    This one’s priceless!

  4. AC says:

    Hold on a minute!
    “Coming to the states”?
That man has a German flag on his uniform…

    • minerva146 says:

I KNEW the religious right were a bunch of nazis!!!!!1!!11 LOL :D

      • Must I discuss my wang again?

      • Rorsc says:

        The Nazi’s were anti-religion, douchebag !

        • mAlise says:

then can you please explain the slogan ‘gott mit uns!’?

        • Seth says:

Read your history, they were not anti-religion. They were very pro-religion. In fact, fascism is defined partly three things: it’s pro-nationalist sentiment, it’s religious manipulation, and the collusion between business and the state.

          • AC says:

Not so much pro-religious as pro-anything-we-can-use-as-a-weapon.

          • Fook Hing Coffin Shop says:

Fascism and Nazism are diffrent jars on the same shelf. But yes, Nazis were pro-religion.

            • rewboss says:

Actually, it’s a lot more complicated than that. Nazism used a hodge-podge of Christian and Pagan symbolism with a dash of occultism to construct a sort of mythology about itself, and at first the mainstream churches considered nazism to be in tune with Christian beliefs.

And then it gets really interesting. Some Nazis wanted to gradually replace Christian symbols with Nazi symbols, so a sort of new Nazi religion would gradually replace Christianity without anyone noticing; others just wanted to sweep away everything that had been, as they saw it, “imported” since the year 800, set up the National Reich Church and ban the Bible; others still just thought religion was pretty much irrelevant.

In effect, the Nazis weren’t pro religion in the sense that they embraced Christianity; but many wanted to turn Nazism itself into a religion.

For the record, Hitler put his faith in scientific progress, and believed religion would just die out of its own accord.

              • Fook Hing Coffin Shop says:

I never said pro-christianity. Anyway, the religious aspects of Nazism are still a mystery, there are lots of theories spanning over a 70-year debate. Excuse my english.

              • Obama says:

Hey! That’s kind of like Black Liberation Theology!

                • yeah OK says:

                  Only not.

White Christians ought to be humbled by the fact that so many African-Americans embrace Christianity considering that it was the primary psychological vehicle of their subjugation as slaves.

But… apparently, some of you aren’t.

                  • Obama says:

What a lie, how in the world can you say that when Africans themselves sold their own into slavery? There was slavery all over the world in all cultures and civilizations, Arab, African, Jewish, Native American, everywhere. It was a world wide problem and still is in some areas. It was however a movement within Christianity that ended slavery in the civilized world forever.

                  • Obama says:

                  • Krafen says:

Humbled? No. Pleased? Yes. Christianity is a religion tailor-made to control slaves
It teaches people to act passively and accept their lot in life. They are reassured that however bad life seems to be, it should simply be endured because it will be much better after they die, as long as they follow the rules. It is not the opiate of the masses, it is the sedative. Converting their African slaves to Christianity was an incredibly effective means of control. It baffles me that so many African-Americans still embrace the religion that was used to enslave the minds of their ancestors.
While there were certainly Christian abolitionists, Christian teachings were also used to justify slavery.

              • yeah OK says:

Except for that messy business about him claiming to be Catholic.

              • Susan says:

Now that’s fascinating. I knew some of it, and this adds to it…RESEARCH time…fun!

            • germangerman says:

The Nazis were not religous after all. But they used it to manipulate
people. Hitler and the other highranked Nazis like Goebbels were atheists.
Also they used old German stuff, like Oldgerman runes for the SchutzStaffel (SS)
The “S” were actually the Sig-Rune from the old Germans.

        • redinzane says:

hitler was searching for the holy grail
          thats not just indiana jones
they were fucking crazy but in a somehow religious way

    • Rachel of Cyberia says:

Ok, so change it to “reason for coming to die Stadt?”

  5. jonny says:

is llechwedd22 broken? this pic is not the US…

  6. T4b says:

yeah… so there are three german flags in that picture… can’t see a us flag anywhere ;)

  7. Screw it, I still lol’d and favorited.

  8. bittervoter says:

Country confusion aside, this lol is still great! Let’s try to avoid bickering and just enjoy the cleverness for once.

  9. BubbaHotep says:

    nah, it was retarded.

  10. Wammathorius says:

    Haha roflhoussen! props to llechwedd22

  11. Yeh says:

Now there wouldn’t be a German flag and a German soldier in the states would they? -_-

  12. daishi says:

Its a member of the German ISAF – troops in Afghanistan..

  13. Mata says:

Oh it could be the state(germany is a state) or for the sake of it the republic.

But actually it doesnt matter, this one is really good.

Btw the uniform tells me its a german soldier being not in germany. its the uniform for hot countries(hard to translate).

In other words: soldiers who are sent to an operation thats more south than Austria. Since all german operations are more south than that, they could be anywhere….

Im not a nerd, I was such a soldier ;)

  14. Ted says:

    I believe that’s Gemrany.

  15. EmpressofGeorge says:

Eh, Germany, US, wherever, it’s still funny.

  16. Linkinbassist says:

I’m not even going to start with the things that are wrong with this failed abortion of comedy…

  17. Hernandez says:

    Fantastic.

  18. yeah OK says:

It *would* have been funny with a different flag. Oh what the hell. I LOLed anyway.

also, wtf the Nazi jokes… you can’t even deny the Holocaust in Germany anymore, you’ll go to jail. Despite the presence of some far-right groups the nation is embarrassed by its Nazi past and wishes to distance itself from that as much as possible.

Now if you want to talk about American neocons being fascist I’m right there with you. They didn’t get to kill enough people when it was Native Americans. They want to move on to other “undesirables” now.

    • Obama says:

Only when the “undesireables” fly planes into their buildings killing many of their citizens. If it wasn’t for troublemakers like that there would be peace in our time.

  19. Crysta says:

…That guy’s not an American soldier. They’re not IN the states.

He’s German; look at the flag on his shoulder.

  20. C says:

You know, that appears to be an *East* German flag, in the background at least. How old is this picture?

  21. BlomDUue says:

nice one :) but why do they wear german flags ? :P

  22. Mike J says:

This would make a whole better joke, if the officer, and the flag in the background wasn’t german!

    Mike

    • wavemeister says:

Hey, it’s the Federal Republic of Germany, consisting of 16 states (17 if you add Majorca, 15 if subtracting Bavaria)…so technically, the joke is okay.

      • PiMan says:

Why add Majorca or remove Bavaria?

        • daishi says:

Mallorca is like Hawaii, Bavaria is like Texas.. :P

        • wavemeister says:

Because Majorca is occu…visited by many, many Germans (see also “Der Kรถnig von Mallorca” and “Ballermann 6″).

And Bavaria…well, in the German edition of “Kentucky Fried Movie”, the lines
“These are the Hartz Mountains of Asia. A terrain so rugged, so treacherous, no country will claim it.”
          “Worse then Detroit?”
          “I’m afraid so.”
          were replaced by the line
“A country worser than Bavaria”…maybe you get the drift. :D

      • redinzane says:

        bavaria is great
mountains, beer, beautiful old cities and high-tech industry

  23. frings says:

“For the last time, gentlemen: We don’t hate the Jews anymore!”

  24. Noah says:

Mukhtar. Weren’t you all paying attention??

  25. V. Henry says:

without all the political rhetoric, that was a classic!

  26. sam says:

    germany/usa aside…..
    GENIUS, my friend. Just………….genius. =DDD

  27. ricardo says:

you retard. theyre in Germany you dumb fuck. Theres a german flag behind them and on that mans uniform.
