technique) did not work to get us out of the depression, only WWII did. I agree Tax cuts aren’t enough any more but a solution like the FairTax could help, it would stimulate job growth through simplification of the tax code and easing the burden on employerCheckout the fairtax website online.
Great, now you’re making sense and we got along last night…
The New Deal may not have gotten us out of the depression, but it did make sure people got fed, and there were no riots/revolutions due to folks not having any options at all. I’ve visited an old CCC camp in Milton, MA, where they sent a lot of men to live and work–building some admittedly random stuff like observations towers in the middle of the woods. But those guys were living in barracks miles from the city–meaning they couldn’t make trouble–and they both being fed and were sending home money to feed their families. A lack of civil unrest and a lack of starving children is nothing to spit at.
And you know, those bridges and observations towers are still standing solid, in spite of NE winters. If you like hiking, they are actually kind of pretty!
(Mount Batty, ME, and Middlesex Fells, Winchester, MA just to name 2 of them)
BTW, the Federal Housing Act saved my grandparents’ home, when my grandfather was laid off (right after welcoming infant twin daughters into the family), so I’m pro-New Deal. But you don’t have to end a depression completely to have a good effect on the country!
Just to clarify the statement that the New Deal didn’t end the Depression:
In 1933 unemployment was at 25%. By 1937, it was down to 14%. An 11% reduction in unemployment in a single presidential term is not half bad, considering where the country was at the start of it.
In 1937, FDR bowed to conservative pressure and tapped the brakes on the New Deal, stripping down programs to what was derisively called the “Dime Store New Deal” at the time. Sure enough, unemployment tipped back up that year, jumping to 19%. At that point it took gearing up for WWII to fully reverse the trend again.
i too would love to see a republican plan that doesn’t
involve tax cuts and the faulty reaganomics/trickle
down double blind fantasy. as far as improvements
to the infrastructure not being a sound use of our
taxes, i’d like to point out a few things that get over-
looked *the interstate highway system that became
the backbone of the freeway system that enables
rapid transit of goods; * the hydroelectric dams out
west that still provide massive amounts of cheap
electricity; * the expantion the electrical grid allowing
rural communities and individual farms/ranches to
have access to the same electricity as the cities; *modern
sewage treatment plants as well as water treatment
plants that provide safe drinking water to the majority
of the country. the point of this is that those expenses
were railed against at the time, yet few are willing to
back to living without any of those things. now is the time
money should be invested in our infrastructure and
focus on getting us off dependence on oil, foreign or
domestic.
ps – sorry for the all lower case, i’m on my daughter’s
laptop and some of the keys are missing, others stick
and the cursor jumps all over the place regardless if
i’m looking or not.
without them
Great points, bad fairie!
I would add that the infrastructure improvements to the electric grid will include the means necessary to transport wind energy from the source to market, and to repair the existing troubles.
Every time there is a major power outage, people get on the talk shows screaming about our need to make improvements to the system, so that outages are not as widespread as they have been in the recent past.
I think we can all agree about our need to repair bridges, as well. These projects are not “make work,” as some projects in the ’30’s were.
But even those make-work projects have proven useful. Think of all the small towns that have an incredibly solid well-built armory that maybe isn’t bein gused by the local National Guard unit, but is sure as hell not abandoned either. Those happened because someone at the Works Progress Administration in the ’30s had a bunch of unskilled or low-skilled workers for whom he needed to find jobs, so he set them to work building that “white elephant” of a bomb-shelter strength structure.
And there are a lot of old, aging dams that are putting communities at risk–at least here in New England. We’ve had some bad scares recently, where another inch of rain could have washed away part of a small city or two.
Two times now, I ‘ve read this comment, and both times I’ve misread “dams” as “dames”. The first sentence, at least, was more imagination-triggering that way.
There is nothing like a Dame!
(I love old musicals!)
Rodgers and Hammerstein FTW!
All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
Peace?
Gladiators?
A really big wall in England?
Ermine Street.
Bath
London
York
Antonine Wall
Lincoln
Antonine wall’s not really a wall… Just a scabby ridge of turf…
How about providing the means for Christianity to become a cohesive and powerful religion? I’d like to thank them for that. /sarcasm
GOVERNMENT doesn’t CREATE JOBS you MORON and LOTS of states and BANKS are telling your savior to stick his communist money where it belongs.
What will it take for you mindless brainwashed idiots to get that this guy is INTENTIONALLY destroying this country?
If the Palin family were democrats, they’d be sucking up about $20,000 a month in welfare, like 2/3 of the fake “president’s” “voters”
I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or idiocy. I’m going with idiocy.
No_bama is a troll. Too far down the autistic spectrum to actually interact
I call NOT-NICE on you, Fester. Let’s not compare people who suffer from autism with trolls. Nobama’s just all juiced up from Beck’s tears and runnin’ off at the mouth.
Unc was being figurative, and, as he has pointed out, we often say “spaz,” despite its association with a medical condition. We all use words like “stupid,” “dumb,” etc., that can be the objects of great offense to those who seek to be offended.
I have personal experience with autism, and wasn’t offended. Considering that the troll ranks on the autistic scale without being autistic is pretty funny, actually.
Do you even know what autism is?
You might want to adjust your tin foil helmet. You seem to be getting some leakage around the nostrils.
