  6. What good is a hot wife if your willy doesn’t work?

    • ubr says:

that’s why he’ll be the next viagra spokesman… it’s what dole did after he lost back in 96…

    • Paul says:

Er, by no stretch of the imagination does John McCain have a hot wife, unless he’s hiding something.

On the other hand, he still has my respect. I disagree with him on a lot of things, but he is a decent person with a strong history of service to the United States.

      • slan agat says:

Sorry, but he lost my respect in September and he surely hasn’t earned it back.

He spent the whole month telling the most scandalous lies he could get away with, and when he was called on it in public his response was that the campaign wouldn’t have gotten ugly if Obama had agreed to the proposed schedule of a dozen town hall style debates.

That’s like the worst manipulative bastard you knew in high school, the one everyone thought would grow up to be a rapist, who responded to a girl refusing to go out with him by telling lies about her all over school.

        • But but… His dignity!!!? He was stood up! This calls for murder, rape, and more than a few nasty rumors… On second thought, he lost the spryness for rape and murder so he settled for the nasty rumors.

        • Paul says:

Well, yes, he certainly didn’t behave respectably during the campaign. I’m managing to convince myself that it was a case of “the party made him do it”. The John McCain we’ve come to know over the years is certainly a better person than the guy we saw for most of the Presidential campaign.

I’m willing to cut him slack for his behavior during the campaign, though yes, it’d be nice if he’d apologize for it.

It’s her that is doing the hiding. Go back to last fall’s lols, and there is this amazing photo of her without her usual jacket-camouflage. I’m not in to the botoxed and lifted face thing, but she has one amazing upper body…

    IMPEACH OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anybody who hates me for that should know that us americans have freedom of speech. we should enjoy it while it lasts… :D

    • ubr says:

can you just yell out “first!!!!!11!!!11!!!1″ next time? it makes the page load faster…

    • George says:

Just poppin’ by to remind you that freedom of speech does not mean that everyone has to agree with you. Or even like you.

    • lauren says:

I AGREE WITH YOU! hahaha :)
Obama is going to bring this country down.

      • gobo says:

Don’t you think that if America fall’s due to this economic crisis (highly improbable by the way) it will have more to do with what Bush did while in office? Obama didn’t cause the problem, he’s simply left trying to fix it. To be honest him taking on the presidency was a bit like taking a poison chalice.

      • n8 says:

The republicans already brought it down, or weren’t you paying attention? Never mind, silly question.

      • Eric-in-STL says:

I love the “Obama is gonna ruin this country” crap. Haven’t these people noticed that this country has already pretty much been shot to hell during the last 8 years? I demand an answer, dagnabbit!

      • i hate everything says:

THANK YOU!!!! FINALLY ONE OF THESE MORONS IN THIS WORLD UNDERSTANDS WHAT OBAMA CAN DO TO US!!!!!

    • The Steve says:

      Impeach him for WHAT?!?

I respect your freedom of speech, but I don’t respect your freedom to be a moron. Back it up with reasoning or GTFO.

    • Veslfen says:

I thought I explained the particularly shitty logic here on another caption the LAST time you tried to pull this little stunt. Maybe I need to use smaller words? FREEDOM OF SPEECH=/= FREEDOM FROM BEING ATTACKED VERBALLY BY OTHERS FOR EXPRESSING YOUR OPINION. YOU ARE AN ASSHAT. GOOD DAY TO YOU.

    • i hate everything says:

ok you idiots i would like to point out AGAIN everyone is entitled to their own opinion so if you dont like what i said, i really dont care. and, i got some reasons he should be impeached:

      • he is a socialist
      • he announced on TV when we are taking the troops home! if you dont get it, basically he revealed to the enemies when they can attack us :(
      • “impeach him for WHAT?!” guess what? SCREW YOU!! :D haha
      • he believes in spreading the wealth. that means he will tax the rich and give money to all the people who dont work hard for their cash. get the picture yet?
      • there are already websites that are selling bumper stickers and t-shirts that say “impeach obama” or a picture of a hammer and a sickle (my new favorite symbol)
      • he said that he will “change the world”. hell yea he will change it! he will make America, technically the only non-socialist country, into a socialist country.
      • the stock market goes down occasionally when he is on TV at times.
      • last week he said that we are in serious trouble, now he says it isnt that bad. (the economy) so confusing…
      • he refuses to give away his birth certificate. for you slow people i will explain. he doesnt want to give away his birth certificate or any medical info because that could me he is either A): not a citizen of the u.s. or B): there is something that might be embarrassing or revealing there. watch Fox News more often to know what im talking about!
      • this probably doesnt count as a reason but would you want a president who would die of old age (Mc Cain) or a president who would die from a possible assassination (his Highness :D lol)?
      • most, for sure NOT all but most, black or african/american people have earned a pretty crappy reputation over the years. Martin Luther King Jr., slaves, is this coming back to you? and yea, ok sure, we made history. an african/american dude is president, but he really isnt helping the reputation of african/americans though, dont you think?
      • that stimulus bill passed didnt it?

well, there are a lot of other reasons, but for now, i guess i will leave it at that! oh yea, and if you think im a cruel, mean, rude, or stupid person for saying this stuff, too bad. *shrugs* you can torture me when the re-elections come and obama is still in office at that time and biden isnt the president. :)

      • Danbala says:

watch Fox News more often to know what im talking about
        :D

        • Uncle Fester says:

That was comedy gold… I was laughing at point 1…Is there a single state where being a ’socialist’ is even a misdemeanour, let alone a crime… If it’s not Poe’s law, then America *needs* a god, since its people are trying to drag it back to the level not even the natives had been since before they crossed the land bridge from Siberia…

          • rhorho says:

Agreed! This post was funnier than the last 20 LOLs put together!

Kudos!! IHE is the CHAMPION!! :D

            • Eric-in-STL says:

I tried to read all of that, but the complete lack of coherence made it very confusing for me. My head hurts.

              • rhorho says:

Read it again, but pretend it was written by a master of Poe’s
Law satire. The incoherence is part of the funny!

hi, just a quick note, If you have ever felt slighted or treated poorly by fellow posters write me.
im at zenstorm@wordpress.com…love to hear from you.

    impeach obama

    • Uncle Fester says:

Hello there, I’ll be slighting you today…
      you’re an idiot.
Impeach old jug ears for what? Holding to the plan laid out by Bush on the Bail out? Being black?
You’re a licker of the afterbirth of dogs and your mother despises you as a despoiler of sheep…

    • What if I’ve felt slighted or treated poorly by people in real life? You starting a support group for the mistreated? ;-)

Ya know, everybody gets their tail stepped on once in a while around here; it’s not kindergarten. More like the locker room for the debate team — you can get snapped in the a$$ with a wet towel and called out for your fallacious reasoning at the same time!

    • n8 says:

Did it ever occur to you that, if every losing party in an election immediately begins efforts to find a way to impeach the victor, then the country will never be able to move forward? We will be hopelessly mired in “back at’cha b*tch” proceedings and we’ll never get anything of any worth accomplished. Is that your grand vision for America?

      • Anniee451 says:

Of course. But it’s just as stupid the way so many people are calling for a show trial of Bush & Co., and just as counterproductive. Imagine if every new administration came in and spent their first 4 years trying the past administration. Hmm. Actually, considering it’s best and least dangerous when government doesn’t DO things, maybe that’s all a great way to do it. Keep them all busy trying and charging one another (just keep them on a reasonable budget for it) and we can be free to live our lives again…the market recovers and the government is out of our lives.

I like it. Try Bush and Rove! Impeach Obama and Emanuel!

        • n8 says:

Actually, considering it’s best and least dangerous when government doesn’t DO things, maybe that’s all a great way to do it.

The people of New Orleans would like a word…

          • Uncle Fester says:

Anniee laughed at that, since they were relying on socialist ideals to get them out… ‘Real Americans’ would have valued their chance to loot and drown in freedom from Federal interference…

            • Anniee451 says:

Real Americans would have volunteered in sufficient numbers.

Except that’s beside the point because it was a GROSS failure on the part of the Mayor of New Orleans – ever see the thousands of buses drowned? The ones he COULD have had a plan for, that were blocks from stranded people? Get serious.l

        • rhorho says:

So, you’re pro torture/anti Geneva conventions, too?

          Why am I not shocked?

