Ouch. Pathos right up there on the level of a local case I’m familiar with where a Polish WWII vet in his 80s sued the local chapter of Polish war veterans for defamation – they had publicly called him a traitor or summat because he had attended a dinner at which an official from the Polish Communist government was an honored guest.

That’s the kind of town New Britain is.

Closer, but still wrong. Fortunately, because I think that would actually kill my soul (I see people that do that every day…and they all look miserable). Long story short I’m defending a couple of guys in court against allegations made by the plaintiff in this case who is, well, delusional. I’ve met him, he’s a sweet guy and I actually like him, but he does not live in the same reality as the rest of us. I’m reviewing medical records I requested from him to try to pinpoint when his symptoms started so I can show that his version of the event is filtered through his paranoia. It’s actually a case that makes me very sad.

Considering that medical records count towards a lot of things insurance based, I place more value on your work than his. His is an endeavor of creation for a goal, which is honorable. Your goal makes it easier for somebody to die on a bed with insurance picking it up instead of distraught family.

I have approximately 600 pages of medical records I just received and printed this morning that I am now trying to put into some coherent order. At some point, I’ll need to read them, too. By my estimate, my post count today is about 60% above what would be practical and appropriate.