Go back to kissing Rush Limbaugh’s ass, Steele!
ummm, yeah numb-nuts, try telling that to the firemen and cops,
the men and women in uniform, your local, state or federal employees,
the educators, the social workers, the medical staff at the state/fed
funded clinics, the construction workers who’s jobs are paid with matching federal to state funds (you know, the people who build the roads you
drive on), the people who work security at airports, shipping ports,
our borders, customs agents, the people who keep airplanes from
flying into each other, the research grant recipeints (sp?) and all the
folk who provide services or goods to these non-existant, non-
government created jobs……
and apologies to any job category i left out….
Our governor, AHNOLD, actually came out and said if other gov’s didn’t want it he’d take it for California. Almost made me like him there for a second. Almost.
Self-righteous senator is too good for dirty socialist monies!
Self-righteous GOVERNOR is too good for dirty socialist monies!
At least, when someone is watching…..
Gov, not Senator…wasn’t thinking.

In actuality Alaska is doing really quite well during this recession, link attached. I know its from Nov. But I did a quick search so I could join the fray. The governor knows what she is doing when it comes to running the state. They are actually expanding jobs right now and not overspending. Largely this is due to the oil they have up there and their ability to make the taxes work for the companies and the citizens. Even the banks their have been relatively unscathed, or so I have heard.
Damn its not linking

Not linking for some reason, try this one
Oh my. It may be time to take off those “Doesn’t Play Well With Others” and “Poor Impulse Control” labels we taped to your forehead. References, no foaming or blather, a point well made, AND a nuanced, non-partisan explanation? WTF? Who are you and what have you done with Fester’s Sock?
still me but I thought this might actually help people to listen. I am a very large conservative, but not a Republican, I think that Sarah Palin is brilliant, thought from the comments above many would disagree with me. I think that her daughter’s pregnancy is an embarrassment to Conservative values, but I also know that it is not my place to judge her either. I said in the other commentary on Sen. Byrd that I was mistaken about you Seth, I cry your pardon gunslinger!
I can totally go with fact and no-yelling phrases.
Okay, here’s a test: Would you agree that governing a prosperous state is not much of a challenge, and that Sarah Palin has not been truly tested, as a result?
Ok, having the inability to cite because I am at work I can only make inferences but all the knowledge that I have gathered insists that while Alaska may be a prosperous state is has done much better because of Palin’s refusal to expand government. She has worked together with her state senate to keep the constituents in mind by not burdening them to pay for colossal government waste. If you look at Louisiana Bobby Jindal has done the same thing. They have lowered tax rates and offered tax breaks to companies that hire and retain employees in LA, hence the reason why Louisiana, while still struggling is not losing jobs by the boatloads, I think I read recently that they actually created 4000 to 5000 jobs over the winter.
MotherGoose I think this would help answer your question, she has stuck to basic conservative ideas and helped her state stay afloat during obviously tough times.
In addition I would like to point out that greedy politicians on both sides with that kind of oil money to work with would/could cause serious damage by their greed by taxing ineffectively. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that government needs to maintain regulation of some things, I just don’t understand why they need all our money to do it.
Here’s a study I read recently that I think kind of supports your theory.
Link.
Yeah I read that from an earlier post you had, I totally understand that government is needed to some degree I just think too much is a bad thing, just like I think there should be no career politicians or 2 party system.
the 2 party system is at fault for a lot of this IMO because people are less likely to vote for a Democrat if they support Republicans and vice versa. Thats why George Washington warned against it in his farewell address.
It’s an interesting point, although I don’t know squat about Alaska…I just think she has an advantage with their oil industry that most states don’t have.
I disagree with your assessment of conservative policies working in Louisiana. The jury is still out on that one, and the causal relationship of job creation is not established.
Your assessment of Alaska’s “colossal” government waste, while possibly true, sounds like rhetoric provided by the right. Neutral sourcing would be key to making that point stick.
What’s actually important is your ability to reason and put forth calm opinions. I will take you seriously as soon as you change to your *OWN* handle. You may not be aware, but there are netiquette rules concerning the use of someone else’s name, and there’s a recent PK history of a troll using Fester’s name, in particular.
Fair enough Rho Rho, I shall forever be known now as Goosef on PK. Although annoying Fester was a great highlight of this name.
Say goodbye to the sock of Fester!
YAY!! I will now trash your ideas and opinions with much glee!
*happy dance*
Look, PK! We now have a third conservative capable of nose breathing!!!
Is it okay to call you “Goose?”
As long as we don’t start a “goose” clan…
Prefer not to be called goose, that’s what I call my wife, you know she’s my co-pilot like in Top Gun. But she doesn’t call me maverick.
Dang it keeps reverting me aback to Fester’s sock
*full disclosure*
I’m not his wife…
@MG: Are you his mother in law?
@Goosef: Try clearing your cache.
There I did it, I became a official member. Shall be Goosef from now on/
@Rho: May daughter’s only 13…so maybe if we were in West Virginia…
@MG: LOLZ!!
@Rho: Do you think we should tell Goosef (nee Fester’s Sock) about the initiation ritual?
You mean about that “thing” we do?
Nah! He’ll find out soon enough…
*gets the sheep, duct tape and ranch dressing for initiation*
Welcome, Goosef! In the name of My Most Royal Majesty, I knight thee. Arise, Sir Goosef of Festersock, *SMACK* Arise, Sir Loin of Beef. *SMACK* Arise, Earl of Cloves. *SMACK* Arise, Duke of Brittingham. *SMACK* Arise, Baron of Munchausen. *SMACK* Arise, Essence of Myrrh, *SMACK* … Milk of Magnesia,*SMACK* … Quarter of Ten. *SMACK* Now for tea, how many lumps do you want?