  13. zenstorm says:

  14. nonzerosum says:

I doubt even the beer makes up for what is no doubt a continuing sense of inferiority with respect to his father and grandfather, both four-star admirals. John Boy spent his Navy career crashing planes and bullying comrades. He’d have been busted out of the force in minutes but for his family history. He could have made up for it all by attaining the position of POTUS and therefore CinC, outranking daddy and grandad, but he didn’t. In that respect, he belongs three columns to the right.

That aside, the best man won. Obama obviously isn’t going to turn the US into some sort of communist dystopia, so everyone can stop wetting their panties. The real issue for the GOP is whether they can move away from the frothing religious right of the Sarah Palins of this world and start dealing with serious policy again, in which everyone can take an interest. If they’d stop sticking their noses into individuals’ private lives and recast themselves as the objectively-minded champions of liberty and opportunity in both an economic AND social context, they could wipe the floor with the Democrats. But I bet they won’t.

    • SockSock come and get me fester says:

Yeah the best man won alright and he is doing considerable damage with his minions in Congress. I guess you would see that if you weren’t blind with hatred for Republicans and Conservatives.

And by the way, THIS is why George Washington warned us against the 2 party system!

      • Uncle Fester says:

Stinking Bishop is a cheese sticky orange rind with a pungent and spirited aroma. The texture can vary from firm to soft and creamy depending on the season. Dipped in Cider, it is said to have the odour of old, well worn socks.

      • n8 says:

Considerable damage to your entrenched power structure, yes. No wonder Rushie boy wants to see Obama fail. His worst nightmare is a Democratic president making this country a better place.

        • rhorho says:

A lot of people don’t understand that simple fact: Limbaugh looks out for
Limbaugh. His ratings will plummet if Obama is successful. A popular,
successful Obama is Limbaugh’s worst nightmare. A damned, suffering
nation is Limbaugh’s sexiest dream. Limbaugh is the Walmart of the
          airwaves.

      • Anniee451 says:

Yeah, he is. It’s stunning how people can deny the historic and mammoth proportions of what he’s *already* signed into law – the federalization of your doctor’s visits (and mine – which sets the structure in place for socialization, now in the works), doubling and tripling of the debt (in no time flat!) and a budget proposal so insane that no one even thinks he’s serious. Plus an endless parade of staff that are criminals and tax cheats (I guess it was better than the racists and terrorists, but still), many of whom are Clinton retreads and I feel like I’m in the 90s again. To deny that these things are all dystopian and most definitely socialist/communist is beyond ridiculous.

        • n8 says:

What’s beyond ridiculous is your implicit claim to know anything about the ideologies of socialism and communism, and your implicit suggestion that we’re going to become the new Soviet Union. You say you feel like you’re in the 90’s again, but I wonder if you were around for any of the cold war at all.

The only socialism in the works is a repair of social welfare systems (medicare, medicaid, federally backed housing lenders) that were in place since the time of FDR. If they were so ideologically poisonous, why then did subsequent Republican administrations not do away with them?

The truth, the absolute fundamental truth about this “OMG Socialism!” outcry is that the ideology of Reagan is being exposed for the fallacy that it is and fed into the shredder of history, and those with vested interests in that ideology are fighting back the only way they know how; by attempting to orchestrate a Red Scare among people who barely remember the ideological struggles of the cold war.

These useful idiots are more than happy to go along with it because they’re so invested in the team-sports mentality of politics that they’re willingly blind to their own self interest. But it’s ok, so long as your team wins, right?

          • lowly grunt says:

            Yet another winning comment.
I hadn’t thought of Reaganomics being exposed as voodoo (a la GHWB) as the reason for the frothing, but I see what you mean, n8.
I figured the outcry was due to social conservatism being exposed as bankrupt as Bernie Maddoff’s clients. (I’ve been inappropriately amused by Maddoff’s name and crime, btw. Does that make me a bad person?)

        • purple switch says:

I live in England. My health care is provided for by my government. It is free, generally efficient and well-staffed by people whose primary concern is helping people get better. I am never asked for insurance details or worried about going to the doctor beacuse I’m light in a month.

God, it’s just HELL over here. (Yes there is a lot of bitching about the NHS in our press. It’s kind of a national passtime, we just love to gripe.)

