Yay! A dig at both sides! :-)

  2. ice_army says:

    A most apt decription. I lol’d.

  3. n8 says:

Well, in McCain’s case it’s the art of throwing out more lies than your opponent can debunk in the time allotted to him. But perhaps that wouldn’t have made as witty a poster.

  4. Jim says:

This one was great!! Good job Slackertarian!

  5. Eu says:

US presidential elections are a joke. You took bullsh*t to a whole ‘nother level.

  6. thereisnodanaonlyzuul says:

    Epic win!!!

  7. pointman says:

of course the ‘elections’ are a joke, and a colossal waste of time and money. Didn’t anyone learn anything from the 2000 election? The ol’ boy system is going to use any and every dirty trick they have to get who ever they want in office. Our votes are meaningless. If we don’t ‘vote’ for who the government wants, they use the ‘electoral college’ to fix the ‘problem’ for them. ‘Campaigning’ is just a distraction tool they use to keep us from paying attention to what they are really doing. Notice how neatly the $700 billion bailout is being swept under the rug? The gas shortages are already being hidden.

*Shrug* I’d say we should wake up and pay attention to the real issues, but, I know that it would fall on deaf ears. So, just sit back, have another beer, and go back to complacency. There’s nothing we can do about it anyway.

    • cobrajoe says:

      “The ol’ boy system” eh?
What about ACORN and their fraudulent voter registrations?
      *
Also, when has an elector voted against what the state voted?
      *
The electoral college does not bias itself towards one candidate or the other, but this system means that you can lose the popular vote and still win the election.

Golf analogy: Golf is usually played that the lowest score wins the game. But, if you played so that the lowest score wins the hole, then you tallied up the number of holes you won, you can win the game without having the lowest score.

      • n8 says:

They’re called “faithless electors.” Rare, but it does happen, even as recently as the 2004 election.

      • Christine says:

The ACORN thing has been discussed ad nauseum. So I have a simple analogy for you.
I transport money for the mob. Every suitcase of money I get has some real money and some counterfeit. You see me and ask me what is in the suitcase and I tell you money. You pull a gun and tell me to give you the money or I die. So I hand you the suitcase and say, “The stacks with yellow rubber bands are counterfeit. The purple rubber bands are real money.” But you go ahead and use the counterfeit money anyway. Even though you know it is fake. That is not my fault.

So. To make it even simpler for you. I would be ACORN in this case, and you would be the government. ACORN flags all the suspicious and false voter registrations (yellow rubber bands around the fake money), that they are required by law to turn in (“hand over the money or you die” part). If the city clerk’s office registers the ones that have been flagged (you using the counterfeit money) it is not ACORN’s fault because they did everything in their power to stop it.

An elector campaigned and voted for Mickey Mouse one election. I’ll have to get back to you on the specific election, but I learned about it in my history book in high school.

  8. GomerPhyls says:

Hehe… Sorry this is unrelated to the post but I had to share with ya’ll.

Someone signed me up for the GOP’s emails, which I find very interesting and read often for the lulz.
An email I received 20 minutes ago talked about Joe the Plumber and how he’s going to suffer under Obama’s tax plans.
Anyone who’s been watching the news knows Joe the Plumber is a fraud who has no idea that we’re already using a Progressive Tax system and that he would actually save money under Obama because he doesn’t make anywhere near $250k a year, nor does the business he plans to buy.
So I called the DC office of Senator Orrin Hatch, the author of the email, and cordially told his secretary that Senator Hatch’s email made him look foolish and out of touch for continuing to use Joe the Plumber as an example of an American who would be negatively effected by Obama’s tax plans. I then went on to tell her that Sen. Hatch’s email only encourages me to vote Obama and that I would be passing my opinion on to others, including my family who live in red counties throughout California and Oregon.
Join in on the lulz, here’s Senator Hatch’s DC office phone number: (202)224-5251.

    • lol says:

Joe the Plumber is a GOP plant.

      • KillerRabbit says:

Joe pointed out that the Emporer has no clothes….and wants to tax you blind.

        • Seth says:

Joe is not a plumber. Joe is not registered to vote. Joe makes less than $250,000/year, so his taxes will go down. Not only is Joe a Republican media whore, he is an idiot. Not only is he an idiot, the people who decided McCain should use him, without vetting him (again with the no vetting!), are complete and utter morons. Finally, even if he were a real plumber, registered to vote, and made over $250,000/year, nobody gives a damn. It’s the economy, stupid. Bad economy trumps everything, even taxes.

          • minerva146 says:

I read that Joe is a registered republican. ;) The rest is true.

          • Kevin T. says:

And of course, all rich people are evil, so they can be taxed until they’re poor again.

            Yay! Robin hood!

            • Guinny says:

You do know that that’s not how taxes work, right?

              • froofrou says:

You’re right, but Obama’s statement about redistributing wealth is exactly how that works.

                • Guinny says:

That is a poorly chosen catchphrase, I would agree with that. But it’s absurd to think that Obama is planning to rob rich people of their money to give it to the poor so everybody is equally wealthy. I wouldn’t support him if that were the case, being the owner of a business that makes well over $250.000 a year.

I don’t see anything wrong with us richies paying higher taxes if that’s what it takes to get our country out of its slump, though.

                  • KillerRabbit says:

                    “IT”S THE SPENDING !!!!”
No matter how much money the government takes from us, they always manage to spend more.

                    • Guinny says:

Hopefully the recent happenings have taught them a lesson… BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Sorry, couldn’t keep a straight face.

                      • froofrou says:

He, uh, kind of said exactly that the other day. It’s not a catchphrase as much as a Freudian Slip, I think :-)

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Except that the president cant DO that. He cant just take your
money away and give it to others. No more so than he can just
take your guns away. And when you think about it… your paycheck
is a redistribution of wealth. Taxes are the same thing. Anytime
money changes hands is a redistribution. The thing is the
Republicans are using their favorite weapon, “fear” to try and
keep folks in line by using outrageous claims that cant LEGALLY
                          be done.

                        • froofrou says:

A paycheck is NOT a redistribution of wealth. It is payment for services rendered. Taxes are a redistribution, because it takes part of payment for services rendered and shuttles it to someone or something that hasn’t done those services. And the next president, if he is a democrat, WILL be able to redistribute the wealth by raising taxes even more because he will have the backing of congress. There is nothing in te Constitution about taxes. There is about guns, therefore they can’t take them away.

            • Jane St.Clair says:

Only if it’s the Keven Costner version. That movie is teh awesome. Alan Rickman in tight pants… *sigh*

  9. Thor says:

How about the candidates as the Little Rascals ?

  10. signe says:

this reminds me of some people i know

  11. James says:

    EPIC neutral?

  12. Kevin T. says:

More Obama than McCain, I think.

After all, when asked whether they’d choose Supreme Justices based on their ideology, McCain said that he wouldn’t and would choose them based on merit, whereas Obama went into a long winded tirade about abortion, completely ignoring the question.

Still, I think McCain did it too a few times. :-/

    • GomerPhyls says:

The only problem with that is McCain said he wouldn’t apply a litmus test and then went on to completely contradict himself by saying he wouldn’t choose anyone that believed in Roe v Wade. Doesn’t that qualify as a litmus test right there?

  13. Tuure Koivikko says:

    LOL.

    True.

  14. Lark says:

Kind of like tribal council on Survivor.

  15. vea says:

haha…so true..one of the reasons why i hate it..
