Okay, this one’s funny no matter who you’re voting for.

  2. Bunny says:

    roflroflroflroflrofl

  3. Lallz says:

LOL. More McCain LOLs like this please?
    I’m still smiling about it.

  4. steve says:

Yeah, okay, its kinda funny. But seriously, can this site get any more one-sided. The last lol that even remotely made fun of Obama was 14 pages ago.

    • PiMan says:

This lol is not making fun of McCain, it is making fun of people making fun of McCain.

      • steve says:

I don’t mind that it makes fun of McCain or not. My point was that I went back almost 3 weeks on here just to find a lol remotely making fun of Obama. So why is that? Is there a drought of Obama lols? Kinda doubt it.

        • PiMan says:

This one is making fun of McCain just as much the ‘robot’ Obama picture from the 8th

          • steve says:

Oh. You mean the one that says “By popular demand. Obama does “The Robot”. There was much rejoicing”. And that is making fun of him as much as this one where McCain is talking to some shrubs. Riiiight. The majority of Obama lols, and there aren’t that many, make Obama look like a bad-ass.

            • ema says:

You’re allowed to make fun of his ears.

              • Obama's Orgasm Squad says:

                OK here’s one:

OH BOY! My man Obama gunna be first Brutha to has sex in the Oval Office!
And maybe while he doing it, Michelle and I can be banging in the Lincoln Bedroom. She be yellin’ “Free the Slaves Baby!” Oooh Yeah!

Best I can do. Sorry. no pictures available at this time. But Just Imagine the gal pullin’ on his them Big EARS! :O

                • Redneck says:

Hur hur, racist lols r funneh.

                • ema says:

                  Not funny at all.

                  • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

That appears to be the issue here ema. So far the only remotely funny
lols about Obama have been either borderline racist, or “smack you
in the face with a halibut” racist. The problem appears to be that the
folks with sense, and a sense of humor (such as yourself) Dont make
any lols. Which you should. Regardless of whether you think they’ll
make it to the front page or not.
The funny Obama lols, I havent voted for, and they’re have been some
VERY funny ones that dont involve race or his ears(The hotdog/gay vote
lol for instance). It pleases me to see these things, because I like to
laugh, regardless of who’s on the butt of the joke.
So please… I beg of you, all of you: Make some funny lols about Obama
that dont involve race. Race is a stupid enough issue in this election
there’s no need to make lols of it, because its laughable as is.

                    • Choas Turtle says:

One of the funnier Obama ones I’ve seen is the “mind if we dance wif yo dates?” caption. I can see where some people think that’s about race, but it’s a quote from a damn fine movie, people.

                      • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Oh god yes! Im tempted to find a good picture to use
“Oh boys, lookie what I got”
“Hey! Where da white women at?”

Im sure most folks know EXACTLY where this came from. And
sadly, the situation fits perfectly.. Only… the economy is mongo.

                        • Choas Turtle says:

Our economy is only pawn in game of life? (And straight. Don’t forget that t part of Mongo.)

I’ve seen someone do the “where da white women at” but it wasn’t all that funny with the pic it was on. You need one of Biden and Obama for that one to work well.

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Exactly. Im awaiting the right picture to inspire me to come up
with the side splitting, knock em dead funny caption. If you lolbuil
                          them, they will come.

                    • James says:

Why is making fun of his ears equal racist?

                • somebody says:

First “brutha” to have sex in the oval office?

I would say just the first president to have sex in the oval office or any part of the white house.

                  With his wife, anyway.

              • Kelto says:

That’s Below the belt!! i mean…that’s if i remember my anatomy lessons correctly…

            • herb says:

              *sigh*

The Obama – Robot one was silly, combining geeky dancing with Monty Python. That’ll get you laid on a Saturday night.

This one exaggerates the Democrats position that McCain can’t go anywhere without Bush hovering around him like the infamous albatross; Obama’s tactic has been to claim McCain as the 3rd Bush term, and John Sydney McCain has subsequently been distancing himself from W. This LOL is hyperbole of that accusation.

        • ryszard says:

It’s because this blog is a ‘democracy’. I make plenty of Obie LOLz, suspect others do as well, but the viewership here is strongly left-biased. (The forum itself is more balanced.) Anyway, a simple majority sees to it that LOLz critical of BHO or the left in general do not see the light of day.

