  1. Lolnathan says:

    I’m writing in Hillary.

    • x-bert says:

… funny – looks like English to me.

    • olyvirgo says:

thats the smartest thing i’ve heard in 2 years………..

    • DERP says:

Write-in candidates have to be registered as write-in candidates. You go to your pollster and ask for the write-in list.

Even when you do that, Hillary won’t be on it. She withdrew long ago. Sorry.

      • Not so. Under US law, one can write in anyone’s name. That’s how Mickey Mouse gets so many votes every election.

        • Outlaw says:

Ya, I never understood why someone would waste their vote on Mickey Mouse, Homer Simpson, or Your Mom…..stupid if you ask me, why even bother to go vote and stand in line forever lol

        • justacarolinian says:

I thought that was the results of Acorn.

        • Bluejay Young says:

Admiral Sir John – Actually that is a state thing. In some states write-ins are only allowed under certain conditions. e.g., a candidate has to announce he’s running as a write-in X number of weeks in advance. (Voting system fail)

    • Louis says:

If you write in Hillary thats a vote for McCain basically….Obama and Hillary represent and beleive in the same democratic values…You should still support your number one choice and follow her work in the US Senate , but where we’re at right now I think voting for Obama will do the most good for our country going forward

    • ryan g says:

if you want socailism then vote obama!! food lines and gov runned lives. SOUNDS GREAT!!! we’ll be goose stepping chanting obama in no time!!

  2. exhoicat says:

Obviously, winking just doesn’t come naturally to her. She had to make an effort to get that eye closed.

    Phoney
    Phoney
    Phoney

  3. ema says:

It’s not between her and Obama, is it? I’m pretty sure the Republican’s just decided to throw this election since they knew they wouldn’t have much of a chance winning because of Bush, it doesn’t make any sense otherwise. Maybe they just wanted to save someone competent like Romney for 2012 for when they are sure to win after the mess Obama will make.

    • Lolnathan says:

I predict Obama is going to have a hard time getting re-elected. People have unrealistic expectations. They expect him to fix the country in 4 years? What happens if we end up in another war, or if he doesn’t immediately yank all our troops out of Iraq? What happens if the economy doesn’t improve? Its possible that all these things could occur, regardless of his best efforts.

His supporters are gonna turn on him like a pack of cannibals if he doesn’t live up to the hype.

      • Phaelin says:

Which, no offense to the guy, he more than likely won’t.

      • ema says:

There is no way he will be able to get the troops out of Iraq in the timeframe he is talking about, it’s physically impossible because of the amount of equipment they will have to move. Plus we are going to be moving the troops into Afghanistan but that will be spun somehow to make it look like a good thing.

        • It is never a good thing. It is however, a necessary thing. After all, al-qaeda, operating under the protection of the Taliban, planned and executed an attack against the USA. After 7 years, the taliban has recouped some of their power and are actively working to return to power while continuing to work with al-qaeda. There is no spin involved, a foreign force protected by a foreign nation attacked the USA, this one is not a voluntary expeditionary operation.

        • Christine says:

Except the Bush Admin has already agreed to withdraw the troops, so it would surprise me if things got started before the Bush agreed upon date.

      • Alcar says:

And don’t forget the Bush administration managed to screw up the economy bigtime, and all the voters are going to remember is that it “was so much better when Bush was president”.

        • I don’t know why everyone is blaming Bush for a bad economy. Where I live, the last eight years have been great! There is a building boom the likes of which hasn’t been seen in this town for close to 40 years. The local economy was crap under Clinton, and really crap under Carter (whose policies have been copied near verbatim by Obama). That’s why I keep saying if Obama wins, it’ll be welcome back to the 1970′s.

        • LookItUp says:

Funny how the economy level was setting record highs until the Democrats took over Congress in 2006. Don’t forget the President’s position is mainly a figurehead and voice of the Nation. The real power is in Congress. You have a problem with the way things are going? Blame Congress first. They are the ones with their own agendas. They are the ones that tack on “give Congress members raises” sections onto unrelated bills. Funny thing is – technically they are employees of the American public – not out leaders. Somehow the general population has forgotten that. Makes me sad.

          • Wammathorius says:

You are not the only one who is saddened by that. I explain that to people all the time. I think the problem lies with the people’s interest in politics and how well they are educated on the topic. I was sitting in my POLS class the other day and the prof asked how many people knew who our state senators were, myself plus two were the only ones… SENATORS for crying out loud!

          • nope says:

That actually makes no sense. The reason the economy is skrewed up plain and simple is Bush’s deregulation. It just took a few years for the affects of irresponsible lending practices to take their toll. The way that sub-prime mortgages are structured, people can pay them for the first few years. After that the rates sky rocket and they are foreclosed on. A newly elected democratic congress could not have caused the deep seeded problems that you see in the economy now. It’s a complete misunderstanding of the situation and its severity to believe that that’s possible. Like it or not, irresponsible, deregulated lending practices got us where we are now and it’s gonna be while before we can pull out of it, just like it took us a while to get here.

