Did you know that using graphite lubricant on door hinges increases your chances of contracting xanthoma?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…
You libs do realize you got your guy in office now right? I mean I know many Obama voters know little about politics but really.
You cons do realize that the outgoing administration was the worst in American history, right? And that we’ll be dancing on their political graves for many years to come? You won’t rid yourself of this albatross that easily. Really.
Not really; reference Jimmy Carter please.
Jimmy Carter is and was a great human being and a great American. He was a suck President though. It was despite his very best intentions, and intent counts for an awful lot.
Bill Clinton was a suck President too. ZING!
Bill Clinton was a suck president too.
Oh dammit >.< sorry for double post.
You’ve just proven the point against Wolvie. Righties have had
a lot of fun with Clinton jokes, but whine at the Leftie jokes
about Bush.
And it’s still January! LMAO!!
i’m just getting sick of hearing the same ones… bush is stupid, bush is an imbecile… bush is cheney’s puppet… we need some new material… maybe he can shoot someone with a shotgun this time…
In the face!
You don’t think Clinton’s blow job is old? You have my
permission to begin complaining in two years.
yeah, i got sick of those in about 2000… but your point is well taken…
and hey, at least blow jobs are interesting… and lead to a lot of jokes that don’t suck…
Birthday Reminder:
-
This week we celebrate a special birthday. Monica Lewinsky turned 34. Can you believe it?
-
It seems like only yesterday she was crawling around the White House on her hands and knees, putting everything in her mouth.
-
They grow up so fast.. don’t they?
LOL!! Good one!
I just remembered one:
Why does Bill Clinton wear wool underpants?
-
-
-
To keep his ankles warm.
Yeah, it’s just TOO easy …
And now, for an equal opportunity BJ joke.
-
-
Why don’t you want Monica Lewinsky and Tonto borrowing your car?
-
-
-
-
You’ll wind up with a blown Injun.
LOL, rhorho.
Wool underpants.
Do you suppose they make him feel, well, sheepish?
What do they call the Clinton era?
Sex between the Bushes….
haha, nice one literal… you just proved my point…
Here’s another one:
‘
George Bush has started an ill-timed and
disastrous war under false pretenses by
lying to the American people and to the
Congress; he has run a budget surplus
into a severe deficit; he has consistently
and unconscionably favored the wealthy
and corporations over the rights and needs
of the population; he has destroyed trust
and confidence in, and good will toward,
the United States around the globe; he has
ignored global warming, to the world’s
detriment; he has wantonly broken our
treaty obligations; he has condoned torture
of prisoners; he has attempted to create a
theocracy in the United States; he has
appointed incompetent cronies to positions
of vital national importance.
‘
Now, would someone please give him a
blow job so we can impeach him?
Dude. you need more transition in your comments. you cant go:
…and thats why i believe the bees are going away. ROFL!!!!
LMAO BITCHES!!!!
If your trying to make a statement that is easy to respect,
try not to sound ADD.
Jimmy Carter sucks as a human being too because of his actions and intentions. He needs to keep his nose out of the Mid-East situation and keep quiet about his obvious hatred towards Israel.
Pointing out that Israel is not a completely innocent player in the conflict = hatred?
Interesting point of view. It makes no sense though. I respect Jimmy Carter’s adherence to truth in the face of pressure to forgive anything Israel does. He exhibits the sort of courage I’d like to see more of from both political parties in relation to Israel.
Carter’s “actions and intentions” won him the Nobel Peace Prize.
You may disagree with his politics, but you come across as an
idiot when you say Carter has “obvious hatred towards Israel.”
You’re just wrong. Stupid and wrong.
I bet some of your best friends are black, too.
I used to be fairly neutral in the whole Israel/Palestinian conflict; it seems to me that neither side has the moral high ground. However, the more I listen to idiots like Sunny Sue, the more I’m starting to see the Arab’s side of things. If Israelis would just realize that one genocide does not justify kicking people out of the homes their ancestors have occupied for hundreds of years, and that maybe the Palestinian people have a right to be a little peeved, maybe we could get something done about setting up some kind of two state solution.
haha… jimmy carter…
MMM, what about Bill Clinton. Too busy to be a really decent president. Blew up an aspirin factory. Failed to get Osama Bin Laden when he was all but handed to him on a plate. Leaves office with the economy in the decline. Now is the butt of jokes from both dems and pubs.
See, here’s the thing…OK, so, if the economy was in decline when Clinton left office, Bush had 8 FRIGGIN’ YEARS TO FIX IT!!!! What a great job he did!
—
“Clinton blew up an aspirin factory”…true, but he also didn’t get thousands of Soldiers killed and crippled in a war that he MADE UP AND MANIPULATED INTEL TO GET!
—
“Failed to get Osama Bin Laden”…and Bush DID???????
—
“Butt of jokes”…’nuff said
No, instead he bombed Iraq the day of his impeachment. Wooo-hoo!
In all fairness, Bush never really had the opportunity to get bin Ladin…
And, yeah, the economy’s been booming for most of the last 8 years. Partially due to a money policy that was far too loose, but that’s a different problem entirely. But please don’t act like the housing bubble burst should be laid at the feed of Bush. It’s silly and makes you look like a twit.