          • Anniee451 says:

TANSTAAFL Freedom isn’t free either, and some of us aren’t willing to trade one for the other.

            • Uncle Fester says:

The freedom to let people die of treatable illness is the freedom of a third world hell, not the most powerful democracy on the planet…
But then, you’re a sociopath, the same as me, I just see the joke and you don’t…

            • Actually, Anniee, unless you are self-paying for all your medical care, your freedom (as far as medical care goes) is pretty much illusory, as most people who have dealt with insurance carriers, especially on major claims, can tell you.

              • Anniee451 says:

Put me down for both, diss – I have insurance, but I self-pay for a different doctor. But that is really, really beside the point. There is nothing illusory about this, as we will all be finding out as health care is rationed by force.

                • Uncle Fester says:

Nice to know you’ve got the greenbacks, and the social care of a rattlesnake that been smack with a a birch twig…

                  • Anniee451 says:

                    Uh…yeah. Whatever.

                    • Uncle Fester says:

Best the Mensa member, supporter of the The Austrian School, and a Fundamentalist Christian can do about one of the biggest scandals of the western world, to whit, the fact that the US has the most expensive, most inefficient, most corrupt, social medical systems is ‘whatever!’
The social conservatives gain was the Libertarian’s loss when you crossed the aisle… problem is you joined the libs…

                • Danbala says:

A bit more socialised health care doesn’t mean there is no freedom in it.

                  • Uncle Fester says:

                    HERETIC COMMIE!

                    • Danbala says:

As socialism means there is no freedom of speech, I cannot say anything but what the Party has approved. Freedom is only a chimaera. True liberty lies in not having to make choices because the available option is the best possible! So called democracy is the worst oppression the human species has ever been subject to! Umm… I’m sure there’s more, but I must go have open heart surgery now – it has so been scheduled.

                • All I’m saying is if you think good old Aetna or Blue Cross has your best interes at heart, you are somewhat naive. They will screw you in a heartbeat and quite honestly they could give a rat’s patoot (hee!) about whether you actually get adequate heathcare. Their one and only goal is to find that sweet spot where they put out the least possible amount of money towards your healthcare without the insureds mutinying and switching to another carrier. I can’t imagine that taking the third-party intervening profit motive out would actually hurt healthcare any.

I’m not saying that a single payer plan would be some type of nirvana, just that I doubt it could actually be much worse. And anyone who wants to talk about “waiting” …try getting an appointment with a busy specialist and see just how long you wait. It’s not like you can now waltz in like it’s Lenscrafters or something.

I’ll check back in w/you later if you want to respond, but now I have to go to job #2…w/ no internet access. :-(

    • The Steve says:

I would consider voting Republican if they could keep their noses out of my private life, and stop trying to legislate morality (which they won’t). I’m all for smaller, fiscally conservative government, I’m just not willing to sacrifice civil rights.

      • Anniee451 says:

That’s generally considered libertarian. This might not make you happy, but that’s where I stand too. Don’t worry, though, no one need get confused and say I’m making you look bad (actually that’s a really stupid thing for them to say anyway. Never mind.)

  15. SockSock come and get me fester says:

this just in, Comrade Barack has announced the economy is not as bad as it has been protrayed (mainly by him and his news conglomerate buddies) however Comrade Pelosi and her friends are ready to send through another stimulus package.

    All hail Comrade Obama!

    • Uncle Fester says:

In 1972 there were 68 Gloucestershire breed cattle left in the world. Today there are 450 cows

      • rhorho says:

I always worry about how sound the genetics are when a species narrowly
escapes extinction. When a breed is down to the teens, for example, is it
not a good idea, in a way, to let it go, rather than have a weak breed
around just for the sake of having it?

        • Uncle Fester says:

The human species had a bottleneck to 2000 people at some stage in its development. Explains why we have recessive problems like an ability to store or synthesise Vitamin C as a ‘feature’…

    • n8 says:

Your lack of originality is stunning. Could you not -completely- mimic Beck’s shtick? I’m sure he works hard at coming up with his drivel, and for you to appropriate it entirely without even crediting him is just indecent.

      • The Steve says:

I thought that sounded like a TV skit, although I had never seen it. It didn’t sound like the original works of Sock-for-brains.

        • n8 says:

Oh yeah, Beck’s just been over-the-top lately with the “comrade” shtick. Reality is a foreign land to that guy.

          • I was about to point out that if you can’t appreciate Beck you’re not listening close enough because the guy’s one of the most creative recording artists I can think of, but then I realized you were talking about Glenn Beck. Carry on.

      • rhorho says:

I caught what Obama *actually* said. His comment was more about how
we all tend to overreact to both good and bad news. When the stock
market fell under 7000, we all panicked. When it rose back up, we all
cheered. Obama was merely making an observation that the real status
falls somewhere in the middle: It’s not as bad or as good as people think.

Of course, Beck went to town on that. How can people watch that guy?

        • Because he had Chuck Norris on his show?

        • i hate everything says:

thats cuz when he was on TV it crashed and when he was off TV, it rose back up! does anyone already notice the pattern of the stock market and when *his Highness* (lol im sorry i think thats funny) is giving a speech or something?

          • Anniee451 says:

I know, the video was hilarious. Obama opens his mouth and the stock just plummets as he speaks. The next day when he shut up it rose…every day when my colleagues come in to check the market, it’s become a running joke – “Did Obama talk today? Or did I get any of my 401K back?” Not so funny is that the older ones have lost at least half and are losing more all the time, while the younger among us don’t have as much to lose. My main colleague was going to retire and had her retirement house and funds all prepared, and now half of it’s gone. Not cool, and she knows what’s coming with this mad spending spree. I can’t imagine why they keep their money in stocks, but whatever. Some of them have made a decent living at it so far, so I guess I can’t blame them too much; but I wouldn’t want to be so vested in such a thing at this point.

    • Anniee451 says:

“Comrade Pelosi and her friends are ready to send through another stimulus package.”

I had to laugh when this came out…it seems so deliberate (you know, the impossible flood of demands to break the economy and rebuild it under government control – socialist) but at the same time it’s also like a crack addict who just needs two more dollars for another hit. Is it deliberate or are they that stupid? The world may never know.

      • Uncle Fester says:

        You just like monopolies…

        • Anniee451 says:

It’s not an either-or proposition, as you like to make it. Without government propping things up it’s going to be really hard in this day and age to hold a monopoly on anything essential due to competition. Red herrings your specialty?

          • Uncle Fester says:

Without government ‘propping things up’ when the dust settles there’ll only be monopolies or cartels left…

You seem to have no idea of the only stable points in Anarcho-Capitalist system phase space… and that’s based on the differential equations in their own mathematical models.

            • Anniee451 says:

I don’t believe in anarcho-capitalism, Fester. Free markets must needs be controlled by **common law**, which entails contract law (summed up in “Do all you have agreed to do”) and tort law (summed up in “Do not encroach upon other persons or their property”). That is the proper sphere of law/force/coercion in free markets. They can certainly include implied warranties as well. There has to be recourse for all engaged in trade for free markets to work and people’s liberties and rights to be protected.

              • Uncle Fester says:

Contract and Tort do not actually affect the ideas of either the hostile take over. You’re espousing a consumer driven market, when much of the time, there is no ‘consumer’ in the traditional sense, just one company predating another… , while making ‘product’ noises to keep their vendor channels open. In the end, you wind up with the type of monopoly AT&T became, and there’s not a thing in what you’ve said that would force them to split, other than Government more or less threatening to take them over and take them apart themselves (which is the back room stuff that went on with AT&T)… In lower tech markets, say tobacco, you have underhand cartel dealing and the ‘market’ carved up between them so they all turn a profit…
I really don’t see how one is going to protect the ‘people’ from either rapid and violent ‘market adjustment’ nor the occasional heavy handed approach to from government to break up what the venal SOBs are doing this time…

                • Uncle Fester says:

“…either the hostile take over, nor the ‘dragging people into court over “patent violations” until they go bust when they won’t sell out to you’ approach of business…”
                  Missed that bit…
                  oops

            • Anniee451 says:

How did you miss this very essential and basic thing, which I know I have already explained previously?

              • Uncle Fester says:

I doubt you have, and since it’s wishful thinking rather than anything to do with ‘reality’ I probably thought you were joking…

        • Anniee451 says:

At any rate when you’re in debt and struggling, you don’t take out a million dollar line of credit and spend your way out of it – that’s the stupidest thing you could do, in fact.

          • rhorho says:

            …said Herbert Hoover.

            • Anniee451 says:

Hoover started the ball rolling (just as Bush did with the bailouts late last year) and Roosevelt sealed the deal for a Great Depression, as Obama is doing now.

          • Uncle Fester says:

More or less what the great Monetarist Oligarchies of the 1980s did… Reagans’s drity little secret was debt extension to fund tax cuts that would then be clawed back from spiralling global debt and the buy back in fallen asset prices later. Only asset prices didn’t drop in the way that was hoped. The problems when one places too much faith in models. Only predictable thing in the economy is that, it favours the two stable spots in all the models, and that’s monopoly or cartel. …
Mom and Pop emporiums become a variant of K-mart and Wal*Mart, and there’s nothing to stop it since the ‘free market’ favours the big guy in all things… and if the big guy isn’t too greedy, and paces, then one day, he knows it’s all sewn up…
And mom and pop is a little black and white photo in some archive of what America once looked like.
Meanwhile, idiots like you spread FUD over them trying to put humpty back together so that you STILL have a choice when this chaos ends, because you’re too stupid to understand what it is you’re promoting.

[LINK] bursting your smug little bubble. Happy Friday.

        • Anniee451 says:

The Washington Compost? Pelosi’s word? Bwahaha!!! At any rate it really doesn’t matter; the original, the “all earmarks” follow-up, and the budget will be do the job of destroying the economy just fine on their own. It’s just funny to see them batting the idea around of whether or not they should try for a second. And yes, it has been discussed.

Oh, thanks – you made my Friday. Now stick a fork in ‘er, this thread is done too :) It couldn’t get any better than that.

Read my lips – no earmarks! Read my lips – no lobbyists! Read my lips…oh I’ll see you on the next thread that interests me :)

          • rhorho says:

I entirely predicted you would doubt the source, so no surprise there.

Time will tell, and I will point and laugh, and you’ll deny, deny, deny.

Earmarks = less than 1%. Is that all you have, laughing stock?

It’s a shame you must toil in your second-shift work. Tragic, even,
considering that the Libertarians would pay you handsomely to quit
            calling yourself one of them.

            Toodles, Wrongness.

            • Anniee451 says:

Time will tell? Pelosi said it and then backpedaled when people balked. What the hell is that to brag about? Because they’re not going to DO it means they didn’t WANT to do it? Are you serious? Or don’t you follow current events as they occur?

              9000 earmarks lol.

I choose my work hours, not that that’s relevant. Not that even the best of people can be too picky in THIS economy, eh? Nothing to be ashamed of in honest work. Too bad Obi-wan and his constant tax-evading criminal picks can say the same LOL

              • Anniee451 says:

                CAN’T say the same ;)

              • Anniee451 says:

            • minerva146 says:

She doubted the source because her tin foil hat only lets her believe “news” accounts from extremist opinion sites. Real newspapers are all just hippie crap. LOL

    Now don’t you look stupid?

    • Uncle Fester says:

      Might… not ‘does’… You’ still look foolish…

    • rhorho says:

Anniee, if you had one lick of common sense (which you have proven you don’t) you would realize that good legislation concerning complicated issues is not written in an afternoon. Not every bill draft becomes a bill, let alone a law. Just because drafts of bills exist is not proof that anything will come of them. In order to act quickly in an economic emergency, preparations are made in advance.

      So now you know.

  18. Anniee451 says:

    Moronerva and rho? CNN. Duh.

“The pushback came a day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested more stimulus spending might be needed, and the top Democrat on the Appropriations Committee said he had already instructed his staff to begin working on a bill.”

  19. Anniee451 says:

Ok, this is bullcrap. Minerva, you TOTALLY failed. CNN already reported on Pelosi’s plea for more stimulus spending AND the resulting pushback. The top Dim on the Appropriations Committee already had his staff working on the bill LOL.

    • minerva146 says:

What are you even talking about? I wasn’t even referring to this particular topic, as I’m comfortable admitting I haven’t read up on it. My only remark on this thread other than about donuts, referred only to your dismissal of any newspaper source in favor of opinion blogs instead. I couldn’t care less about Pelosi. I’m not er biggest fan. Contrary to what you believe, I have a brain of my own, which i use for independent thought. I haven’t ever been one to toe the party line. I’m an election worker because I believe in our process for democracy. Sheesh. Quit judging people based on cursory assumptions. Why are you still flinging poo at me, when I’ve primarily tried to be nice to you and have been fundamentally absent from this entire thread?