            • nope says:

also, the reason that it was at record highs in 2006 is because all of that irresponsibly lent money was propping up the economy, creating a bubble that had no basis in the real value of the economy and set us up for the disaster that we’re seeing now. You can’t send good jobs overseas and give everyone poorly paying jobs in the service industry and expect them to be able to afford the standard of living they had in a manufacturing based economy. The only way that people were able to afford homes was through bad lending. I hope now that you can see that this situation is actually quite complicated and we’ve been setting ourselves up for it for quite a while.

      • Cookies28 says:

Obama’s supporters who have half a brain know that he will not be able
to solve all this country’s messes. They know it will take more than 4 years
and they won’t turn on him for it.
This isn’t rocket science for competent people.

      • ck says:

I like how the talking point has moved from “Obama is going to have a hard time getting elected” to “Obama is going to have a hard time getting re-elected.”

        • Uncle Fester says:

This is America and Obama is black. You’d elect a Jack Russel terrier wearing an “I Love Nixon” boater as long as it was classified as white…

Why do you think ‘Redneck and proud’ is a watchword for the square states and places with a population less than a third of London (the one in England, which is that big aircraft carrier you have permanently moored just off the place you seem to call ‘Yooorp’)?

Me, I’m betting on the forthcoming Disney production ‘”Hot” Hockey Mom is VP!’, to be followed rapidly by “Hockey Mom is President Now the Old Guy is “Saved”‘ as opposed to Mel Brooks’ ‘Blazing Saddles: The White House Years’

TBH, from where I sit, I’d not trust one to use a toilet right. There again, I think the last person to go into a place of government with a pure motive was Guy Fawkes…

And she needs to drop the wink. It looks like she’s having an aneurysm. She should let the old guy look like he’s having a stroke

      • Mark says:

Now see, that right there is the strongest argument I”ve heard for voting for Obama.

    • lol says:

Odd, I hear the right talking about Palin more than McCain. Why would that be?

    • Seth says:

Well, the way we Dems ran our last two presidential campaigns didn’t make much sense to me. Not everything is a clever plan. Sometimes political parties just screw up.

    • herb says:

I’m pretty sure the Republican’s just decided to throw this election since they knew they wouldn’t have much of a chance winning because of Bush, it doesn’t make any sense otherwise. Maybe they just wanted to save someone competent like Romney for 2012 for when they are sure to win after the mess Obama will make.

That was my thought (mutatis mutandis) in ’04 with the Media Machine running out Howard Dean and installing John Kerry as the nom. Or, to use a more heinous term: “Dukakising”

      • Nowhere is that first statement more true than here in Chautauqua County, New York. The place is festooned with Obama signs, and there is an Obama office right down the street from me, but there is not one McCain sign anywhere in this entire county, nor is there a Republican campaign office.

        I feel so abandoned…

    • shannon says:

I can’t vote for Obama, but has any one noticed that McCain is such a weak selection that Obama still isn’t running against him? The Dems are running against Bush and Palin!! Conservatives rejected McCain in 2000, and now he’s all we got!! It’s between impotence and communism!! I wish the ticket were “Palin/ McCain”.

  4. Phaelin says:

Two winking lols this close together? Come on PK, you’re slacking.

  5. Green Is Good says:

Okay, what is UP with her and the freaking BLINKING?! That is annoying the shite out of me.

  6. faetal says:

I was all for McCain until he chose this chick…

choosing VP for no reason other than she’s got ta-ta’s = fail.

So, whats a gal to do when she doesn’t like either candidate?
    Drink… that’s what.

    • Lolnathan says:

Vote for a third party or write someone in that you like.

      • faetal says:

        haha, Ralph Wiggam for Prez!

I know, I know… Times like these I thank all that is Holy that the worst that can happen is another 8 years of playing the devil’s advocate

        • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Vote for me. I will bring sexy back… Or at least kink. I will put qualified people into office to get all the work done while I play mouthpiece. Then I will beat them if they screw up. I shall motivate America again… THROUGH BEATINGS!!!

          • faetal says:

which will continue until morale improves I’m sure.

99% of America could use a good old fashioned beating…

            • DeathWyrmNexus says:

I need more exercise and I am glad the American people can help me get it by deserving to be beaten. I might do some beatings on the side after morale improves.

              • faetal says:

Good old fashioned parenting rule of thumb: beat them everyday whether they need it or not… builds charactor.
                >.>

                • DeathWyrmNexus says:

As an avid gamer, I have other ways to teach my son how to build characters. :D

Though I might beat him on principle.