He bombed Iraq destroying the last of the WMD’s that Bush wasted our soldiers and our economy looking for five years later.
Idiot.
Don’t forget over 90 murders of our own citizens in Waco.
I don’t joke about him much, though I’ll laugh at one if it’s good. He shoved himself down our throats for a long time; it was nice to get a rest from it.
OH! WACO! too much… the ultimate Right wing playing card… perfection…
This really is beyond priceless… It out Kaufman’s Kaufman…
and to think I though it was just a silly little girl posting when it’s really satire gold… I’m almost ashamed…
-
OK
-
That last bit was a lie… I have no shame… but hey, I’ll leave performance art comedy to the master here…
Waco was a tragic clusterfsck with plenty of blame to go around on both sides. (The Branch Davidian events, not the city in general…) I was driving through there with one of my kids a couple years age, and mentioned to her what had happened there; she said that it would be interesting to stop and see where that happened. I told her it probably wasn’t something the city promoted as a tourist attraction…
…a couple of years AGO. I cannot type; I have the dumb.
No, I wouldn’t imagine they do. But the senate investigation results were pretty definitive. The people had some issues, but by accounts they were decent citizens; and Koresh was easily had when he went to town. Definitely a clusterf^%$, but the ransacked office on Hillary’s orders and the missing files tell a hell of a story of their own. You have seen Rules of Engagement right? It’s all available online.
Haven’t, actually. I just remember thinking while watching it all go down on the news, “Damn, I wake up and see the feds have tanks in front of my house? I’m finding a white flag and very, very slowly and with my hands clearly visible walking out to see what’s up.” Setting yourself up for a siege (whether or not the siege was called for) is never a great idea.
That’s why I asked – once you see what actually happened you’ll know exactly why they couldn’t go out with the white flags. That’s the most tragic part, really. Well, almost. It’s heartbreaking but everyone should know what really happened. By the time the building burned down most of the women and children had already been gassed to death, too. It’s very disturbing the story we were fed on the news and the real footage from behind the building as well as the witnesses. One squad there had been the death-dealing squad at Ruby Ridge as well.
I’d happly believe the Waco-Clinton link, since I think she’s a
vile, evil woman, whose grasping for power would shame a
Medici or a Borgia. However, when one comes up with
assertions like:-
one has to feel it’s over egging it a bit.
Source for that quote behind my name.
Makes you think, if old Ted Bundy had kept it together longer as the Republican young turk, chances are he’d be offing blonde interns and molesting the bodies while the Secret Service covered it up…
…And that, UF, would make a great movie.
“if old Ted Bundy had kept it together longer as the Republican young turk, chances are he’d be offing blonde interns and molesting the bodies while the Secret Service covered it up…”
`
I’m not so sure that’s not what actually happened. Check the link.

I mean seriously, The Illuminati are really just a branch of the masons, right? So how can hilary be one? She doesn’t have the right . . . equipment
‘Decent citizens’ do not sleep with their own young daughters to breed.
I keep saying, Annee451 is Colberting… only sane answer I can come up with…
Does the name Lot ring a bell? And don’t blame the daughters. If he was too drunk to know better, he was too drunk to ‘complete the task’.
Dunno where you’re going with that exactly (since we didn’t put anyone on trial from Waco, we really don’t know whether there was any child sexual abuse there or not; I always thought it was just a lame justification for acting like a bunch of jackbooted thugs), but I thought it was interesting that Koresh had already been picked up and questioned as a suspect in a murder case prior to the whole fiasco. He was released for lack of evidence. The sherriff who picked him up had generally complimentary things to say about Koresh; when the reporters asked him what he did differently than the ATF agents (since, you know, the sherriff had been successful in bringing him in), he said he just drove in with a deputy, a warrant, and a single car. Koresh was happy to comply.
Eh, they were republicans so, really, what was the harm?
And the abortion doctors were all Democrats so, really, what was the harm?
you have proof of that?
Exactly! If you don’t like someone, just kill them. That’s some good Old Testament justice right there.
My original post was pretty much tongue-in-cheek, directed at one person in particular. I hope you got that…
Fact Fail:
Google any economic indicator you want. All were solid pre-Bush.
“Leaves office with the economy in the decline”
`
If by “decline”, you mean “budget surplus”.
You don’t really want a reply to that, do you? Because it really, really doesn’t mean what you think it does, if you mean that the way you said it.
Please… do a Colbert… go on… it’s great when you go Colbert on a subject….
You mean an opinion so crazy that the only logical explanation is that they are invoking some sort of political Poe’s Law?
.
I swear that one day Rush Limbaugh will tell everyone it has all been a joke taken too far.
Algore first, though You can seriously understand why other people feel exactly the same way about the left, can’t you? Or can’t you? (If the answer is no, it’s no – I can’t say I really understand how any thinking person could possibly say it in reverse like you just did, but I DO know that some do; are you able to go even that far? It may be practically the only common ground opposing sides have left.)
Who’s Algore?
In truth, I don’t really want a reply, because if I’m going to read science fiction, I prefer it to be from competent writers. But if you’re bound and determined, please back up your statement by demonstrating a) how b*sh is responsible for the economic utopia we’re all enjoying now and/or b) how the global economic meltdown is really Clinton’s fault for getting a bl0wj0b.
By the way, please ignore the link; especially the part that says:
“Clinton presided over the longest period of peace-time economic expansion in American history, which included a balanced budget and a reported federal surplus.[6][7] Based on Congressional accounting rules, at the end of his presidency Clinton reported a surplus of $559 billion.”
Definitely ignore that part a lot.
Yeah I know the claims. You DO realize that that eeeevil Reagan debt that our great great great grandchildren wouldn’t be able to pay didn’t go away with Clinton, right? That the surplus was a snapshot of the operating budget and the intake? It’s called spinning it different ways. When Clinton was gone, instead of operating budgets/intake they just switched back to the debt and boom! There it was again.
The longest sustained economic boom in our country’s history was during Reagan – real standard of living increase, real income increase, upward mobility, lack of shortages, abundance. The eeeeevil debt was a Faustian bargain – the economic abundance that results from instituting a free market and slashing punitive taxes in exchange for letting congress spend spend spend! It didn’t hurt too much because OF the abundance – in part because productivity goes up exponentially leading to government taking in MORE money than before (despite lower tax percentages and less steep progression) so they can spend more; but the Democrat congress/senate kept passing more and more and more spending. Bush 1 started the decline by upping taxes and restrictions, and Clinton continued it for a couple years – until the inflated dot com bubble. An inflated prosperity is not the same thing as a period of abundance like under Reagan, because it *has* to collapse and requires more distortions and thus longer periods of adjustment.
There was a huge crash during Reagan’s tenure at the height of the boom; they didn’t *do* anything – it didn’t matter. Nothing bad happened. People who wanted to work still had work, people continued to be upwardly mobile, nothing changed – the market self-adjusted basically immediately. This can’t happen after an inflated boom, and it didn’t. {shrug} – I’m not sure why I bothered to explain all this because I know it isn’t going to matter.
“I’m not sure why I bothered to explain all this because I know it isn’t going to matter.”
`
I’m not sure why you bothered, either, especially since your entire post consisted of argument by assertion without documentation. At least I bothered to back up my claims. Your response was to call that “spin”, as though Congressional accounting is subject to the whims of whatever boogeyman you’re blaming.
`
By the way, I may look young and lovely (or so my gentleman callers assure me), but I’m actually an old (or middle-aged) fart, so your fairy tale of an “economic boom” during the St. Reagan years won’t hold water with me. I was not only alive, but an actual working adult, and I personally experienced my wages falling further and further behind cost of living those years. It’s bad enough the transfer of wealth to the corporations and richest 1% was financed out of my pocket; kindly don’t subject me (and the rest of us) to the nonsensical argument that “what actually happened didn’t happen, what you wish had happened is what REALLY happened”.
Well let’s see, Clinton wanted to get Bin Laden, but the Republicans wouldn’t authorize it because they
a. didn’t believe Bin Laden was a real threat
b. thought it was a ploy to distract from a blow job
c. are petty, self-serving a$$holes who don’t give a rat’s a$$ about anyone but theimselves
d. All of the above.
That’s going to piss a lot of people. I like you.
I do occasionally attempt to live up to my name, all the while maintaining the integrity that befits a person of my stature.
Hmm, did that sound a little too much like AF?
Add some dead buddies
I’m expecting a new sock soon…
The last one had a hole in it… Stupid cheap socks.
I do have some dead buddies actually. Well, I mean we don’t really hang out too much any more. Does that still count?
I suppose… we can rough it…
do you have some sort of citation to back up your claims that it was the republican’s fault?
i am pretty sure that the executive branch has the power to capture/condemn foreign nationals without the sanction of congress..
and baring that he could’ve just decided that the sudanese or the saudis could kill or otherwise detain him indefinitely…
Now, now… you’ve been whining that the Dems are to blame for the bail out, so I’d keep it down when someone points out that the Reps held the purse strings when it came to hunting OBL…
here’s a lesson in US government…
.
1. legislation (read: bailout) is passed by the legislative branch of the government and then either ratified or vetoed by the executive branch.
.
2. the executive branch can declare war for up to 60 days without the approval of congress as long as the country is already under attack or serious threat… (1973 war powers resolution…) congress has not declared war since ww2… but has authorized several military actions… none during the presidency of bill clinton… even though we bombed lots of countries and invaded several others…
#2 Non-state sponsored terrorism makes things a lot less clear.
Assassinations are still technically a no-no. They’re against international law, even though I’m sure they have happened. If the president is caught, well, he’d better have one of those get out of jail free cards.
assassinations against head of state are against international law… but regular people like us are fair game…
Valid point.
but you are correct… even though nixon vetoed the 73 war powers resolution there still is a lot of wiggle room in the verbiage “threatened”… especially when talking about terrorism, whether state sponsored or not…
The Democrats are as much to blame as the Republicans, because they signed off on it without insisting on the proper regulations – pissed me off to no end..
But, it was NOT done at the behest of the Dems, they just capitulated, as usual, to the Repubs.
i don’t see where the repubs had any power to make them capitulate…
I’m not blaming the Republicans for making them. I’m blaming the Democrats for their own part in it, but they didn’t act alone.
that i agree with…
i just think that capitulation involves force…
the fact that they buckled i’m right in step with you on…
Force, coercion or trickery. You tell me.
-
One of the things that Republicans do well is play the victim.
One of the things Democrats do well is rush to help and support anyone claiming to be a victim.
They don’t question whether or not there’s a real issue, they just ask, ‘how may I slit my wrists in order to make you feel better?’ They back down from a fight.
-
Democrats are the kids on the playground that the bullies seek out because they know they can win.
Republicans are the bullies on the playground.
-
When a Democrat shows some balls, I stand up and cheer.
When a Republican shows some ethics, I stand up and cheer.
i’m not sure that i completely agree with your second or
third paragrpahcs, but your point is well taken.
and i do agree with your final paragraph… except that i would change republicans to read “politicians”…
hopefully obama can bring some ethics to not only the executive branch but the legislative branch as well…
Well, hyperbole is my friend, but like any good stereotype, there’s a grain of truth in there.
Here’s my over-simplified view of the two parties:
I trust the goals of the Democrats, but not their ability to accomplish those goals.
-
I do not trust the Republicans goals, but I am confident in their ability to get it done.
-
Also to your point, I don’t know if I trust any politician after their first year in office, but I really do still believe that Democrats tend to be far more honest than their Republican counterparts. I know there are exceptions.
whereas my position is that the dems are just as dishonest as the repubs, but they hide it under a nicer smile…
@Scum: Don’t listen to ubr with too much
weight. I, for one, thought your assessment
was a delightful metaphor. I’m glad to see
you’ve kept your broad brush in good
working condition. Its use in the post above
was terrific.
*thumb up* *thumb up*
Clinton, without the republicans support, got the UN to impose sanctions against Afghanistan in order to get them to throw Bin Laden out.
WAG THE DOG!!! WAG THE DOG!!!
is what the cons were screaming in 1998 when he initiated the bombing of Afghanistan, one of the 3 or 4 attempts that we know of to get Bin Laden.
Want to see one example of how your kind reacted? [Link]
As Fester pointed out, the cons did hold the purse strings and Clinton, unlike Bush tried to do things legally.
Let me put it this way (Fox News-esque):
Did the Republicans fascination and obsession with an Oval Office blow job cost the lives of thousands of Americans?
wtf was that link? a random forum with people running around like chickens with their heads cut off?
.
and my kind? stfu. me not one of them, whoever those people were.
.
i just wanted to see some REAL proof that the repubs actually stopped clinton from bombing anyone or anything… considering that he bombed Yugoslavia, Sudan, Iraq, Somalia and Afghanistan…
.
sorry if i hadn’t seen the facts of what you were referring to before and was actually trying to learn something new…
.
instead i get the same old rigmarole…
Like you give proof? I see
nothing to see here, move along people, we’ll all be dead before ubr give a link…
you need me to give you a link for the countries the US bombed under clinton? i figured that would be common knowledge…
Dissemblement… prove that he could launch a capture mission without funding.
Or does bombing=capture these days?
You really are an arse…
but feel free not to give what you asked for…
who said we needed to capture him? the sudanese could’ve taken him in custody and *ahem* dealt with him for free… there’s your link… happy now?
Your link clearly states that we had nothing
on him in 1996. Do you think Clinton had
a crystal ball, or the right to perform a “we
know you’re up to something” execution via
Sudan, assuming any offer of such was ever
made?
rho, clinton’s own quote shows his thoughts at the time…
“At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America”
.
the point fester made was that clinton could not have done anything due to the repubs holding him up in congress using funding or etc… that was clearly not the case…
whether or not clinton should have done something… it’s hard to argue because hindsight is 20/20… but i know we all wish that he had done something. the last 8 years could have gone so much differently…
Don’t get caught up in wishful thinking or you
will have to start despising a lot of people and
events. Unc had a quote about forgiveness
being the abandonment of hope for a better
past. (good quote; bad memory)
‘
Thank you for explaining the point of your
link. You and Unc have been twirling around
in the threads to the point where someone
would need a comb, scissors and conditioner
to get it all smooth!
I spotted your Shift key can work… so, it’s bad typing. Cool
sorry, wasn’t the shift key… that was the caps lock key… but thanks for looking…
The shift key does the same thing. It’s good for capitalising sentence and proper names, when you type.
really? i never knew that until you explained it to me…
(_0_)<— feel free to kiss it!
hey, i don’t think i heard that one before either…
Just done it… (_0_)
Sorry about the link and all of it without further explanation. I was running out and posted that very quickly.
-
I think the main reason I posted the link is because I was remembering how I first heard about the bombing. A co-worker came running through my lab, screaming at the top of his lungs “OMG, we’re at war, we’re at war!!!” I don’t remember this guys politics, but if I had to guess I’d say he was a Dem. at the time. This page of histerical right-wingers (you’re not a right-winger? Really UBR? Am I mistaking you for someone else? If so I’m sorry about that. I’ll have to go figure out who I was thinking of.) is also pretty much how the republicans in power sounded. They were all screaming that Clinton was trying to distract from the BJ and everything else he was doing was unjustified.
