First?
Fidel wasn’t the first foreign leader to come out in support of Obama for President, but he is one of the more famous ones.
*Former* foreign leader.
With all your Commie red-baiting, I’m surprised you’re not trolling the Joe Mac lol.
…IN a floating bathtub.
BTW First! First time being first! Hahahah!
Damn slow connection!
*wins*
Next time!
I shall crush you! Crush, crush, crush!
Oh, my that picture of Castro is having its effects, isn’t it?
Hmm.. Castro in old people home…
Welcome! Please surrender your dignity and ideals at customs. Enjoy.
Not to mention your laptop. Damn.
I read your comments and I wonder……… is there even one among you that remembers when Fidel Castro was hailed as a ’savior’ and was an honored guest on prime time talk shows like the Jack Parr Show ? Guess that goes to show how damned old I am, huh ? But…….. he sure isn’t coming to live in my ‘old folks’ home’ because I’d have to kill him just for sh**s and grins. Would make my day to pput him out of his effin misery.
Yeah, his life expectancy in Miami would be rather short. Those Miami Cubans are all right wing gun owners, and still very mad about what happened to their granddaddies’ wealth.
wow, what an intelligent couple of statements.
Well, I don’t remember the show, but yes, from what I understand, the reason the US hates him so much is because he nationalized a bunch of foreign-owned (ie, owned by rich Americans, mostly) companies and stuff, ostensibly for his country’s own good. And that his predecessor was even worse than he ever was – but his predecessor was a friend to Big Business.
I could be wrong. I’m Canadian, and we never stopped trading with Cuba. Funny thing is, I’ve never met a Cuban up here (though I know lots of folks who like to holiday there.)
Frankly, sometimes I wish that Canada would do similar – or at least, stop everything we have from becoming foreign-owned (even Hiram Walker’s – Canadian Club whiskey, you know? – is owned by a British company now. And Tim Horton’s is owned by Wendy’s! Gah!
I was really hoping that Magna (Belinda! Belinda! She ain’t no politick girl! – sorry, Air Farce ref) would have been the one to buy out Chrysler the last time it was up for sale. Sigh. Maybe next time.
She might still have a chance. Chrysler and GM have been in talks of a merger…
My grandfather must be rolling over in his grave.
He was Parts Supervisor at the Windsor HQ for his entire life, pretty much. He hated his job, but was insanely good at it (fantastic photographic memory. He didn’t need books to know what part number was what, and if they had any.) Near the end of his career, he quit his job and refused GM’s offer to come work for them for more money – always said that GM guys were a bunch of arseholes. He was offered his job back at Chrysler two weeks later, and took it.
I worked in a outsourced Windsor parts plant for about a year, and found out Grandpa was right. GM swept in, practically took it over, and all the fun went out of the job almost immediately. It was a good place to work until they came in with all their dictates – and they neither owned the plant nor were they the only customers (Ford and Toyota (or was it Honda?) were bigger customers, I think.
Though I drive a Pontiac, it’s just a third-hand Adam Sandler car that was the only thing I could afford. It’s ready to die, and I don’t really care except for the fact that I probably won’t be able to replace it for a while.
That’s funny. The Germans aren’t known for their sense of fun.
I suppose I’m also slightly biased seeing as how my mother currently works for Chrysler. But I have heard that Chrysler was one of the better places to work for as far as parts and assembly. And I know that Ford, in the past, had a lot of opportunity for people. And that GM was rather stick to business and get it done.
But it’s all only getting worse right now.
Oh, my grandfather died in ‘72, long before the Germans owned it.
And the plant I worked for was, as I mentioned, an outsource plant – made parts for everyone EXCEPT, I believe, Chrysler.
And all the Big 3 plants used to be THE opportunity in town. Now you can’t even get in unless you are related to (someone living) who currently works there.
Apparently, both Ford and GM are shutting down Windsor plants, resulting in the loss of at least a couple thousand jobs, or more. Quite devastating for a city of only maybe 350,000 people or so (sizable for Canada).
I’m SO glad I’m in Alberta, even though I have nothing to do with oil, cattle or wheat. except perhaps on the consumer end.
That’s just perfect.
He could be part of Obama’s staff- he’s perfect for it !
wtf? how stupid ARE you?
Castro would be welcomed by Obama. After all, he endorsed The One for President.
Actually it’s true, but it’s kind small from how I see it.
