What’s not to love!?
Her extreme right wing jesus freak views that threaten the secular nature of this country? And don’t bash me as an obamabot, his jesus freak crap has just about ruined him for me as well. Fortunately, he doesn’t act on it in the way she would plan too.
Just would like to point out our country has never been “secular” it just didn’t want to have a state religion like Britian. The point of our government was “Majority rule, minority rights”. 14% of the country claims no religion (religioustolerence.org). Thats a minority, so why are people surprised when the religious run the country?
Ever heard of the separation of Church and State?
Of course, the Church doesn’t govern the State, and neither does the State really govern the Church. We are not a Theocracy, our President is not a religious leader and neither is a religious leader our President. But our country was founded on Christian principles along with what the founding fathers considered basic human rights and freedoms for a fledgling nation. Be offended all you like, but I believe you’re more likely to have a Christian President with openly Christian opinions on topics than you are to have a President with no religious leanings whatsoever.
Re “the fledgling nation” – there ALREADY was a nation thriving in what would become the USA- their “basic rights and freedoms” weren’t taken into account – I’m not sure why this is ALWAYS overlooked… hmmmmmmmmmm
Because it really had no valid point in my argument to mention the numerous Native American tribal nations that preceded the United States of America. With my admittedly limited understanding of their governing system they didn’t have any real separation of Church and State. They also didn’t have a single form of governance as they were many tribes…not a single nation.
Ahhh Bristol Palin is so hot.
Waaaait a second. Our country was built in religious freedom. And our founding fathers were mostly rather non-Christian when it came to their beliefs in a god/religion.
you are very poorly informed about native american culture…. our bill of rights and constitution is based on a treaty between 4 nations of native americans on the east coast.
Kudos!
Reasonable people don’t have a problem with the fact that most of the people who run the country are religious. We have a problem when they start talking about running it according to the principles of their religion. “Separation of church and state” may not appear as a phrase in the constitution, but it’s a pretty good idea anyway.
I personally like the fact that Britain has a state religion. It keeps things nice and separate.
Queen = Head of State = Head of Church of England
Prime Minister = Leader of House of Commons = Nothing-to-do-with-the-church.
Hardly the last moment. They looked pretty happy on Wednesday night.
A strong family.
Not strong enough to pass on their values to their daughter. That’s typical conservative behavior, though. Tell everyone else how to live, but don’t follow your own advice. After all, didn’t Jesus say, “Condemn those who are unlike you, no matter how minor the crime, but forgive those who hold your views, no matter how heinous the act.” No wait, he never said that, conservatives just ACT as if he did.
They have passed their values to their daughter, she is having the baby.
And marrying the father.
Keep up the slime-flinging, Seth. You’re only generating publicity and sympathy for Palin and her family.
She’s only been on the stage for a week, but her approval ratings are already higher than Obama’s. That’s because she has integrity and class, two things that are foreign to Democrats.
She’s becoming a cultural phenom. I was watching Inside Edition, woman are buying up Palin style eye glass frames like crazy. I imagine the beehive will come back into style soon. But all that just indicates her popularity which will translate into votes.
That’s just her Pentacostal Hairdo.
Yeah, you’re right. Integrity and class. So THAT is why she tried to fire the head librarian in Wasilla because she wouldn’t ban books Palin wanted banned when she took the mayor’s office…or why she fired the police chief because he wouldn’t fire her sister’s ex-husband after their divorce…or how she took a city with a balanced budget and left it 22 million in debt when she left office, even after she redecorated her office MULTIPLE times….
Wow. I hope I’m THAT classy and have THAT much integrity when I grow up…
You won’t have any integrity or class if all you can do is spread smears and lies.
neither do you if you can’t come up with a decent argument…
Liberty, justice, equality, human rights, compassion and PEACE…
Those are are MY MORAL VALUES!
If your morals aren’t from the Christian god then you’re a terrorist.
I have a shirt that says “Jesus was a liberal”
Feed the hungry, help the poor, cure the sick…
sound familiar???
I won’t be posting in here using the name ema again, please note that any other posts you see using the name ema will not be from me but from some faker. I will post again in here but will be using a different name in the future. Maybe you will recognize me… Bye and good luck with fake ema…
Bye, and rejoice in your victory! They only attack you because they fear you.
I’ll still be around, I’m sure you will recognize me! ;D
I’m so confused! So you didn’t make the statement about a christian god above? Or did you? You can’t go, I’ll miss you!!!
so being as the previous post said “I won’t be posting in here using the name ema again” You must be the impostor, right?
or because her arguments are so ridiculously hyper-cheerleader that it makes us all giggle
I think this might be a fake “jellybeans”. She didn’t type more than a sentence and did not capitalize the first word of the sentence. IMPOSTOR!!!
lol, I am lazy in the evenings -
I usually only post at work and am in “grammar mode”
I hate white babies!
That’s too bad, I’d rather have you continue with your name as you chose it, but I can understand why you feel the need to change. regards, and luck.
Lol Good to know you’re really NOT that ignorant… see below.