I’ll have to try to remember where I first read the details about the Republicans blocking his efforts and get the details. I know there were several unsuccessful attempts, but I also know that he tried and failed to get approval for other attempts. It’s been a long time, but I should be able to find the info again. I should have known not to post anything without the links, but like I said I was rushing out the door.
no worries on misrepresenting me as a right-winger… i’m definitely not what you would consider a conservative… even though fester thinks i’m a neocon… but whatever… my politics lean slightly to the right in economy and slightly to the left in the social spectrum…
what really pushes my buttons is when people blame those who were not responsible and heap rewards on those who were responsible… clinton was the president and did have a chance to get osama. he even stated that he had the chance in 2002… and i have no doubt that the repubs at the time were saying things like “wag the dog” that seems like a
prudent political hack job on their part… what i don’t remember
was anyone in congress or in the senate doing anything to stop
any of the bombings or etc… the fact that the repubs kept going on about the bj and the lying for so long (not to mention the impeachment) was reprehensible considering that we pay them to be political leaders, not leaders of a witch hunt… and also considering the attack
on the USS Cole and the 9/11 attacks which could have been prevented…
.
to summarize my point, it’s not that the repubs were innocent, but rather that clinton was guilty as well…
.
ask anyone that really knows me and you will find that i have an inherent distrust for anyone in government… i’ve made this point earlier, but i feel that it is important to repeat it…
.
as long as we have a system that rewards deceit instead of honesty we will be doomed to have leaders who are more proficient in lying than in getting the job done.
” am pretty sure that the executive branch has the power to capture/condemn foreign nationals without the sanction of congress..”
I’m pretty sure that’s called “kidnapping” no matter who does it. The president has no right to try and convict a person in absentia, any more than the Saudi king has a right to have his agents drag you out of bed and take your head off.
“Failed to get Osama Bin Laden when he was all but handed to him on a plate.
`
Yeah, like when he ignored the memo saying “Bin Laden determined to strike within US”… Oh, wait… that was bush.
`
” Leaves office with the economy in the decline.”
`
Yeah, like when he took us from a record surplus at the beginning of his presidency to a record deficit at the end… Oh, wait… that was bush.
`
Now is the butt of jokes from both dems and pubs.”
`
At this point, you may want to refer to the link.
Cute how people still go on and on about how horrible Clinton was, but somehow Bush bankrupting 4 booming businesses that he was *given* and his wife killing people while she was drunk driving (and not having anything done but a little slap on the wrist to top it all off) make them the most perfect people ever to run the country.
It would be nice to leave the past in the past and focus on the real problems and how to fix them instead of focusing on who did what and how it may have effected the next president.
“his wife killing people while she was drunk driving (and not having anything done but a little slap on the wrist to top it all off)”
.
so we should elect ted kennedy to public office?
I’m pretty sure he’s already a Senator.
Has been for over 25 years… not sure of the actual dates… he’s never been a clear threat for me to take much notice of.
Just don’t accept a ride a night with him and you’re good.
“It would be nice to leave the past in the past and focus on the real problems and how to fix them instead of focusing on who did what and how it may have effected the next president.”
`
I agree in theory. The catch is that problems that happened in the past have aftereffects that persist into the present/future, which sooner or later have to be dealt with.
“You cons do realize that the outgoing administration was the worst in American history, right?”
LMAO!
“And that we’ll be dancing on their political graves for many years to come?”
Careful with the “many.” A liberal win was fairly inevitable; it most definitely remains to be seen how long you get. Carter got his 4 years; Clinton only got 2 before the Freshman legislature. Best wait and see. At least you admit you’re piss-poor winners, though. Poor losers in 2000 and 2004, poor winners in 2009.
This is great… the subtle twist of injured tone at losing… priceless…
Bravo!
Recalling how they whined about being persecuted when they ran the White House and all three branches of the government, I’m not at all surprised.
It’s performance art… It’s out-Colberting Colbert…. come on you have to see the joke…
Umm…. since when are Democrats considered to be Liberals? Lumping Liberals with Democrats is a bit much, and if that’s the case, who is getting lumped in with the Republicans? Can’t have one side with too many now
Very well said, thank you.
No n8, that just shows your ignorance Bush did not have the worst administration in American History, it just seems that way because you are the one LIVING it. Its an experience effect. There were quite a few other that were far worse, putting biases aside.
uh, id say the Buchanan administration was the worst really…and he was probably the worst president…ever…
and what albatross, i didnt know the republican party had to get rid of a bird
Actually, I made one about Biden too. It didn’t make the front page, but it’s DOUBLE funny.
Srsly, you cons have NO sense of humor.
Just as soon as you guys stop blaming Carter for our real estate meltdown, and Clinton for, well, EVERYTHING, we’ll start forgetting that Bush is the second Republican president in less than a century to send our economy into the toilet.
not so funny
Obviously Joe Biden has been made aware of this.
Funny, I was thinking the same thing.
Biden definitely got the memo.
Ah. Well…that explains Joe Biden, then.
Kthnxbai!
