I gotta tell ya, this woman disgusts me. Having more kids when she already has 6 she can’t take care of?

    • Danbala says:

For me, it’s more pity for her (and mostly the children), and disgust for the doctors whodunnit.

      • Uncle Fester says:

The question is, who funded this? An HMO or some special interest group?

        • the_original_shortright says:

she paid for it. she got a disability settlement less than a year before her first child. there was a riot at a mental facility she worked at and she got a back injury. they paid out $165k… in the next 7 years she had 14 children and continued to collect on the disability (although you’d think pregnancy would affect a bad back…). she is also collecting food stamps and 3 or her previous 6 kids are receiving disability due to autism and other illnesses. she doesn’t pay for any of their care besides buying them toys.
interview with her mother and information unveiled by the LA Times revealed all of this.
so the good old american tax payer paid for her litter of children… not to mention the rapidly getting closer to $5m medical bill for the delivery and hospital stay.
i’ve never been one for forced sterilization, but this whackjob is making me rethink my stance.

          • mothergoose says:

I guess my issue is that there are PLENTY of couples out there, not just hetero-couples, who would LOVE to adopt a child…then there are women who use their uterus like a tennis-ball machine popping out kid after kid after blessed kid that they have no means of supporting or raising…*sigh*

            • the_original_shortright says:

i totally agree. they really should take all 14 of her children and adopt them out to families who want children and can support them.
this nut hasn’t done a THING for her children yet there are other nuts who are praising her for being such a great person for not selectively reducing or anything. when i see her up 24/7 changing diapers and feeding and cuddling ALL of her children then i’ll say she’s a decent mother and can keep them all. but i want her to do it without endorsements, without her mothers help, without cameras from TLC following her around.
              fat fcuking chance that’ll happen.
              she’s a… i can’t even think of a bad enough word.

              • crux says:

I wonder if her reasoning is, “I can’t work, so I’ll make meaning of my life by being a mother”? Because if so, she should really foster instead of having kids.

                • keshet says:

If her behavior is any indication, no sane social worker would place any foster kids with her.
Part of her reasoning for having all the embryos implanted was that she didn’t want them to be destroyed. While I am by no means a “right to life”er, I can understand and accept her choice no to “kill” them. However, I bet several infertile couples would have been very happy to bring those babies into the world and raise them.

            • Motas says:

Exactly. I know several couples who’ve had to resort to overseas adoptions because there weren’t any babies they could adopt at home. Meanwhile the number of unwed mothers keeping their “fatherless” babies just grows and grows.

              • the_original_shortright says:

i don’t have an issue with a woman raising a child as “fatherless”… so long as she can provide for the child. single mothers are on the rise, but i don’t think that’s a problem at all, single mothers like this wench are the problem (milking the system and not caring for her children at all).

                • Motas says:

That’s right. With the ability to provide for the child (without resorting to government handouts) & good role models, children like my next door neighbor turn out to be wonderful, loving, responsible adults. But being taught to depend on government handouts as the primary means of support just seems to reinforce the “gimmee” mentality.

                  • FaileV says:

i don’t even mind a few hand outs, like the mother is really working but just can’t make ends meet, it’s that ‘gimmee’ mentality that’s annoying, where some just stop and expect you to do something for them

                    • crux says:

She’s disabled, though. Not just unemployed. Apparently she’s “unemployable” as well.

The strategy of getting a college education while on disability is not unknown. If she makes it through, she may no longer be unemployable. But she should have waited to have kids until she actually had the job. That’s her biggest mistake to me. That, and being stupid enough to say “six embryos, please”.

Most likely, with that big settlement, she’s not eligible for actual “welfare” type disability, since her assets are too high (unless the actual settlement is paying out in very low payments over a very long time). What she probably gets is free medical care and food stamps.

                • Here’s a brief PSA: Just because you’re married when you have a kid is no guarantee that they won’t end up being “fatherless”….(or motherless, for that matter). Sh~t happens. If you’re going to bring kids into the world, have a contingency plan of some kind.

                  • pcflamingo says:

Amen to that, diss. Speaking as a former single mom who suddenly had to come up with a contingency plan when my husband was arrested for armed robbery (what a dip). For the next several years my son and I shared housing with other single moms, since we were all too poor to afford a place by ourselves. Worked, went to school, found a REAL man, got married again. Hard work, but worth it.

                    • telefil says:

Congratulations! My biological father ran out on my mom when she got pregnant with me (such a man). She raised me on her own–quit her low-paying fun job, got a better job plus started going to school nights to improve her education and thus get a job with more security. She bartered for my babysitting when it was necessary, with neighbours who lived in the same co-op (granted this was a long time ago–a different world from today). She never took any handouts and never went on welfare (though I’m sure that if she’d needed to, she would have done it for my sake). It is always worth it to work for your children. I can only hope that I turn out as diligent and strong as you and my own mom!

I was two when my mom met my dad and married him (he adopted me, and keeps his copy of the adoption papers in his sock drawer!), and we’ve never looked back :)

              • Which brings up a related issue, couples who say they desperately want to raise children but who are only willing to take a perfectly healthy newborn. There’s normally a whole bunch of older and/or less perfect kids who really, really need a good home, but they don’t want to consider taking the three year old with a hearing problem or the one year old and the five year old sister that are hoping against hope to get a family together. Nope, gotta be a baby. (No offense to your friends in particular, it’s just something that bugs the crap out of me.)

                • mothergoose says:

Damn, beat me to it…thanks, Diss…

                  • mothergoose says:

I work with an Agency that serves The Central Pennsylvania area. We currently have 12 children ages 8-11 eligible for adoption, 23 children ages 12-14, and I work with 3 17-year-old boys who will be “aging-out” of Foster Care within this calendar year. These kids come from horrendous backgrounds that include drug addiction, neglect, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, histories of crime and violence and it’s VERY rare to get these kids adopted by caring families.

                    • BSweet says:

Mothergoose – You are so right! I have 2 kids of my own, plus one foster child who is 10. He needed love and a home, and I’m proud and honored to give it to him. He deserves happiness too.

                      • That is such an awesome thing to do!

Also, MG, maybe you can answer this one for me — you hear these horror stories about the foster care system, but everyone I’ve ever known who’s done it has had to jump through a million hoops and go through a lengthy approval and training process. Is it something that varies a lot from state to state or is it a matter of nutjobs somehow slipping through the system even with the safeguards?

                        • mothergoose says:

I can’t answer nationally, but I know here in PA there are a multitude of hoops to jump through (and some of them are flaming). That’s been one of the major issues here for a long time. People who would be willing to open their homes for Foster Care are: A; intimidated by the process…B; have heard the horror stories from former-Foster Parents who have had a bad experience…and C) the training process is lengthy, and many times good, willing and caring people can be rejected…which leads to “Well, if THEY couldn’t be Foster Parents, how could I?”

Yes, you do have bad Foster Parents out there, and occasionally you hear about them; but, to be honest, it’s a very miniscule percentage. Most of the Foster Parents I’ve worked with are fantastic…the major problem is that if these kids don’t get adopted by the time they are 18, they “Age Out” of the system and wind up having to fend for themselves. The system in Pa will have a minimum of 11,000 foster kids aging out this calendar year…

                        • Noaccount says:

The irony is this selfish twat wouldn’t meet the most basic qualifications to take the LEAST desirable forster/adoptive child, yet she’s allowed — nay, enouraged — by society and her physican to breed little crotch monkeys to her heart’s content.
                          Disgraceful!

                        • Lynn Nexus says:

The problem is that the -good- foster parents are never noticed. While the -Bad- Foster parents get noticed almost immediately by everyone but the people weeding them out. We had a couple down the street that were some really
awful foster parents but did nothing -truly- wrong. They just let the kids run wild, they would break into peoples porches so they could wreck stuff… things like that.