          • steve says:

I guess in order to defeat the librals here I will use the ACORN tactic of using fake votes. I’ll just make a hundred accounts and use them to vote on Obama lols.

            • DW says:

Dude, if you have the time for that, go for it.

            • ryszard says:

If you’re gonna do that, at least do it in a positive way. Make GOOD LOLz about conservatives and vote FOR them. (Like the one I made about MLK, just came up on the radar.)

Well, yeah, and vote against the really vile and hateful “Republicans/conservatives are stupid/evil/greedy/(pejorative of choice)” lefty trash.

              • herb says:

Just so you know, I vote down the banal anti-Repub LOLs as much as I do the anti-Dem LOLs.

And your MLK one reminded me of the billboards hung in Denver for the DNC “MLK was a Republican”. Somebody tagged one “Honk if you were too”. Seriously, though, the guy was pro-civil rights, a community organizer, anti-war (which is likely what got him killed), and very much pro-universal health care. I don’t think these are the same values of the Republican Party these days. I’m willing to be made wrong, though.

                • ryszard says:

I’d love to discuss this with you at length; it bears detailing. If you want to see where I’d be coming from, check out the following links. Note that the first is written by a niece of MLK.

                  http://www.errvideo.com/Links/21/

                  http: blackrepublican.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html

                  ***

I thought about using the tag ‘community organizer’ in my LOL, but distilled it down to fairly neutral ones taken from online bios. I class MLK as a pacifist, as opposed to “antiwar”. Perhaps too subtle a distinction, but if we assume that there was a conspiracy to assassinate him (I tend not to go there, that way lies madness), it was likely based on the people who surrounded him and the fringe groups they represented–just as radical as Bill Ayers and his bunch. (In fact, Stalin would have called them “fellow travelers”.)

Perhaps we should find a way to communicate outside of the forum; OTOH, others might benefit from the discussion as well. Though we clearly disagree on certain viewpoints, I think you and I have made a breakthrough. Yay, us!

                  • M.... says:

My Obama LOL’s don’t even get to the vote page anymore– in fact, NONE do !
Obama hasn’t won and we’ve already got censorship.

                    • herb says:

I ran through the vote page earlier: an insipid number of “Sarah is stupid LOL!”, a few about McCain not getting it, and a healthy number implying the gayness between Joe and Barack. (Which I voted for, because they were funny)

It’s not censoring; it’s taking a cross-section of those LOLs made. Maybe the site managers pick at random, maybe they cherry-pick the ones they feel funniest. Honestly, I’m inclined to believe it’s a luck-of-the-draw algorithm controlling what makes it to the votes page. What I don’t believe, however, is that a memmber of the Obama team reviews these pictures and prevents the ones anti-Barack to be posted.

                      • ema says:

I’m pretty sure there is a great deal of human interference, it’s not an algorithm because eventually an Obama lol would get on the front page if it were.

                        • DeathWyrmNexus says:

It would still require a number of votes to get there though and if there isn’t enough, I think that is where the human element comes in.

                        • herb says:

Obama LOLs do make it to the voting page, and even the front page, but not in recent days.

I find it difficult to imagine that there is so much human interference with the Joebama LOLs, but somehow ignoring the ones where the captioning doesn’t fit the screen.

                  • herb says:

I could argue about MLK’s position on war specifically as it related to Vietnam, but somehow the idea of arguing about a pacifist seems… not right.

Instead I will spend a few minutes reflecting on how I miss decent mench politicians like (Republican) Eisenhower.

                • lowly grunt says:

Just so you know, I vote down the banal anti-Repub LOLs as much as I do the anti-Dem LOLs.

So do I. If it is dumb, it gets a fail, regardless of political leaning. I’ve been using that button a lot lately.

            • n8 says:

*yawn* Boring. What else ya got?

            • jellybeans says:

I will use the Nevada state tactic of not reading the cover sheets ACORN attatched to each vote that did not meet quality control standards then blame them for dropping the ball.
Every ACORN registration received a call back at the number provided and the information was verified. If an employee did not complete the paper work correctly or if a registrant filled out the form falsely a cover sheet is attatched to that registration card. BY LAW they have to turn in the forms even if they suspect the forms are inaccurate. They do NOT by law have to put the cover sheet on the ones they are unsure of but they do anyway as a service to the state they are working in. The state then has the responsibility to verify or reject those forms. The cries of ACORN illegality are the death rattle of the republican party trying to play Kennedy/Nixon games so they can claim the election was stolen when they lose.

              • jellybeans says:

vote should be “voter registration card”

              • ryszard says:

                Bullcrap.

“In 2006, ACORN also committed what Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed called the “worse case of election fraud” in the state’s history.

In the case, ACORN submitted just over 1,800 new voter registration forms, and all but six of the 1,800 names were fake.

More recently, 27,000 registrations handled by the group from January to July 2008 “went into limbo because they were incomplete, inaccurate, or fraudulent,” said James Terry, chief public advocate at the Consumers Rights League.”

If you don’t like the source, you can get it from the Las Vegas paper, too.

                http: elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/07/acorn-vegas-office-raided-voter-fraud-investigation/

                • n8 says:

Here’s a link to an ACORN fact sheet. Basically, they are required to submit all the applications they get, even the ones that they know are problematic. In most cases, they attach a cover sheet to the problematic ones explaining the problem. This whole thing is just more desperate flailing from McCain and the RNC.

                  marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/10/acorn_rallies_its_troops.php

                  • ryszard says:

Yeh, yeh, yeh. The fox does a great job of guarding the chickens.

Pls–really–read the entire article linked above. It is actually about ireegularities encountered only a week ago in Las Vegas.

At the very least, ACORN’s requirement that their workers turn in 20 registrations a day, especially when they have to work outside in Nevada heat, is a virtual guarantee of ‘padding’, to put it kindly. I feel much more strongly about it than that, but I am trying to play nice.

ACORN has been linked to this sort of things for many years, in many places, and it is not only Republicans who have pointed it out.

                    • n8 says:

I finally got time to read your link, and I didn’t see anything particularly conclusive. The possibility stands that the irregular registration forms were filled out by provocateurs, or more likely by homeless folk needing an excuse to come stand in the air conditioning for a while (it was Nevada after all). ACORN alerted the state when there were irregularities found in the forms, so they did their job. I doubt there’s any wrongdoing here on ACORN’s part.

                      • ryszard says:

Thank you for making the time.

I agree that the numbers are SO FAR much lower in Nevada. However, other ACORN offices have been raided as well. They have shown a pattern of this in the past. Were a foreign power to be engaged in such activity, it would be considered an act of war.

Okay, I’ll open myself up to one. There have been rumors of people shouting “Kill Obama” or some such at Palin rallies. I suggested elsewhere that these could be leftist provocateurs. It is the sort of thing which the left has a history of (starting, for example, with the Chicago convention in 1968). But I have never heard of the right in this country doing so APART FROM DURING NIXON’S ADMINISTRATION. Can you point me to sources alleging or proving such? I am genuinely curious.

                        Tx,
                        r.

                        • Great Green Arkelseizure says:

You claim without evidence that the left has a history of using provocateurs, then you ask for evidence that the right ever has. Classy.

                        • n8 says:

I merely submit the possibility of provocateurs, as well as the possibility of other reasons why bogus registrations might be submitted (homeless in search of temporary respite from the outdoors.) You do raise the spectre of COINTELPRO, and it would not be unheard of for such measures to be taken. I don’t know the whole truth, but I am also not one for grandiose conspiracy theories.
I do think, however, that it would be foolish for Obama’s campaign to try to stuff the ballot box when the poll numbers show him being so far ahead anyway.
With that in mind, and the observation that Obama’s campaign is not especially given to doing foolish things (my turn to open up for broadsides!), the simplest explanation becomes (IMHO) provocateurs acting singly or in concert.
Thanks for the serious-minded discussion, I’m really enjoying speaking to a reasonable adult. :-)

                        • ryszard says:

                          GGA,

Do you deny that there were riots in Chicago in 1968 which were incited by leftist radicals?

                        • ryszard says:

                          n8,

It’s all Ema’s fault. She told me to stop calling names. ;)

          • Kelto says:

            >.> then you’re going to have to try harder, hmm? rather than complain all the time…

    • Wammathorius says:

You can always make LOL’s that rip on Obama. If you don’t like it show some initiative.

      • steve says:

I don’t think you are getting the point.

        • GomerPhyls says:

No seriously… go through the voting or upcoming pages. There is a drought of Obama lols there too. If nobody is making them, how can the moderators post them up for us?