I noticed in the voting a couple days ago that there were two identical lols, this one and one with Biden…
And *this* won? Another one? I wonder when a funny one’s gonna show up again.
you already have… this sub-Andy Kaufman posing is great… it’s more subtle than Colbert…
I thought it worked either way. Cheney’s a little scarier where Biden’s more goofy…although certainly more topical.
Crazy? or Evil?
The former was evil, the present isn’t so much crazy as….goofy.
They’re both evil.
Goofy is evil. I mean, a talking dog? It wouldn’t be so weird if Pluto could also talk…
Mickey’s a mouse. Donald’s a duck. Goofy’s a dog. What the heck is Pluto?
And why does Donald wear a shirt, but no pants?
Donald Rumsfeld? Because he’s at the pant-a-gone.
Dunno whether to laugh, groan, or throw things at you for that one.
Personally, I was expecting the bad pun to come in the form of whether Pluto was (or was not) a planet.
You guys are full of surprises.
Pluto I think was a non-talking dog? And pittypat deserves a groan AND a ’skoal’ for that pun.
*goes to get something toast-worthy*
Skoal!
muy terrible.
Didn’t we just have one of him being hauled off to the big dirt smotel last week?
Enough of Cheney, he’s gone … finally.
Not so fast. He will still hold that he has executive privilege after-the-fact. This
time, he will have to pay for his own attorneys, but he can afford a dream
team. This won’t be over for a loooong time yet.
Why would he need attorneys? For a “loooong” time? Your guy is in. Do you really want to spend the time trying to nail jello to the wall? Is that really how the left spends their hope and change? Seems a hell of a waste of morale.
OK, I think I get the joke… This is performance art, isn’t it?
postmodern stuff gets annoying real quick. Because *this* is where I go for serious debate
you read her stuff, then see if it’s not Cobert… better than Colbert in fact…
Nah, Colbert is funny.
We’re obligated under the Geneva Conventions to prosecute war criminals.
And even if we weren’t, officials of the International Criminal Court have made it VERY clear that they have all the evidence they need to put Cheney away if they can get their hands on him. He’d better not plan on travel to any foreign country for the next, oh…ever.
And he’s…in an underground bunker wearing a burqa right now? For mainstream Americans (just mainstream non-politicaljunkies, mind you), these kinds of vengeance fantasies and visions of tribunals and flames sound more than weird. Though they might get excited if you tell them enough stories about it and make it sound scary. I just wonder when all this melodramatic posturing (and worse, the melodramatics that aren’t posturing) is going to die down with certain people (like that loon who went on stage and tried to handcuff Karl Rove LOL – she really thought it might work and people would be supporting her as opposed to carefully escorting her to a psych ward) into something less harmful or less obsessive or whatever. It’s disconcerting when you realize that a few people together in one place are serious and you have to start looking for exits without alerting them.
So, you’d prefer that the Office of The President and the President’s staff are immune from prosecution? Do you agree with Nixon that ‘when the President does it, that means it’s not illegal’?
-
If there are no investigations and probably subsequent prosecutions, and not just token ones, we will in effect be bringing to this country a monarchy. We will be living up to Richard Nixon’s words, that anything the President does is legal.
-
Be careful how you answer that when you realize which party is currently in office. If there are no prosecutions of the illegal activities of the previous administration, you’re providing a get out of jail free card to this admin too.
Cheney has admitted on national television to actions we hanged people for at the end of WWII. Give him carte blanche and you implicitly give that same free pass to the current administration you despise so much; is that what you really want? Or do you want to live under and be protected by the rule of law?
It’s working. I’m very right wing, and I don’t want anything to happen to Obama unless it also happens to Biden, Pelosi, and however many turtles down it goes.
Wishes for mass homicide: A favorite pastime of the far right.
Good one! Definately true too…dear God, if McCain would have won he would have been the safest person on the planet- in fear of Palin being the President.
Hehe. I can just imagine people (all over the world!) hiring the opposite of assassins – secretive doctors that would be stealthily keeping an eye on him, ready to jump into healbot mode whenever he cleared his throat. ;p
No shit, he’d have a team of doctors, nutritionists & health advisors surrounding him like Obama does secret service. lol
In a parallel universe, President McCain clutches his chest and cries, “I think I’m having a heart attack!”. The Secret Service snaps into action and immediately shoots Palin.
I feel bad, but I LOL’d.
I lol’d and don’t feel bad about it at all!
Ditto.
I feel really bad about having typed the words “President McCain”.
Say five DWNs and ten Uncle Festers for pennance.
You know, dammit, for most people, having had to type the words “President McCain” would have been punishment enough, but guilt-tripping an ex-Catholic is like shooting fish in a barrel.
*mumbles*
“Our Fester, who aren’t in Heaven,
Malice be thy name…”
Thy wisecracks come,
Thy bile be flung,
Unearthed, and anywhere but Devon.
Give us today our daily thread,
And debunk our fallacies,
As we deface trolls who caps-shout against us.
And lead us not into salvation, but deliver us some pizza…
For thine is the bandwidth, and the Dour…
and the Tory, forever and ever, AllSin.