                    • Motas says:

We took in Foster children when I was growing up. One was chronic run-away & was only with us for a month or two. One was thrown out a window by her mother. Another opted for boarding school & moved out after 8th grade. My mom kept in touch with her & we attended her wedding. My parents tried to adopt our fourth (and his older brother) but his mother refused to give up custody.
I’ve also dealt with fosters in the schools here. Too many are taken in as an “income source” then treated like garbage by the foster families.

                      • Kat says:

My mom took in foster kids when I was a kid, she took in special needs kids because (1) not many people are willing to deal with that and (2) my brother had special needs so she knew how to cope. When I got older she wasn’t able to do foster care but we would take in the neibhorhood kids that aged out. Several of the people on our street used foster care as an income source and when the turned 18 my mom would take them in and help them to find jobs and housing. It is a rough system.

                    • abby normal says:

this is one reason i get so mad when people say things about “so many caring couples waiting to adopt a child”. they don’t want a child, they want a baby. the most common reason is that they don’t want “damaged goods”. yeah, they’re really caring alright. they don’t care about the kids who need help, they care about their own selfish desire to have a cute and cuddly baby to raise the way they want, not to help out a kid who could really use the love and support.
there are hundreds if not thousands of people on waiting lists to adopt a baby, and meanwhile these older kids are waiting desperately for a loving and stable home.
also, this woman pictured should have all her kids taken away.

                • Motas says:

Sorry, one couple was able to adopt a vision-impaired six year old. For the others the “available” children were of a different race & so they were not allowed to take them, not even as foster parents.

                  • Well, that sucks, too. I know that can be an issue; I know a family who had to go to court to adopt their biracial foster kid because the state viewed her as bing onf a different race. Seems like we could get past that in the 21st century, doesn’t it?

                    • Uncle Fester says:

AS we get smaller and weaker, that sort of thing
                      will get worse…
There is no such thing as ‘race’, simply ethnicity,
and being of a specific ethnic origin means nothing.
If one adopts an Irish child, does one raise them
on Guinness and Potatoes, and songs about the
‘Boys on the line’? So why does a black child need
to be raised to wear grills and have his trousers
styled after the late Burgess Meredith as The
                      Penguin?

                      • Aoife says:

Jumping in a bit late here, but my friend and her husband adopted a teenager of a different race, and things could not have turned out better for everyone involved. Here’s a kid who never had a stable home and, after years of being in the foster system, never expected a family of his own or much of a future. He’s now part of a huge, affectionate extended family, he’s with parents who never thought they’d have their own child and are absolutely crazy about and supportive of him, and whose lives are now, as they put it, “complete”, and he’ll be off to college in fall 2010. I wish more adopters and agencies would look to this family as an example of how well adoptions both of older children and children of different races can turn out.

As for Ms. Suleman, she admits in interviews to having no income, yet claims she provides for her children. Really? How does that work?

                      • Drake says:

I really pissed off the DMV in MA.. when i was renewing my license i wrote in under “race” …human. The lady told me unless i filled out the application correctly i wouldnt get a new license.. idiots.

                    • Motas says:

                      We can dream…

                  • Helina says:

Why do the foster officials prevent different ethnicities from fostering? Why does it matter? Or is it just in your state?

                    • Uncle Fester says:

I thought it was global… it’s certainly hard for a white family to adopt and ethnic child, as it is for the ethnic family to take a white child, in the UK

                      • Noaccount says:

FMU, it is a global phenomenon, other than folks who adopt children from other countries. Even then it is a long and arduous process.
We wouldn’t want to taint a child and destroy its future by raising it with the wrong culture, now would we?
                        Bullspit.

                      • Helina says:

Okay. I was just asking because a friend of the family is a foster mom and she’s had different sorts of kids before. Not often, but she has gotten some.

                    • In the case of the people I knew, the state had no problem with them being her foster parents, they just gave them a hard time when they wanted to adopt her. They fought in court to get to adopt her and I believe may have affected the way our state looks at race in adoption…it was some time ago (like 10 years?)

                • FaileV says:

that’s why i’d worry about some of the kids. the ones with autism wouldn’t havemuch chance of being adopted, but then i highly doubt she’d properly care for autistic children. god it’s hard to think through the ’she did what!?’ rage

                  • crux says:

I don’t know; she might do better than some of those idiots who listen to every quack out there who promises to make their kids “normal”… 90 hours of therapy a week, fifty different herbs, a diet that cuts out two major food groups, chelation, even “detoxifying” foot pads (you think I’m kidding? This is literally only part of the regimen that one three year old’s mom bragged about to me)… These kids aren’t getting any childhoods.

Yeah, autism needs therapy, simply because autism means you don’t learn some things as well, and need help learning. But a parent who thinks she loves her kid and actually loves the non-autistic kid she wanted instead of him… That disgusts me. I’d almost rather have no treatment at all. Kids know when they’re not wanted.

That said, if this lady wants to contribute to the world, she should really be fostering instead.

                • wundawomun says:

                  I totally agree.

              • crux says:

Would just like to note that there are other options than overseas. First: Foster care adoption. Lots of kids are in foster care with no parents, and adoptable; bu because they are older than 3 months or so, are hard to place. If you can bond with an infant, you can bond with a toddler. Second: Special needs. This is anything from biracial kids (no kidding, mixed kids are hard to place, how messed up is that!) to kids with disabilities, drug-related problems, or prematurity. Sound daunting? Most parents with disabled kids adjust just fine–and most disabled kids will be independent adults. If you choose to adopt a kid like this, you’re going into it knowing roughly what you’re up against, so you’re already a step ahead of the parents for whom it’s a surprise. Adopting across racial lines is less and less troublesome, now that America is becoming increasingly accepting of different races. Hard to place can be as simple as a cleft lip and a Mexican daddy… Some of these kids grow up in foster care for no reason at all…

            • Marshy says:

There are PLENTY of children up for adoption, but many of those kids will never get adopted by those couples you speak of. Why? Even though white kids make up the smallest percentage of kids up for adoption, they make up the largest percentage of kids who actually do get adopted. White, healthy, fresh-from-the-uterus newborns are the most sought after. Some couples go on a waiting list for years so they can get a child that fits that profile. If this woman continues with her lifestyle (of not being able to care for these children), some of them might be taken away. The foster care system could use some fixing up, but more and more kids are piling up in there.

            • Attani says:

              Well said, MotherGoose!

            • Asd says:

Have you ever tried ping pong balls? :P

          • PortlandMark says:

I still support our system of social support for the indigent, but it’s apparent to me that this woman is an example of the worst kind of abuser of the system.

          • MLD says:

Plus, all of THESE kids apparently qualify for SSI according to a poster who works for Soc Sec, because of their low birth weights.

            • froofrou says:

MY kid was 4lbs11oz at birth. Does she qualify? Hell no! Even preemie didn’t get her any breaks! *mutters* Stupid system that won’t let a middle class person making semi-decent money get any help.

              • MLD says:

1200 grams. Has to be ultra-low. Because theyre the ones most likely to end up with lifelong disabilities. *sigh*

                • froofrou says:

I can’t do the conversion in my head, but I know she was too low to get out of the NICU for 12 days. Which, considering her birth, was still pretty good. Middle class still gets screwed :-)

                  • Well, but did you apply? (Side note: it wouldn’t have occurred to
me, either. My oldest was early, too, but not quite that tiny, she was 5# 8 oz!)

                    • froofrou says:

Yes, and we make too much money to qualify for anything. How early was yours? Is she ok today?

