  1. BattleCry says:

Chris Dodd should be in jail. Period

    • slanagat says:

      For what exactly?

      • rhorho says:

In BattleCry’s rush to post, he evidently left his facts at home…

        • froofrou says:

Read a little further down. Battle Cry is correct about Chris Dodd being responsible for most of the damage.

          • rhorho says:

Nope. The *articles* do not make the jump from casting shadows on Dodd’s mortgage negotiations and campaign contributers to Dodd being responsible for >50% of the national crisis. *You* do, and I’m jealous: You’re on some goood meds!

            • slanagat says:

Well, look. Dodd is a nationally recognized figure. If he had printed in big bold red letters DO NOT APPLY ANY SPECIAL CONSIDERATION on the loan applications, do you think that would have helped?

And let’s not forget that he was a prominent, wealthy lawyer before going into politics, from a widely respected family, that he makes a very nice income, and that he has one of the safest jobs anywhere in this economy – in short, he’s objectively a fabulously good credit risk.

The only way he could avoid looking like someone was cutting him a sweetheart deal would be not to refinance at all. Are you seriously arguing that position?

  2. lowly grunt says:

    LOL!
Oh, great, now that’s stuck in my head.

    battlecry, why say you?

Read those and tell me that Dodd is not a crook. He and Paulson should both be jailed. All they are doing is bailing out their friends on Wall Street and in the Federal Reserve.

      • froofrou says:

Chris Dodd is so far up Obama’s, Hillary’s, and other top Dems asses that he can’t see the light of day unless they open their mouths. He was in charge of the piggy bank from which they all drew what they wanted. He will never be held accountable until the day comes that the little ‘D’ behind his name turns into an ‘R’. Then he will be frog marched out of the Capital building and directly to a jail cell. Do no pass Go, do not collect $200.
        -
(Let me rephrase my previous statement. Either Dodd is up their asses, or they are all up his. More than likely they are up his because he has the keys to the bank vault)

        • rhorho says:

Given the pending charges against the Illinois governor, your “only Republicans get held accountable” argument is as relevant as burnt toast.

          • BattleCry says:

And thus, we continue to lose the war against our governement.

It isn’t R’s and D’d that’s the problem. It’s the P’s. Teh Politicians. They are all crooked, dirty, and do NOT answer to the people of this country.

This governement was designed to work at the will of the people.

Today, the people and the governement work at the will of the corporations.

Soon, the people and the corporations will work for at the will of the government

            • rhorho says:

My criticism was made to counter froo’s “until the day comes that the little ‘D’ behind his name turns into an ‘R’.”
              .
You may say “It’s the P’s,” but you singled Dodd out, and linked articles that cast doubt on legal contributions made to his campaign. The paltry sum his campaign collected is laughable compared to the petroleum company contributions to GOP candidates. Where did you link those articles? If, as you claim, you’re trying to make a balanced argument, you got it less than half right.

      • eddiepscetti says:

Sounds like a crook to me. Very interesting reading, especially the one about campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Hell, he even outstripped Obama!
        -
@froo: They are up his. As you said, he holds the keys..

      • BattleCry says:

As the head of the Senate Banking Commitee he was “caught completely unaware” by the current financial crisis.

Perhaps jail is too light for him. Perhaps we should freeze his assests, apply the proceeds from the sales of his houses and goods, apply it towards the national debt, revoke his citizenship, and then drop him off in Darfur.

      • mothergoose says:

Agreed. Sounds like a crook…which might be why he got into politics. Does it amaze anyone else that if I performed that way at my job, I’d be summarily fired? (Maybe even charged) How is it we allow these guys to hold these positions? Where’s the accountability? *rhetorical*

        • rhorho says:

“Sounds like a crook…which might be why he got into politics.”
          .
Of course. It couldn’t have a *thing* to do with growing up in the household of Thomas Dodd…
          (link)

          • BattleCry says:

Just read wikipedia on the elder Dodd…talk about doing things right in the first part of your life and then being a douche for the second. I now hate Chriss Dodd MORE than I did before.

            • rhorho says:

!!!ROFL!!! As I read your post, the investment ad with the talking bably was on TV. As I finished reading your words, the baby said, “I underestimated the creepiness.”

            • rhorho says:

I think it’s best to leave you to your delusions. I could waste of time typing, but I like to have material with which to work. Simply calling someone a “douche” won’t get you far in life. Wisdom comes with age, though. Hopefully you’re young now.
              .
I’ve linked the Wiki on Thomas J. Dodd. Other people can judge your claims about the contents therein.

            • slanagat says:

              Let me get this straight.

              You’re actually:

              1) Buying the bullsh8 propaganda that the man who PROSECUTED the war crimes of Nazi Germany – and refused to accept honors from the Polish government because the Communists weren’t any better – was using Nazi documents as a reference in proposing legislation?

              2) Arguing that the aforementioned bullsh8 propaganda outweighs a successful law enforcement career that included his insistence that the Gestapo – the Gestapo for crissakes! – get more of a fair trial than the Bush regime wants to give random Arabs that were in the wrong place at the wrong time?

              3) Arguing that your perception of the bullsh8 propaganda outweighing, etc., is somehow his son’s fault and you can therefore convict him by association?

What a very interesting world you live in. What color is the sky there?

  3. LEILA says:

…we are so screwed! Why don’t they just claim bankruptcy? I read the news about the 3 big wigs flying in their private jets to beg us for a bailout. I don’t get it. :(

    • m00finsan says:

Simple. No one will buy a car from a company that has filed for bankruptcy.

      • Steve says:

Apparently, nobody is buying cars from them anyway.

Maybe I’m un-american, or whatever, but I bought a Subaru. (my first ever non-GM vehicle) I live in Wisconsin, the winters suck, and the All-Wheel-Drive is amazing. GM doesn’t even sell a 4 door economoy/sports car with All-Wheel-Drive. Ford Fusion is the ONLY american made option, and it’s hardly sporty, and it’s $4,500 more than the Impreza, with fewer options.

If they made a Pontiac or Chevy with AWD that gets 30mpg, I would have purchased american made.

Before you deport me to Darfur, mine was built in the 0 land fill plant in Indiana. (Hopefully by legal US citizens)

  4. eddiepscetti says:

I can think of other things I’d rather apply to their foreheads.

  5. Rafiq of the many says:

But, but, its the other end that hurts. . .. . .

  6. rightconnections says:

Hey…Where’s OUR bailout? It is our money that they are playing with, right?

  7. BattleCry says:

Notice how NO ONE comments on this pic? I understand it isn’t very funny, but I think it’s mainly because people hate talking about the economy

  8. PiMan says:

HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead HeadOn, apply directly to the forehead

  9. Jacob peterson says:

    FACEPALM!

  10. Sisyphus says:

Chris Dodd should be in jail.