Bloody hell… you pretty much identified the
closest thing to ‘political’ affiliation I ever had.
I’m a 19th C Tory.
Really? That makes you the 4th tory I know….
You’ve told us that, Unc.
THIS.
IS.
SPARTA!
lol. nice tessie…
serious LOL Tessie!
There’s definitely a “Weekend at Bernie’s” type of thing about that, isn’t there? I could just see people propping him up behind the desk in the Oval Office. Heh.
Yeah you’re right the vice-president is supposed to be so crazy as to keep people from killing the President, just look at Joe “smartest man in the room” Biden Jr.
Congratulations! You got the joke!
He had to read the other comments first.
Then have them explained…
…by having pictures drawn for him…
in crayon.
Crayons taste like purple!
Just don’t eat the “Cheap” off-brand Crayons…they taste like Yellow…
@diss: That so cracked me up!
You look like my mommy after she drinks her box of wine.
it smells like the art teacher’s room in here…
Now I’m picturing the Simpsons episode where Sideshow Bob plots to murder Selma. Bart explains it to Homer, then draws it on a flip chart, then acts it out with hand puppets… “Then I explained it to Mom, and a minute later we were on our way”.
Fister, you really have some deep-seated need to follow me around like a dog with a desperate hardon who smells something it likes? I mean, it’s flattering and all, but it makes you look pretty silly.
*ducks under flame shield to avoid the Festering which Anniee is going to recieve*
Oh, shut up. Like some words on a screen are going to give me a rash. Or his crabs. Zomg he’s gonna follow me around and fling poo at me…oh, wait.
Brilliance! Sheer brilliance!
Why would I bother to mock when you’re just acing the Right Wing Parody…
To think I considered that the only way one could be that disingenuous was to be 15 or neotenous to the point of retardation, when it’s comedy gold… no… Comedy Platinum!
Oh, you tolerant Liberals! The way you do so love others!
and Ann Coulter is such a “love monger”…
She was last night!
As was UncleFesterisaTroll and his mother…
That woman offers services I’d not have asked of a
hardened professional…
I’m surprised PETA didn’t hold a protest over her… Um services.
Since she had the operation, she can peel a hard boiled egg with ther pelvic floor manipulations… it was worth a dose of the pox just for that…
“She was last night!”
`
…with a penis.
`
(OK, folks, I know that’s been done, but in this instance, it was too on-target to omit)
“Oh, shut up.”
`
Oh, shut up? Well, I guess we’ve all been put in our respective places then. Zing!
Last night on one thread, I suggested she GTFO, and she was all “OMG OPPRESSION OF A WOMAN DUN TELL ME TO SHUT UP!”
But she can tell somebody to do so and expect us to shut our yaps.
Mmm-hmm
Conveniently ignoring what I was replying TO. What assholes.
wow. can all of you either get along nicely or stfu? your comments make it longer for the rest of us to load the page and have actual political discussion instead of puerile name calling…
Mama always said, Don’t get in a battle of wits with an unarmed person…
ACK.
Not aimed at you, ubr…
nesting fail…
.
dun worry, it happens…
That’s why I haven’t been answering Fister. And why it’s time to ignore your trolling.
“And why it’s time to ignore your trolling.”
`
Yes, ignore whoever it was you were addressing this to. In fact, ignore all of us. That would teach us a lesson, a very harsh lesson indeed.
You know, I don’t recall seeing any positive, enlightening non-BS posts from you. Makes me wonder why people aren’t ignoring YOUR trolling…
And now, I’m going to return to ignoring your trolling. :exasperate:
*exasperated. damn invisible typing…
Either:
1. Learn to argue/debate/disagree creatively and maybe with a modicum of intelligence,
2. Develop a thicker skin, put on your big girl panties, and take it,
or
3. Go elsewhere.
I **do**. Fister wasn’t arguing/debating/disagreeing; he was following my every single post (none of which were to him) and flinging poo. I had every right to dish it back to him. His fangirl decided to come along and cheer him on, and so did the two of you. How stupid is that? And to cheer him on by saying *I* was behaving badly? Yeah, that is really really stupid. Do *you* ever judge a situation sensibly, or say anything intelligent? How about just butting out of things that are none of your business? Give it a try sometime.
Either ignore him or treat him civil. There’s no rule saying you have to react to him like you are.
And you’re spamming my LOLs. I made it my business.
“What assholes.”
`
And yet, somehow, here you are among us once again, despite having better things to do with your finite lifespan.
Keep it up… it’s Colbert, just better… DON’T BLINK… it stops being funny if there’s any evidence you understand Poe’s Law…
God, you couldn’t pay for this…
I’d say it’s the freep guy above who’s Poe. Got nothing better to fling today? Just more turds?
Push hard, then we can flush, eh?
The faux anger at it being suggested you’re not the real deal… perfection…
When faced with friend anger or foe anger,
I choose faux anger every time.
“Five foot nine,
Likes to whine,
Ain’t been seen
in quite some time,
Has anyboby seen Dan Quayle?”
(John Valby, correct title unknown)
Also described in the song as “the President’s walking bullet-proof vest”
So why did we never see Bush and Cheney together?