I was introduced to this forum by a very special friend who knows my love for political debate and humor. Voltaire once said, “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” or words to that effect. When I was young, back when TV used to sign off at midnight, just before they showed the American Flag and played the national anthem, my local station, here in Indiana, used to show that quote. When I later entered the US Army, I often thought of that quote. After 23 years, retirement and now 8 years of teaching high school, back home again in Indiana, those words still ring true…Do they for you, or all of you who populate this forum? I believe that we are at a crucial point in time… will we work together as our founding fathers believed we could, or will we degenerate into petty self-interest and allow this great opportunity to fail? The choice is ours. I will not allow it to pass without a fight.
I often get carried away with the “heat of the moment” but many of my good friends (and all of my family) are republicans. I don’t hate republicans but internet anonymity can make us all into people we would probably pop in the nose if we met ourselves on the street.
I personally wouldn’t hang out with someone that gets as hot under the collar in the real world as I do on here.
Sorry, meant to get back earlier. We all get caught up in the moment, the tendency for all of us is toward the bottom, unfortunatly is is the sign of the times, but we must strive to rise above it…that is the part of Obama’s message from his 04 speech that caught everyone’s attention. The extremests revel in division, we need to break away from it.
Which is why, jellybeans, when I felt like I have offended or been offended I try and make amends. I know when I first started posting here it felt like I had to establish myself, so I probably did step on a lot of toes. I think I’ve toned down my rhetoric a bit and feel like, even though there is a gulf in beliefs, that I have maybe made some “online friends” that I can seriously debate issues with. If I ever DO offend, I hope I would be called to task on it. Meanwhile, “Are you ready to Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumble!”
Come on, Ema. You’re not that ignorant.
you guys take relgion in a hick way..no wonder your country is hated by nearly every other country, “if your morals arent from a christain God then your’re a terrorist” so wat buddhist are terrorists….give me a break..you americans are just as bad for trying to impose your views on the world and secondly if you are chirstain you just sinned…hypocrite
sam, they were kidding. so, i guess we can call you all dumbasses, though, if you want to be a representative for whatever group actually believes that, and has any evidence other then internet forums.
kinda hard to call them ‘lies’ when they’ve been verified by both residents of the city of wasilla and state of alaska, and investigated for veracity by the New York Times and the Washington Independent. and as for ’smears’ – is it a smear when it’s said to refute inaccurate portrayals of someone’s character?
The New York Times is a propaganda rag for the Democrats. Anything ‘verified’ by them is more likely to be a lie than not.
and the washington independent? or the wasilla frontiersmen? or the ancohorage daily news? considering alaska is a conservative, traditionally republican state, two out of three can’t possibly be a ‘propaganda rag’.
seriously? your paranoia is laughable.
You haven’t provided links to back up any of your claims.
Much of what you say has some resemblance to fact, but is distorted, misrepresented, or missing important elements.
I think it is McClatchey that has the book banning tale.
Unless it comes from FoxNews or one of its pundits’ blogs, to EP it’s all just part of the Liberal Jew-Run Media.
And you forgot to mention how it was during her reign that Wasilla’s meth labs -quintupled-. (well, not really; the number went from 9 to 48, so slightly more than five times.)
Actually it’s the Left who hate Jews these days. They call it “anti-Zionism”.
And we still have no proof for any of these smears.
Jesus Tap-dancing Raptor Christ, get over yourself.

http://www.adn.com/politics/story/515512.html
“Palin didn’t feel as though [the librarian] fully supported her, so she had to let her go.”
That’s it? There’s nothing there!
Palin asked the librarian if she would resign before she asked if she would be willing to remove books. So unless Sarah Palin can see intto the ffuture (and I’m not ruling that out), the two events are unrelated.
If this is the best smear you can come up with, she has nothing to worry about. I just wish the media were as diligent at turning over all the events in Obama’s past.
But why in all heavens would she ask for books to be removed from a library? Because no one was reading them? Or because she didn’t like what’s in them? That’s barbaric!
EP- This is the timeline given in the articles. First, she asked about banning the books. Then, she was sworn in. Then, she asked the librarian to resign, as part of some kind of “loyalty test”, which she also did with several other people. The librarian passed the test and didn’t resign. Then, Palin asked about banning books again in a city council meeting. Then she asked again. Then she sent the librarian a letter saying she was fired for “not fully supporting” Palin. Due to public outcry, the librarian was not fired. Three years later, the librarian resigned on her own, just before Palin was elected for a second term.
Incapa- Getting rid of books that nobody’s reading is called weeding, it’s no big deal, and a librarian wouldn’t need to be told to do it by the mayor or anybody else. I’ve worked in a library doing weeding, and it’s just a matter of one of the pages (lowest employee of the libary) going through and pulling out the ones that haven’t been checked out within a certain period of time. It’s nothing that would merit discussion at a city council meeting.
Getting rid of books because the mayor doesn’t like them is a violation of the First Amendment, and it is a big deal. If you don’t think so, I can only suppose you wouldn’t mind being forbidden to have a gun, or housing soldiers in peacetime without your permission, or having your home searched without a warrant, or getting the death penalty without a trial, or having a trial but not being told what you’re on trial for, or having anything else happen which the Constitution and its Amendments currently protect you from (although that protection has been sadly eroded in recent years).