If I endorse Obama for President, can I get a cushy job like you think Castro can?
Castro is a sly old fox. If he says he endorses Obama, it really means that he wants MacCain to be elected.
So did Colin Powell. So, if A=B and A=C, doesn’t it follow that B=C?
Could happen, the GOP give’s Cubans a free pass…trying to buy Florida.
But Castro endorsed Obama- FAIL!
And… your point is? Oh… that’s right, you’re just sticking with the same old tired rant — Failure to see your own consistent FAIL… Guess that means you’re just a moron.
When violent Communistic leaders endorse one candidate, it worries intelligent people. Therefore, since you are not worried……Moron?
And Hitler liked comic books. Does that mean Stan Lee is a Nazi?
Associative fail.
You know Stalin, Putin, Ghengis Khan, Bin Laden, AND Saddam ALL liked to eat.. and endorsed doing it daily… Aw frack.. we’re all nazi/tyrants/terrorists.
it’s frak
Hooooo-leeeeee Shite.
Goodwin’s Law at it’s greatest fail, Right Here, folks!
Oh and also DWN’s Wang is a staple of our time, a true testament to debunk
the myth of “playing with it makes you go blind”. DWN’s wang also works
great on silk, polyester, nylon, and cotton for removing stains… or adding them in..
That is all
Yes, that is the rule. Also, don’t forget leather.
Or muslin
win
We have no way of knowing if he is blind or not, there are plenty of ways to use the Internet without sight.
“Violent”? You believe Cuba to be a horrible, repressive regime? I’ve never been there, but the impression I’ve gotten is that it’s a very poor place with lots of good doctors, and a nearly100% literacy rate. Now with cell phones, too!
So then why are thousands trying every year to escape from there to the USA ? Don’t recall the Cuban MIGS shooting down human rights airplanes ?
Do you see lots of pretty colors with the drugs you are on ?
only with the ones we get from Rush and the other *wink* anti-drug consevatives.
Gee, and if Obama Wins and gets his way we will be just like Cuba! Yah!
Just wait, you’ve been suckered! You’ve had too much of that Kool-Aid.
Go ahead, believe everything the media tells you. Obama has WON, no need to vote. But if you do wish to vote, vote on NOV. 11th, that’s the Late Voter Day. this year.
Hey! Doesn’t that mean we get to share?
Good one Spanky, I bet you chanted “I know you are, but what am I?” as you typed…come on, you know you did, don’t be ashamed…someday, you too can be a grownup.
Number of political prisoners on the Island of Cuba in 2007 as defined by Amnesty International
56 – In Cuban prisons
576 – In Guantanamo Bay
Because Castro dumped his prisons out into the US courtesy of Dipsh*t Carter.
And only 56 more dissidents have arisen in the twenty eight years since then. Right.
The US govt never killed anyone who didn’t deserve it.
It’s easy to find things to criticise in any government, the Cuban regime has survived an absolute maelstrom of attacks from successive US governments, actually because it has the support of the overwhelming majority of the Cuban people. Not chinese style “Smile or we’ll jail your children” support. Cubans openly criticise their government and the society they live in freely and without fear, their biggest concern day-to-day is the constrains of the US embargo, which prevents any company wishing to do business in the US from trading with Cuba. Basic medicines which save life such as paracetamol and penicillin are probably harder to obtain than in the poorest parts of Africa.
Most of the so-called Political Prisoners are nothing more than CIA stooges who were caught out. And wasn’t it the Mayor of Miami who recently called the vociferous Cuban Exile lobby in his city “A Bunch of spoiled-rotten malcontents”
Just to add you could go and see for yourself but of course, your liberal democratic, freedom loving government likes has made it illegal for US citizens to set foot on Cuban Soil. Of course that’s not in any way a limitation on your freedom of movement
LOL
Americans aren’t allowed to even BE in Cuba? Really? Jings.
Technically, Americans are allowed to do anything in Cuba, EXCEPT for to spend any money at all. (except if you get an official State Department exception).
At least, that’s how I understand the actuality of it.
“The US Govt. never killed anyone who didn’t deserve it.”
Aye right.
well, everyone is entitled to a few mistakes.
Agreed. The only questionably violent acts ever carried out by the Cuban govt. were the executions of the Batista regime leaders. Even these were backed by over 93% of Cuban citizens, and have pretty much the same moral standing as the Nuremberg trials.