                  • faetal says:

                    oh lord…
                    >.>
                    <.<
                    immagamertoo(gowow)
                    *cough* that was weird.

                    • jellybeans says:

                      wow is soooo last month.
                      GO WAR!!!

                      • Lolnathan says:

Meh, I’m old school. No PvP will ever measure up to Ultima Online, so PvE is all I can really do!

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

UO was NOT PvP… it was a mad gankfest orgy of the likes that ROn Jeremy would say… “No thanks… its too sticky, hot, and annoying in that mess.”

                      • jellybeans says:

oh god … I just said go war …
I suddenly feel the need to hug a tree or something

                        • PiMan says:

                          Rephrase then. Waaaaagh!

                        • DeathWyrmNexus says:

                          I forgive you jelly.

Lolnathan: PVP gets annoying in any game as it ends up being the same builds over and over. So I agree. I would rather lead a team into a nasty and horrible dungeon and come out with low casualties. Now I am remembering my summoner necro from Diablo 2. Good times.

                        • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Summoner Necros from D2… training future presidents to use
                          their underlings appropriately since 2000.

                        • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Oooooh ya… Curse your enemies, send in the flunkies, animate the fallen. God I will be an awesome president.

          • Orangutan says:

            Well, you got my vote.

            • DeathWyrmNexus says:

*shakes your hand and kisses your baby, then beats your neighbor* Thank you, God Bless or if you prefer, Joe Bless.

      • Christine says:

        Mickey Mouse for PRESIDENT!

    • jhuger says:

“So, whats a gal to do when she doesn’t like either candidate?”

It depends. If you want to send the message that you don’t care then stay home. If you want to send the message that you do care but don’t like the choices, vote for a third-party candidate or write in someone.

      • Musicmom870 says:

        Third party candidates, 2008:

Ralph Nader–Independent or Peace and Freedom Party (depending on the state in which you vote)
        Bob Barr–Libertarian Party
        Charles O. Baldwin–Constitution Party
        Cynthia McKinney–Green Party
        Alan Keyes–America’s Independent Party
Charles Jay–Boston Tea Party (Is this for real??)
        Gene Amondson–Prohibition Party
        Ted Weill–Reform Party
Gloria La Riva–Party for Socialism and Liberation
        Brian Moore–Socialist Party USA
        Roger Calero–Socialist Workers Party

      • faetal says:

In case you didn’t notice, it was a joke ahole.

I detest people who are of legal voting age who stay home, those same lazy sh!ts are the one’s doing the most bitching. I will vote, I just don’t LIKE either candidate, I’ll have to eventually pick one of the two evils.

  7. Luke says:

ema, you might have forgotten that there are actually terrorists in Afghanistan, but I guess that doesn’t matter. Is oil so cheap that you have forgotten about 9/11?

    • ema says:

I know there are, that’s why I won’t vote for Obama because I don’t believe he will really address the problem with the strength and decisiveness that it needs. Sure he is yelling about it now because he wants to shame the Bush Administration and get elected. If and when he gets in I don’t have any confidence in him making the right moves there. Oil is cheap?

    • QGFDSD says:

Oh for fugg’s sake, can we stop talking about 9/11 and terrorists already? $hit happens. Let’s all get over it now.

      • jhuger says:

        Fun facts:

Way more Americans die from food poisoning every year than have been killed by terrorists ever.

Most years, more Americans are killed in botched religious ceremonies (mostly exorcisms and snake handling) than are killed by terrorists.

The number of Americans killed by terrorists in my lifetime is about the same as the number of Americans killed by lightning.

        • Jane St.Clair says:

Can I just say, for the record, I love the phrase “killed in botched regigious ceremonies”. I can just picture this conversation. “I’m so sorry about your Grandfather, was he sick for a long time?” “No, he was killed in a botched religious ceremony.”

        • Lolnathan says:

Just curious, where do you draw the line at the number of deaths its okay to ignore?

          • Jane St.Clair says:

Don’t be silly, everyone knows it’s 5 and a quarter.

            • Lolnathan says:

Well I was confused because I thought with the weakening dollar American lives might be worth less and the numbers might have changed, cut me some slack!! :P

              • PortlandMark says:

thought with the weakening dollar American lives might be worth less

Funny story: the EPA puts a dollar value on human life. That way they can make a firm comparison on whether any given regulation will cost more money than the value of the people it saves. New reg saves seventy five million in human death per year but costs one hundred million per? No way!

So anyway, this value was reduced this year by about 15%. Doesn’t make me happy.

        • ema says:

That’s true, but if we ignore terrorism, the amount of people killed will continue to increase. That’s where it would differ from your examples.

          • Guinny says:

Also, terrorists are taking lives on purpose. They’re killers. We’re not letting murderers mosey on down the street, are we?

(God, I hope not. Please don’t say we are. Are we?)