Quayle – veep of Bush-the-father. Come to think of it, there is a resemblance between Quayle and Bush-the-son….
I know who Capt. Potatoe (sic) was… and as stumbling, demented child-
Kings go, I can see the resemblance. you’d just think they’d troll Dick
more often to remind the would be Booths what a bad idea that would be…
“Come to think of it, there is a resemblance between Quayle and Bush-the-son….”
`
The result of an unholy union between Bush 41 and potatoe man?
Bush was afraid of being shot with a shotgun, obviously
Reply was ment for UncleFester
Ya know, I was going to complain that it should’ve been a pic of Joe Biden since Cheney isn’t there anymore and “just get over the old administration, people,” when Mr. McBucket made that phenominal lolcrack about Clinton: “Bill Clinton was a suck President too. ZING!” I had to laugh, so I get it. Have fun, peeps.
If this is true, why was Bush pres and not VP?
And you don’t hink he really was VP? Bush was Uncle Dick’s sock puppet for 8 years.
I kinda liked the part where he sat on Cheney’s lap and appeared to “talk” while Cheney drank a glass of water.
Their version of ‘Sonny Boy’ was the talk of the Convention…
because cheney was scarier
Waco doesn’t exactly talk about it. …Ever.
Ever ever. I’m from central texas, and have no idea where the building is.
Yeah, my sister went to Baylor. I’d been to Waco a few times and I wasn’t aware of what had happened until later….does the building even still exist?
The complex wasn’t in Waco, but Waco was the closest place nearby. I lived
in Waco before the incident. The buildings used were out in the boonies.
IIRC, they were formerly used as storage for military supplies, as Waco is
a good distribution location, being about halfway between Dallas and Austin.
The main church building has been rebuilt and is still there. The three story (in some places) bunker that Koresh built around, on top of, and under the original chapel building isn’t there anymore. The school bus is still there, buried underground. There is a memorial there as well, with a stone for every person who died in the fire (inscribed with the names), including two or three expelled fetuses. There is a fruit tree planted for every single person right in front of the pond, too. It’s pretty far off out of the way, and you have to know how to get out there. It’s not exactly a tourist attraction.
It’s surprising what people want to see…
Ha! This explains, Cheney, Biden, Palin, *and* Quayle! And Agnew. Maybe Nixon (during the Ike years) & Rockefeller too.
In fact, this makes a hella lot of sense…..
it doesn’t work so well with h.w. bush during the reagan years… but it does with al gore…
During the Clinton admin, Gore was seen as little more than an automaton. He was characterized as wooden, completely lacking any sort of personality. Of course, this might have been due to his proximity to Bill Clinton, who (love him or hate him) possessed energy and charisma in spades.
Point being, nobody would have been dissuaded from offing Big Dog for fear of a Gore presidency. Gore was a nonentity.
Like Ford to Nixon.
Can’t let it go, Day 9.
Let it go? Let it go??
JFC DRH, you people are f’ing amazing. You still talk about a f’ing blow job from how many years ago now, like it was the worst thing ever to happen to this country and you think that we’re supposed to forgive and forget the treasonous behavior of the crooks and liars that have held office for the last 8 years after a week?
You are beyond stupid and beyond delusional. If a non-republican had been responsible for 1/20th of the crap that Bush and his cronies were responsible for, you’d have already demanded they be impeached and shot. Not necessarily in that order.
When you have something of substance to add, please feel free, but this crap doesn’t fly.
A BJ? You’re still telling that lie? Clinton was a sexual predator/womanizer who’d had credible rape accusations, many many more allegations of sexual harassment on the job, and a consensual liaison with an intern. One from his gov. days had to go into hiding for many years due to threats against her family. Hillary’s Bimbo Eruption Squad couldn’t do *everything* you know. He lied in one of the court cases (perjury) and that exposed the BJ; Willey’s tires were slashed and her children were threatened and “depends on what IS is” – but yeah, it’s that one ol’ blowjob and people can’t get over it! There are more important things, you know! Yeah, like who were the WH thugs making the threats and slashing tires, and why was the president sexually harassing so many women at work, and what about Juanita Broaddrick. But hey, let’s just impeach him for no good reason and make the Democrats really really mad. Get all the papers in on it, so they can be mad too. Make sure we have Marcy Carsey in here to stage and block the vacation the First Family’s taking – we want a shot of Hillary pushing his hand away from hers, from behind as they get on the plane. I know you’re dizzy, but this is our job. Get another aspirin factory somewhere overseas for us to bomb too ok?
What maroons.
Now let’s let all of it go – you can keep pretending it was just a BJ and we can stop proving the last two elections were entirely legal and that the 2000 fiasco should never have happened in the first place.
Move on…..move on……
Yet more Colbert… but unlike the man himself, she’s not getting old on it…
Keep it up… I think I short changed on comedy platinum even…
Is there no conspiracy theory too insane for you people to believe? Or is the only requirement for ‘truth’ that it smear a non-republican?
Yep, I’m gonna go with the poster’s caption. That’s the only reason that he wasn’t shot. Imagine Cheney as President in these past years. *shudders*
Spelling fail: assassinate.
What a shame. I really enjoyed this site before it turned hateful.