2 lumps please
Pip Pip cheery-o and all that
*SMACK* *SMACK* there you are!
YEAH!!!!
Looney Tunes reference FTW!
The just indicated I’d annoyed you far more than you could EVER annoy me, since I just enjoyed insulting you… and you rose to the bait every god damned time…
And Rho, it might be conservative rhetoric, but its also a pretty erll known fact that no one ever has “enough” money, look at the Madoff guy, who needs that kind of money, or even the lottery winners who end up broke
because they blow multi-million dollar winnings. Unfortunately greed is a patrt of human nature. I can only speak hypothetically about what might happen with others but we all know that politicians and corruption tend to go
hand in hand.
As for Fester I am not a particularly big fan of his, but then again I have also made an ass of myself in here and deserved to be Gibbs-smacked
(NCIS reference) for the stuff I have said.
*cares for Goosef’s cuts and bruises*
It’ll be ok…
Thanks Ma
Now I am gonna have to get me a cool gravatar so I can be like the other kids
@Goosef: Greed goes to corruption, and
there is nothing partisan about being a
crook. There is nothing partisan about
reform, either.
Back to the point of Sarah Palin being a
good leader, I’m still holding that the
rich state of Alaska does not constitute
a trial by fire (or ice, as it were). When
a state is fat and happy, a governor has
leisure time to get into such endeavors
as reform. With a cadre of staff, it’s
pretty easy to assign the task, and take
the credit, in fact.
Sarah Palin is not the staunch no-waste
person she purports to be. Otherwise,
she wouldn’t have taken the people’s
money as per diem expense to live in
her own house, now would she?
You got me there for now Rho. I am gonna do some research and get back to you on that after work…..
@Goosef: Nobody likes Fester. But Fester is just a CHARACTER, get it? A role. Every forum needs a Fester. The guy playing Fester is awesome, though. Just wait till he drops character, you’ll see. He totally went OOC back when Jane and DWN got in a fight, to smooth things over. I’m sure he’ll hate me now for outing him as the nice guy he really is though.
Ok I will let my gaurd down for the Unc and see what happens, although he has total right to be hateful towards me. I have earned it
I would say we all get it from Fester from time to time; keeps us honest!
When we start talking about who’s where on the political spectrum around here, I always feel left out…I don’t really “fit” well with either extreme.
Whish is why both sides can claim you as ‘one of us’!
*actually likes Fester the character…*
You’re slurring your words! You should lay off the irish coffee, eddie!
*offers Diss a seat by me in the oddly moderate and independent corner. Offers Nachos*
@eddie’s “whish”
lol
whish whoosh I was washing my car, come along a saturday morn..*hic*
@DWN: Oh, hey, nachos!
*noms*
@Eddie: Thanks!
I blame Lynn for getting me into this urge… *bites Diss and then nabs a Nacho*
Welcome to the crazy side. I try to keep the Nachos stocked.
As for Unc, I would have to agree with DWN that there is a lot in him to admire. When he’s not having to whack trolls, he contributes a lot to political discussions. The guy reads EVERYTHING, too. His equal-time disdain for ALL politicians is the stuff of legends, and he’s hard to resist when he goes full-throttle curmudgeon. A lot of times, many of us are *thinking* it, but Unc will *say* it. Unc is the Carlos Mencia of PK in that way.
Where is he today, anyway? Queen invite him to tea or something?
Tech testing… I’m currently mulling a 50Hz blocking filter…
just because I don’t have to work any more, doesn’t mean I don’t have hobbies…
That’s good; just missed you.
We were worried that you were choking the life out of AF.
I’ve been refreshing BBC.com all morning awaiting the story…
LOL
I’d not choke the life out of anyone.

The x-acto may be a reasonable mutilation weapon, but it’s too hit and miss for a killing one…
Can you give me some insight into palin’s brilliance? (I’m actually being serious) I’ve been trying to figure it out…and just because I don’t see it doesn’t mean it might not be…

It’s okay, I came in here all loud and obnoxious too, and I got slapped down just as quick. What confused me was the fact that obvious liberals were also going after me, so I took a step back and looked at what was really going on here, and it made me very happy. I apologized for being a twit and that was that. It’s a very nice place if you’re nice and not too stupid. If you’re mean and stupid, it’s hell.
Similar here… One of the first things I did on this site was to piss off DWN…
He *corrected* my first comment too…
I think the first person I got into it with was HHNF…
I made a crack about ema’s IQ…

Where, DWN? I can’t find any…
Hey, wanna hear my chickadee call? (I’ve been practicing all week!)

Razin-frazin birds…
O_O
What did I “correct” as it were?
I tried to wriggle out of my handcuffs …
Well, when I’m right, I’m right…
Sounds like I am in good company then, although I think DWN found my humor to be quite enjoyable last night.
Oh yes, I try to be forgiving and take good humor where I can find it. It is pretty much my job so I tend to do it here too.
So you don’t work for the Department of Motor Vehicles…
No… I deal with what could easily be considered the other end of ubr’s job.
Financial mis-management?
lol!
Something like that.
You break knees?
