Perhaps, though backing down would only encourage them more. I think the only thing to do is keep goading them on until they realize that they’re only making themselves look foolish. The downside is that it will probably take a good long while for it to sink in.

I was more surprised to find out that GOP staffers had invited Joe the Plumber to their weekly strategy meeting. I couldn’t even come up with anything snarky to ridicule it… it ridicules itself to a far greater extent than I could ever hope to muster. I just keep seeing Sarah Palin as their Choice in ‘12 and wonder why no one else sees the whole “porch light’s on and no one’s home” affect her eyes give off…I thought maybe they were trying for the Ross Perot “folksie” movement, but at least Perot was intelligent… nuts… but intelligent.

weasels. Love of country and all that… seems to me like the thing to do in a “President Palin” situation (shudder) is to stay and try to fix it, or at least limit the damage. Anyway, if I didn’t leave during eight years of Dubya, I don’t think there’s anything that could possibly dislodge me.
The thought of living in a Goddball-free zone does appeal mightily though… I envy the Europeans their freedom from such things.

Kind of “culling the herd”…so to speak. I’ve tried again and again to see the neo-con point of view…and I’m not poking fun here…Most of it just doesn’t seem rational to me. I have some very good friends whom i respect greatly who are “Conservative” and even they feel that most of the ultra-right has lost touch with the times…
As I see it, the Republican party needs to eject the evangelical wing if they ever hope to recapture any of the political center. Time will tell if the recent drubbing was pain enough to get them to consider it, but it looks to me like they’re still too afraid to lose that much of the base. (As if they’ve anywhere else to go…)

@UsualSuspect – there’s a difference between people using their photo (diss does too) and this nut job using hers. she’s a complete and total narcissist on top of being a compulsive liar. any time she lies, she “sources” her myspace page as proof that it’s not a lie. this myspace page has HUNDREDS of photos of her in the exact same poses and clothing, indicating she’ll take 10, 15, 20 photos all at one shot for no apparent reason. she also fishes for compliments like it’s her job. no stable woman spouts on about how “i think i’m good looking, check my myspace” unless she’s looking for someone to reply with “yeah, you’re hot”. it’s just not normal.
to summarize, using your own photo isn’t a terrible thing. this nutjob using her own photo is laughable at best and a desperate cry for clinical help at worst.

If they didn’t, you’ll have “View | Delete”, which means it’s yours only and can’t be submitted. Usually I find an alternate pic when that happens.
