    Lol, they deserve it.

    • brewski says:

Campus cops always trying to keep the state cops down.

    • Dcason says:

Ok first of all this is a horrible photoshopped picture from a well over a year ago. and secondly it’s illegal as hell for a campus police or parking enforcement for that matter to boot a official government vehicle. If this ever did happen the person who booted the vehicle would not only lose their job but be arrested.

      • Cyph says:

Havin’ fun… ur doin’ it rong.

      • matt says:

u must not know much about photo shop or computers at that its not a fake it was a prank man, one of the alpha mega what ever did that it was funny as hell, think before u rant on bout stuff bro, things like that can happen kids act stupid when they drink come on

      • rob says:

        Awww your no fun

      • vexact90j says:

        Dude, You FAIL.

      • vanima says:

actually.. it is not a photoshop. it is quite real.

        reason i know this…

        I GO TO THAT SCHOOL.

that round building is Smith Hall.. the building the car is parked in front of is Kirkman Hall.

campus police at my school are off duty state policeman looking to make extra money. in this instance… it was a prank played on them.

        Just a FYI

  2. Vibius says:

So is this an example of a smaller man sticking it to the bigger man?

  3. TragicDemise says:

I am confused by the iv and IV on the tires. What am I missing? :-/

  4. n8 says:

I hated the campus police. All they ever do is hand out parking tickets to broke students. (Or in this case, other police.) Revenue gathering FTW. Protect and serve? Not so much.

    • Simnos says:

The state police are just gonna cut those things off and laugh.

    • Juses is a trad says:

“Other” police? Campus cops are one step higher than a mall security guard.

      • Luibh says:

Not necessarily, in some states, campus police are at the same level as the State police.

        • fuzzy_dragon says:

on my campus they are deputy county sheriff officers… something most students here either forget or never get told about till they head off to county lockup

          • collegekitteh says:

Here on my campus, the campus cops have full police powers. They’re composed of off-duty police officers.

      • purdue student says:

Well, at schools like Purdue, we have our own, fully sworn force of Police just for campus. And they don’t mess around.

      • pet.mousse says:

Hm.. Nothing says Community College like a comment like that..

Don’t feel bad, I went to CC too.

    • kt says:

The student obviously isn’t THAT broke if they can afford the gas to drive the car they are probably still paying for and the insurance to illegally park where they know they could be ticketed or even towed. I went to college for 4 years, yet managed to legally park everytime with a permit I actually paid for instead of bi***ing about a few parking tickets.

      • broke says:

Unless it’s their parents car or paid for by their parents…

      • Jen says:

You obviously went to school in Alaska.

I go to a JC in Cali and DREAM ON about getting parking at 6am or 6pm. You can be 2 hours early and not get parking,

Might as well just take the damn bus

        • froofrou says:

In my case the bus took us from the commuter lot a half a mile from the Ag building and dropped us next to the music building……a half a mile away from the Ag building :-) I was walking for at least half of my time in college. I ended up getting to school (like you said) about two hours early and sleeping until my first class at 8AM. And when you live almost 45 minutes away from the school and your parents or your student loans can’t afford campus living, then that means getting up at 5 every morning just to make it to a decent parking spot :-) I got so many parking tickets on the days I was running late that my diploma got held for a few months until I paid them off *blush*

  5. scum-bot says:

    pwned

  6. Klitch says:

A campus cop here just chased a bicyclist for 4 blocks to give him a ticket for running a 3-way stop sign in a parking lot.

  7. ema says:

Nothing wrong with cops, they have to earn their donuts just like everyone else. Now that they are using more cameras at intersections they can just mail your tickets to you.

    • Brian says:

Actually, the ACLU got it ruled that they can’t legally use those cameras. In Minneapolis, they had to give refunds to everyone who got busted by them.

      • herb says:

It is for reasons like that that I support the defense of civil liberties.

It doesn’t sicken me so much as scare me that there are people that call the ACLU a “terrorist group that needs to be bombed off the face of the earth”.

      • Michael says:

That strikes me as as kind of… bad.
I mean, I’m Australian so I don’t know the details, but I assume they are Red Light/Speeding Cameras yeah?

How on Earth can someone argue that is illegal?

        • Michael says:

Just found the article in question.
I must say, while these guys do a lot of good stuff, I disagree on that one. Yes, they do presume the driver to be guilty of the actions committed by their car. I don’t have an issue with that, it is your car, you should know who is using it, if it wasn’t you, then surely you know who it was, and tell the cops (and if it wasnt your car, get the picture checked).