                      • Actually, as her dad managed to lose two jobs the week she was born, we probably would have qualified at the time! She’s perfectly awesome now, graduated from college last year. She does have a learning disability (althought she’s quite smart — as I understand it’s sort of like dyslexia, only with math) but I don’t think that had anything to do with being a preemie.

                        • Oh, and about 3 weeks early. Annoyingly enough, I couldn’t convince anyone that I was in labor until my water broke. They kept telling me I didn’t know what I was talking about as she was my first and it “wasn’t time yet.” (Not medical people, it was her dad and my parents…)

          • Avi says:

see, it’s people like this that just need to be punched in the stomach and pushed down a flight of stairs. seriously? she’s just contributed to a world full of kids that no one’s gonna take care of. i think we all should stop having kids for a couple years and wait for some other people to die off.

      • mothergoose says:

Danbala, I think you and I agree on this. If the woman is batshirt crazy (as her own mother implies)…than what docttor in his right mind is going to invitro a woman who already has 6 kids with 8 more? This guy needs to have his licensed examined. And Fester has a point too, if she didn’t pay for this out-of-pocket, then where did the money come from to do this?

        • Uncle Fester says:

See below… there are some VERY strange features to this case… It’s been a while since I’ve had ANYTHING as good as this to entertain me…

        • PortlandMark says:

“than what docttor in his right mind is going to invitro a woman who already has 6 kids with 8 more? ”

Minor factual correction: the doctor implanted six embryos, and then there were further divisions in utero. Otherwise, I’m totally in agreement with you.

    • supersirenia says:

in all seriousness, I hope the state intervenes. what kind of life are these kids going to have? its purported that she suffers from a serious back injury and lives off disability… she told one doctor that being pregnant exacerbates that pain. How is she taking care of these kids? She’s not. her mom is. that childhood she dreamed of giving her kids is having the same parents she feels mistreated her raise her litter? effed up, I tell ya. The Duggar family should get custody these octuplets… they know how to care for a large family that is healthy and happy.

      • Uncle Fester says:

The Duggar family are a circus…

        • Musicmom870 says:

The Duggars did not have a litter. And they have the resources to care for the children they produced. I might not make the same choices they have, but there’s a world of difference between the two families. The fact that she chose to bear another child, much less 8, when she lacked the resources to care for it, is evidence enough of some kind of mental problem. I wish her and the kids well, because what’s done is done, but I don’t expect a good outcome.

          • Uncle Fester says:

            It’s by farming out TV rights… it’s a circus.

            • supersirenia says:

so how were they doing it BEFORE getting TV rights? they’ve only been doing the TLC show for a little over a year, maybe two. they’ve been able to care for themselves just fine. i wouldnt be a baby factory, but I think this family has some lessons that could be learned by other parents who FAIL their kids by being crappy parents. its not difficult to pay attention to whats going on in your childs life.

              • Sarolite says:

The Duggars have property they rent out, a used car lot, and the dad used to be in politics.

The Duggars declared their household a church and have thus become exempt from a lot of tax codes. Also, they receive a lot of handouts from their church. They snaked their way into “having the resources” to provide for their family.

  2. wrydenise says:

    Who is this??

  3. dysfunctional says:

heh – she wanted a large family to make up for having a dysfunctional family – exactly how functional is a single mum and 14 kids?

  4. cleozowner says:

If loneliness were truly the reason for having children:
    1) Having one or two might have alleviated this–not having kid after kid after kid
    2) It’s still a very poor reason to have children.

    • See, loneliness is a good reason to, say, join a bowling team, or a book club, or do volunteer work. Or maybe get a dog. It’s not a good reason to use advanced fertility technology.

  5. iris says:

*sigh* the fertility doc should start a fund now for the kids’ inevitable issues. that woman is mentally ill and the doctor knowingly went ahead and implanted her anyway, what a failure to his oath…..first do no harm….

  6. Steve says:

Ugggg…I wish people had to apply for a license to reproduce. Some people just shouldn’t have kids, and if you already have kids you can’t afford to raise, you certainly shouldn’t have more.

    • What completely blows my mind about this woman is that to some extent, she did. She didn’t just go out and mindlessly get knocked up, she convinced medical professionals to implant every single one of those 14 kids in her uterus. (How she paid the fertility clinic is another question, I guess!)

      • Uncle Fester says:

Acutally, no it’s not another question. How the hell DID she pay for the treatment?

        • Lainie says:

She paid with her Disability checks. Seriously. Apparently she has been on disability for like 8 years from a “back injury” at work and that’s how she paid for the in-vitro. I read that she’s collected almost $200,000 so far. Ok, I have been pregnant before- it KILLS your back…she obviously isn’t too-disabled to be pregnant with a litter of babies.
I’m sure she’ll continue to be a drain on society- collecting disability, those kids will be on Medicaid, she’ll get food-stamps and welfare. All so we can work to support her & her village of kids.

          • mothergoose says:

Ok…I think this woman is carzier than s sh!thouse rat…and I agree that the “disability” claim probably needs investigated. I will say this; however, as someone who works on a daily basis with adjudicated/disadvantaged kids…most of the kids I work with wound up with many/most of their issues later as a direct result of poor/no parenting skills. It is not the child’s fault… That being said; whatever state this woman lives in MUST send Social Services out to investigate the care given to these children.

            • mothergoose says:

              *crazier*
              Damn Fingers…

            • Uncle Fester says:

              Have you seen Suleman’s qualifications?

Bachelor of Science degree in child and adolescent development,
              Cal State 2006.
              WTF do they teach?

              • mothergoose says:

Although with those qualifications, she could be considered an “Expert in the field” for a Bill O’Reilly Interview..
                ____

Well, at least that degree is going to come in handy for her, eh?

Maybe she’s trying to breed a better football team for Cal St.

              • rhorho says:

During her interview with Ann Curry, Suleman stated that she
plans to complete her Masters so she can provide (!) for the
children. She has relied on family members to help with the
six. Her family members should seriously consider moving
out of town, or at least changing their phone numbers!

                • FaileV says:

i’m not the only one that thinks that’s rather out of touch am I? not only doing graduate school with a brand new family of 14, but also that she expects that to cover her bills. i mean unless it’s a masters in a hard science…the chances are it won’t help much off the bat financial wise.

                  • No kidding. I don’t know exactly what you could do that would</i. cover supporting 14 kids mostly under school age and some with special needs, but I don’t think she’s going to be drafted by the NBA this year, so that’s right out.

                    • *blinks*
I’m so annoyed I can’t remember to close my tags….

                    • rhorho says:

You would think that being around six small children
alone would be a suitable form of birth control. The
grandparents should kick her out of the house, and
force her to give her children up for adoption.

It sounds brutal, but those kids deserve a chance in
life, and the grandparents should not be held
hostage in their golden years, either. I saw the
parents’ house on TV: It was suitable for a family of
                      4-5, not 17!

                      • MLD says:

Being around one or two kids in the store for five MINUTES is suitable birth control for me! I’m happily childfree, and will NEVER have any (thank god)

And make it a family of 16. The woman’s dad is going back to Iraq to work as a contractor (more likely, to escape the insanity)

          • Uncle Fester says:

            200,000 over 8 years – 25,000 pa
She then has to cloth 6 kids, with an age range of aged 7, 6, 5, 3, and 2.
The sums really don’t add up… and based on the belittled ‘drain on society’ comments, I’d say we had ‘Republican Maths’ going (9.8 trillion dollar deficit =healthy economy…) here… one thing about Dems, they can usually balance the books while taxing… but calm your pointy head, someone else is paying too……

  7. KaBooM says:

She’s just a stupid woman. End of story.

  8. Jerry says:

And she is on food stamp also….

