  1. DeathWyrmNexus says:

    Poor, poor schmuck.

    • Now they have an excuse, other than I don’t wanna.

    • Corporal Punishment says:

Traders make an in-depth study of a company. They read all the reports, check their books, check for outstanding litigation, mergers/acquisitions in the works, etc. Then they act out of fear or hope.

I’m glad I spent all my money on women and booze.

Think about it. Think how stupid the average person is. Then realize that half the population is dumber than that

    • hel says:

‘poor schmuck’? There’s a reason why ‘banker’ sounds like ‘wanker’ poor the rest of us who are getting shafted by the global eco crisis… the £ will be worth nothing in 6 months!

  2. What the hell… this one too close to home?

    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Probably. I don’t really have anything I can discuss on it.

      • Kent Wayne Logan says:

        1) Now that he’s living in his parent’s house he can go back to being a democrat?

        2) Reply – “No, I gave that room to a man that wasn’t a total failure.”

        3) Alternatively, something involving the house and the real estate crisis. Or something about crying to sleep at night, because grown men crying is often funny.

P.S. – I am leftward leaning myself and don’t live with my parents, I just really like that joke. Can u has sence of humor??/?

    • Kelto says:

      no, but he will be….

  3. KillerRabbit says:

“No honey- they’re foreclosing on the house tomorrow.”

  4. XCX says:

Heck, I’m not even surprised. I wouldn’t even be surprised if it gets down to the 6K range. The market has been way over inflated for way to long now, like all balloons, eventually the air will run out.

    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Unfortunately that air is our money. X_X

      • Kent Wayne Logan says:

But when you try to breathe money, your voice gets all high and squeaky.

      • Seth says:

Well, this is what gets me. That was never real money, it was a bunch of people pretending something was more valuable than it really was. All this ‘value’ lost in the markets, what was it, exactly? Did factories disappear? Is there another dust bowl? Has anything real been lost? No. Do people not need houses, food, & clothes anymore? Funny, they still do. Are there still enough people and machines to make enough for everyone? Yes, there still are. So, what’s the problem again?

        • cobrajoe says:

All the rich people are losing money, and all the poor people who bought houses they couldn’t afford are having problems paying for them.

Poor schmucks, I don’t play the markets, and I rent an apartment.

        • Mekkis says:

No argument over people pretending real estate & money were more valuable than they really were, but here’s why people are worried:

“Did factories disappear?” you ask. Actually, yes. Most of America’s industry has been moved to third world nations where companies can work people 16 hours a day for 25¢ an hour with no bathroom or lunch breaks. That capital infrastructure still exists, just not in places that are immediately accessible by the U.S. We’ve been importing the majority of our consumer goods for a long, long time now. Since oil is getting so expensive, and our dollar is devaluing faster than a snowflake melts in a blast furnace, it’s going to get quite expensive for us to continue importing our goods; and since our manufacturing infrastructure has been offshored — we’re shortly going to be in “quite a dilly of a pickle”, to use the Depression-era phrase.

Is there another dust bowl? Not here in the United States, but the Great Depression was a global event. In the original depression, the dust bowl affected the U.S. mid-west. It might interest you to know that today, there’s currently a dust bowl plaguing Africa. Furthermore, although the original dust bowl destroyed the food-making capacity of the mid-west, this was only one of a series of factors that reduced the global food supply. There were other states and places in the world that that had crops destroyed by a series of extreme weather weather events (i.e., record freezes and record droughts) just before and just after the market crash of ‘29. This leading to a world-wide food shortage. We’re having the same thing occurring today — extreme weather events destroying entire sections of the global food economy. Don’t you remember all that on the news prior to the market crash about the “world food shortage”?

Sorry to have to shit in your punchbowl, Seth, but there it is. Things are looking pretty grim. If you study the Great Depression, you’ll find a lot of factors that are being echoed today.

          • Seth says:

Most of America’s industry? Where are you getting that? I’ve heard that America’s manufacturing sector has fluctuated between 15-20%, historically, and that it’s at about 16% now. Maybe I’m wrong about that?

      • XCX says:

I have lost over 50k if you look at beginning of the year to now, but I’m not worried. The shares are still there and it will recover in time (which I have). The folks that really should be crying right now are the ones that were planning on pulling the money out of their 401Ks and IRAs in the next year or so, they will feel the pinch.

        • Seth says:

Well, I know that stock value has been impacted, and this will impact anyone near retirement age, but what I guess I mean is, why? There is no physical reason for this downturn, no shortage of anything real. It’s all in our heads, and if an economic system can let the collective imagination of a very few of it’s participants ruin things for the rest of us, it isn’t a very good system

          • DeathWyrmNexus says:

It is the money invested into the companies for shares of their profits. As those stocks fall, so too does the money invested. Thus a lot of capital was lost.

  5. minerva146 says:

Here’s something even more scary than all our money disappearing and having to move back in with mom… Click my name.

They are trying to steal ANOTHER election. I know that’s a blanket statement, and I’d be inclined to disbelieve it myself as it’s so sad, but it happenned in SIX (6!) states!! Too much to be a coincidence.

    • Alcar says:

It really is impossible to make 15 posts without someone throwing the political blame around, even if it’s completely unrelated.

      • minerva146 says:

Pardon me, but there wasn’t a “relevant” thread as yet, seeing as some of the news just came out. However, the economic crisis and the election are closely tied together and having ALL of our votes count should be paramount.

Dismissing my post out of hand was uncalled for.

    • XCX says:

Uhm, I read the article and I don’t see a problem. If you have a system that is designed to remove folks based on a computer program errors will happen. It is up to every single one of us to insure our right to vote. If you find yourself unable to vote in the primaries, you should still have plenty of time to fix it by Nov 4th.

Worried, contact your voter registration folks and make sure you are on the rolls!

  6. Morgan says:

    Okay, that’s pretty funny. I shouldn’tve laughed, but…I did.

  7. Bluenote says:

    Dynamite caption Lol!

  8. Schmoe says:

Yes, but it’s still in New York so the rent is $27,000.50/wk. utilities not included.

  9. Guinny says:

Poor baby. I hope Mom will take him back under her wing and bake pumpkin pie for him.

    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

I would prefer chocolate cream pie or pecan pie as my humility/coming home pie.

      • Guinny says:

Just be glad I didn’t innocently type ‘cherry pie’. Because the danger was very real.

        • DeathWyrmNexus says:

I love it when my girl plays innocent. Then I have to use “force” like the disgustingly evil man I am. She is all smiles today.

          • Guinny says:

Would you please stop that? :( You’re playing into every single one of my kinks and I don’t have an evil man to act them out with ;-)

            Your girl is so lucky!

            • DeathWyrmNexus says:

What? Force, rope, biting, outfits, sexual rp, hair tugging, spanking, a couple other things, those are yours too? Wow, and hear I thought telling you about how I used the Dragonfly sleeve rope method last night while she was dressed as a school girl wouldn’t be teasing. ;)

And thanks love. I aim to please and please and please. :D

  10. Siava says:

    Fabulous caption!

  11. Corporal Punishment says:

  12. Stevie W says:

    That broker, who likely makes $200 K+ a year …if he HASN’T already paid for a house and/or have $1 million+ invested …..is a fool.
