That was what I thought first.
The name of the series escapes me! I’ve seen it once before, it’s from a live action japanese show but I just can’t remember what it’s called.
They’re Keberos Panzer cops, from the Keberos saga. There was a Manga and three movies if I remember correctly. I only saw the three movies, “The Red Spectacles”, “Stray Dog” and the animated feature “Jin Roh: the Wolf Brigade”, one of my all time favorite animes.
There we go, “Jin Roh” that’s the one I remember.
Well, We’ve got a ‘Totallylookslike.com’ now.

There are one StG 44 (left), two MG 34 (front middle, back right) and one MG 42 (front left)
it doesn’t matter. theyre all 1940’s vintage guns…
And there is absolutly no connection between StG 44 and the G3, in no way. Only the old MG 42 is identicall with the post-war MG 3

They are suppose to be some sort of elite military force in an alternate future.

They are not Helghast, Darth Vader fans or Nazis they are cosplaying members of the “Kerberos Panzer Cop Anti-Vicious Crime Division” from the Kerberos saga. The weapons they should be using MG34s and Mauser C96s or Mauser MG42s and Walther PPK/Ss. Before anyone say the guy on the top right has an ak-47 it’s a Haenel StG44. Now remember kids Wikipedia can make anyone look like they know what they are talking about.

Dude, it was only 5.2 lines or so. I can’t speak for all of us, but in general…we’ll read 5.2 lines.
We may respond with something like “Hey, this LOL is like putting out bait to lure manga geeks!” due to the plethora of responses saying who and what these guys are…but we’ll usually read it.
Coincidentally, the MG34 was used unmodifed (without a drum magazine) in “Star Wars” by the Empire (in brief scenes – not anywhere near as often as the British Sterling), and the StG44 was used by the Rebel Troops on Hoth (though heavily modified).
The “Darth Vader Fan Boys” caption really needs a nice big red fail stamp on it.

Modern riot armour is pretty heavy and uncomfortable. That’s supposed to be 1950s tech. So, they’d hardly be able to move… and I won’t even think about the sweating and chafing…

who knows, i certainly have no idea, my best guess was it’s some sort of tech that’s been developed and used as a reference for some manga artists.

They’re kinda Japanese paramilitary in the “Jin Roh” movie. Tells the story of one of these soldiers during violent mobs in an alternative 1950s where the Axis would have won WW2…