    • mothergoose says:

You’re right, she gets one stamp, once a month…

      • the_original_shortright says:

(i know what you’re saying about jerry’s ability to pluralize things but i needed to point this one fact out).
an LA Times article revealed she gets $490 in foodstamps monthly. but an interview with her mother says that she doesn’t pay for food or clothing or bedding or anything like that for her children. grandma and grandpa are paying for the 6 kids so far. so where exactly is that $490 monthly going? i’d think that the california tax payers would like it back… with interest.

        • Carmen T says:

I’d like to know how somebody with an income small enough to qualify for food stamps has the cash to go to a fertility doctor in Beverly Hills and get IVF done. I mean, I know the answer is “Fraud” but is she going to face charges for it? I’ll be surprised if she ever does.

          • the_original_shortright says:

i think the way it would work out… is she put the disability money towards the IVF. she got it in a lump sum rather than a yearly payout or anything, so it’s not like she’s getting an income from that. perhaps under a different name, or maybe just gave them all of it and then she had nothing left to her name. because she doesn’t work, she doesn’t have an income. by that definition she’s able to get the food stamps (income = 0). but the money that she’s either already given the clinic or kept under a different name is what paid for her IVF/plastic surgery. yeah, it’s fraud. but it’s not especially difficult to figure that one out.
i hope they take her ass to court and ask for the food stamp money back. if you’re able to pay out that much for everything else… wait on the nose-job and buy your kids some damned spaghetti-os.

            • FaileV says:

If she has children that have disabilities then she can get food stamps from it. I forgot the name of it SSI?, but anyway the point is perople with decent income can get foodstamps with disabled children, because those children are supposed to need more care than an average child.

              • Carmen T says:

Not in Cali. It’s the one exception to that:
“Currently, California is the only State in which SSI recipients are not eligible for the SNAP (Food Stamp) Program.”
Nadya Notright has been playing the system, and using marked cards.

  9. Uncle Fester says:

There is something very wrong with this picture.
    1) the clinic has one of the worst records in Calif, yet she carries 6 then 8 to term?
    2) The clinic has a rep for irregular financial dealings, and this isn’t an isured procedure, so who paid?

Who in their right mind would fund this?

    • mothergoose says:

Maybe she is the “Troll Mother” giving birth to a herd of future PK trolls…
      —-
I was under the impression that this woman’s family had some money, but they claim they didn’t pay for it…This kind of thing screams “Pharmaceutical Company Funding” to me…

      • Uncle Fester says:

*glances at the eggs he laid, now hanging from the ceiling by vascualr tentacles*
        No… I don’t hink she’s the troll mother…

The mother’s family have been bankrupt for a while, allegedly funding the first clutch

    • Lainie says:

We, as tax payers, funded it. It should be a law that you cannot have any artificial reproduction if you are on Government benefits.

    • MLD says:

If the clinic you refer to is K-P, she didn’t have the IVF done there. She went to Kaiser already pregnant. Just a side note

  10. P says:

Sounds like somebody who is missing the spotlight. She probably had a lot of attention when she had the first litter… now that nobody cares anymore, she needs to do something to get back in the limelight…

    • Sarah says:

She didn’t have sextuplets. she had 4 single births then one set of twins. they’re ages 2-7. Which makes it more despicable that a doctor would continue to use In Vitro treatment. That treatment is usually only used for parents with 1 or 2 children at the most, but most often only for couples with no children.

    • MLD says:

there was no first litter. She had 5 pregnancies for the six kids

  11. Uncle Fester says:

OK… I’m starting to smell cult here… Father’s name David Solomon (not her husband), her strange religious ramblings in interviews (well, strange for the first world, but par for the course in the US), the choice of names for the 8, he attempted name change in 01… who is the mysterious Mr Solomon?
It’s either religious or eugenic… and we still have no idea who paid…

  12. Alex says:

    This picture = WIN.

Every post on here = WIN.

I agree with everything here, this is ridiculous and the world is overpopulated already.

    • Lainie says:

And the world seems to be more overpopulated with losers & dregs on society.

      • Aedriel says:

Why does it seem to be primarily idiots who breed? We have enough Epsilons…

        • Lainie says:

The idiots definately seem to be more fertile…which is why i’m puzzled as to why she needed artificial fertilization.

        • Uncle Fester says:

We can never have enough Epsilons… who else will make our shoes?

        • Marshy says:

“Idiocracy”, while a dumb movie, explains it quite well. It’s not that the dumb people are more fertile. The smart people know how much responsibility, time, and money it takes to raise a baby. Some of those smart people will decide not to have kids, and the ones that do often just have a few. Now, the dumb people either don’t want to use birth control, or they think that parenting is like in the Johnson & Johnson commercials and don’t think about how hard it would be to care for a kid.

I hope her octuplets will be okay. Multiples often have lower birth rates, which often leads to other complications. The human uterus was not meant to carry 8 fetuses to term at once (UTERUS OVERLOAD! SHUTTING DOWN SYSTEM), so that’s going to do a lot more damage than say, quadruplets. One news source I read stated that this is the longest surviving set of octuplets, and Inside Edition said that the hospital bill for the delivery and care of the newborns is over one million dollars. Whose going to pay for that? I swear, this woman is nuttier than the Duggar family, and well, the Duggar family is pretty nuts if you ask me.

On top of all of this, the problem with having so many small children is that small children need some individual attention, and when they’re older they’ll want some privacy. But the mom can’t even afford to feed her kids. As much as I love the Beatles, love is not all you need… I can understand having a larger than average family if you’re like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. They have millions of dollars. They also have like, 7 kids and I hear they might adopt more. But that couple can afford to take care of several kids. They can get their kids anything they need and want. When the parents have to go to work, they can afford nannies and babysitters.

  13. Lainie says:

As if this bitch isn’t crazy enough, apparently she’s been COMPLAINING that people haven’t been donating things to her like people did for those other women who had litters of babies. (people were giving them cargo vans, lifetime supplies of diapers, formula, etc). I hope not a f-king THING gets donated to this lunatic. Also, apparently her “rep” contacted OPRAH AND SAID SHE’D AGREE TO AN INTERVIEW FOR $2MILLION…and Oprah said no thanks! HAHAHA!

    • Motas says:

      Smart woman, that Oprah.

    • the_original_shortright says:

she got ONE weeks worth of diapers… people are pissed that she’s so irresponsible in this economy. she has no job, no money, no house, doesn’t raise her own children… i wouldn’t give her anything except a swift kick in her “see you next tuesday”…

    • Helina says:

Its because even Oprah cant turn this story into an inspirational story. could you imagine?

“. . . And so I had eight more imp, anted in me, just for the hell of it.”

      “Bitch you crazy?!

  14. Lee says:

I don’t know if she was hoping for any kind of corporate hand out (like the diaper companies and toy companies to with other mothers who give births to multiples) but she won’t be getting any, just because of the backlash. Would you support a company that gave free things to this nutbar? I know I would not.
Is anyone supporting this publicly, besides her bats**t crazy self?

  15. Bspinky says:

This whole thing disgusts me really. I feel sorry for the kids that will have serious medical (and probably mental) issues for most of their lives because this loon wanted more kids.

I guess she was originally implanted with 6 embryos and 2 of them split (making 8) and i know the reason they implant a handful is because not all of them “take”. But seriously to even do this when someone clearly has no fertility issues is so very wrong. Its unethical and greedy on so many levels that every one of those doctors should lose their license. I’d say take “clown car crotch” off of disability too, she’s going to college now getting her masters there’s no reason she can’t work if she can pop out 14 kids.

    • Bspinky says:

      ugh…8* not 8) XD

    • the_original_shortright says:

she did have fertility issues, but once the embryos were implanted she had no issues with carrying to term. bit of a difference.
her mother is saying that she had her first miscarriage at 16 and found out then that her fallopian tubes were blocked and she’d be unlikely to ever have “natural” children. then during her 7 year marriage she did regular fertility treatments. after the divorce was when she started IVF with the swimmers of a friend.
the big ethical issue (which is what the doc is under review for) is that you’re only supposed to implant 1 or two embryos in a healthy female in her age range. not to mention that if the woman already has children at home you’re supposed to convince them not to do IVF. and on top of that, if they have DISABLED children at home you’re really supposed to tell them no.
her mother and father convinced one doctor to turn her away due to already having 6 children, 3 of whom have disabilities, and she just went to another doctor to get it done. i wonder how much the doctor actually knew about her other children when he agreed to implant all 6 embryos. i’d like to think he was clueless and octo-mom lied to him about it, but more than likely he knew and didn’t care because he was seeing the headlines and press and endorsements also.

    • MLD says:

Actually they don’t typically implant a handful. Absolute MAX is supposed to be 4, ethically, and they REALLY prefer to do a max of 2. Anything above that is a major risk.

  16. Rontu says:

I feel bad for this woman. She obviously has no idea what she’s getting into, and she and her children are going to suffer for it.

I think I read somewhere that she plans on getting a degree so she can provide a better life for her kids… why didn’t she try doing that before having 8 extra babies? She’ll never be able to at this point- even taking courses at home I can’t imagine she’d ever have the time with 14 children running around. That’s like the size of a classroom.

I got a caption for this picture-
Family planning: Ur doin it rong.

    • Uncle Fester says:

She managed to get IVF treatment WHILE doing the degree… that means someone else is paying…

      • ubr says:

she’s been receiving money from a workers comp claim that she got in 1999…

        • Uncle Fester says:

It’s unlikely to cover the IVF…

          • ubr says:

unless she got run over by a truck multiple times, no.

          • rhorho says:

I haven’t heard about whether she received money in the divorce
settlement, but that could be a possibility. She had money to get
rhinoplasty, too, somehow. She receives $490 in food stamps,
assistance for the three special needs children, disability compen-
sation, and possibly alimony. She lives rent free, but the money
still isn’t adding up. I wonder if the bio-father is kicking in some
            cash.

The births must have been horrendous! If the kids took after Mom,
they were all born with their palms out…OUCH!!

          • Lainie says:

I thought you were almighty & knew everything?
Workers comp is a CHECK, they get a check every month…they don’t have to show what they use it for. Hell, they can buy beer with it if they want.

            • Aedriel says:

              Oh no! BEER! How awful!

              • pittypat says:

Lions and Tigers and Beers, oh my!

              • Lainie says:

Hey douchebag, where in my post was I saying beer was bad? I was saying that she could use her money for in-vitro if she wanted, or beer if she chose. Maybe I should have said something more hardcore than beer, like cocaine or heroin. Is that better?

            • Comp is, indeed, a regular check during periods of disability (or partial disability) caused by an on-the-job injury. It also pays for your medical care for the on-the-job injury, and (at least in most states) if the injury causes a permanent injury or permanent physical restrictions (e.g., lost a leg, etc.) the injured worker can very often get a lump-sum settlement rather than getting partial disability over a longer period of time. (All this varies from state to state, and I’ll openly admit I am completely ignorant of California’s comp laws as I don’t practice there!) And, yes, since it’s a (somewhat lesser) fill-in for your regular paycheck because you got hurt doing your job and can’t do it for a time, you can damn well spend it on whatever you’d normally spend your paycheck on, including beer.

  17. Betty Boondoggle says:

The caption is racist. Regardless of all the hypocritical judgment of this woman going on (here and elsewhere) she and her children are human beings. Calling them a litter is outright insulting to these innocent children.

If she were a white, married, christian woman, she’d have a t.v. show on TLC. Everyone would be celebrating it. But she’s not white and not married therefore she’s a horrible, selfish lunatic who everyone in the world can’t wait to insult and judge.

Bigotry, apparently, still wins over basic human decency.

    • Uncle Fester says:

What religion is she? I thought it could only be Christian,or some spaceship cultist, since she’s a loon monkey breeding machine, … but I suppose there are Loon monkey, breeding machines in Judaism and Islam too…

      • Uncle Fester says:

She is self described as “half Arabic, half Lithuanian” Protestant. Sonds Christian to me… and as a point of order, she could be so damned white that David Duke and the Aryan Nation are celebrating 14 new race warriors and I’d still say she was a loon monkey…

    • You mean species-ist? I don’t see where “litter” has anything to do with her race.

    • mothergoose says:

And you probably laugh at Polish Jokes, Blonde Jokes, etc…etc…lighten up! Get a sense of humor, they’re nice…you should try one!

    • the_original_shortright says:

      CARETROLL!

      but i’ll feed it anyway.

no, this caption isn’t racist. it’s stating a fact that this woman is beyond all doubt, completely nuts. if she were in the EXACT same situation she is in now but was a white, married, christian and had 8 children on top of having 6 more at home she wouldn’t get a tv show. people don’t give a shit about her religion or her skin tone or her marital status… they care about the fact that she is NOT working to support her children. she is NOT caring for her sick children at home. people are pissed that she is running around giving interviews rather than sitting in the NICU worrying over her 8 sick children there. people are pissed that she is milking the disability and welfare systems while still managing to pay for plastic surgery and at least 6 rounds of incredibly expensive IVF.

now, if she had a good paying job and lived on her own and took care of her children herself (rather than making grandma do it for her) i wouldn’t give a rats ass how many kids she popped out.

but she didn’t. she’s broke. she doesn’t have a job. she doesn’t have a house. she doesn’t take care of ANY of her children. she doesn’t deserve ANYTHING from anyone other than a lot of hate. the children are innocent though, which is why they should be removed from this situation as QUICKLY as possible and given to people who WILL care for them and WILL pay attention to them and WILL take care of their medical issues.

but as for you screaming “racist” – shut the hell up and pay attention to what the real issues are before you assume that we’re all racist.

    • the_original_shortright says:

i wrote a big comment on here but it’s being held up by PK because i got ticked off and swore a lot… it’ll show eventually.

word to the wise though: this octo-mom really ticks me off, so this d-bag defending her got the brunt of it.

    • Jiggity says:

I think you mean speciesist, not racist. And none of this is hypocritical, because this woman has no means to support or raise these children. She’s relying completely on her parents to do the work.

    • Helina says:

What the hell are you on? They used the world litter as a deragatory term pertaining to HER UNUSUALLY AND UNNATURALLY LARGE AMOUNT OF CHLDREN.

And litter it is! Eight kids at once, plus six more at home, all on the public dole.

      • Uncle Fester says:

To agree with the above poster… I thought the phrase ‘litter’ was well chosen.

        • viking gal says:

My mother’s a twin, and she uses the term ‘litter’ to describe herself. It isn’t derogatory. Unlike ‘crotch monkey’!?!

          • In my experience, people who use terms like that tend to have a really nasty attitude towards anyone who has kids, and towards kids in general (never mind the fact that at one point they were kids themselves…). On the other hand, it always reminds me of “Sea Monkeys”. [link] :-)

    • ubr says:

      she’s not white? i didn’t notice.

    • FaileV says:

you know…honest to god when i heard this story i had no idea of race in my mind, then when i saw the picture above i thought she was white my ethnicity incidentally for any that would like to call me ‘racist against white people’ (it’s happened) rather curious really. the thing i do know is this little care troll is probably the most racist of us. anyone that likes to scream racism when someone is being judged for who they are as a person, not their skin color, obviously thinks about race quite a bit, and just likes to dance and pretend they’re decent people by saying all the right things about ‘tolerance’
I rather hate that word ‘tolerance’ as if they are some sort of annoying thing we can’t be bothered to get rid of.
no i think i’ll keep to my ways of not realizing what race a person belongs to.