It’s no different to a police officer doing speeding tickets on the side of the road. He checks the cars speed with his speed gun, if you are over, they send the fine to the owner of the car (assuming you don’t stop and get your ticket).

I do wish they made the prceedure for contesting the offence easier/clearer. I know in Australia they make you pay for the photograph taken if you need it to prove it wasn’t you/wasn’t your car, which strikes me as stupid.

          • Marvin says:

From what I remember, there was a problem with the cameras and a lot of
people were getting tickets for making small movements while stopped at a red light (like rolling forward a bit while you are stopped and waiting for the light to change). As a result, many people who did not actually run a the light received tickets. Too bad it is flawed because it really is a great idea!

            • froofrou says:

They had some problems too with the lights being set to change to red too quickly after turning yellow in order to artificially force a red-light-run.

              • KillerRabbit says:

Here, they found that while the occurence of T-Bone accidents decreased from the cameras, the number of rear end collisions skyrocketed from people slamming on the brakes to avoid running the light. So the total number of accidents actually increased !

              • TheLarrikin says:

Well, yellow means ‘if you can stop, stop’. And if you’re behind someone coming up to a yellow light, you should be aware that they _are_ in front of you. I don’t agree with the lights turning faster, but I’m all for extra eyes on the road – too many idiots driving nowadays (they’re raising the requirements for teenage drivers in Indiana, too, so yay that).

            • PiMan says:

              I’ve seen worse. I’ve seen a handheld camera record a cliff-face as going km/h.

    • matt says:

those tickets they mail u dont have to pay its not legal yet u have to sign a ticket and on it the ticket says u promisse to pay the fine atleast in southtexas i dont know about all the other states everyone has its own screwed up laws made to keep people pumping money into the system its all a bunch of crap like with the insurance, what u want me to pay for liability so some boarder jumper can smash into my car and i get screwed and he walks screw that

      • pet.mousse says:

Dude, you get a ticket, you pay the ticket.. whether you can write your name
or not. I’m from Pasadena, Texas. It’s not screwed up, that’s how it works.
        Everywhere.
Learn to spell your racial slurs.
        And use the spacebar.
        And the Shift key.
And use basic grammar such as pronoun consistency (everyone
has Their own, not its own, etc.) as well as punctuation.
And that you pay liability insurance so that when you hit me and
        it’s your fault, I don’t get screwed over. :)

  8. Tehshay says:

    Damn campus silicone cops.

I teach at a university, and I pay $72 a year for a parking pass to park in the faculty/staff parking lots, which are mostly positioned in worse areas than the commuter students’ lots. I parked in the commuter students’ lot ONCE and got a goddamn ticket.

    • jen says:

Dang! Wish I were you. I teach at a university too and pay $720/yr to park in a structure, and it’s not even just for faculty…students park there too, no reserved spaces, sometimes it’s full and there are no spots to be had due to people taking up 2 slots, etc.

Anyway, agreed – the campus police are true evil. One time I got ticketed for accidentally leaving my parking tag pushed up around my rearview mirror so it was upside down. Not backward, mind you – you could still see the numbers and barcode as long as reading upside down is a skill you have. But a $25 ticket for “improper display of structure tag” for that. At least I didn’t leave it on the seat or something – cars without tags displayed get towed out (no warning/boots due to lack of space), about a couple hundred to reclaim the vehicle.

      • !null says:

I teach at a university too!
…Okay, I lied. I just wanted to fit in. :(

      • Karen says:

Where is this? I don’t want my girlfriend getting a job on that campus! :)

        • Kelly says:

This would the campus of LSU. I didn’t take the picture, that is definitely in front of the music building. This is pretty hilarious to me.

          • Kelly says:

Actually, I think that might be one of the dorms. The parking lot isn’t big enough for it to be the Music Building.

          • gman says:

actually this is at MSU/McNeese not at LSU but you were close

            • fabferals says:

OMG!!!! I agree! This is my alma mater, McNeese State University, in Lake Charles, LA. I should know. I practically lived in that bldg. — the truck is in front of Kaufman Hall. There’s a semi-circle drive I got ticketed in once or twice when late for class. The bldg. on the L is a small round bldg – Smith Hall – cashiers & fin. aid & such, at least when I was there. ROFL!!!!!!!!
Though much funnier if the campus cops had been the ones booted — they were jerks.

        • Magnoire says:

Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, my home town
You don’t want to mess with the LSU Police, they are NOT rent-a-cops!!!

          • Michael says:

That is true. I remember going to their HQ once because my friend Joel had thought his car had been towed, and there at the reception desk behind the bulletproof plexiglass windows more formidable than you’d find at a bank was a veritable arsenal of guns. Then again, the campus police at LSU do have to contend with the large crowds at LSU games.

          • kerry v says:

            It’s not LSU.

            LSU does not boot vehicles.

            LSU tows. everything.

actually, the city of Baton Rouge does not boot vehicles either. BTR tows also.

More likely a school in NOLA or elsewhere.

      • britteny Westphal says:

do you teach at UCSC?! Sounds like TAPS to me..i used to pay 400 to park out in the east/west remote with no sure spot. it was horrible!

        • Justen says:

Seriously. TAPS are a bunch of jerks, and the parking gets worse every
year. I can’t believe how quick they are to ticket. I was parked in a
spot once near my on-campus apartment, ran in to grab a jacket and
a drink, came out and was ticketed. Ninjas! Worst of all my neighbor
always parked in the 15 minute zone, so I never had that chance…

      • Tehshay says:

Yeah, I was gonna say… where do you teach, Harvard?

I teach at a crappy little university in SWVA. Nothing special.

      • Blackpanther says:

At least you have a campus police. And some sort of parking space.

      • matt says:

they just hate there lifes so they take it out on other people

    • mel says:

not to be raciest but coloreds parking in student parking is not allowed around there. segregation by education is in and u are over educated . being that u are a teacher n all…there fore u are the new coloreds. park in your own place, and know your own place. a brave new world at its best.

      • PiMan says:

I can identify at least 2 major problems with this post.
        1) You are racist
        2) You consider teachers to be inferior explicitly because they aren’t.
        And possibly three:
        3) You are assume that your humour will come across correctly over the internet.

        • Tehshay says:

can you translate, Pi? Because I didn’t understand a damn word mel said.

          • PiMan says:

Just take it word by word. Mel’s grammar is not that bad (not that good either), so once the spelling is fixed it should be understandable.

            • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Im starting a nationwide manhunt for this “U” character. He/she seems to
be the major problem in almost every aspect of our daily lives.
At least thats what they say on the internet.

      • Lunchbox says:

Mel, go back to wearing women’s lingerie (raciest?). ‘U’ have proven yourself to be the lowest common denominator in this thread! Your idiotic nonsense simply shows your absolute failure to grasp the english language, grammar and spelling. STFU.

        • pet.mousse says:

          Raciest? *Masturbates*

Not quite the lowest. *See “matt” below, and elsewhere on this thread.

Then realize that matt has just tried to burn Mel.

And laugh, laugh, laugh. Maybe we can get them to fight to the death..

      • matt says:

next time wait till the crack wears off before u try type on the computer buddy

    • dc says:

$72 for a year? wow, where i live, parking is $500 per year or $350 for a crappier lot at the college/university. and that’s for both staff and students.

  9. BubbaHotep says:

I think I’d have a mothertruckin’ field day ticketing the campus puh-leez (if I were a state trooper) after this lil shenanigan… In the college town I live in, the campus po-po haul ass on public roads like they think they’re something. Time to rein in THAT little habit :) And anything else stupid they do on public roads.

    • KillerRabbit says:

I live in a college town and had the absolute delight of watching a city cop pull over a campus cop for running a red light on the main street. I laughed my ass off as the Campus clown tried to talk his way out of it. The REAL cop told him “It ain’t gonna happen!”. LOL!!

      • Lunchbox says:

My state college cops are actually State Police officers, a fact often lost on the students. Think you’re going to just skate off with a warning for weed or underage drinking? Nope. Ignore your parking tickets? Lose your driver’s license!
Plus, they have the hitler-istic attitude of modern-day Napoleans!

  10. Juses is a trad says:

I’m thinkin’ the school mascot should be Underdog.

  11. Scott says:

Actually at the college I went to the campus police were an actual precinct, and had jurisdiction over all other police departments on campus grounds and had powers in excess of average police when it came to the students. So they were by no means “rent-a-cops” as you would expect. :p

    -Taranis

  12. xtraspecialzero says:

I know where that is! First time something local showed up here.

  13. Thaluikhain says:

So…is this an unjust attack by rabid democrats on poor innocent republicans, or an unjust attack by rabid republicans on poor innocent democrats?

  14. Sarah says:

Of course, it HAD to be a Louisiana cop that made the LOLs.
Daggum guy’s giving us a WORSE reputation.

  15. Sarah says:

Anyone know what school this is at, BTW? Looks kinda like Nicholls, but could be LSU or something.

  16. anon says:

Daym! That would be awesome to see at my school XD .