And since when do only Americans count? We’re all living in the same world. Of course a terrorist attack hits much, much closer to home when Americans are involved, but are people saying they really couldn’t care less about dozens of non-Americans killed in terrorist attacks? It’s one of the things I’m proud of as an American, that we help other countries, countries that are less lucky and free than we are.

          • shannon says:

I think they meant that terrorism is not a big deal. It’s the Democratic motto. “so what that 3000 Americans died? Americans die every day. Get over it!”
That’s okay though, the fires of 9-11 still burn in Texas! and as long as one Texan draws breath, they will never die.

      • tell that to the people who lost a loved one to the direct attack on the USA by a foreign force.

    • Callin' says:

      Who are you? Rudy Guilliani?

    • jellybeans says:

According to Palin there are terrorists in this race. Gotta love how she incites the violent responses each time and doesn’t try to quell them at all or avoid them next rally. You have her and McCain whipping the crowds into frenzies where shouting “Terrorist” and “Kill Him” about Obama is cheered and laughed at.
There are unstable people out there that WILL try to act on crap like that. I am not trying to say McCain or Palin want people to try to kill Obama but they aren’t frowning on the people at their rallies who are suggesting it. And they aren’t cutting those lines of the stump speeches that provoke the response.
      That is dangerously irresponsible.

      • Lolnathan says:

Yeah their current strategy of “Oh, Obama is actually Osama Bin Laden in disguise” is pretty lame.

      • Guinny says:

I agree. I think Palin and McCain have a responsibility there that they’re not taking. They’re starting to lose me with their constant attacks. Not that they actually HAD me, but I was on the fence, and now I’m leaning towards the Dems.

They’re just trying to distract the voters from the financial crisis, and boy, will that ever not fly.

  8. DeathWyrmNexus says:

She just does NOT have a face for winking… *shudder*

  9. Wilko says:

    Mavricks

  10. Erin says:

    Really…all I can say is… WIN WIN WIN! :D

“Nucular”- I cringe when I type it
    “*wink*”- …ew
    “Theenks, but noh theenks”- annoying
“…not from the White House…”- Who wants an inexperienced soccer mom in office?

    Win.

  11. Erin says:

    Thank the “Soccer mom”! ;]

  12. kalinakka says:

“I predict Obama is going to have a hard time getting re-elected. People have unrealistic expectations. [...]
His supporters are gonna turn on him like a pack of cannibals if he doesn’t live up to the hype.”

I don’t think so. Most people are well aware of the utter devastation eight long years have wreaked on this country — on our economy, our military, our reputation in the world. People don’t expect Obama to it up in four years any more than they expected FDR to do it in four years when they elected him in 1932. The country was still in Depression in 1936; yet FDR was re-elected. People felt he had given the country hope and movement. Anyway — who do the Republicans have for 2012 who’s going to look like he (or she) is competent to do the job? Sarah Palin? You jest.

  13. Steve says:

ANYONE else thinking Lucille on Arrested Development?

  14. Phaelin says:

And I suppose one of the newest lol’s will be about McCain’s use of “That Guy”. That’s the bug topic buzzing around Twitter right now anyway. If it is, then this site really has degraded.

    • ema says:

You mean “That One”? I missed McCain saying that – sounds like a big mistake on his part… rats. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing.

      • herb says:

It would have been a less damning moment if he followed the reference to Obama as “That One” with the reference to himself as “This Guy”.

As in: “Who voted on [Anti-Obama Talking Point #35]? That one. Who has two thumbs and voted on [Pro-McCain Talking Point #48]? This guy.”

  15. Christine says:

This is what a pit bull with lipstick looks like.

    • NObama says:

I think that would be Hillary .

      • Christine says:

Because Hilary was the one that made that statement? No.

I was making a joke, because it looks like Palin is growling, like a dog was and she has been known to say, “What’s the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom? Lipstick.”

  16. chris_trapper_fan says:

WIN!!! Well not a win for her campaign but a definite win on the caption!

If I have to see her wink one more time or give another “SHOUT OUT” or if I have to hear McCain talk about his service to his country (not that I am dissing it … took a lot to do what he got thru but do you have any thing ELSE to talk about? I was in the military myself so I am very pro-troops) and talking about “having a steady hand on the tiller” I am gonna lose it.

    • shannon says:

Funny……….his problem has always been that he never mentions it. EVER. Those around him have to do it for him. And I thought the left was saying that a Vietnam vet was the ONLY person qualified to be the president?

  17. Kurt says:

Too bad there isn’t another VP debate. I was going to play the palinism drinking game. Every time she says you betcha, you’re darn right, hockey mom, joe six pack or winks, you take a shot.

  18. meep says:

Conservabots must give the illusion of humanity by blinking.

  19. michelle says:

    her face looks contorted.