      • Anniee451 says:

CNN is an opinion blog? LMAO

        FAIL! Utter, abject FAIL.

“The pushback came a day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested more stimulus spending might be needed, and the top Democrat on the Appropriations Committee said he had already instructed his staff to begin working on a bill.”

      • Anniee451 says:

Minerva, bullcrap. You spew your own poo about socks and people not accepting sources, when this was all over the news and you simply failed to comprehend it. You lose, good day sir.

        • minerva146 says:

Read the comments. I wasn’t even reading the thread, let alone commenting on it. I didn’t SAY I didn’t accept your sources. I only said I didn’t want to comment, because I try to, in fact, not make up things when I do comment. I’ve been rather preoccupied with a relative in the hospital and financial woes recently, pardon me for not gluing myself to a television. Not that I owe you any explanation for why I haven’t seen this story. I was perfectly willing to admit I didn’t know enough to comment on this issue, therefore REFRAINING TO DO SO. Nor do I claim to be an absolute authority like you do. I didn’t fail to comprehend anything. I have enough confidence in my intelligence to not insecurely fling around my qualifications, like you seem to feel a need to do. Yet I still am more respected here than you. Why do you suppose that is? Nevermind, I know your answer; it’s the only one you have for anything.

The only time I mentioned sock was when it was clear there were some. “so” has been seen with several avatars in one day, for example. Just because you say you don’t use socks, doesn’t mean others don’t. It’s been done before, and will again. Possibly even by you. I don’t get why you’re so indignant about it, unless it hits close to home.

Sorry, I won’t rise to your bait and lower myself to your level of immature taunting etc. I’ve tried to be nice to you, you’ll have none of it. I still won’t fling poo.

          • minerva146 says:

Also, I’m still not sure why you feel a need to single me out to discredit. I’m going to get some sleep now, enjoy your pool of bile.

            • Anniee451 says:

You chose a side, you chose a side with your sock comment and you chose one when you claimed I didn’t believe Rho merely because I only believe disreputable sources, which is utter nonsense. Stop jumping into those ridiculous pile-ons (on the safe side, naturally) and you won’t be made to feel so stupid.

              • Anniee451 says:

Oh…and the day you don’t pick the safe side and the mob (led by Fister) starts spewing invective at you? Is the day you become defensive. Hell, you’re defensive against ME and I’m supposedly some moron who doesn’t believe credible sources and has no humanity to speak of.

Come talk to me when you think something different or original and don’t join in the crucifixions.

              • minerva146 says:

Apparently you missed the part about the constitution being about compromise. Why does there have to be “sides”. This isn’t a war, it’s a discussion. I am quite confident nothing you say makes me feel anywhere near stupid. I’m comfortable with my intelligence and and philosophies. No need to feel stupid or uncomfortable about any of it.

                • Anniee451 says:

Good. So why did you feel the need to make that stupid disparaging comment when in fact you WERE dead wrong? Why did you make the false claim that I cite opinion blogs to back such things up when in fact they actually happened and were common knowledge? Why, even now, can you not admit that you were actually wrong, and rho was actually wrong, and oops, I didn’t know that, but I guess you were right and weren’t even citing controversial sources for it? Get serious.

This is about as believable as you weeping last night about offering an olive branch and just begging us to join in civilized discussion when in fact what you HAD done was call us socks instead? Get REAL Minerva.

You’re coming off worse than Fister with this nonsense. False tears and false righteousness are worse than direct insults FFS.

