Oh, Lord, November 4th cannot come soon enough.

    • Evil Pundit says:

The attacks on candidates’ families won’t stop then. It’s a Democrat thing, they just can’t help it.

      • metonymy says:

Looks like she’s giving a speech in front of a large crowd. If you don’t want to be in the spotlight, then don’t step into the spotlight to try and get your hubby elected. She is more than fair game.

On the other hand, leave the kids out of it. Until they are old enough to avoid being used as election props they deserve a pass.

      • brighidg says:

Do I even need to look through your comment history to find you saying shit about Michelle Obama? Doubt it.

You’re just another whiny, hypocritical Repub who can dish it but can’t take it.

      • 1/10.

Republicans gave us the Michelle Obama “terrorist fist jab” and “baby mama.”

        • froofrou says:

Liberals gave us ‘baby daddy’ and ‘the Messiah’, ‘Barack the Magic Negro’, and ‘Billary’. What’s your point?

          • PiMan says:

That it isn’t just a democrat thing.

            • froofrou says:

Never said it was. But Mr. Boomshadow was generalizing, so I thought I’d let him know it’s not specific to one party :-)
              -
And I believe I said liberal, not Democrat. The two aren’t always the same!

              • froofrou says:

Click the name for an article that is completely unrelated to this thread, but something I found interesting. You guys will have to tell me if you consider the source to be right wing or not. I’m too far right wing myself to be objective :-)

                • minerva146 says:

“Vietor went on to call McCain’s attack on Biden “desperate.”

“Maybe the McCain campaign keeps lying about Obama’s tax plan because with seven days left in this election, voters are rejecting McCain’s plan to give billions more in tax giveaways to big corporations and the wealthiest Americans,” he said. ”

Maybe not too bad… Anyway, cashing on on other’s gaffe’s is not a good campaign strategy, as McCain has found. Maybe peole would be more willing to listen to him if he actually presented some of his own policy or even hopes for his presidency. The last couple of months we have seen NOTHING but attacks. Some people like Obama simply because they like that he has, at least fo the most part, been sticking to the issues instead of personal attacks and dubious guilt by association fallacies.

                  • froofrou says:

The fact is that Obama’s tax plan has gone from rasing taxes on (back a while ago) $42,000 or more, to $250,000 or more, to $200,000 or more, to $120,000 or more, to $150,000 or more, back to $200,000 or more…..it’s a little disheartening that he can’t even get his own stuff straight.

                    • minerva146 says:

For now, I would just go by what he has put in writing, which I think is on his website. I’ll have to go look for the figure. My point was less to do with that though, and more to do with the way McCain has handled his campaign. Issues notwithstanding, I don’t know how I could vote for a guy who ran his campaign so badly and trust him to run the country any better. Obama has surrounded himself with the best people, he stays cool under pressure, and has tried to campaign on issues, instead of negative personal attacks. That makes him ore presidential to me. Obviously I lean more to the left so I would vote for him on the issues, but with taking a step back, and looking just at the campaigns, there’s a clear difference. Sort of sad. McCain might have been a good candidate if he was the same guy who was anti-torture, pro progressive taxes, and pro green energy like he used to be. He trulyhas sold his soul to Karl Rove in the last couple years and become the very right-wing tool he used to disparage. Back when he used to ACTUALLY be a maverick, I might have thought this over more.

Regarding the tax issue, All of it means nothing until it goes through the congress anyway. From both sides. I laugh at the attack ads in my local congressional district because they are talking about this one wants to raise taxes, etc, when they are just one in a small number of congresspeople. they couldn’t enact ANY of their own “policies.”

                      • froofrou says:

My biggest issue with the way McCain has run his campaign is that he’s been soft in the wrong places. He should have come out swinging in a few more cases where there was low hanging fruit for him to pluck. Instead, he let it go in the interest of not running a smear campaign (don’t flame me, I know it’s gotten smeary lately), and what this has caused is Obama basically coasting along, not having to be on the offense and really defending what he believes. Now that McCain has decided to play hardball on some issues, it makes him come off as a bitter old man, and Obama is still able to coast. However, I still have fewer issues with him than I do with McCain. At least we haven’t discovered any long lost McCain relatives living in slums. :-)
                        -
Click the name again for a really good article about the mass appeal of Obama.

                        • minerva146 says:

It’s an opinion piece (on the opinion page) that translates as” the American people are a bunch of sheep.” I thought it was interesting, but doesn’t really address the fact that people really are paying more attention t politics this year then many have their entire lives. They need something different from the trickle down sameness. The middle class is the foundation of the economy, but they are being ignored by some McCain supporters altogether (not saying you) You mention trickle down, they mention welfare. As if there are not millions of people in between rich and poverty that are struggling to say afloat all the same.

On the topic at hand, I just think Obama has run a much better campaignm If McCain can’t even surround himself with the right people campaigning, how can he be trusted to run the country with the right people advising him and affecting his judgment. (I mean, really. The same people that smeared him in 2000, lobbyists for fannie/freddie, as well as for Saddam Hussein? ?????)

