I need to start GMing a new campaign. Dunno if I should make it 3.5 or 4. Not satisfied with the GM in the game my hubby and I are playing in. Power gamer, w/ little content.
I was building a campaign setting from the bottom up when they jacked over to 4th. I still have a lot of the notes somewhere if you’re ever interested.
And the classical term for the sort of game that DM was running is “Monty Hual”

It… ALL propaganda. ALL OF IT. The question is whether it’s white (generally true statements that are used in an influential way to turn the opinions of the people). gray (some truth mixed with some misinformation OR pictures or statements that are ‘technically’ true but have were staged events for the exact purpose of propaganda) or black (totally false information with absolutely no bearing on truth, which is often used to frighten the public into action or inaction.)
I’m going to call this Gray.
And I’m just going to call it a nice picture, staged or not.
Wouldn’t the more pressing question be whether or not it’s just another image either taken or found later and used to serve the doctrinal purpose of getting people to believe that Coalition forces are somehow reducing violence in Iraq, and whether or not it is quiet and unassuming enough to distract general cynicism?
It is a nice picture, although, I see what you mean. The Royal Navy came to our school once and showed us the recruitment video. It was all:
“The Royal Navy is A FORCE FOR GOOD.”
and:
