Isn’t it kind of safe to say that you’re going to get people in the C to A range no matter what school you look at? Those are some damn hard schools, so I’d like to think that a C coming from an Ivy League school is something to be proud of.

This is my right wing nuttery coming out here, but I honestly believe that she was having to hold herself back a lot in that interview to appear less right wing, and she came off sounding stupid. She wasn’t able to be honest, therefore she had to really think about what she was saying instead of giving gut answers, and she came off as fake and vapid. A VP can’t go against the party leader, and her being so much more right leaning than McCain forces her to hold back her natural conservativeness (is that even a word?). I think the same applies to Obama when he stutters during non-telepromtered speeches (especially at the beginning and all the way up until the first debate). He’s not being completely honest, so he has to think about the answers he gives in order to give the ‘right’ answer.

That’s a long way of saying that I think Sarah Palin knows good and well what newspapers she reads, but she had been told to keep her damn uber-conservative views caged up, and it forced her to act like an idiot. If she had been allowed to speak as she really thinks, she would come out as an uber-conservative, but at least she would come out as more honest and intelligent.

I think the real problem is that the US Department of Education, since the Bush Administration, has labeled any sex education beyond abstinence only as explicit sex education is the real problem. Palin’s idea of “explicit” is different than te definition that has been put forth by the USDoE.
