    I wouldn’t.

  2. Alex-X-x says:

grr now i know who stole my car!

  3. Lallz says:

I wanted too but the democrats stole them.

  4. DoctorWorm says:

These aren’t political toons anymore. At least label them as liberal cartoons.

This is especially a funny one because Obama is advocating a turn to socialism, if not outright communism, to improve our economy. And you people are supporting it. Hilarious. I serve the Soviet Union, General Secretary Obama!

    • bob says:

2 things wrong with this theory:

      1) you really have proven yourself to be a closed minded idiot
      2) these PICTURES are not cartoons, genius

      • DoctorWorm says:

I’m a close minded idiot for learning my lessons from history? Taking money and giving it to the proletariat is the same thing Lenin told the Russian people he would do in World War I. Obama is basically saying the exact same things are wrong with our government that Marx said was wrong with every capitalist government. You can’t see that because you’re too because cheering when Obama says “CHANGE!”, because you’re a close-minded idiot.

Yes, I apologize. I used the wrong word. I was thinking of that website that died a few years back, political toons. Of course, “bob”, I’d rather get a word wrong than get an entire line of thought wrong. But it’s ok Comrade, we’ll all be a part of the revolution soon. Popular front!

        • wut says:

          Your strawman is funny.

        • PiMan says:

Obama is supporting welfare, not communism. Taxing the rich a bit more and the poor a bit less (along with many other policies) is just making sure that the poor have the ability to live in situations that wouldn’t be described as squalor.
If you earn more money (gross) you will still earn more money (net). Obama won’t change that, no Democrat will.

          • Obviously, you haven’t been listening to the Barack Hussein Obama I have. At best, his policies are clones of the ones Jimmy Carter used to wreck the economy in the late 1970’s. At worst, they’re far too close to those advocated by Vladimir Ilyich Lenin in the 1910’s.

This is not merely taxation. It is reallocation of wealth.

If the Democrats actually said what they truly want, NOBODY would vote for them.

            • PiMan says:

Any particular reason you would need to waste time by typing Obama’s full name?

But regardless, Obama supports increasing taxes on the rich. Which I also support.
Obama supports universal health care. Which I also support.
Obama supports environmental standards for industries. Which I also support.
In fact, I support most (but not all) of his stated policies.

I don’t believe in communism. It is at best a pipe dream, and
it is at worst an open invitation for dictatorship/corruption by the rich and squalor for the majority.

              • herb says:

Obama doesn’t support true universal health care. He’s about universalizing health *insurance*. He’s he’s lousy at this whole Socialism bit.

I find it funny that welfare for the many (to wit, the poor) is bad nasty communism, but welfare for the few (to wit, multibillion dollar companies) is just support the healthy free market.

                • froofrou says:

You guys are still operating under the assumption that republicans as a whole agree with this stupid bailout (oh, I’m sorry, RESCUE). WE DON’T. It’s an awful idea, and it’s going to take the country down with it. Let the damn bank go under and reform as something better, as things have been doing since the dawn of time. I can say that I’m going to get a list of everyone from my state who voted for this stupid thing and am going to campaign against them every chance I get……….

                  • herb says:

Again, not this particular bailout per se, but corporate welfare has been a staple of Republican Canon for years now (just not on such a grand and vulgar level).

                  • Anon says:

Bail out that the republicans tried to prevent several times, but the
Democrates had to go with that stupid subprime lending and lets
give everyone a loan. Even those that can’t afford it and will default
on their payments and eventually file for bankruptcy.

Good going there! The Democrats really called that one!

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want a Republican in office, in the beginning
I was all for Obama, I was brainwashed like everyone else, however,
getting down and really digging into what he stands for. He is a socialist
at best, a communist at worst.

                • PiMan says:

I must have misunderstood what I was reading. But nonetheless, I support most of his policies, just a matter of striking health policy off that list.

        • as opposed to taking money from the poor and working and giving it to the rich, which is’ i don’t know, MR. Finance Expert, you tell us — “FREE MARKET?”

          • Then what do you call Welfare, Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Social Security?

Last time I looked, all those GAVE money to the poor and working. Ang guess who pays for all of those: the rich.

You might want to try learning economics 101 before you throw around THAT paintbrush.

            • herb says:

              Kettle:

              You’re black.

              Yours affectionately,
              Pot

            • blah says:

Don’t bother, John. If they think taxing the rich does anything but hurt the poor, they’ve already bought into the class-envy thing hook line and sinker. If people want to help the poor then cut taxes on the rich so they can hire the poor and redistribute their own wealth in a mutually beneficial manner instead of trying to play Robin Hood.

