Good George
(George W. Bush & George Washington)
picture: dunno source, via our lol builder. lol caption:
Needs more Orwell for “worst George.”
Or better yet, George Wallace. (Click my name if you don’t know who he is.)
George of the Jungle? George Costanza? George Steinbrenner? Georgie Girl? Maybe we need a column chart for relative badness of George’s?
Or could this be a trend that could predict badness of presidents named George over time?
Only if it’s an exponential growth, because George Bush (#41) was bad, but not halfway between George (#1) and George (#42).
This sounds like a job for… Lol Graphs!
way ahead of you haha hopefully it get’s put on there, we shall see
Boy, I’m gonna slap you in the face! He’s a great author!
I think a better caption would have been:
“$1 bill” “$586 billion bill” (approx. cost of Iraq war)
haha GENIUS!
Khaaaaan (sp?) you’re welcome to recaption it, y’know.
Bush looks really bad in that picture. He looks sad, and worried. I wonder when the picture was taken. I don’t think his presidency turned out like he thought it would. He looks like he realizes his legacy will be as one of the worst presidents ever.
As much as it pains me, Seth, I just may have to agree with you.
If it helps, this picture actually makes me see him as a human being, not some evil conservative demon, and I feel sorry for him. He had everything handed to him his whole life, he never had to feel like a failure, because daddy and friends always bailed him out. Now he’s finding out what failure really feels like, and at his age, that’s not something you want to have to find out for the first time.
Definitely, I always thought him a puppet of Cheney which just sucks in general.
Seth, I hate to say it, but you’re just sounding ridiculous now. In whose book is 8 years as President of the United States considered a failure? Anyway, you could at least pretend to be a sane rational person instead of pretending you’re “Mirror Universe Evil Pundit”. Anyway, see my post below.
Do not make fun of my Obamatrons ! I pay them well !
Go away… no one’s fooled.
Then again he can still say he was President of the United States for two terms, which is more than most Presidents can say. And certainly more success than anyone here will ever see.
Hard to be sad about that, I imagine. Think of all the countries he has been able to visit, important people he got to meet, the challenges he has faced. It probably makes for the most interesting and exciting 8 years of his life. I’d rather be the worst President than the best burger flipper at McDonalds.
But as I’ve said before when this subject has come up, there are many unpopular Presidents who went on to be considered average in the long run. No offense Seth, but Presidents are almost always viewed radically different in hind sight by scholars than they are by their contemporary opponents, and an approval rating plummet in the back half of a second term doesn’t mean much in the long run.
Worst President ever? Maybe to his contemporary critics such as you or I, but when he ends up in the mix with all the other previous Presidents, I imagine he’ll be middle of the pack. Which is low for a two-term President since they tend to rank highly. He’ll still be miles ahead of Nixon, Carter, Tyler, Hoover, etc.
But ultimately, it’s all about what the history books will say about you. And I think history will be very, very unkind to him and his administration.
I think even in light of previous Presidents, he still ranks as the worst. For so many reasons that we all know about already, and have been written about a thousand times already. Starting with the fact that he stole the first election….and it just got worse and worse from there….what other President stole the election with the help of his friends and family??
Flew all of the Bin Laden family out of the US in the hours after 9/11. Never questioned any of them. Invaded Afghanistan and still haven’t found Osama. Invaded Iraq illegally on the basis of looking for WMDs (NOT to bring down Saddam)…and we know the rest where Iraq is concerned….
Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld…..
Does an inability to speak coherently without scripted notes at every opportunity count?
The world views the USA with contempt rather than respect. This has happened largely in the last 8 years due to Bush foreign policy.
And W’s final present to the world….a crumbling economy.
Bush Jr should have been impeached or stepped down a long ago. But the era of accountability has gone. Nixon stood accountable and stepped down.
I don’t think for a second he’ll be “miles ahead of Nixon, Carter, Tyler, Hoover”, or anyone else.
He will be judged the worst, and he will deserve it.
The problem is your little Michael Moore conspiracy routine doesn’t even get any traction in the present. You think history is going to include conspiracy theories? It won’t even include half the stuff he ACTUALLY did wrong.
Have you even taken a US History course?
Oh, and before you suggest it, he didn’t mastermind the 9/11 attacks either. Neither did Cheney, or Rove.
Which parts are the conspiracy theories? And let’s address one another with respect everyone. People can have their persuasions without being shouted at.
And I wouldn’t for a second suggest anyone masterminded the 9/11 attacks other than Al Qaeda. THAT is a conspiracy theory.
Let’s start with the “stealing the election” part. As I recall, it was a juvenile lawsuit battle over who won what, caused by incompetence and senility on the part of old retirees in Florida.
Am I wrong here?
What about the wrongful disenfranchisement of innumerable voters, largely African American, in Florida?
I certainly don’t recall anything untoward being linked to the Bush Campaign, but if my recollection is wrong feel free to correct me. Florida is always having severe problems with voting irregularities, I think the problem is Florida, not Bush or the Republicans, or anyone else. They just don’t have any clue what they are doing down there.