                  • minerva146 says:

I don’t feel the need to justify this particuar remark, as I believe there’s no need. I didn’t do anything wrong. Since you continue to feel personally affronted by it, here’s the thing about the socks remark. It was said in a light, joking manner, and was not even directly addressed to ANYONE in particular. YOU are the one who got defensive. Several people here have been proven to be socks, so it was a legitimate jibe, if a lighthearted one. I still realize this is also al LOL site, get it? I don;t need to make excuses, it’s just the way it is, though i know already you’ll have a temper tantrum about it. Any time I have directly addressed you, I have tried to have a decent conversation, although that has clearly been only one-sided. You immediately throw up the persecution armor and start name-calling. How is one supposed to deal with you at that point? As to false tears, I have none, false or otherwise. I also don’t claim to be righteous. Again you project words onto me. I have been straightforward, that is all. Sorry you can’t handle that someone might actually be what they seem. I have no need for dishonest ploys to appear different than I am.

                    • rhorho says:

Minerva, we’re not dealing with a sane person here.
She has issues galore, and no plan to resolve any
of them. Your comment about socks got to her, and
she outed herself by answering defensively, so now
she blames you. The most amazing thing about it
is that you didn’t even intend it to be a trap.

This person can’t see past her own crazy, and is
trying to justify herself in some strange way. You
and I have dealt with these before. Eventually she
will go away, once she decides for herself that we
                      aren’t worthy of her time.

                      • minerva146 says:

I’m well aware of that. I also don’t feel like the punching bag she thinks I am. i kinda feel sorry for her. Must be lonely living that abrasively. I’m also aware that my responses just emphasize her lack of credibility, which is my goal, seeing as we can’t get her to act human.

                        • rhorho says:

I think she would act human if she could
right now, but this format isn’t doing her any
good, either. What she needs isn’t here.

Like you (assuming), I intend to stand my
ground and not give the crazy b!tch an inch.
She has had her chance to interact with
everyone in a fair and open way. Unfortu-
nately, she has chosen another route, so
she will get back everything she gives,
                          with interest.

                        • minerva146 says:

It’s cool, I’m not trying to say everybody shouldn’t give her what she deserves. I just told her I wouldn’t give her the satisfaction of rising to her bait. She obviously can’t handle that approach, so she’s targeting me, trying to undermine my credibility. I’m taking the high road to diffuse her bluster. it only makes her look like the stooge, and damages her own, already questionable to say the least, credibility.

                        • rhorho says:

You’re good people, and everyone (sane)
knows that. I have seen her attempts at you,
but your reputation on PK is well established,
so she is simply making a fool of herself…
                          again.

At the moment, the only one who doesn’t
realize that Anniee is crumbling is Anniee.

                • Anniee451 says:

“Apparently you missed the part about the constitution being about compromise.”

No, I saw that; it wasn’t worth discussion. I didn’t want you to be that embarrassed.

                  • minerva146 says:

Who’s embarrassed. I gave you a legitimate opportunity to give a position on why you behave this way in spite of your alleged love of the constitution, which is, in fact, a system for compromise. You are all bluster and no argument as far as I can see. There are a lot of people here who are as knowledgeable about and love the constitution as much as you claim to. Again, I think you are incapable of a reasoned discussion that doesn’t degrade into juvenile name calling.

                    • rhorho says:

Good call: She has run out of steam, and has
                      nothing of substance left.

                    • Anniee451 says:

Minerva, I really don’t understand what you’re getting at. Yes, there is a system for making amendments, but the bill of rights is non-negotiable. There are clear and decisive limits to what the government is supposed to be allowed to do. For 200+ years we’ve had the most liberty of anyone on the planet for this reason. 200+ years to build and only a couple decades to tear the entire foundation down – that is nothing to be proud of. Destroying this great experiment in SELF-government and liberty is cause for great shame, and I am ashamed that we have allowed our children to be raised without the knowledge of this greatness anymore.

It’s disgusting, and yes, I am very angry about it. Most sane people are. The War on Poverty (the longest running and most expernsive war ever fought – and to no avail), The War on Drugs, federal spending and control over schooling and education, these are all things that are in direct violation of the constitution and are being done illegally. Yet people just accept it and demand more of it. It’s insanity.

            • Anniee451 says:

Yeah, good night then. Maybe tomorrow you can just be a person and talk to people. I wouldn’t object.

              • rhorho says:

Your assessment of others is not in touch with reality.

                Seek professional help.

“Maybe tomorrow you can just be a person.”

Does that make sense to you? Here’s a hint: It doesn’t make
sense to any of the sane people on PK. Minerva is a human
being. She is not just a blip on your monitor. You control
nothing. Give it up, and, seriously, get some help.
