Tired joke but I still lol’d and first. :P

    • n8 says:

I think at this point we’ve said all there is to say about Palin. Unless she does something new and notable, I think this well has run dry. I suspect McCain will keep her in lockdown except for rah-rah gigs, where nobody will ask her anything difficult.

      • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Sadly, I think you are right. We won’t see the full extent of her idiocy or possible lack of idiocy until they are elected which by then would be too late. Same goes for Obama but he doesn’t strike me as an idiot.

        • cobrajoe says:

Well that is where we differ. I do see Obama as an idiot. Well, I guess he seems more like a self-entitled brat that will fight extremely dirty behind your back but lie about it completely to your face. Biden seems more like the idiot. I think Palin is a great choice, even if I wish she had a bit more experience (especially with the media).
Now, shall we take bets on how many posts will follow and try to tell me that I’m a complete moron based on this comment?

          • DeathWyrmNexus says:

            Have fun with that.

          • Stephanie says:

I agree with you, even though I really don’t like either of the Presidential candidates. I’m almost sick of coming on the website because most of the “political humor” is actually underhanded bashing.

            • Musicmom870 says:

LOL, Stephanie! You just agreed with the guy who said Obama was an idiot, then said:
” I’m almost sick of coming on the website because most of the “political humor” is actually underhanded bashing.”

(guess it’s Monday where you are, too!)

          • random says:

hey, actually i totally agree with you, i wish more people saw it like that :)

          • christina says:

Obama is not an idiot, nor is he self-entitled. His confidence is earned. He has a superior intellect but he comes from a modest background. He went to elite schools and excelled, rising above many who did come from privileged homes. Why would anyone would not want such a brilliant person to be our President? I think America deserves the best.

          • John says:

You ARE NOT a complete moron; just horrible mistaken.

          • deb says:

I totally agree with you, cobrajoe.

          • ema says:

            I also agree.

          • noahr93 says:

dont worry joe, we dont all think you are an moron
i do but not everybody :)
            Obama 08

          • Carol says:

Obama an idiot. WOW, you clearly haven’t done much reading. He’s probably the most intelligent candidate we have ever had run for President. Self-entitled….think again. He has worked for everything he has which is what makes him so unique and appealing. We are Republicans and we are embarassed by McCain/Palin. Talk about ignorant! I don’t think you are a moron but I think your statement is really off because an idiot Obama is not. Hes extraordinarilly bright….give credit where credit is due here. He’s also real and committed to making a difference as opposed to McCain who really does feel he is owed this election.

          • Yeahokay says:

Ladies and Gentlemen… I give you… JOE THE PLUMBER! Joe the Plumber everyone, wasn’t he a great strawman!

      • They’re going to keep on her on a VERY short leash~ She will speak her rhetoric to her own kind but that is all you will see from her I think~ Could be wrong but i doubt it.

      • Jamieteevee says:

How difficult is ‘What papers have you read”. She could have said ANYTHING.
Oh, I know.. She was asked about education in her job interview on Friday and she told the people who are hiring her “I may not answer the questions that either the moderator or you want to hear”. Actually, I DO want to hear an answer. She might have been able to prove me wrong. I might have changed my mind about her. Not terribly likely since she seems bent on taking my rights away. She has made it clear that she wants to take my sister’s rights away. Her only actual answers to real questions about herself are how she will limit us and not about how she will advance us in any way.

        • Stephanie says:

I think she said she was taken aback by the theme of the question in another interview; the reporters made it seem that because she was living in Alaska, she was separate from the world. I’d be quite sick of it too if I had to deal with what she does on a regular basis.

          • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

Deal with… what? Scrutiny and criticism that EVERY other politician has to go
through? McCain’s been slammed, Barack’s been slammed. They all get slammed. Its not anyone’s fault but her own that she gives everyone so much ammunition to use against her. You cant play the whole “Oh pity me” card when you ACCEPT a position. You know full well whats going to happen to you, your family, your church, your friends, your views, and you recognize the consequences of every single thing you say can possibly be twisted and used against you. This is politics, this is how it works. And if you didnt know that. You should get… the… hell… out.

