This site was great when ALL politicians were fair game. But the idea of funny now is Barack Obama holding a box of donuts or doing the robot. And for the past month and a half, Biden has been in THREE captions. Seriously, that’s it? I used to enjoy coming here every day…
There is a slant on this site. (I sill believe it’s a cross-section of the LOL-builders, but whatever.)
The issue that I have is more in how quickly people get their undies in a twist if the macro is about McCain. Not every LOL of McCain is a jab at his age — I thought the “I am John McCain and I approve this nap” was cute and nonthreatening.
The Sarah Palin SNL-knockoffs are getting old quickly.
There is definitely a slant to the left (i.e. more LOLs poke at Republicans than Democrats), but I would lay the responsibility as much at the feet of the site admins than just the LOL builders. If you check the pictures available in the “News” section of the LOLbuilder, you’ll see that it’s about an 8 to 1 ratio of Republicans to Democrats.
Fortunately, as a republican, you support the right of the business owner (the admins of this site) to have their own political bias and express it.
Srsly, why don’t you whiners either A) admit the real reason their are few lols at the expense of the democrats is because right now most americans see Obama and Biden as decent leaders, with decent ideas on where to take our country now; or B) go back to Free Republic or whatever right wing echo machine you used to read and whine to one another about the big, bad democratic conspiracy that’s out to get you.

Actually, it was until 1948. The reason everyone thought Dewey was going to defeat Truman was because Truman was the Democratic candidate, and the Democratic party had unequivocally embraced the civil rights movement.
Soon after, the Republican party made a concerted effort to woo the racists who had fled the Democratic party.

I don’t think either of the above posters were suggesting that. Whether PK itself is slanted or they are simply catering to the demographic, I have to agree it would be ‘nice’ to see a bit more equal play from the forum readers. If you go through the voting section, not only is it closer to 20:1 Rep:Dem but the majority are stupid or aren’t factually supported (not that a LOL should disclose this, but you know what I mean) while also not being funny, enlightening, etc… which is really what the point should be of making a LOL.
Let me just add on that people do have the option to upload their own photos.
Uploading pictures requires two things. First, it requires an understanding of technology, which Republicans are too old fashioned to understand. Second, it requires work. Republicans would rather live off their ‘investments’ (meaning, the hard work of others) than work themselves.

But then I see a rash of ignorant right wing rants and I just feel the need to balance it out with some ignorant left wing rants, which let the rest of you debate comfortably in the center. If the rants aren’t balanced, though, pretty soon those rants start looking reasonable, as the playing field gets redefined. Anne Coulter pretty much defined that tactic, so it’s not like I’m being original here. If you guys are going to try to shift the goalposts, I’m going to shift them back.

My observation is that there have been at least some Lols at everyone’s expense (oh noes! No 1 iz safe here!) But aside from the actual *content* of anyone’s beliefs (although there’s probably some potential for Lols there, too), Republicans are a better target to poke fun at, if for no other reason than because they’ve been running the country for close to 8 years now. It tends to be funnier and more satisfying to poke fun at the big shots, whoever they may be. Poking fun at the “little guy” (or gal) is less so — they’re already the underdog, so what’s the point of taking them down a peg? — and tends to come across as mean-spirited.

It shouldn’t matter who is better for the country. It shouldn’t matter what our political views are. Anyone who will let political viewpoints blind them to humor, or make them see it where it doesn’t exist, shouldn’t be on this site to begin with because they clearly don’t have a sense of humor. Supposedly this site is for laughs, not for campaigning. But it sure doesn’t seem that way.
This is the core problem with the site: People vote based on political sentiments they agree or disagree with, not whether the thing is actually funny or not. This is the huge difference between this site and the other sites on the ICHC network, and the reason this site has failed as a humor site, and has instead become a sub-par and cumbersome political bickering site.
Ok, srsly, you are too reasonable to be representing the other side. Please please please try to run for office, or find more reasonable people like yourself to do so. I wouldn’t be so rabidly anti-republican if there were more of them like you! I also wouldn’t mind being the “Loyal Opposition” for a reasonable republican (say, like McCain was in 2000).

This site used to be funny when both Mccain and Obama were made fun of or praised. But now this past week, all I’ve been seeing is nothing but Pro obama, anti mccain, plus half the content isnt even funny anymore. The posters people make are kinda annoying.

If I wanted a candidate to win, I’d prefer lols that support said candidate, not tear him down. Admins are people, too.