@Uncle Fester: Service with a smile…
Jolly good… always shake their hand, tell them it’s not personal, and, unless told otherwise, do it clean. If you like, send flowers.
Of course, no need to be a jerk.
Seth, I think you and Jane are the only one’s remaining from when I first came here, and maybe herb (if that’s the same herb.) At the time I got roasted pretty good by both of you!
I for one am glad you’re still here, I couldn’t stand this place if it became a total liberal circle jerk. That’s why I don’t read dailykos anymore.
Oh, and I think ema is still around, but she doesn’t post anymore. But I would guess that she’s lurking out there. If so, hey ema!!!
-
I like the people here, and even the trolls add a bit of fun.
*feels left out*
-
Ema socked. you go over the archives, she talked both sides.
Nut bucket.
Hugs for froofrou, who knows she’s my favorite Christian conservative ever.
Doh! Sorry froo, I wasn’t exactly sure when you joined the festivities.
Ditto–although I’m afraid Froofrou is only my second favorite.
(My first has to be a friend I’ve known since 1974!)
I’m actually not sure when I came in……I can vividly recall my first LOL to post on, though. It was the picture of the Palin family, with an arrow pointing to ‘Russia’ back behind them. As far as when that was, I’m not sure, LOL.
-
Seth, you and I have had enough conversations to know that you’re my favorite socialist liberal Commie ever, hehe.
-
Eds, I’m glad I’m on your side, too! It’s nice having someone with a brain here to represent the Right! I’d get so discouraged were it not for you!
I would jump in more often but I think the time difference plays against me. By the time I get to the good posts, it’s already over and I’m just sitting down to my first cup o’ coffee. You might have noticed that the parting shot in a lot of the threads are mine..
Oh, and for what it’s worth, I’m glad that EP and MB aren’t around. They really made the right look like a tribe of raving loons. At least now were considered half baked.
Ditto. *sigh* PK takes my shift at work as a prime time to die, wo while I am here in the evenings and want to play, normal people are off having dinner with their families and doing that weird thing that people call ’sleeping’. I’m not sure what that is anymore, but I seem to remember it being nice.
50% of the people on here are 50% baked 50% of the time…
lol
I am trying to remember who I clicked with first here. I remember Lolnathan making fuss over my mild juvenile humor with Froofrou backing me and I believe Eds and Seth too. Of course, now I shall like a jerk because I can’t remember if there was other names.
*shall feel like a jerk.
Stupid typos.
Heehee I liked it better before:
I shall like a jerk, madam, before supper.
lol
You could still like a jerk if you want. I’m sure that So, Mike’s Cerebrum, or Anniee are lurking somewhere. And I’m sure that they all need love too.
That’s because Megabob was more than 70% of the right wing posters here
I shall call him Sybil. And he shall be mine. And he shall be My Sybil.
@Froo:
You mean *this* LOL, dated 19 September?
[LINK]
LOL, and the Archivist strikes again! Tell me, do you wear a mask and a cape, or is that optional clothing?
Is there any clothing that isn’t optional?
Well, when I tried to take ‘Casual Friday’ to it’s limit and just not wear clothes, they got mad at me.
That’s the best part of my job! It’s as casual as I damn well please, and clothing is truly optional.
I never wear my mask and cape in the tub. They’re “Dry Clean Only.” Other than bath time, I usually opt for staying relatively clad, though. It cuts down on mosquito spray.
Where do you work again?
@DWN: I work at my computer, most often in my living room…
But actually, last time my boss called to suggest a meeting at the office and I said I’d be there as soon as I changed form bath robe to clothes, his opinion was that it’d be pretty awesome if I’d actually walk to the office in my bath robe. ;p
Alas, the weather did not allow that.
@froo: That’s very oppressive of them. :/
This is the only place I’ve ever worked where HR didn’t have to wear busines clothes. That’s the saving grace. At least I can wear jeans every day, and actually be comfortable in my tennis shoes instead of wearing slacks, a skirt, or heels to look ‘right’.
Where’s ema? She’s another old school PK righty I respect. I miss her.
The Daily Kos is full of irritating, whining, cretins.
Uncle Fester,
I owe you a tremendous apology for being an arse in this forum
if you like you gladly can beat me for the things I have posted, but i still thought you deserved my apology.
Cry your pardon!
It takes a big man to admit he’s been an ass. I respect that, and welcome you to ‘our side’
thanks. so you are conservative as well?
As to Frou’s alignment… I think it depends on how you define ‘conservative’
If it’s like ‘Conservapedia’ then no, she’s not…
How about not for big government or big taxes?
That makes me a conservative.
And is no fan of career politicians, on either side? And thinks
there is nothing wrong with gun ownership?
Career politicos – Scum of the earth
gun ownership – with mandatory training, periodic testing of proficiency and care, no problem at all… you’d not let a toddler or someone mentally incompetent play with razor blades, so I don’t see that training and retesting is a bad thing, if properly administered.
I can agree with that!
I’m on board with all of the above (after froo’s post).
Gee, maybe we’re *all* conservatives…
We’re all Froo-servatives.
*bows* I shall call you all my minions, and assign the costumes accordingly
I saw Laura Ingraham sit in for O’Reilly last night (it’s my masochist side…) and I thought it was funny that she was railing on the “New Baby Boom” and how 40% of babies are born to unwed mothers…and not one word about Bristol…hmmmm…then she goes on about the Liberal-left wing-smear campaigns and conspiracy theories and how Planned Parenthood will be teaching Sex Ed and that they won’t be teaching abstinence…hmmm…How did abstinence work out for the Palin family?
It worked perfectly! The baby was clearly conceived through God and is the second coming…
Antichrist, perhaps?
No, silly, the antichrist is in the white house, remember
No…no!! How many times does Tim LaHaye have to tell you!! The Antichrist isn’t a Socialist!!!
I’m lenin in the direction of seeing it from multiple engels.
I’ll marx your words…
In that case, will hugo get a chavez and a haircut?
This conversation is making me nietzsche!
Go cry evo kid .

I’ve been Stalin on getting my haircut…
I’d like to know Ho Chi Mhinaged it.
Mao you must remember,
it’s always darkest before zedong.
Don’t be Putin off till tmorrow what could be done today…

Dude got busted with 660 lbs. of weed…imagine how much he DIDN’T get busted for…
This is a pun run, so Chernov the dialogue and Victor the program!
Andropov all the talk about weed…
Ganga try to stay on topic for once?
Not in this joint…
I would toke that one with a grain of salt.
Bud I have high blood pressure, too much salt…
why does everyone have to be so damn clever early in the morning
‘Cuz its FRIDAY!!!!!! (and it’s 1:45pm here…)
I can sensi your enthusiasm.

Your wit leaves me serrated.
Even if used a spliff infinitive.
*if you used
I’ve gone to pot.
OH no, I think you’re doing a bong-up job.
I find her sincerity doobie-ous.
Hey – for that you have to rho your own!
I highly disapprove of these dopey puns.
Huh huh……funny lines.
You must be reefering to our primo thread.
Hmmmm….. Obama just quadrupled the deficit. The perfect time to obsess over the love life of a teenager.
Oh look — a shiny!
lol
Heh. ADD voturz are ADD.
Spending out of trouble worked for Reagan…
sorry, but Obama is several orders of magnitude beyond anything on this one.
So is the pathetic state of the economy…
*zing*
I’m not sure any one is obsessing over it… the Right want to bury it, the left are busy being in government…
Yeah…I wouldn’t say I’m obsessing over Bristol Palin. I just love her and want to keep her with me forever and ever.
-
*clutches home-made Bristol Palin doll*
-
Don’t worry Little Bristol. I’ll help you take care of the baby.
Once again, I deeply admire your sense of humor.
*curtsies*
That the point … nobody on the “right” is trying to “bury” this. It’s an irrelevancy.
I read that Bristol is the one who broke up with Levi, not the other way around. But, then, you know how accurate the media can be about such things.
Oh, they’ve broken up? Our silly radio apparently thinks American gossip isn’t necessary to report on. ;p
*mutters*
Levi is soon to be dating Paris Hilton, followed by a brief stint on Sober House…
**Bristol** soon to be dating Paris Hilton, THAT would be da NOOZ…
Dang! I would pay to see that–you KNOW there would be video!!
I would pay to see Sarah react to that!
I’d pay to not have to see it.
Of course it is!
It might be me just listening to the wrong channel. It is possible we have some channel which has its priorities straight and have reported this event!
*Sigh*
There seems to be a worldwide conspiracy to report the wrong things: I didn’t find out til today either…
They tend not to report anything of importance…
somehow this news doesn’t surprise me. the majority of teen mothers that stay with the father end up either breaking it off sooner or later. it was bound to happen; as pessimistic as that is. Even the adult break up/divorce rate is outrageous. Makes me not want to get married lol
well, how many people stay with their high school friends? I know that i grew apart from some of them. it’s just a matter of growing up, which i’m happy bristol did a bit to be honest. staying with Levi wouldn’t be helpful if they were just doing it to be forced, that’s not good for anyone.
*cough*Lynn and I have been together for 9 years since high school*cough*
Forced is never good when it comes to being together. I never expected them to stay together in the first place. A relationship as a sideshow spectacle tends to sour things.
Some folks luck out early in life. Then there’s the rest of us! And I’ve observed that babies tend to…complicate things. Little blessings, but complicated ones!
Our oldest nearly complicated things right out for us but we took that moment to actually discuss things out and came out stronger for it. I can’t imagine not having him around.
Exactly. They can complicate things right out of existence…or encourage one to figure things out. Depends on the couple, and sometimes the circumstances.
Amen.
You DWN, are a delightful outlier, and should be proud that you’ve made it so far.
I certainly am though I might consider choking this infant at 3 in the damn morning…
no it can’t! it can only get better! so many good things come from being forced into them! I mean, look at… wait… I think I confused that with willing. Oh well.
Congrats though. I’m still friends with many of my high school friends but my closest ones were the first to go. Now people I barely talk to are the sh!t ^^
Hey look, it’s that daughter noone cares about anymore and shouldn’t have cared about to begin with. Lets forget about them and not keep posting this crap.
Oh come on, it’s not every day such comedy gold comes along. Even Bush didn’t wasn’t as much fun to mock. Though that could have been the fact I could never quite shake the fear that he’d nuke mistake Britain for Iran and nuke us.
Just be glad it isn’t Ms. New Jersey from that teen pageant. If she were in charge of the red buttons then I’d be concerned for your safety as well.
“Just be glad it isn’t Ms. New Jersey from that teen pageant. ”
`
I think you mean Miss South Carolina? New Jersey has enough problems as it is, thank you!