    • Stormy says:

      I smell troll bait.

    • Marshy says:

This woman is recieving more criticism than the Duggars and John and Kate because she intentionally had a huge multiple pregnancy when she couldn’t even care for the kids she already has. While I don’t agree with the Duggars either, at least they can actually care for their kids. I’ve only seen one episode of John and Kate, but from what I see they can also afford to take care of their kids.

      • Pooksie says:

Actually the Duggars use their elder children to care for the younger children. Hence why only Gramma Duggar was present in the house while Jim Bob and Michelle went on vacation. And why there was so much chaos when the older girls went to Florida with the oldest boy to help out with wedding stuff.

(They’re ending up my thesis topic in sociology, actually. About how one family can literally be so selfish with the earth’s space and resources that they’d send 100,000+ disposable diapers to the landfills)

(actually just a paper on incredibly huge families and the methods they DO NOT employ that is the cause of the decline of the earth)

I’m sorry, but a litter is exactly what she had (the group of young animals–and humans ARE animals, scientifically–born to an animal at one time).

And PLEASE go look up the definition of racist. Because racist, this caption AINT.

I dont give a flying fish what color, religion, or whatever she is. I am appalled that she’d have eight kids, especially in an already dangerously overpopulated world, when she ALREADY has SIX MORE.

    • Lainie says:

Well the white women who have those shows also have I-N-C-O-M-E to support their litter. Dumbass.

  18. Helina says:

She’s insane, and not the good kind of insane.

I feel horrible for her kids, can you imagine having thirteen siblings? Almost all of them your own age? They will have no privacy, their house will never be quiet, carpools for school will be hell, and they probably wont be able to develop close relationships among themselves equally like children with only two or three siblings would. How the hell are they going to pay for college? How are they going to pay for their grocery bill?!

Pluss it must be embarrassing being known to have a mother who reproduced like a rabbit for the sake of her own selfish desires.

I read a little bit ago that the grandmother is the only one taking care of the current litter of kids, which is just wrong. I have more respect for the grandmother than I have for that woman and her doctor rolled into one. Im still waiting for protective services to come and take the kids away.

It may be considered racist in our politically correct world, but it’s the truth

Madam, it’s a uterus, not a clown car!

Seriously, the doctors are the ones to blame for letting this looney tunes continue to procreate.

Instead of outfitting her clown car, um uterus, with 8 fetuses, they should have been spaying the crazy bitch.

This woman disguts me. my husband and I have tryed so hard to have just one more baby, just one more so our son can have a brother or sister and we cant. we cant afford the treatments to get it done, no responsible, money wise family can just go blow 25thousand a treatment.

  25. Nulono says:

You guys are overreacting. She was infertile, so she had IVF. The IVF created extra embryos which she refused to have killed.

    • pdq says:

*headdesk headdesk headdesk* Ow. That hurts almost as much as how uninformed you are does.

    • FaileV says:

normally an infertile person will get 1-2 implanted in case one doesn’t take. If both take and 2 split (the odds against this are…well lots) that makes 4 babies. 2×2=4. now she had 6 first, none split, she was implanted with 6 eggs, so it wasn’t a surprise. You may find this surprising but, after a kid is born they don’t split into embryos, that means the batch of 8 was implanted AFTER she had already had 6 kids. i dunno if you’ve ever been around 6 kids at once, but it’s kind of a big deal. this time she was implanted and there was a split, so she has 8…it isn’t a matter of just IVF, it’s a matter of she had lots of children already, and she wanted that many embryos in her womb. kindly go dunk your head

    • Mandala says:

No. She suckerd some idiot doctor into implanting WAY too many embryos. Some doctors are also swearing that there’s no way in hell that two of the eggs split into twins unless she took extra fertility drugs on top of the IVF.

      The woman disgusts me. Period.

    • Marshy says:

I don’t care how many kids she intended to have. She shouldn’t have tried to have even one more kid when she can’t take care of her current ones. Don’t most doctors only implant one or two embryos? If all doctors implanted six at a time, you’d see way more multiples.

    • HistoryMaker says:

She didn’t need to use all the embrios at once.
Pluss you can give away leftover embrios.
It wasnt a choice between use them all now or destroy them.

    • MLD says:

I’m going to assume Nulono means idiot in some obscure language.

First, she already HAD six kids.

Second, she HAD six (or eight, depends on the version of the story you hear) eggs implanted, and that resulted in EIGHT babies.

Third, ethical guidelines for IVF state the IDEAL max for IVF is TWO embryos. TWO. That’s a LOT less than what was done.

      That’s KINDA A BIG DEAL

  31. sassy says:

Why is it that we must pass a test to drive a car, fly a plane, or own a gun (legally) and yet any nut job with a uterus can breed? Mind you, I don’t see her as a bad person per se, just a whack job that is milking a system in a country that gives handouts to any Tom Dick or Harry that asks….and yet makes it near immpossible for the average tax paying, law abiding system! I feel that you should have as many children as you can care for (financially, emotionally and spiritually.) If that means 1 child, or 4, or 7 , if you can provide ALL of a childs needs, then go at it! But this womans “gimmie” attitude and milking of the system just proves it…. Maybe we should require a test before sex! (or invitro….)

  32. sassy says:

Oh as a second thought…. having that many kids in a like 6 year period is going to majorly take a toll on her body, so maybe she’ll be elegable for a Darwin award after birthing herself to death!!!!

  33. Rontu says:

Really, it’s pointless for everyone to criticize her about this. She’ll learn soon enough what a mistake this was, and her life will be a nightmare… especially if the media is painting this in such an evil picture, and no diaper or toy company wants to be caught handing out charities and gifts to her. I have a feeling she’s going to receive very little help now that she has this reputation. What she will go through will be much worse than anything people can say about her on this forum.

    • sassy says:

I agree, no decent diaper company is going to help her. But unfortunitly, it’s her kids that will suffer. And unfortunitly, we live in a society that thrives on handouts. No one can stop her. If you take her kids, she’ll just have the government pay to make more,.and society won’t sterilize her. She depends on others to care for them, and is p.o’d that she’s not getting enough. I agree, her situation is punishement, though not nearly enough.

      • froofrou says:

At the risk of drawing fire…….this is a prime example of a woman exercising her right to choose. She chose to have that many. The moral judgment of her being able to raise them is a little bit beside the point here.

        • Aedriel says:

I think when someone’s a little off kilter, more should be taken into account than whether or not she has the simple right to have children. There’s a lot more going on here than the fact that she has a lot of kids.

          • froofrou says:

I know that she’s damaged, I’m just saying that for all the rancor aimed at the proponents of ‘pro-life’ (‘it’s the woman’s body! Let her choose what to do with it!!!!), I find it funny that now they’re saying we need a lock and key on a woman’s womb so she can’t birth as many kids as she damn well pleases. Just sayin’……..

            • Aedriel says:

Well I’m an odd case, but I certainly see what you’re getting at. The way I see it, if someone does not have kids, that’s not going to significantly alter the lives of other people in their community. If someone DOES, however, the impact of that is potentially much greater, especially with so many, and also when you consider the lives of 14 children who will all have a loony mum… so, having children should be more thoroughly considered than not having children.

I wonder if I make sense, or if I just sound like a nazi…

              • froofrou says:

No, you make sense, but it still falls under ‘a woman’s right to choose’, even if that choice is to have 57 kids and move in with the Duggars. We have to hae some consistency in the arguments if we want them to make sense.

