Um, technically Congress gave us that tax increase. All the President can do is veto bills that Congress has already passed, and if that bill has enough Congressional support, they can override the veto.
The President has very little power over what tax laws Congress passes.
And that congress was controlled by Democrats until 1994.
Do you really think that Reid and Pelosi would tell Obama ‘no’ on a tax increase if he proposed it?

See some countries the government uses taxes to pay for healthcare, education, social housing and stuff that gives you a direct benefit to your daily life on a value for money and security basis that private corporations can never match. Since the US govt has a long and unashamed history of using your taxes to fund ill-concieved wars on relatively defenseless 3rd world states, and mostly manage to LOSE them for the sole reason of increasing profits for their friends on the boards of a few major corporations, I can understand why the US public are a bit reticent at paying more taxes.

Even were this true, and i’m sure it was investigated, Children of American citizens are still natural-born citizens, even if they are born elsewhere. My sister-in-law was born in Panama as her dad was in the service at the time. She’s a natural born American.