*shrug* I can’t remember, it’s been so long. sorry lol
When François Mitterrand, ex President of France died, his wife invited his mistress and his illegitimate daughter to the funeral. The affair had been an ‘open secret’ for decades, though his daughter Mazerine’s name had been kept from the press to protect her until she reached college age. When a reporter had the temerity to interrupt the funeral procession to ask his wife how she felt about having his mistress in the procession, she replied coldly, “That is family business and none of yours.” THAT is how a country should deal with consensual sex in politics.
Too few classy women in the world today…
So long as it is consensual, fine with me.
If it were me in the Mrs.’s position, with my dude stepping out w/o my consent? There would have been Bobbit-izing.
But I am labeled ‘viking’ after all…
Makes sense for a viking.
…and I can’t be everywhere at once…
Arguably, although she’s not my favorite person, that’s not far off from how Hillary dealt with the issue of Bill’s infidelities; for which I have to give her some credit. In other words, if there were any comments or repercussions they were dealt with completely in private. (If I recall correctly — if I don’t, I’m sure someone here will correct me!)
I still would have respected her more if Bill had shown up just one day with a black eye.
Hells yeah!
~
FWIW, I didn’t trust her to be president for that reason — either she didn’t know what was going on in her own house, or didn’t care. Either way, I can’t fathom trusting the country to someone with that level of “meh.”
~
No need to lambaste me for it, I know I’m an asshat for thinking this way!
Maybe she didn’t care because he was that good and it was from all the practice… /being a pest
LOL!
Or she just a great at delegating tasks to the experts in the White House…
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Bill is obviously an incorrigible horn-dog, and Hillary… well, she seems kinda sexless. She was probably relieved he wasn’t pestering her to suck on this, put that up there, get down on all fours, put on that french maid’s outfit…
OMG! Hillary in a French maid’s outfit! BRAIN BLEACH!!!
Nah, Bill would be wearing the maid’s outfit.
Hillary would be the one in leather!
“either she didn’t know what was going on in her own house, or didn’t care. ”
`
You think? I think she knew, and cared plenty, but put a good appearance on things in public (insofar as you can put a good face on something like that). I have absolutely no trouble imagining Hill saying to a reporter something like, “I have faith in my husband, and in any case, our marriage is our own business”, and then, as they’re walking to the car, hissing in Bill’s ear through clenched teeth, “you are DEAD MEAT, Buster!”.
I seem to remember Jackie Kennedy knowing about all the shenanigans that John had in the White House, and she kept her aplomb. Once again, I would have respected them as WOMEN had they left the men with a black eye just once. You know, just to teach them a lesson
-
At the very least, the ’stand by your man’ crap got old after a while.
I read somewhere that Jackie moved the kids to a farm outside of Washington, DC for JFK’s administration. The kids were brought to the White house for photo ops, but mostly grew up in Virginia. But I can’t remember where, an dI’m not finding it with a fast google. So maybe not.
But then again women were expected to put up with their slutty husbands in those days. Especially women married to Kennedy males. Sigh.
I seem to remember reading that Jackie freaked out at the picture with John John under the desk in the Oval Office. She didn’t want the kids photographed or brought into public life at all. She seemed like a really good person with her priorities in order, who just happened to marry a scumbag for a husband.
Yup. Agreed.
I gather she married Onassis, because he could provide privacy for the kids to grow up safely.
The relationship with Maurice Templeton was just for herself. I’m glad she had that…
I read the same thing. JFK brought the kids into the Oval Office during one of Jackie’s trips, because he knew she would never approve.
Mrs Nixon hid for two months while her face healed…
“Lets forget about them and not keep posting this crap.”
`
*cries*
LEAVE BRISTOL ALONE!!
FDR moved his mistress into the White House…
Don’t you mean Ms. South Carolina?
Don’t care. But she is pretty hot…
Ya, I am a strawberry flavored sucker for the cuddly woman body type as well.
As my husband is fond of saying when he sees a picture of her: “Woohoo!!! Boobies!!! That kid’s never gonna starve if she’s breastfeeding!!!”
I love boobs. I’ve been watching through my Bruce Lee collection again and my son loves them and I’ve noticed something. The women we cast have been getting skinnier and skinnier. Rather disturbs me. Even the petite women in those movies look soft and inviting where I see too many women that remind me of Yip Dogs in form and disposition.
As Lynn noted, even when a lot of “beauties” are smiling nowadays, you can’t help but see b!tchy attitude behind it. Like everything about them is fake and their diet is making them grouchy.
Then again, perhaps I am thinking into it too much.
No, no…I’m pretty skinny because of genetics, but I’ve often said that I wish we could go back to the days where actresses and models had “curves”…
She’s hot because she looks ’soft’ without being fat. Not only that, she has a great pair of chest pillows that fit her body type, they’re not too big, but plenty big enough.
Definitely a breast man myself….but it’s not about huge, it’s all about shape and how they’re carried, even a small B cup can be damn inviting on the right woman!
Here here, The Steve.
@MG: There is a marked difference between nature and starvation and is duly taken into account by this admirer of feminine form.
Three words, DWN…Venus of Willendorf!
LOL, is this where we break into song about Fat Bottom Girls?
Amen, brother. Loves me some Queen, too!
~
More cushin’ for the pushin’!
