Y’all realize one of the hallmarks of dominionist churches is to insulate members from other viewpoints by demonizing sources of information (media) not approved by the church. I’d be willing to bet she gets most of her info from AFR (American Family Radio) News.
You’re assuming she’s a member of one of these so-called dominionist churches. As I’ve said before, people have a really narrow view on church-goers as a whole. Baptist, CoC, Methodist, and some of the other mainstream (non-Catholic) denominations are pretty open-minded about where you get your news. They may encourage a certain way, but they certainly don’t throw you out for watching CNN or MSNBC. I’d be willing to bet (and this is purely speculation on my part) that Palin was told not to be specific in order to not seem as though she was promoting any particular place.

I don’t know. I don’t see many positive lols period. Political reach-arounds just aren’t as funny as making a jab at somebody. Given the probably 90% liberal readership of the site, this means that with the mechanics of the site as they are, most pictures we see are going to be portrayals of conservative politicians in a negative light.
Portrayals of liberal politicians get voted to nothingness due to the fact that people take themselves way too seriously and cannot find humor in something they disagree with. A sad and unfortunate character flaw, IMHO, that ruins anyones chance to see some particularly funny captions.
There is also the unanswered question of how, exactly, lols make it to the voting page. I guess they are trolled at random by site moderators who elevate it to the voting page. If thats true then I must also assume the moderator dislikes captions that portray liberal politicians negatively.
One could argue that the captions about liberal politicians simply are not funny and that is why we don’t see them. This seems unlikely to me. There are many pictures that make it to the front page and contain little to no humor, just a straight-out bash of some political candidate with no funny or subtle aspects involved. I.e. the “Bush is dumb.” “McCain is old.” “Palin is a woman.” lols. While of course they don’t literally say that, it’s typically some very thin and cliche caption that any 2 year old could have thought up. Now, if people find these funny, that’s fine. But I see a lot of anti-liberal captions that are on that same pathetic level.
Why aren’t those good enough too? I think it’s a mistake to assume people are voting based on funny/not-funny. I imagine most readers are voting based on who they agree with politically, which is rather sad given the intent of the site.