The US Commission on Civil Rights issued a report in 2001, following huge irregularities and complaints after the 2000 election. It makes for interesting reading.
I don’t buy into conspiracy theories, I prefer facts.
And I’m not American so I haven’t studied US History, but I do have a passion for the USA, having lived and worked there in the past (in fact I was there when 9/11 happened), and I want the best for the US. It’s a spectacular country.
Which I guess is why I don’t like George Bush much. I think you guys deserve a better leader and a better administration.
Thank you. That’s very kind-hearted of you.
If you prefer facts then I suggest looking again at the charges you made about flying the Bin Laden’s out of America. Untrue. Also, GWB was in talks for many months with the UN about the 15 or more violations of UN policy that Sadaam had made and they all supported the initial strike against him.
But thats not the basis for WHY we went in. Ive stated it multiple
times that if Bush had simply Said “Saddam’s a bad guy, he screws
people over, we’re going to rid the world of him and set up Iraw
as a democratic nation.” The UN would have backed us. But thats
not what he brought before the UN. WMDs were the reason, and
much like the folks on here claiming Obama is a terrorist and a
muslim, W was misinformed, and wrong.
Iraq*
Good lord, when are they going to fix these comment boxes so
we can SEE what we’re typing?
The UN DID back us, and Clinton said he had WMDs.
The UN only backed the US after they went in. It was very shortly after, but definitely after.
Being in office alone is not considered success. By that logic sitting in the white house twiddling your thumbs for four years is successful. It’s about what you do while you’re there. Yes, he’s more successful than people who are not president, but in comparison to the other 42 presidents he is certainly not on the top of the list.
I feel bad for him too, I really believe he’s a good guy who’s just been led horribly astray.
I agree that our opinions of people change over time, so perhaps he won’t be considered the worst president ever after some time has past, but I still think he will be one of the worst. Of all the things he’s done, “No Child Left Behind” is probably the only successful policy he promoted and even that is highly controversial and hated by a lot of education experts. On everything else he has either promoted a failing policy or failed to act at all.
So, by the time we’re dead and buried old Dubya will be canonized a saint, eh?
In spite of the fact that his administration wiped their collective ass with the Bill of Rights, abused the power of the office and sidestepped the very foundations of the United States. Not to mention lowered the standard of living for everyone but the uber-rich. And just which super conglomerate do YOU own?
It just ain’t funny no more, McGee.
Ooo disagreed with THAT really
I rather be loved by lots of people because my burgers are so good, then being hated by intere countries! Sure the first job pays less, and doesn’t make you famous, but at least you’re appreciated
He just found out Condi won’t be his myspace friend either. Poor guy, I think he needs a hug.
You got a customer waiting to check out there at Barnes and Noble ! Get back to work !
wherez teh senior?
“I’m bad George. You’re GOOD George. You’re goody little two shoes. Goody little two shoes, goody little two shoes…”
“Good, bad, I’m the Cheney with the gun.”
*bows before the better quote*
You set me up for it. And after I posted it, I was thinking “I’m the Dick with the gun” would’ve been better.
Meh.
Good show, anyway! *claps for DWN and myself*
*claps* Bravo! Can’t go wrong with deadites and Ash!
Bad George = Retarded George
Some nice chatter in the outfield on this one! As far as the picture goes, I believe that are more of the “Sad George” pictures on this site because of a natural bias of the uploaders of the pictures. I.e. if you are anti-Bush, you’re more likely to upload a pic that makes him look stupid or pathetic. Now, on to history, I think that he will be remembered for leading the country after 9-11 and the war with Iraq. That’s it. Honestly, how much do we remember about what Calvin Coolidge, Chester Allen Arthur or Whatshisbutt Garfield did?
In bed
“natural bias of the uploaders of the pictures. I.e. if you are anti-Bush, youโre more likely to upload a pic that makes him look stupid or pathetic”
And if you’re an American there’s about a 90% chance you’re anti-bush. If you extend that to all people, there’s about a 99% chance of you being anti-Bush. If you’re a person who is able to operate a computer, it moves to about 99.9999%. The maths for why there are so many anti-Bush lols is not that hard to grasp.
His numbers aren’t that low. Mid 20’s, I think, which means at best America is 75% anti-Bush
The rest of the math tracks.
Wow….I actually felt kinda sad for him when I saw his face in this picture.
Guess he really is human.
George Washington is good? Someone doesn’t know their history. If anything he’s somewhere in the middle. Maybe “slave owner” and “American terrorist” would work better for these guys.
Man, Its like a symbol for the breaking with principle. It may as well have been a picture of the altered bill of rights from America2014. Seriously if youve ever wondered how far we’ve come read this book realize how similar our reality is to the classic Orwell book 1984…. and be scared. Think about how controlled we are, think about how far we’ve come from respecting our most important national documents. Its crazy there isn’t public outcry… read the alter bill of rights at least… at http://www.America2014.com
Dumb liberals, and yet they havnt realized Obama hasnt done anything he said he would. (like shut down Guantanimo Bay)
I’m charro, and I approve this timely message.
PS, this picture was posted before Obama was elected, moron.