            • cobrajoe says:

Family, church, friends, and views? That lists nearly everything that some people question about Obama, but it seems that no one has seemed to investigate his past. In the mean while, there is a team of 20 lawyers in Alaska tracking down Palin’s past, and there was a news team that went to Vietnam to interview McCain’s prison guards.
It seems that the only ones taking Obama’s past in to question in front of a camera are the Republicans.

              • froofrou says:

The ‘interview’ with the prison guards was a joke. The guy actually said he didn’t torture McCain, but that they were friends at the end of the day and sat together and played cards and spoke English. *sigh* This is what passes for journalism in the United States.

  2. Tairii says:

    New jokes please.

  3. IateurcheezeburgerBarry says:

    Needs to be more creative

  4. criskit84 says:

    Touche pundit kitchen.

  5. Bee Mee says:

to the moon Sarah to the moon

  6. Lolnathan says:

Can we stop posting the same 3 lols? Might as well start captioning every picture with “i can has cheezburger?” or “invisible humor”.

  7. jagenigma says:

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN”T STOP LAUGHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Lolnathan says:

And this, ladies and gents, is why we almost never get anything legitimately funny on this site. You can just put a picture of a politician up, caption it with anything, and the half of the country that doesn’t like them will sh*t themselves laughing.

  8. chez says:

Somebody had to point that out I suppose. I just wish it had been at the VP debates.

  9. um says:

If we stop using this joke, then the terrorists win.

  10. rick says:

…but can she see a brothel?

  11. AC says:

    Eh?
    Dinnae get it.
    Explain?

  12. D'oh says:

This joke comes waaaaaay to late and this is reaaaaally old, but I still lolled :P

  13. someone says:

    old but fu***** hilarious

  14. Pirate77 says:

Yeah, way to go liberal morons! Bigger joke: your little bailout sure seemed to work!

  15. Daft Punk says:

    *yawn*

  16. scum-bot says:

i think we need something weird or really stupid to happen in order to get new jokes.

    • imo says:

This is the bad thing about comedy, I think. It tends to make us into jackals feeding on the misery and stupidity at large. And then we get bored with the bones of the issues and dismiss any positive course of action that might come from discussion.
But hey. Who am I to stand in the way of people laughing at shit on the internet? We are the masses at the coliseum. Bring on the fresh meat, somebody.

    • raelalt says:

      Tomorrow night?

  17. Yo mama says:

The thing is she CAN’T see russia from her house.
She would have to swim across the Bering strait if she wanted to see russia!
And she doesn’t even live near the west coat of alaska.
She is from wasilla, and seeing as to how she is the governor she probably lives in Juneau.
Both of which are very very far from russia.

    • Jane St.Clair says:

WOW!!! Thanks for explaining that to us, I was sooooooo confused!!!

    • Musicmom870 says:

She never actually said she could see Russia from her house, Tina Fey said that in a parody of Palin’s interview with Katie Couric. Palin said she had foreign policy experience in part because you can see Russia from Alaska. (Not that she had ever bothered to look.)
She also said they had trade missions with Russia, (which they couldn’t find any records of during her tenure as governor). The previous governors had trade missions, so I guess she’s qualified because she could have gone on trade missions to Russia.

      • M.... says:

        Just like Obama ?

        • froofrou says:

In defense of Obama (OW! BRAIN HURTS), he’s never been a governor. Or the leader of anything that would require him to make trade missions.

          • Spanky says:

Soooo, they are both just as unqualified ?

            • froofrou says:

Fortunately, one of them is only running for VP, not the leader of the free world.

              • anon says:

‘leader of the free world’. arrogance much?
if you are the leader of the free world, why doesn’t the rest of the free world ever get to vote?
and she’s basically running for president…. come on… Mccain is over 70 years old and has a history of aggressive cancer and shows symptoms of PTSD. You know he won’t be running the show for long.

                • froofrou says:

Doesn’t matter. What matters is that she is not the name at the top of the ticket, and Obama’s is. If Biden were at the top then we’d have a different discussion to have. And as far as ‘leader of the free world’ is concerned, at one point in time ‘the sun never set on the British Empire’, and on top of that, the US is one of the only countries in the world to give back conquered territory. If we kept the land that we had wrested from the hands of dictators inthe last 200 years, we’d be much bigger than we are now.