                • Aedriel says:

                  I’m not pro-choice. I’m pro-abortion. I’m not being hypocritical.

                    • froofrou says:

LOL. Ok then, so you’re consistent. What about the scads of others who claim to be ‘pro-choice’ and then waggle their fingers at this woman?
                      -
P.S. I didn’t know people would go the politically incorrect route of being pro-abortion. I admire your firm stance, even if I don’t agree with you :-)

                      • Aedriel says:

Pro-choicers specifically reference the miserable lives of children who are unwanted or poorly cared for. Many believe that this woman is incapable of caring for her children adequately, hence the finger-shaking.

But for an accurate response you’ll have to ask a pro-choice person, I’m a bitter and cold-hearted eugenecist who thinks the human race has become something of a cesspool. Yeah, I’m sour…

                        • froofrou says:

But you have to understand that ‘pro-choice’ is a double-edged sword. If you can choose NOT to keep a baby, you can choose TO keep one as well, and it all falls under the same umbrella. Poor living conditions or not, it’s still a choice, and if the woman’s body is her own, and fetus be damned, then the woman’s body is her own, and child be damned.

                        • Aedriel says:

                          I think it’s a mercy-on-the-child thing. Like I said, ask a pro-choice person… as far as I’m concerned, everyone’s damned.

Her uterus’s rights stop at my door, and it’s there banging and
                          yelling “gimme!”.
Her uterus was not enabled to work, and required lots and lots of
other peoples money to fill it up with its kids.
She is not “exercising her rights as a woman, ohhh so Lillith!”.
She is presenting the state and country with eight more kids she can’t
                          and won’t care for.

And sadly, those children will be damned if social services don’t
                          step in.

If this formats funny, I’m sorry, it’s being weird for me.

                        • froofrou says:

Still her choice to have them.

                        • Christine says:

@froo: I’m pro-choice and I support her choice to have as many children as she wants. But that doesn’t mean that I have to agree with her choice. Kind of goes with oft repeated misquote of Voltaire, “I may not agree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it.” I think that having that many children, with the current state of overpopulation and raping of the earth resources is not the most responsible choice, but she should still be allowed to make it. I’m certainly not going to stop her or force her to abort. Unlike anti-abortion rights advocates that would force a woman to carry to term.

                        • froofrou says:

I agree with you. However, the level of vitriol aimed at this woman for exercising her right to choose is funny to me.

                        • rhorho says:

Froo, once kids are on the outside, they are
not property. Pro-choice does not extend to
                          cover any time after birth.

There are courts in place to protect the rights
of minors. People are concerned about
those children because the mother has
demonstrated no ability to care for them,
                          period.

You know my stance on choice/life. There is
a demonstrable breach of medical ethics
involved in knowingly creating a medical
                          emergency, especially where childrens’ lives
are involved. The doctor involved here will
                          likely lose his license.

If the woman had conceived octuplets
naturally, it would have been her weird luck,
and we wouldn’t be having half of this
                          discussion.

Anyway, she had the right to *have* all eight,
but she has no right to keep them if she can’t
take care of them. She may wind up losing
part of the six she couldn’t handle before
                          this birth.

                        • froofrou says:

I’m not debating the fact that the woman isn’t fit to keep
the kids, nor would I be against CPS sending the kids to
better homes. But the bulk of the arguments here are
“OMG HOW DARE SHE EVEN HAVE THE KIDS!!!! HOW DARE
SHE GET PREGNANT! HOW DARE SHE CARRY ALL 8 TO
TERM!”, and it seems a little hypocritical for people to say
they’d rather she had aborted the babies as opposed to
carrying them full term. That’s where my amusement lies,
not in the fact that the woman is obviously abusing the
system, and shouldn’t have the kids she had previously,
much less the ones she just gave birth to. The fact that she
CHOSE to have them, and to use HER body to carry them to
term is somehow wrong in this case. Apparently, in this case,
                          forced abortions are ok.
                          -
At least, that’s how it seems based on the news coverage that
I’ve seen, the comments that I’ve read, and the general
feeling of hatred for this woman, who probably needs mental
help more than she needs forced sterilization.
                          -
Now, the doctor is another story altogether. From what I’ve read,
I gather that it’s not illegal to implant that many embryos,
but it is frowned upon. However, for him to pull a stunt like that
and to deprive these children of a good quality of life puts him
lower than pond scum in my book. He and this ‘mother’ should
go live a sterile, loveless existence somewhere far far away
                          from here.

I think there’s a line of distinction that needs
to be drawn here. I have the right to wear an
ugly dress, and you have the right to say it’s
ugly. You don’t have the right to force me to
                          wear something else.

In this case, well, same thing. She has the
right to carry the children, and we have the
right to b!tch about it, but we don’t have the
right to force her to abort.

The doctor doesn’t face criminal charges, but
he is already being reviewed, and may have
his license revoked. He is the last one who
had a choice in the matter. I know this isn’t
medically ethical, either, but I wish he had
implanted only two, and lied. Suleman is
very lucky the babies have lived this long,
                          and that she is okay.

I hope she gets a visit from a Workers’

about CPS, WC, and any other gov’t organization
that feels the need to investigate her for fraud.

                        • I’m a little late to the discussion, but my two cents — I really don’t have a problem with people having as many kids as they want to. Hell, I had 4…my concern in this case is not that she chose (unwisely, in my opinion) to have more kids than her or her extended family can reasonably handle. My issue is that a medical professional, who had to know that she already had 6 kids under 7, recklessly implanted at least 6 more embryos in her.

That’s a decision that not only was very questionable for the health of the embryos but which could easily have been life-threatening to the mother as well. “First, do no harm”….and I think his choice could very, very easily have done some. In my opinion, it was unethically risky, and I question her capacity at this point to make an informed decision (the mother). When a doctor has a patient that’s potentially mentally unstable and may be making decisions on that basis, I think he has a responsibility to follow up on that before taking action.

Her, I feel sorry for, really. I think she’s the maternal equivalent of those people who hoard animals; they generally have the best of intentions but ultimately they can’t really care for that many animals and everyone suffers.

I find it amusing that vociferous opponents of abortion are so havily pro-death penalty in a flawed system…
Me, if I _knew_ the guy was guilty I’d tear his throat out myself and watch him die, but, based on the fact I don’t have god like powers of omniscience, I don’t…
The state is even less god like than me, so I don’t see the point of being pro-death penalty…
With this woman… if she wanted to be a brood mare, then fine.
I don’t have a uterus and her breeding rights are hers. I have the right to think she’s a screaming nut ball who should never have been given treatment.
IMO, she shouldn’t expect to keep the kids in what will be essentially pverty and squalor, especially with the physiological problems one gets with that sort of high birth number premies.

                        • tinuviel says:

To me, this is less an issue of ‘pro-choice’ than ‘informed consent’. By making the decision to have the treatment in the first place, despite the six children she already had at home, and her inability to provide a reasonable standard of care for them, she is demonstrating that she is not mentally healthy enough to make the choice in the first place.

It seems similar to me to the idea behind safe/sane/consensual BDSM. A person may have a castration fetish, and may enjoy role playing around that, but if they were to make the decision to actively seek a permanent physical operation (usually performed by dodgy amateurs or struck-off practitioners) they would therefore demonstrate that they may be in need of attention
                          from a mental health practitioner.

                          If that makes sense?

            • Aedriel says:

              Also,

‘pro-life’ (’it’s the woman’s body! Let her choose what to do with it!!!!)

Pro-choice are the ones who tend towards the argument of “let her choose,” hence pro-choice. I’m fairly sure you meant pro-choice, but either way doesn’t change my thoughts on the matter :P

              • froofrou says:

No, I meant pro-life. I was speaking about the rancor aimed at pro-lifers, and giving the normal arguments against them :-)

                • Aedriel says:

Ah. I see… ’scuse the booze, it screws with my reading comprehension.

