Personally, I think the war has gone on long enough. If we win or retreat, I DON’T CARE; as long as it’s over (and if we can negotiate peacfully), then I’ll be happy.

Earlier you said Palestinian civilians support the terrorists. Can you link me somewhere to get, or cite more information about this? Or maybe just explain to me how it is that someone who hasn’t spoken with any Palestinian civilians can have a clear understanding of their mentality? Having read literature written by Palestinians in the U.S., I was under the impression that non-radical Palestinians wanted to be allowed a national identity without being prosecuted for expressing interest in the history of their people. I could be wrong though, and that’s not sarcastic or anything, I just want to know what facts you are using to draw your conclusions.

Also, lol@calling anyone who speaks poorly of Israel an anti-Semite.

No, they don’t. They primary difference is the target. The palestinians are fighting an asymetric war. They attack Israeli civilians then use their own civilians as a shield. The Israeli’s attack the terrorists who are hiding behind civilians. You can paint the picture any way your mind wants to, your choice, but the intent is what makes the difference. yea, the option is peace. Stop the cycle of violence. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t unilaterally support Israel. But the initiator of this thread was totally wrong. The Palestinians have had many opportunities to stop the cycle of violence. Have the Israeli’s done things wrong, yes, but they have been under constant attack, both conventional and nonconventional, and they are winning. So, if the palestinians want peace, they need to figure out how to do it. it’s like the guy who keeps hitting his thumb with a hammer, it hurts so much until he stops.

oh no! I wrote you a reply but it must have gotten lost. Well, I guess to sum up, I said that if you are being truthful about hating terrorist of all stripes and persuasions, then I applaud you for it, its much better than most people (so my bad for assuming you were the Islamaphobe type).
Secondly i was saying that there are a large (and growing) number of small palestinian led (or in conjunction with Israelis) groups that are vocally and actively promoting peace. Or non-violence. So it does exist, I’m sure some internet diggin could find either of us some links if you wanna…?
thirdly, I just again stated that generalizing is bad, and lumping all the Palestinians together is not accurate.
And if it doesn’t work this time, or doubles… sorry!

You should look into some of the veterans stories from Israeli military where they tell of clearly using their power to cause fear, not protect anybody.
There really is more to the story than the gallant white knights defending King Arthur, versus the scheming evil badguys. I just don’t see things as ever being black and white, so I cannot accept stereotypes and fuzzy pictures.

Then you are far beyond the average “terrorist!” yeller, and I applaud you. However, I still believe it is fallacious to treat an entire population based on the actions of a few. And remember that shit-TONS of palestinians are now refugees in Jordan, Syria and elsewhere.
If you were inclined to research there are many palestinian led groups promoting peace or non-violent protest. And many more that are Palestianian/Israel communicative/understanding groups. It exists. The problem IS trying to be solved in a grassroots way, but it is difficult for everyone involved when there are so many outside pressures (read USA, read Saudi Arabia read any nation sticking its nose where it shouldn’t) Once again I ask that we not generalize people to the point of misrepresenting them.

You are jumping to conclusions. First, the palestinians had several chances to avoid their situation, (1948, 1956, 1967), yet they chose not to. They had additional chances (Camp David Accords and other peace initiatives) and again chose not to do so. So cry me a river, if the innocent Palistinians really want to end the violence they have an easy way to do so, renounce the violence. Second, spare me the “poor muslim” routine. terrorists are terrorists, regardless of their faith, however if you are a muslim and you choose to ignore those within your community who use terror to achieve their political goals, then don’t expect sympathy from me, just like Christians who use the same methods (abortion clinics, Oklahoma City, Waco TX, etc).

There is no “sharing land”. There is a wall set up that SOME of the people are not allowed to cross, and unprovoked raids being conducted at all hours of the day and night on families.
Sharing land would be amazing for some of these people I’m sure, but I can understand the frustration at having no say in who gets to take over your homes and land without retribution.

And Israel is not some loving excepting nation… I don’t know where that idea came from. Just recently there has been great unrest with “Morality Police” gangs beating and harrasing women who aren’t dressed conservatively enough. ‘Gas’ prices won’t change because the small drop in oil prices will be swallowed by the middle man.
Here in Australia for example, prices peaked at 1.70 per litre. Since the massive price drop of oil, petrol prices have only dropped at the pump by 20c.