                  • bagnew says:

Wow… so America is the Leader of the Free World because England had an empire, and because America has returned captured land? As an Australian, how does that give your country leadership of mine, or is Australia not part of the free world now?
Please, lose your damn arrogance. America is the leader only of those areas owned by America, not any other part of the Free World. Or maybe I just missed that event recently in which Australia and the rest of the free world gave over leadership to America, but I’m guessing I would have heard of that.

                    • froofrou says:

Figure of speech, people. Geez. It could mean that America is a standard by which all other countries tend to follow, thereby making it a leader. Which has been true in the very recent past. *pats out flames on shoulders* It’s a figure of speech the same way that the sun never set on the British Empire.

                      • bagnew says:

No, I think that Australia at least is not following America. The only way in which we’ve ‘followed’ America recently was in our inclusion in the invasion of Iraq, something the majority of the Australian people disagreed with. Other than that, we’ve been following some pretty different paths, rather than supposedly looking up at America for guidance. We’re fine on our own, thank you.

                        • froofrou says:

Never got specific in the countries I mentioned. In fact, I didn’t mention countries, and I believe that my exact quote was “it COULD mean.’ Historically, other countries have looked to the United States as a place to aspire to be, especially in second (is there such a thing?) and third world countries. Australia is not considered one of those, so it’s no wonder that your country would not follow the American model. You’re picking a pretty small thing out of my original post to pick a fight over, especially considering the topics of most of these flame wars on PK :-)

                        • PiMan says:

bagnew: we followed the US in many ways. And many of them were disliked by the majority of the people. It mostly started when Bush got into power, and has largely wound down over the past year. It was a significant part of Howard’s legacy.
We followed their lead in war, in terrorism laws, in some economics, and more.

                        • PiMan says:

It is worth noting that US culture has a large effect on our lives, and history may one day see the world map of the early 21st century as being vastly different to what it is today.
Maybe 500 years from now, the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand will all be seen as one nation. In a similar way as the Holy Roman Empire are seen as one nation today, even though it was actually a collection of a large number of Germanic and Italian nations.

                        • bagnew says:

Ahh yes… Howard… Well, that’ll teach me to type when half-asleep.
Well, I’ll shut up now… I’ve misrepresented enough facts, I see.

                      • lol says:

There are other countries that have more freedoms than the US. Check out the Human Freedom Index.

                    • Lolnathan says:

                      Hey uptight oz guy:

Calling the US President “leader of the free world” is a common thing to do in the US. And this site primarily focuses on American politics. Get over it.

                • PiMan says:

I phrase it differently. I say, ‘since the USA is lead of the free world, why don’t we get a vote.’

                  • cobrajoe says:

Maybe the United States of America is the only “Free” country in the world?

Then the term “Leader of the Free World” actually only means “Leader of the Free Part of the World”

Too bad it’s fairly expensive to live here…

  18. Dez_Turkisch says:

………..so like, and this may just be me, but has anyone else noticed the inordinate amount of glasses this woman seems to have? I’ve noticed maybe twenty different pairs on her…. just curious *hides in a corner*

    • Rorsc says:

Optical makers are probably giving them to her and paying her to wear them- sorta like giving shoes to basketball players, for the commercialism of it.

  19. Lolled says:

Okay after all the whinge, whine, complain of the everyone and this website unfairly hates mccain/palin

that was definatly some funny lolling

  20. karen says:

it is sad that you get your new from Saturday Night Live. Good luck with a sophmore senator for president. Its gonna BE GREAT!!!!!!

  21. vietplus says:

Đm chúng mày, bầu cho thằng nhọ làm đéo gì

  22. ehutch says:

mccain would have made a inadequate president and palin a incompetent back-up. anyone who thinks obama is stupid is only showing their own ignorance, agree with him or not, the man is highly intelligent. mccain is not much smarter than bush. why dont republicans think intelligence is important for a president?? you conservatives are naive and thats putting things nicely. lets pray president obama can help to dig us out of the huge whole bush and the republican party have created for us. or are you gonna say clinton did it, lol. limbaugh is already blaming obama and he has yet to take office. you people are pathetic and your own leaders lie to you on a regular basis.

    • iEatCrayons says:

Not as grammatically correct as I’d have put it, but thanks for traveling to the future and stealing my post.