Well if you are going to spank the @ss, there has to be an @ss to spank…
As a good friend of mine once said about his wife:
~
Acres and acres of ass, boys, and it’s all mine.
lol
*facepalm*
I forgot the last part.
Acres and acres of ass, boys, and it’s all mine to plow.
~
Did I mention Rhod is a rancher?
Sounds like a happy man or a tired wife…
Or vice versa.
She’s also pregnant and eighteen and sexually active. All three of those things tend to make a young woman’s body curvier and cushier and all three of those things change when she gets older. But she’s still a very cute kid no matter what. Good chromosomes, that family.
“even when a lot of “beauties” are smiling nowadays, you can’t help but see b!tchy attitude behind it. Like everything about them is fake and their diet is making them grouchy.”
`
No great surprise there. Between the starvation diets, the 8 hours a day of aerobics, the hair bleach, the hot wax, and the plastic surgery stitches, they must be in pain 24/7. I’d be grouchy, too.
And definitely not in a mood to put out.
Well of course not! They don’t put ANYTHING in their orifices that might make them gain an ounce, even for the briefest of instants!
Sad really but only for society. I has my cuddle kitten.
LOL, yes, I suspect there’s women out there who know the calorie count of the average ejaculation and would duly note it in their daily total. Bizarre.
So they have a blow job limit each day. To hell with that. I’ll stick with my girl who is crazy enough to think I am antidepressant and candy and may her insanity never be cured.
If it tastes REALLY sweet, you may want to have your pancreas checked…
…or stay away from pineapple juice.
Considering most guys are avid meat eaters, keep in mind that red meat apparently makes semen taste more acidic. Hmm, nothing like the taste of acid to end off a wonderful night of sexual fun.
To sweeten up your inner load, drink plenty of pineapple juice, and eat bananas and papaya. Their sweetness results in yours. And of course, lest we forget that parsley can do wonders for men worldwide — it eliminates body odor, freshens breath and improves the taste of seminal fluid.
~
Fruits like kiwi, watermelon, celery, and pineapple are all said to make semen taste lighter. Beer and coffee are believed to have something of an opposite effect, and could leave her with a bitter taste in the mouth. Alkaline-based foods like meat and fish produce a buttery taste, while acidic fruits (cranberries, blueberries and plums) produce a pleasant, sugary flavor. Most liqueurs will do the same, while dairy products can make for a foul taste because of their high bacterial putrefaction level
~
LOL!
Link.
My hubby and I found that out through experience. There are certain foods which make it taste HORRIBLE!! But, if he sticks to citrus juices and other things that are healthy, it makes it a lot sweeter.
-
I have no idea if Fester is right about diabetes having a role, but it stands to reason that it would, as a diabetic’s breath goes fruity sweet when they are running a high sugar.
I didn’t say ‘diabetes’ per se… I just said pancreatic function.
and it would have to be VERY sweet
Suspect? I’ve overheard it in conversation! If you male folk really like recieving oral sex, I recommend you’all start advocating for healthier body images in women, stat!
*headdesk*
…and my theory is confirmed. Wow. I mean, it’s got to be a negligible amount anyway, right? (Not that I’m going to start keeping track…I pretty much eat what I feel like and don’t worry about it, which oddly enough means I have a pretty stable weight!)
C’mon, Bristol, it’s only 5 – 7 calories, and it’s rich in ascorbic acid, enzymes, protein, phosphate, and zinc! Think of little Levi Junior!
Can’t forget that it does have antidepressant qualities too and great for skin…
The 18-22 year old crowd would rather be skinny and depressed, sorry to say.
Lynn was rather happy… Least once I got a hold of her.
is it really an antidepressant? also…i don’t know why anyone would want to stay depressed. it’s just….awful.
Damned if I can remember the source but I stashed that little nugget in my brain and apparently it does wonders for Lynn’s mood. As for depression, yes it is awful but I am turning down that form of medication, no thanks, I’ll just suffer.
*cue Ceiling Cat to banish me again after this post*
Can semen cure the blues?
~
Link for DWN!
PK ate my previous post, so look for your answer on PsyBlog—disagrees with Observer’s Salon article. The author noticed that the respondents to the study who wore condoms ALL THE TIME were the least depressed of all. So condom use is probably a sign of self-esteem/mental organization, rather than conflicting with a prostaglandin ‘upper’. Sorry guys!
I saw that one, too, viking gal, but didn’t want to be a “downer”
lol
*snort*
Thanks for the above info on a guy’s diet and his…emissions. I’ve forwarded it to someone who might find himself getting a little more lucky as a result!?
LOL! Seriously!
~
Nope. ROFL now!
I’m a veritable font of…
*gasping for air*
Hey, all good! Another guy assisted with his cardiovascular health!
Yeah, but you are a relatively sane woman. I teach 18-22 year olds, and live in eastern MA/AKA college central. Sometimes what I overhear makes me wonder how the species continues to exist! –and sometimes it helps me understand–oh the ignorance about contraception!!!
“Relatively” being the keyword there…
Yeah, I was kind of an idiot at that age myself, as I recall.
Eh, total sanity is over-rated. I mean how sane can I
be–I teach science, and like it!?!
12 calories.
-
Wait, what?
“I suspect there’s women out there who know the calorie count of the average ejaculation”
`
I remember reading somewhere that it’s about 16 calories on average (no, I don’t know how they arrived at that number). I personally think life is way too short to worry about that few calories, but ladies (or gentlemen) who opt not to swallow might be reminded that it’s also very good for skin.
Be like schtupping a bicycle anyway.
It’s the redneck thugs she’s related to (and seems to have a taste for screwing) that would have put me off at that age…
Point taken, while I was raised in MS, I dropped a lot of the redneck sensibility since it conflicted with reality. Considering that she decided to become a cliche by banging a football idiot, I would know better. Besides, I wouldn’t be in her tastes anyway nor would I want anything to do with a politician’s daughter. I’m just admiring the pretty package.
I would point out that you don’t have to be an idiot to play football, but given that you’re talking about Levi Johnston….although actually, isn’t he a hockey idiot? Anyway, going off the radar for a while, everyone have a good weekend!
True, true but I was discussing the cliche’ more than the people in sports. Sports idiot is sports idiot, my bad.
At least you didn’t say “Special Olympics…”
I found an interesting niche. The whole ‘macho bullshit’ thing seemed pointless. However, I liked shopping.
I like shopping if I actually have money and my line of toys is a tad expensive so I don’t get to do it much, so it is the typical male Shopping with a Goal for me most days. I can dig a bit of Macho in my life but I prefer video game murder to group showers with other dudes.
Ididn’t mean for me… I sort of aced the straight ‘Gay Best Friend’ thing…
Since I got married, I’m banned from helping girl friends shop for underwear…
I don’t have any girl friends to help underwear shop… Or Gay Best Friends. Perhaps I don’t like shopping as much as I thought because bothering with stuff I can’t grab just makes my brain twitch…
“A pretty face, don’t make no pretty heart…
I learned that, buddy, from the start…”
Well, the things I notice from the start about her is the conservative look, the hairstyle that annoys me, and she looks like she was a boring lay. I’ve noticed that a number of girls just have pretty going for them, they lack an inquisitive nature or at least a dirty side to make it worth the shotgun.
… I need to quantify the conservative look statement since it doesn’t make sense in its context. It ties into the whole boring thing. I understand the fire behind the eyes of a librarian but you can actually see that fire. I don’t see any fire in those eyes. I see a bit of meh.
Again, probably overthinking it.
Dead behind the eyes?
Ya, that… A bit like a doll with that odd hair of hers.
That might be from the ‘headlights’ of the press cameras?
Vapid. The word I’m pretty sure you’re looking for is vapid.
Behind my name… NSFW!
If I were holding that blockhead’s hand, I’d have a “meh,” too!
“Cept i’td be more of a “save meh.”
~
Totally get the hot librarian thing: like a volcano under a glacier, and you’re the fissure.
Just remember the plain librarian who is a tiger in bed. You can’t always judge the crazy book by the less than average cover
Who are these people again? And why do I care about them?
You do? That is vaguely worrying.
What I think is real funny about this LOL….if I Rush Limbaugh were to say something about the Obama children, you would go nuts. But most people here think that Palin’s family is fair game to denegrade, who are the hypocrites now?
You’re forgetting one big ingredient here: Palin’s Abstinence-Only
curriculum stance.
… which as nothing to do with whatever reasons these two actually have for getting married… or not doing so.
Did you read the thread? I can’t see any Bristol-bashing, really.
(And what ρρ said.)
where did Michael mention “bashing”?
Well. If I assume that “denegrade” means “denigrate”, it’s not that far off “bashing”. I might be a bit wobbly on the nuances of those words, though – it wouldn’t be the first time.
Reading is that silly little thing you could have done to prevent making a drive-by post lacking substance.
You’re Rush Limbaugh?
IIRC Rush had a lot to say about Britney Spears’ little sister getting up the duff…
Does anyone REALLY care what these two are doing? Why are they still in the news?
There are still leftist conspiracy theorists who insist that Trig is really Bristol’s child and that this new baby (Trick or Treat?) was born a couple months later than claimed. My guess is that between Kos’ hysteria on the subject at the time and the apparently ongoing fear/smear campaign against Sarah Palin, there are those who concern themselves with such trivia. Why, I can’t pretend to guess. Probably just vapid idiots.
There are rightist nut jobs who insist that the CIA have fabricated Obama’s natal records…
Any thoughts on that as ’smear’?
The difference here is that none of these “rightist nut jobs” have jobs in mainstream media. The leftie conspiracy types have jobs in “respectable” magazines, etc.
Lawdy, Bristol’s a cute kid. That’d be so neat if she turned out to be not only smarter than her mother, but politically emancipated too. Then again, a plate of liver pate’ is smarter than her mother.
What do have against pâté?
Hehe. Well, I said it’s smarter.
I kinda feel like this joke has been a bit over-used.
…Kinda like Bristol Palin.
Oh jeez. Front page with this one, huh? Pfft.
Too soon, after the break-up, huh?
Anniee’s just mad that she stumbled across this site again after promising to leave
What a lying sack of sh*t. I leave you to your doggie threads when I’m done with them, and the site isn’t on my blogroll – as to the site, I’ve promised NOT to leave. Sorry to burst your bubble, pup.
come on, you’ve flounced a few times then come back to be a loud cretin time after time…
Their what? Who cares? Sounds like a personal problem, to me. About as interesting as wondering if Paris and Nicole are friends again or not. I don’t read gossip rags.
This lol ignores, of course, that she broke up with him. Shocked, I’m not.