              • ck says:

Yes, because those who are wealthy would never just pocket the extra income and get wealthier!

                • blah says:

If you raise taxes they hide the money away so they don’t have to pay for it. Then everyone loses.

                  • ck says:

And if you lower taxes they’ll magically stop doing that? wtf?

                    • blah says:

Yes, they will. There are far better ways to make your money grow if you’re not busy hiding it from the tax man.
                      -
                      Here’s a hypothetical:
Say I’m a millionaire, I’m not working to earn an income, all my money is coming from investments. Say (at random) I have $1000 a month to throw around (not a realistic number, just going for easy math here). The tax rate will say is at 25%, so I’m paying $250 in taxes (because you only pay on *income* – my millions are untouchable and for teh example we’ll just say they’re sheltered away somewhere). You cry “That’s not fair! You’re not paying your fair share!” and the Obama Money Fairy floats down and increases my taxes to 50%.
Now my income hasn’t changed, it’s still $1000. I take half of that and put it in a tax-free fund (like an IRA or something). So now I’m *still* only gonna pay 50% of my taxable earnings (the $500 that’s left) so I’m not paying a dime more than I was at $250. But I only have $250 dollars play money instead of $750 to throw around, so I’ll not be going to McDonald’s as much, or hiring a new guy to cut the lawn or whatever.
Therefore, you attempted to make me pay “my fair share”, and instead cut the profits of McDonald’s and snubbed some poor guy that’s gotta find a lawnmowing job elsewhere. Nice goin’, jerks. Picking on the little guy like that who you’re supposed to care so much for.

                      • froofrou says:

You can’t use an argument like this to sway the people who are arguing with you. It’s like talking about quantum physics to a first grader. You have to speak on their level. “Your guy bad. My guy good.” :-)

                      • PiMan says:

But why would you hide money where it isn’t useful to you? I men, I understand that you don’t want to be giving more to the government.
The millionaire that you are has grown accustomed to the lifestyle that $750 a week gives. You are going to find it easier to drop to $500 than $250.
                        .
I can perhaps see some more merit in the numbers when they get unrealistically big, rather than unrealistically small. But even so, if you earn $1,000,000 a week, you are quite possibly accustomed to a lifestyle that $250,000 (Net) may not be enough.
                        .
Also the money that you are no longer paying tax on, is also out of the effective money supply, keeping down inflation.

                        • blah says:

If a person has a lot of money, hiding some for retirement or whatever isn’t going to be a big deal to them. They still have a lot of money, but now they’re building even more by investing it where no one can touch it.
People who acquire large sums of money are (usually) capable of choosing when and where is a wise time to spend it. The neccessities would be covered first and the extraneous stuff would be cut back on. Extraneous things are things like salaries, consumer goods and services that aren’t *needs*, etc. When those are cut, especially with large sums of oney involved, it’s the people that got fired and the folks unable to sell their wares/services that get hurt.
The money that’s out of the money supply *should* help keep inflation down, but to keep enough in circulation they print more and it causes inflation. 8/

        • Shade says:

So what do you call what’s happening now? Where the Administration is taking the “proletariat’s” money and giving it to the rich?

        • Jamsta says:

          Hey. Guess what?

          You need to shut up.

And guess what else? If not for human nature, socialism and communism would be really good things. If people weren’t super greedy, and these concepts could work, then we would be alot better off. True communism and socialism make it so that no one is poor, and no one has power over other people. Everything is done by consensus, like in democracy, just with less stupid politics.

Of course, due to natural human greed for money and power, and ignorant fools like you, such concepts don’t work. SO THERE

      • LolPlz says:

Or, perhaps, YOU are close-minded for not respecting or looking into DoctorWorm’s opinion? Ah, conundrums.

    • Durr says:

ICE CREAM, MANDRAKE! CHILDREN’S ICE CREAM!

  5. Alex-X-x says:

Obama=Osama just change 1 letter and u get it!

    • n8 says:

Wow, that is -so- original! Did you come up with that yourself? I’ve -never- heard that before!

      • Lallz says:

For real. Look, I dont like Obama and Im pretty incapable of pretending I do, however to even consider him being anything to do with terrorist organisations is ridiculous. Also, travel a bit, Osama is actually a pretty common name in the middle east, and contrary to what you might believe, not every middle eastern is a terrorist. And guess what, the name Hussein doesnt equal terrorist either, my high school math teacher was called Mrs. Hussein, and while I suppose she might be working for terrorist organizations now, I sincerely doubt it. And just to throw this out there, the name Abraham is also common in muslim cultures after the prophet, and who else do we know with that name? Ah yes, Abraham Lincon. So please, PLEASE stop making stupid assumptions of people based solely on their names.