                        • froofrou says:

But one of Obama’s pals *poke* dedicated a book to the assassin of Robert Kennedy……..I wonder if Teddy knows this *poke* :-)
                          -
I’m not going to change your mind, you’re not going to change my mind, but it’s fun to see where we both lie on the spectrum :-)

                        • froofrou says:

*poke* and several of Obama’s life advisors are pretty out there. And he neglects his family. And he keeps going back on the things he says. And and and and *choke* *gasp* *cough* LOL. I know, I’m giving you talking points, but my talking points can at least be backed up a little, unlike your run of the mill troll :-) Plus, I like you! ;-)

                        • minerva146 says:

*rawr* said the bear. ;) I thought we were talking about how the campaigns were run… There you go changing the subject again and taking suff I said out of context. LOL. You know I don’t really buy the guilt by association thing in either direction. Talk to you later I’m about to turn into a (non-halloween) pumpkin, so off to bed. ( I have to work and play D&D tomorrow). :) :):)

                        • minerva146 says:

                        • Duh says:

Yeah, that’s a SMILF (sugar momma ILF)

          • PortlandMark says:

What the hell Froofrou? “Baby daddy” is blatantly non partisan, “The Messiah” comes from conservative talk show hosts and “BTMN” is from Rush Limbaugh, making a bad joke that references the racist movie role of the “Magic Negro”.
Usually you do well, but that post was just plain wrong wrong wrong!

            • froofrou says:

Baby daddy got a LOT of negative press when it showed up on Fox News, even though the words came out of Michelle Obama’s mouth.
              -
The Messiah came from Louis Farakkan originally back in February before it was picked up by the conservatives
              -
BTMN came from a liberal blogger long before Rush picked it up.
              -
Want sources? It might take me a minute, but I can get them :-) You ought to know I don’t spout without having things to back it up :-)

              • PortlandMark says:

“You ought to know I don’t spout without having things to back it up ”

Exactly what I was thinking. I was disappointed, but I wll provisionally back down off my high horse :)

          • My point is that it’s not just Democrats. There’s been labeling on both sides of the fence, including some of the self-labeling you pointed out.

      • Fred says:

PULEASE! A democrat thing. You are such a moron. BTW, your mom was good last night and I’m voting for John McCain.

      • ThreeZeroSeven says:

Yet another uninformed, naive conservative that not only exhibits exceptional moral and intellectual bankruptcy, but will not except the fact that their party is highly inferior in their ideology and policy. Open your eyes. Bush was a disaster, is it to strenuous on your closed mind and pathetic brain to realize that Mccain is more of the same?

Tell your friends, and show them the proof.

Adolf Hitler was well-known to have used hypnosis on crowds to gain power in Germany. (Just Google it if you doubt it.) So why cant this happen in America? It is happening.

Now, this document, An Examination of Obama’s Use of Hidden Hypnosis Techniques in His Speeches is really spreading. Many people, including young people, are starting to wake up.

Young people have come up with a saying, “Don’t drink the kool-aid Obama is pushing on you.”

Obama has no accomplishments, we don’t know him, he wrote a memoir, he has racist connections, he is using hypnosis, and he thinks he’s the Messiah and that he should be in control of the world. We’ve seen this story before in Germany in the 1930’s, haven’t we? We know what happened there.

Obama’s use of hypnosis in speeches is why:
    -nothing sticks to him
    -the huge crowds
    -the huge money contributions
-the mesmerized effect, especially in young people, who, because of their imaginations are more susceptible to hypnosis (read the document)
-the exorbitant election fraud, rule-breaking and bias in the media
-he gets away with changing every position
-people are calling him the “greatest leader of a generation” with no accomplishments

You have to read this document to understand how his hypnosis works. Logically and rationally, why not get to know this guy a little more before handing the world over to him? Why not wait?

An Examination of Obama’s use of Hidden Hypnosis Techniques in His Speeches can be found at
    http://www.scribd.com/doc/7470439/Obamas-Use-of-Hidden-Hypnosis-Techniques-in-His-Speeches

    PS – “Dont drink Obama’s Kool-Aid”

    • ck says:

OMG OBAMA USES HOPENOSIS ON THE INNOCENT MASSES!

      • minerva146 says:

I am not yet middle aged, and my husband has teens, so I probably would hear what “young people” are saying, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard that one. FYI, drinking Kool-aid makes you paranoid. I think “a” had the purple kind.

    • wassssahhh says:

you just dont want an african american in the whitehouse, rascist!

    • The document you linked to appears to have started out as a text on effective speaking techniques, but ended up having had someone do a “replace all” on “effective speaking,” dropping in “hidden hypnosis.” Seriously, the text labels as hypnotic “linking statements,” “causality bridges,” “secondary hidden meanings,” “pacing and leading (which you can learn, if I’m not mistaken, at Toastmasters),” “emotion transfer,” and “stacking language patterns.”

According to you, every effective writer or speaker ever has to have been a stealth hypnotist.

Apparently tinfoil scrambles signals in both directions. 1/10.

    • eddiepscetti says:

Now you did it, the nazi’s have been mentioned and The Wang shall appear shortly to deal with the situation.

  19. Greenwood says:

Wow, I’m pretty middle of the road and it sounds to me like you’ve been drinking some special koolaid yourself there…or maybe you smok’um a bit much on peace pipe, either way…just, wow.

  22. Fail Funnies says:

  23. artshoulddie says:

i’m so sick of seeing mccain staring at every woman’s fucking ass! i mean… fuck, i realize that women have nice asses, but as a presidential candidate, does he really have to do that with documented public vision??? fuck, man.

  24. Jodi says:

Have you sseem close-ups of her? If she’s the trophy, he must have lost!

  25. Jodi says:

    oops, meant “seen”

  26. zhuk says:

  27. lame'g says:
