News of the $500 billion
News of the $500 billion bailout reaches Hell.
(Pundit Kitchen is aware that the bailout is $700 Billion, however, apparently the person that captioned this wasn’t)
Where was this picture taken? Tell us in the Comments
picture: dunno source, via our lol builder. lol caption:

…says the cow.
I think it’s 700 billion, but at this point – who’s counting?
Mrs. Hooah
I love Pundit’s disclaimer below the picture. Priceless.
priceless or $700 billion..
That made me lol.
Is it bad that the OCD in me is ruining this funny for me because the number is wrong? I want to laugh… but can’t… its like the $500 is in giant red text blinking on top of the lol…
It’s ok, facts aren’t funny. Especially in this case.
the person that captioned this was calculating the “after taxes” total
Like they are going to pay a dime of taxes on their corporate welfare…
perhaps they were counting in Canadian dollars?
Recaption away, my ocd friend
Hell has some swanky park benches
cold on yo ass though.
Oh no! I’m goin’ back to Hawaii!
This picture has been taken in Versoix, a small town at Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Probably during winter 2005 (awful chilly winter!)
Perhaps so, Otter
But the “Restaurant” sign has
To make me wonder…
I was thinking that it was the back view of another pic I have seen taken at Lake Geneva of several cars completely encrusted in ice, and frozen spray angling down from the trees. I think I’d like to visit there sometime, en été.
(And “restaurant” in French is “restaurant”.)
Yes but if you look up the picture online its slightly larger and above restaurant it says room..

Hmm..
I think it probably actually says:
Tea-Room
Restaurant
Pretty sure this is Versoix. And I think that the restaurant in the background is
“Les Régates”: http://www.cartier-versoix.ch/
So there.
Definitely Versoix.
The sign actually says:
Tea-Room
Restaurant
The building in the background is the Tea-Room “Les Regates” J.-J. Cartier & Cie. in Versoix, Switzerland.
You’re right just thought I would pass on a link to more pictures of the ice storm
Switzerland, eh? No doubt where the smarmy “businessmen” of Wall Street are stashing their loot.
This picture was taken in Versoix, near Geneva, Switzerland, in winter 2005…

I confirm for Versoix, Switzerland
+1 to ryszard!
After a few billion they’re just numbers anyway. Accuracy doesn’t matter – it’s a fvckload either way.
I’ll take that extra 2 billion then, you won’t miss it! Thanks!
You are about 198 billion shy there, Obama.
How surprising.
ftw
Didn’t the US Treasury just guess on that number or something?
CAPTION FAAAAAIL actually you can’t really help if you don’t know everything… i have no idea what this is even about, myself
Satan reads the Wall Street Journal….who knew?
Who do you think makes up the numbers for the Wall Street Journal if money is the root of all evil?
I think I can now afford to go to hell…DEMON WINTER HOLIDAY
“This bill would not have been agreed to had it not been for John McCain… This is a bipartisan accomplishment, a bipartisan success. And if people want to get something done in Washington, they just watch John McCain. He’s been the guy whose name is at the top of major pieces of legislation for a long time.”
– Mitt Romney, NBC’s Today show, 9/29/08
-
“What Senator McCain was able to do was to help bring all of the parties to the table, including the House Republicans, whose votes were needed to pass this”
– Steve Schmidt, NBC’s Meet the Press, 9/28/08
-
“We’re optimistic that Senator McCain will bring House Republicans on board without driving other parties away, resulting in a successful deal for the American taxpayer.”
– McCain spokeswoman Kimmie Lipscomb, 9/26/08

Stunning defeat for economy bailout; stocks plunge
-
JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS | September 29, 2008 03:45 PM EST
-
WASHINGTON — In a stunning vote that shocked the capital and worldwide markets, the House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency rescue for the nation’s financial system, ignoring urgent warnings from President Bush and congressional leaders of both parties that the economy could nosedive without it.
-
Stocks plummeted on Wall Street even before the 228-205 vote to reject the bill was officially announced on the House floor.
Wait, McCain didn’t save the economy?
It’s all a bunch of Democrat posturing anyway. If Pelosi wanted to fix things she doesn’t need any Republic votes, she can just shove it down our throats. But if she did that and it failed, she’d be blamed. So she was wanting Republican votes too. And it would have worked if right before the vote she didn’t go all Evil Partisan Ice Queen and piss everyone in the room off with a “Ha! Ha! I get what I want and you can’t stop me!” So they shut her down, and her own Democrats (who could have still passed it regardless) voted it down too.
If you’re blaming Pelosi of all people you’re truly stupid.
If you’re not blaming her and the entire Democrat portion of the House, you’re a hopeless moron.
It was both sides who had people who voted against it, not just one. You would think that Pelosi would have better control over her party than that, though. I think these guys are thinking toward the next election. God forbid this goes further down the crapper, all of the ones who voted for it (if it ended up making things worse) would be living under a newpaper on the Mall.
Yeah, they’re definately worried about their own skins or they could/would have done something about it without bothering to be bi-Partisan. I’m generally more level headed than I was above, but the “If you don’t agree with me you’re dumb” folks on here just get annoying after a while. Figured I’d throw it back at him and maybe he’d see what a waste of a comment it was. He probably won’t get it though.
Yes, your comments are quite the waste.
Figured you’d be incapable of actual dialog.
And if you’re not also blaming all the repubs who voted against the bill then you’re as bad of a partisan hack as you claim Pelosi is. Go back to Fox News’s teat!
You’re assuming I actually want that piece of trash bailout bill.
“If Pelosi wanted to fix things she doesn’t need any Republic votes, she can just shove it down our throats.”
Except for that whole Not-having-veto-proof-majority-in-the-Senate thing… Repubs mention the word “filibuster” and the Dems fold faster than Superman on laundry day.
Without the caption, this is a pretty amazing picture. I’d love to see it in person.
Oops, that didn’t work out, did it?
Try this instead:

Wow, where was this taken? This is an awesome image.
I’m quite sure this pic was taken in Montreal after the giant ice storm in 1998.
That’s Geneva in Switzerland.