    • Eric the Barbaric says:

Well, I for one welcome our new Muslim overlords.

The least I can hope for is that Caliph Obama will order a genocide of all those who are found to be as stupid as Alex, insh’Allah.

    • eddiepescetti says:

*sigh* what a wankstain. I don’t care for Obama either, but seriously, your parents must be so proud of you /sarcasm/

    • deb says:

Finally Alex-X-X, someone agrees with me about Obama’s name. I think it speaks for itself!! Everyone in this country should be trying their hardest to keep that man out of office instead of trying to get him in.

      • lol says:

Yes, you probably wrote that half breed muslin sign too. Stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

        • Eric the Barbaric says:

Methinks deb is a troll. I find it hard to believe that anyone really that stupid could type so legibly.

      • Rvo says:

Are you serious? “Obama’s name is so close to Osama that he must be a terrorist!”

Has anyone ever told you that you’re retarded? Like, clinically, don’t eat any more lead paint, got hit in the face with a brick retarded?

      • Rvo says:

Oh, to make it clear, I am. *brickbrickbrick*

      • eddiepescetti says:

I’m trying to keep him out of office, but I wouldn’t equate his name with being a terrorist. That’s like saying someone named Ivan is automatically considered a communist.

  6. SigSauer says:

I laugh at all the liberal douchebags making things on this site.

  7. Me says:

Who knew McCain single-handedly controlled the housing market and the stock market?

    • noone says:

it was part of the evil Bush bailout bill duh

      • ema says:

$700 billion and no one can even say definitely it will help. That means the door is left open for them to ask for more! I’m confused that “the maverick” McCain went along with it too, but both sides went for it in all it’s pork infused glory.

        • rick says:

If McCain is supposedly Teh Maverick (TM) against pork barrel spending, why did he vote for this bill with a roughly $150 billion addition of useless crap? The election is more important than standing up to that crap. Anyone who had voted against it would have been seen as someone who didn’t want to save the economy. Pathetic.
The American people are the ones who lost with this bill. Rammed through on a Friday with the hope that most people would forget it by Monday and go back to sniping over Obama and McCain.

          • ema says:

I disagree, anyone who voted against it, and I know where to get a list of names, is a hero in my book. Where are our representatives and who is protecting us from this growing government?

            • and says:

several of the ones voting for it did it with the public statement of “I think this is wrong, but I’m voting for it because I pretty much have no other choice as something must be done now and this has been the best we’ve done after all this time.”

              • ema says:

Not sure it will save them when this thing flops, but we can only hope for the best I guess… Market still has not recovered losses but maybe with time. (Who’s to say that wouldn’t have happened anyway though)

                • froofrou says:

The thing that irritates me about people screaming about the market is that it always tends to correct itself. I refuse to be flamed for not being an expert, because I’ll admit that I’m not, but has there ever been a time in recent (last 30-50 years) where the market hasn’t roared back strong? Just because it goes down doesn’t mean the world is ending. If we didn’t have a free market and allow it to go down now and then, we would have a problem.

                  • um says:

Otherwise you’d never be able to buy low and sell high. Time to buy folks!

                    • ema says:

Just wish I could tell for sure when it was going to actually hit bottom! ;)

                      • Alcar says:

As long as you buy cheaper then you sell, you win.

You might not get the best deal, but buying now, selling in a year or so is likely* to get a nice profit.

*Don’t blame me if it doesn’t happen.

                    • lol says:

You gotta have the money to buy though, a lot of people are barely scraping by.

                  • ema says:

The only problem I could see with the recent dive is that people who were going to retire real soon, like in the next 6 months to a year or people who were living off investments already. Otherwise I agree with you! What goes up must come down.

                    • ema says:

The only problem I could see with the recent dive is that people who were going to retire real soon, like in the next 6 months to a year or people who were living off investments already >> “will suffer losses”

          • ema says:

(I mean all of us know where to get the names of course… not just me)

        • herb says:

See, that’s why we need more Jews and Muslims in D.C.: kosher/halaal diets forbid pork.

          .

(I still want the superpower to command the truth, though)

    • eddiepescetti says:

and has his finger on the button to start the next nuclear war to boot!

    • jhuger says:

Hmmm, I read it more as “If you put McCain in the white house, here’s what will happen.”

  8. Joe says:

is it just me or is it that this site appears to be getting less and less funny?

  9. um says:

all politics aside, I think this is another solution for making a door. Enter in from the inside passenger and driver door, exit out the back. No need to hire mexicans.

  10. MH says:

Wow…considering the Democrats are the ones responsible for the Fannie/Freddie crisis, I find this pretty stupid.

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/easescredit.asp

You might as well have captioned the picture with “This is Bush’s fault”….it made that much sense.

    • Ceefax says:

“the Democrats are the ones responsible for the Fannie/Freddie crisis”

      Oversimplification win!

      • XCX says:

While an oversimplification, the Democrats had a huge hand in starting this mess.

        • Lolnathan says:

More important than who started it, is the fact that neither party managed to do anything to stop it before it was too late.

          • eddiepescetti says:

Well, that would be in part because our friend Slick Willy managed to do an end run on Congress with the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac rewrite of the rules.

            • well, kinda…except that Congress was GOP controlled from 1994 until 2006.

              • eddiepescetti says:

I don’t think that was the issue though. From what I read, Clinton didn’t want to take the rule changes to Congress because he knew they would be vetoed. So he somehow (and I wish I knew more on this) by passed Congress completely.

                • DeathWyrmNexus says:

I really am going to need citation on that, especially since you have ground the point home that Congress is the real end all of policy.

                  • Click on my name for the link. The reference is about 2/3 of the way down. There are other references as well. I was trying to find one that wouldn’t be called biased, but the NY Times has archived references as well.

For those that don’t want to click, here ya go:

The culprits in all of this are the executives and board members of Fannie Mae for buying unsecured and risky loans, the Federal Reserve for putting up interest rates too far and too quickly, and the banks for what almost amounts to pyramid selling of bad debt based on fools’ mortgages. Fannie Mae’s structural flaws were an accident waiting tohappen.

But there is another culprit. The Clinton administration, in pressuring Fannie Mae, created the policy of lending initially good and then bad money to people who were themselves bad credit risks. This was done for good political – not to say politically correct – reasons: the targeted extension of home ownership to minority groups. But this social engineering has been achieved at a heavy cost, not least to those who have lost their houses and taxpayers who may now have to pick up the cost of an emergency package. People awarded such loans may well be forgiven for thinking they are now worse off than they were in 1999.

The lesson of all of this is not that Wall Street is greedy, nor even that banks should be limited in onselling debt, although periodically this is true. The main lesson is that banking and credit should be run on sound banking principles rather than as a political project. For where politicians become involved in banking, as in the case of the Democrats and Fannie Mae, only incompetence, pork-barrelling and corruption will follow.

                    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

                      In bed… Damn.

                      • So you can rightly assume that the bailout will just be another fiasco. I initially thought the plan had merit, but have since reconsidered. This is going to prove to be a catasrophy of epic proportions. In fact, California is already saying they will need $7 billion to help shore up it’s defict and other states are sure to follow.

                        • ema says:

Seems like 7 is the lucky number! I agree that this bailout thing should not have passed. The market is down again today, no one has any confidence in this thing.

                        • DeathWyrmNexus says:

I require 700,000 to be bailed out of my miserable life. I am just going with the rule of 7 but making it cheaper on the tax payer.

            • Ceefax says:

              BUTTTTT CLINNNTTTOOONNNNNNNNNNNNN

  11. the problem here is that McCain let Sarah behind the wheel and she kept winking.

  12. Kelto says:

you know, with all the mudslinging on both sides no one seems to really clarify. what exactly is so terrible about republicans or democrats? even my family (center-lefts) bash on the Reps all the time, don’t ever clarify exactly what’s so terrible about them…

The way i see it, it seems that each side just has different interests in what’s best for our country, and have different methods. and when one advocates for one idea, then the other side slings as much crap at it as possible, while refusing to recognize any positive to it. makes no sense to me.

    • Lolnathan says:

It’s because most Americans just see it as yet another thing where they get to choose a “team” to root for, and every other team is just a bunch of useless morons. Being reasonable and fair-minded is not acceptable in politics, apparently.

      • Kelto says:

it seems that once again, it’s fans that seem to ruin it. people who close their mind off and swallow anything fed to them by those they look up to, without stopping and thinking what it’s really all about.

  13. angrycat says:

wow, McCain isnt even President, we dont even know if he will be President. you know what? just go back to the Bush jokes until we have a new President, please.

  14. Required says:

Well, I WAS gonna give em to McCain, but Obama went and took em, and now look what happened.

    Nationwide still covers it, right?

  15. Pirate77 says:

Yay for the liberals who “fixed” our economy. And by fixed, I mean castrated.

    • Seth says:

Liberals? Like Bush, who made the bailout plan, or McCain, who backed it, or the Republicans in congress who deregulated everything, leading to the mess in the first place? Like the fall of the Berlin Wall did for authoritarian communism, this crisis proves the ideology of pure free market, deregulated capitalism is broken. We are seeing the end result of a class war perpetrated by the rich against the poor.
