YAAARGH!
1st
Pirates might even be more vulnerable than most to an economic downswing. Shipments would decrease, competition would increase due to higher unemployment and thus more people getting into the underground business, etc…
Pirates may have it bad, but that means there may be more Vikings like me pillaging the lot of ya!
Norsemen ! “Viking” is a verb!
“A-Viking” is the verb, which means to go raiding.
The noun “viking” stems from this.
Too bad this couldn’t have come out on Talk Like a Pirate Day (sept 19)
Best holiday ever btw, props for knowing that
Don’t know who it is in the pic, but it is definitely in Pittsburgh!
HAHA!! It’s the Pittsburgh Regada. They have a contest that people build water crafts and float down the… Allegheny River? Or Ohio or Mon. Whatev. Most people sink.
That word is REGATTA. Thanks for playing.
Oh no, thank YOU for playing, spelling police!
Most sink?
Then why do they do it?
Must be the free Iron City beers….
They do it for something like $10,000. My uncle used to participate every year. He would make boats out of the shells of classic cars.
Pretty sure it’s the Mon. That looks like the 10th Street Bridge in the background. Connects the South Side and Downtown.
No, it’s the Allegheny. Those 3 bridges are the “3 sisters” over there by the Convention Center.
Yeah, the 6th, 7th and 9th Street bridges. This must have been the “Anything That Floats” race.
I thought I recognized the bridge–10th St., you think?
Very appropriate, given our economic status even withOUT a recession, heh…
this is an insult to republicans. BLAH LBAH ALSD RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!
LOUD NOISES
ECONOMY IS *INSERT PERSONS FAULT HERE*
EVERYONE SUCKS THAT DOESN’T AGREE WITH ME
I think punditkitchen is getting back to it’s roots, pure ridiculousness about politics, not continually bashing either way.
Go back under your bridge and do your trolling there.
You first.
go skate into an aids tree
Being that aids is transferred by bodily fluids… how would that hurt anymore than
hitting a regular tree?
You could get a splinter covered in sap.
Understanding of sarcasm fail.
HA HA! The new ”pirates of the carribean” movie obviously is feeling the economic pinch….
Maybe it won’t suck then…
I don’t think this is what they mean when they say “Pittsburgh Pirates”…
No, but those guys might have a better chance at having a winning season.
pittsburgh!
Ninjas are better, anyways.
Lies and slander!
ninjas are superior
Dragons pwn both.
But Dennis Quad pwns dragons.
but Chuck Norris pwns all.
Bruce Lee pwned Chuck.
They’re just waiting to catch a home run (probably hit by anyone BUT the pirates)
but i loves my Pittsburgh!!! <3
They don’t seem to be immune to losing, either.
Winning, on the other hand, they got their shots fo’ sho’!
Is that Pittsburgh? It looks like the sister bridges over the Allegheny…
just kidding, chorusofone’s comment answered my question
Only in Pittsburgh will I ever see something that stupid, in person none the less. What has this city come to?
Im fairly certain this was during the 250th Pittsburgh Birthday Celebration two weeks ago. Sister bridges in the background
This I agree with!
“economic money shortages”? Yeeps! Is there a doofier way to express that?
What about “money wealth cash dollar shortages”?
the picture is taken at the Three Rivers Ragata, as part of the Anything That Floats competition.
Definately in Pittsburgh, I’d recognize those bridges anywhere.
(I’m gonna look really stupid if i’m wrong, but it adds up. The bridges, the people dressed like pirates, the Pittsburgh Pirates…)
is that pittsburgh?! oh yeah, probably for the 250. those fireworks were awesome. i watched them from the science center roof.
Actually, it looks like the St. John’s Bridge in Portland, OR. Which would make sense considering there was a pirate event over in St. John’s awhile back. and I think that’s the bridge to Sauvie Island in the background.