My school has campus police with full jurisdiction AND they contract with a private security company (which, ironically, I also work for XD ). We can tell them apart by the shade of blue on their shirt.

What I wanna know is this: Why… oh WHY is it that the one day you drop your parking pass on the ground when you have to take a different car to school that day the ONE day the campus cops are ACTUALLY doing their job?

  17. Terapyn says:

Campus Cops – I go to The University of Florida… Don’t Taze Me, Bro! ring a bell?

  18. El Ojo says:

At the University of Oklahoma, we’ve got our police department with full arrest powers that’s separate from the city and has full jurisdiction on “state” property. Then we have Parking Services, a completely separate bureacracy with ticketing powers. Then there’s the Community Service Officers, who are your typical rent-a-cops (generally criminal justice students) who patrol the union and what not, who answer to a whole other entity. The library has its own security staff, separate from all of the above, who only answers to the library dean, and most recently, the athletic department has hired its own rent-a-cops, which are — you guessed it — completely separate and answer only to the AD.

  19. ryszard says:

A few years back in Atlanta, the transportation authority announced that it would begin booting cars for staying more than 24 hours in their free parking lots.

After they had gotten a couple, someone booted the authority’s CEO’s car. Despite calling in the FBI (the boot was bought in Philadelphia), they never discovered who did it.

Think about it–who had the chops to elude the Jedgars, and also knew what the CEO was driving? I’ve always been impressed.

  20. Renard says:

I finally got a ticket the other day for not having a parking sticker on my car. I park in the same spot everyday. I’ve been parking in that spot for the past 9 weeks and they’re just NOW giving me a ticket. I might pay it.

    • Jen says:

      Yeah, pay it.

I did the same thing. Had the pass and parked in a strip that was “staff, students after 5pm” but i guess the spot I parked in was for a NON EXISTENT staff member so around mid terms I got a freaking ticket,

  21. SchlagerFuchs says:

Well it looks like they parked in a fire lane.. cop or not you’ll still get the boot for that. Very cool to see some stuff from my state, even if it is cop related.

    -Schlager (Lafayette, LA)

  22. PeaceGirl says:

    Huh.
I’m glad our campus security is so nice. I locked my keys in my car yesterday and the guy popped the lock for me -for free-.

    • Jackie says:

Thats nice. Our campus police was nice too. Once my friends battery was dead and she would have to jump it every time, and they gave her their battery system to use until she could get it fixed. They were also nice to me, it was a hard time up at school (two kids had just died) and I was sitting in my car alone. I was actually on the phone with my mom talking about the deaths, and then came over to make sure that I was alright.

    • mel says:

gee they gave u MY car for free? , how did they know it was your car? did they ask to see title or reg + your id?

    • Fahzbehn says:

Yeah… I’m an alumni and no longer a student. I regularly park in visitors parking. I’ve even showed the campus police my diploma and talked to thier supervisors to try and find out why I keep getting tickets, but they still try ticketing me. Admittedly, they’ve dropped every one they’ve tried giving me, but four in a three month period is unnerving, and the long walk to campus security is annoying.

  23. Dabbler says:

I remember back in the ’70s the campus cops were pretty laid back. One of my classmates, a giant burly Greek, came back from an exam one evening and was so ticked off he tore one of those wooden parking lot gates right off the machine, unbeknownst to him he did it right under the nose of a UCPD cop on patrol. They talked to him and let him go… I guess the tuition at Case covers that sort of thing ;)

  24. Hernandez says:

Everyone must park its cars correctly. No exceptions.
    =P

  25. gdagad says:

HA! For all those times they harrased me, Karma b*#ches! HA HA!!

  26. Manno says:

Campus cops in Louisiana ARE State Police officers.

  27. Deidre says:

This is my university. McNeese State! The photo is NOT photoshopped at all. It is real, and the campus police that work here are Deputy Sherriffs.

  28. Bill The Badger says:

It says a lot for the behaviour of the students if they need to have a full time police service within the grounds. Here in the UK we have basic security guards, and quite often that’s just to stop people getting in.
You only have yourselves, or your predecessors to blame for this situation.

  29. SuperSparky says:

Not possible. The State Police have jurisdiction over all lower law enforcement in the State. Campus Police are subordinate to them. So, all they would have to do is order them to remove the boots or arrest them for impeding an officer of the law.

It’s moot since it’s fake, but should it happen, it all depends on the sense of humor of the State Police.

  30. Chrissy says:

I’m pretty sure this pic was taken at ULM. I got my first parking ticket there. -sigh-

  31. Ryan says:

My step mom is a judge so i see this alot.