          • n8 says:

Quiet, you! There’s a librul conspiracy, and that’s all there is to it! ;-)

          • steve says:

I guess you’re right. I will get to work then.

          • ryszard says:

You’re just not getting the opportunity to see them. They are there, but PK “LOLz” (they are less and less funny these days) are posted much sooner than those on the other blogs. Apparently only tens of votes are counted for PK posts before elevating a LOL to the front page, as opposed to hundreds for ICHC and ICHD.

            • herb says:

Given that a lot of the “jokes” are time-sensitive, I can mostly understand that. Personally I get sick of going to the vote page only to see a deluge of Same Picture/Same Caption/Different Wording, usually of terribly unfunny bits.

              • ryszard says:

The first is a good point, and I agree with you on the second, too.

              • ryszard says:

P.S.: Herb, since you’re here, and nothing to do with this LOL, but on reflection I realize that at core I agree with you about the concept of ‘othering’. I am reading David Carradine’s “The Spirit of Kung Fu”, in which he discusses Taoism. ‘Othering’ is a prime example of duality, the separation of the observer from the observed, which Taoism gently combats.

                Okay?

That said, you can’t base foreign policy and national defense on that. I do have a Buddhist friend who says that he would rather be killed than use violence to defend himself (I didn’t ask what his wife and kids think of that.) Most people are not about to ‘go gently into that good night’; I and they will use every means at our disposal to avoid being murdered, singly or collectively.

So. Ideally and conceptually, I’m with you. In practical terms, not. Hope that helps to unother you and I. 8)

        • DW says:

What’s the point? The people who maintain this forum and vote on LOLz have political views to the left of yours and you don’t like it, so you’re going to whine about it?

          • steve says:

I could see how you see it that way, and i agree with you. I’m whining. But here’s the thing, I don’t even like McCain. I am just curious as to why there isn’t equal opportunity bashing. I am just pointing out the boringness of total, one-sided bashing. Because as a conservative, what’s the point of visiting, contributing, or supporting this sight. It’s the same shit every day. Much more of this and I can see the few conservatives that do visit, not visiting anymore. Then what do you have? A liberal bash on McCain, Palin, or Bush that has comments with no debate. Then maybe it will start being boring to you too.

          • M.... says:

Exactly like the Left whines about FOX

    • Shu says:

pelople make LOLs about sara Palin as well :D

    • Jamieteevee says:

that’s because the only ridiculous thing Obama has done or said is… hmmmm…wait , it’ll come to me. Oh! I know! He worked with that guy who blew up a statue dedicated to people who shot American Citizens! Twice! that’s all I got.

    • somebody says:

I don’t think captions like this are making fun of anybody, really.

I’m sure McCain isn’t really talking to a bush. But the way the camera caught him, it looks like he is, so somebody put a caption on it like he’s talking to a “Bush”. And that makes it funny.

I’ve seen a lot of similar ones with Obama. The camera freezes him in some silly position and somebody puts a funny caption on there that describes what it looks like he’s doing.

NOT what he’s actually doing. I think most of these LOLs that are making fun of the person in the picture are about what that person is actually doing. Many of the ones that aren’t about that make fun of the person, but when it’s not about what’s actually going on, only about what it looks like, it can be funny without making fun, if that makes sense.

McCain himself would probably think this one is pretty funny, IMHO.

  5. Captain Weiner says:

Poor Johnny… maybe you can run again in 4 or 8 more years.

  6. DeathWyrmNexus says:

I’ve noticed something very interesting. There are decent number of people that when confronted with the realities of democracy, cry for socialistic answers. Probably an incorrect observation when viewed on the whole but right now it seems to work.

The idiots in office, when confronted with the realities of capitalism, begged for a socialized loss. On PK, in a deficit of Obama lolz, I see people on EVERY lol complaining that there isn’t balance… Balance is brought on by the votes, not by an authority just picking out lolz.

Granted there might be some sort of actual bias of selection happening but I see similar antics in polls. Are we to expect the polls to be “balanced” to show the reality you are most comfortable with or do we expect democracy to speak?

Just some thoughts to ponder. :D

  7. J says:

Sigh….now he’s talking to plants??? Peachy.

  8. Stephanie says:

…I’m on the fence (though I’m leaning more towards McCain), but this made me laugh.