                • Uncle Fester says:

But as I’ve pointed out before… there’s usually a lot more hypocrisy in the anti-choice movement than the pro-abortion one…

                  • froofrou says:

A lot of the ‘hypocrisy’ stems from viewing the fetus as innocent and not deserving to die, while the grown man (or woman) who chopped someone into tiny pieces with an axe prime bullet fodder. It seems hypocritical if you’re only looking at the ‘death vs life’ and not the fact that the murderer (or rapist or whatever, insert your favorite crime here) is old enough to make the desision that could lead to him getting executed for his troubles.

            • Danbala says:

              I certainly agree with you.

    • MLD says:

TAXPAYER DOLLARS– what’s going to end up paying to raise the litter. In an already bankrupt state. YOU shut up.

  35. oranegreen says:

I saw what her house looked like on the news this morning, rather her mother’s 3-bedroom house
it’s a fetid mess…and she brought 8 more kids into the world? The government will have to step in and take them away because I cannot see them being taken care of properly any time soon

  36. Wade says:

Maybe justice will come in the hell that many kids will cause her.

  37. Lainie says:

I just read an article this morning about how she admits to currently receiving like $500 worth of foodstamps monthly, and will CONTINUE TO RECEIVE FOOD STAMPS WHEN THE BABIES COME HOME, AND IS ELIGIBLE FOR AROUND $3,000/MONTH. FOR FOOD ALONE.
And justifies this by saying “Yes I get foodstamps, but that’s not considered welfare”. Uh, what? No technically it’s not welfare, but it’s still tax-payer funded Government assistance! Jesus Christ, my INCOME is about $3,000/month…and that’s her Gov assistance grocery allowance? I pray to God she loses her benefits & is charged with fraud..but she won’t, because the Gov REWARDS losers. Lazy non-working drains on society continue to gobble up their benefits every day. Free groceries! Free healthcare! Free housing! Why wouldn’t people want to sit on their @ss all day & pop out babies?

    • Uncle Fester says:

Because they’re not all idle rednecks… Based on your logic, I can see from your post that all American tax payers are eyepopping ranters with a massive chip on their shoulder… has to be true since you are and one represents the many…

      • Lainie says:

WTF is your problem? I am an “eyepopping ranter with a massive chip on my shoulder” because I don’t like paying taxes to support LAZY PIECES OF SH-T WHO CHOOSE NOT TO WORK, BUT RATHER SIT HOME & COLLECT HANDOUTS?? I think I represent the majority. Maybe you enjoy donating your money for people who have never worked a day in their life or people that aren’t even US Citizens, but get rewarded with benefits from popping out babies here. And no, not all people on Gov benefits are idle rednecks, but MOST ARE. Go ahead, get pissed off & respond with a nasty message. I better get back to my job, where I work my @ss off for hardly any money, to make sure these deadbeats are happy & taken care of. F-king Prick.

        • Aedriel says:

You put up a nasty message to start. Don’t expect people to bring you flowers for it.

          • Lainie says:

My message was only nasty to dumbasses sitting in their trailer collecting benefits…if that insults you, that says a lot. And I don’t remember asking for your opinion? And if they had a smiley face giving the middle finger, i’d use it here.

            • froofrou says:

Aw, you’re a nice sort. Toddle on back to your corner and take off your angry eyes. You don’t have to be confrontational here. If not, I have a nice, shiny cup of STFU and GTFO for her RIGHT HERE.

              • Lainie says:

Oh a cup of STFU and GTFO, so intimidating. Terrifying really. You sure told me off…

                • froofrou says:

I fail to see why you’re so hostile from the get-go. Fester was AGREEING with you, if you didn’t catch that.

                  • Lainie says:

Um no he wasn’t. He referred to me as an “eye popping ranter with a massive chip on my shoulder”. And when people DEFEND these lazy handout recipients, I get really hostile. Why should I work over 50 hours a week and never see my kids, all to support deadbeats who would rather get a free ride from tax-payers than actually go get a job or at least TRY to get one. Or to pretend they are “disabled” so they can milk the system for as long as possible. It’s not fair and I don’t believe those people deserve an OUNCE of sympathy or kindness. Maybe you & Fester have enough money to spare, but I sure as f-ck don’t.

            • spidermiss2426 says:

Well.. I’m currently sitting in my double-wide trailor (and I’m far from a redneck, I’m from the city and I have two college degrees, my first I received at age 19) collecting disability (for multiple mental problems and a few physical problems to boot), and I’m not insulted. Although I worked my ass off before collecting disability. I’m only 32, and it wasn’t an easy choice. I want to mention here that I don’t plan on having children ever and do not have any now. Also, I’m living here in this trailor because I moved in with my friend and his mother, and they JUST happen to own a trailor.

I suppose you consider me the scum of the earth, judging from your hostility.

BTW– coming from someone with three mental disorders, who comes from a family who all had mental problems, I think you need to take a deep breath… because if people think I’m crazy, what do they say about those who are supposed to be sane when they react like that?

  38. Green Is Good says:

Get those kids away from her before she goes “Andrea Yates” on them.

    • Literal says:

Well said, kind sir (madam). How soon we forget such tragedies.

    • Lainie says:

Very good point. I have 3 kids and can barely handle them. And as much irritation as I have for her, I also feel very sorry for her because no human being can take care of that many kids and keep their sanity. Those poor kids. Though I think she’ll end up having a staff of nannies or something, i’m sure she’ll find a way to get that free too.
As much as id like to sit back & enjoy her drowning in responsibility and losing her mind, the only ones getting hurt by that are those kids.
But you don’t have to have lots of kids to be crazy enough to kill them, look at that nutjob Casey Anthony. She had the cutest & sweetest kid on earth and murdered her.

      • Marshy says:

Her sanity is long gone, my friend. If you have 6 embryos implanted in you (2 of them split) when you already have 6 kids who are already here that you can’t take care of, then you’ve clearly flown over the cuckoo’s nest.

There’s been speculation that she’s had plastic surgery to look like Angelina Jolie. I saw some older pictures of her, and I saw the recent ones. Her lips are noticably larger. Her nose also seems slightly different, but it could just be the angel of the camera. If this woman wants to be Jolie, she fails. Hard. Jolie is a millionaire who can afford to care for a villiage of children. Nadya lives in her parent’s 3 bedroom house and is on food stamps. Jolie, as far as we can tell, has a stable mental health. Nadya is clearly nuts. Jolie can afford to hire nannies and babysitters to watch the kids while she’s working. Nadya relies on her mother to watch the kids (I believe her father went back to Iraq as a translator/driver to help support the kids she already had), and if she still has her kids when they get older, chances are she’s going to have to rely on the older kids to watch the octuplets like many large families (such as the Duggars) do. Jolie also gets bonus points for taking kids out of poverty and into a good home.

  39. Rotten Jack says:

    It’s a vagina, not a clown car.

  40. ElDavid says:

Oh, great. More people. Just what we needed. Thanks.

  41. Lance E Sloan says:

She doesn’t have enough nipples? Just wait, she’ll go for surgery to correct that next. I mean, she’s had a medical procedure to have a set of six kids, and then eight kids, and a really bad lip enhancement somewhere along the line. What’s to stop her from getting more mammaries?

  42. fahrrad says:

Dies ist ein großer Ort. Ich möchte hier noch einmal.

  43. Brook says:

This is the reason im not going to have childeren.

  44. Brianna says:

She disgusts me too honestly. There’s just something incredibly pretentious and conniving about her.
