Clever way of getting the point of “FIRST!” across without actually saying it, though.
Hmm.. I always sort of viewed such lols as slightly subtle fails, yes there is no caption required to understand the message of the image, however they go ahead and tell you that …. in a caption.

it’s not, the ” ’shopper” is a lowly form of troll with even less intelligence and creativity than the average troll. they lack almost all forms of communication besides the high pitch, repetative cry of ” ’shopped, ’shopped ” from which they derive they’re name.
This troll species are found in large quantities around interesting pictures particularly those with significant blurring or contrasting parts within the pictures.

I always think of these sort of lols as a subtle fail… yes in fact. There is no need for a caption to capture the intent of the image, and yet they feel the need to tell you just that….. with a caption. So, fail….?
It’s the PK version of “Needless to say…” at which point the sayer goes on to say it at great and obnoxious length.

Maybe I’m a bit slow on the uptake this morning, or maybe my eyes are getting middle-aged along with the rest of me, but I could NOT figure out where Homer was; my best guess was a train station. The floor of the stock exchange makes a lot more sense, though; at least in the context of the joke.

this is a few days late, from another thread, and way off topic but…..
you asked how/why i knew i hate D&D w/o ever having actually played? i have friends who play it. they invited me to a game not to long ago. i observed, and didn’t get the “fun” factor, and was incredibly annoyed with the whole concept and experience. i’m a nerd, but like just a partial nerd. and i find the nerd qualities of D&D playe3rs annoying at times. now i’ve disliked D&D since i was younger, it seems like the most boring game next to chess, and i can barely stand Risk for longer than half an hour. i don’t like fantasy all that much anyways, like for video games, i can’t stand final fantasy, i’ve played 3 of them, and i got bored. WoW i have a deep and abiding hatred for, partially based on it being a waste of my time, and partially based on my college roomate who would play it at full volume at 3 or 4 am about 3-4 days a week. I prefer my video games to be fast paced, gun blazing, puzzle solving, car driving action games. I also prefer my video games to be rare, never liked them a whole heck of a lot. the only game i own is the sonic collection for PS2 and Myst for playstation ( i know – Myst is totally NOT actiony, but fun puzzles and pretty music and i’ve had it since i was a kid, back when i loved mysteries).
anyways, the game of D&D i observed got to be to much, so me and my friend Ruthie, who also hates it, decided to go buy alchohol. the D&D’ers wanted some, but they weren’;t allowed to unless they a)let us play music, or b) let us put on a movie, or c) quit playing, none of which they’d allow, so we hogged, got drunk, and started narrating the game like a pair of drunk/mean/sarcastic john maddens.
Classy, that. Those damn nerds, nowhere NEAR as cool as the people on the forums of caption sites.
lol, you noticed that NO WHERE in my post did i mention me=coolness. and i’m only on here when i’m at work because its one of the few sites that aren’t blocked.
My only major problem with the game is the association with my ex and the “no girls allowed at game” rule that he seemed to be the only one who wanted to enforce it. I didn’t care if I played, I didn’t even want to play, I simply didn’t want to hang out at home by myself. I am addicted to WoW, but I hate it because it’s a huge time sink and there are too many douchebag kids that play (I also detest the addiction itself). On a completely different topic, I hate the text box on this site. Does it cut off like this in IE? I only use firefox.

Ah, I love The Simpsons. One of the few good comedies around (unless you have cable or satellite TV).
I used to love the simpsons. At this point I feel like there are so many episodes that I’ll never see them all and there are only a percentage that are even funny. I’ve had similar discussions with a lot of other people and come to the conclusion that it’s an opinion that a lot of people share. They just need to give it up.