“Three years later, the librarian resigned on her own, just before Palin was elected for a second term.” – She was elected for a second term then? I thought she was some kind of fire breathing dragon lady burning library books with her own breath. Why would they elect her again??
Why does any politician get elected for a second term? Finesse, bullshit, and charm.
That poor guy had no idea what he was getting into the moment he had sex with Palin’s daughter.
Truly it was a sex-fail.
But they’re going to have a white baby! Win!
What a loser tool you are, Fake Ema!
Can we just call the fake ema “N ema” since it’s a pain the ass?
But we have a poster called Enema, that could be confusing
Especially to me, because I am a twit!
Nice work Bob, at least this time you got the caps right this time and you linked the right page, thought you would have copped out since it links some of the lies about Palin.
Wrong again, Douchebag. Only a Liberal would sink so low as to use others names.
Manners, Bob! If you’re going to represent, don’t be sloppy. It makes other Conservatives look bad. Kinda like fake ema, but worse, because you are allowing us to judge you (and your party by extension) based on the assumed sincerity of your opinion.
Really not sure why you are so threatened by me.
For what it’s worth, I did contact the site and they are aware of the hijacking of names and are ‘monitoring’ the situation.
Good!
Yea Eddie!!!
Thanks eddie!!!
so I’m going to try not to comment so much for a while (we’ll see if that works).
Much as I love y’all, I think I’m spending too much time here and not enough time actually working at work
Lol!
She is a troooo sellebruty. Wut? I thot that ment u were da debbil!!!!
Marrying because you’ve been forced to in order to further your parents political ambitions rather than for love – great to see the sanctity of marriage is still being protected by the GOP!
I can think of no greater exemplification of conservative “values.”
First of all, you have no idea they don’t actually want to get married. Second, she would not have had to reveal the fact her daughter was pregnant if certain left wing blogs had not started spreading vicious rumors about her faking a pregnancy which she proved to be false. So, how can you say she is using it for political ambitions when she never intended it to be public knowledge in the first place? Do you think for one minute if she was not on the McCain ticket those two would not be getting married? The values of that family tells me different.
shes only marrying the guy because he got her pregnant.
Yeah, and those marriages work out SO well for the husband and wife…..and the babies.
NOT.
Well, SOMETIMES they do; as I have reason to know in my own family. But not always.
when it become 1991 again?
and waynes world?
….and marrying the father.
HA, you Wingnuts kill me!
A year later…….. her approval ratings were high then because everyone wants to see ‘the train wreck’ – sure didn’t work did it. Integrity? She quit her job as the governor right in the middle of the term. I’m so glad it worked out the way it did.
If they SUCCESSFULLY passed their values on, there’d be no baby to HAVE, and I suspect that was Seth’s point.
Having a baby isn’t the worst thing that could happen, they love kids.
They’re white so it’s okay.
not me, I have a stalker
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Maybe, but whoever is doing it sucks! Someone would love for me to STFU I’m sure but it’s not going to happen. I can change my name too.
The fake ema only reveals the weakness of the liberals’ arguments.
They know they can’t win using facts and logic, so they are using lies and fakery instead.
It’s a good sign. They’re desperate.
I’ll make you a deal EP, you stop judging liberals by the actions of fake ema, and I won’t judge conservatives by the actions of Megabob.
Wow, the comments are lolier than the picture! Where the hell is my popcorn?
You don’t even know for sure that person is a liberal. All we really know is that they are a douchebag of epic porportions that has to steal someone’s name to stir up trouble on the internet to satisfy some weird sick fantasy of theirs. Is there anything the site admins can do about this?
Furthermore, even if they *think* they’re ‘a liberal’, we shouldn’t exclude the possibility that they are in fact just a sad deluded wazzock.
Does the ‘click on my name’ thing give people access to *all* of one’s profile, or just the LOLs? – if the latter, that would work as confirmation of identity, wouldn’t it?
… does seem to be ‘all or nothing’ – still, unless you’ve got anything on your profile you don’t want anyone else seeing, just stick the URI for your ‘LOL’s page in the link box, et voila…
Scratch that, anyone can copy the link once it’s up. Duh!!!
We have to provide our emails to the site at the same time as our names, there should be something they can do. Besides, we used to have avatars on this site, how come we don’t anymore?
EP, you know I don’t normally disagree with most of what you say. In this case though we can’t fairly judge all of the Liberals here based on one twit using someone else’s name.
Yes, that’s fair. Some liberals are honest.
However, the particular person who stole Ema’s identity is definitely both a liberal and a liar.
And Jellybaby
I don’t know MB, I think jellybeans name was hijacked earlier too. There were some posts that just didn’t come across as hers.
I’m less inclined to think that jellybeans’s hijacking is the counterplay of your typical neocon reacting to the typical liberal hijacking ema’s as I am to believe that they are probably the work of the same dumb-assed kid who’s trying to prove his meta-genius by instilling chaos into this board.
Why are they automatically a liberal. All they are is an asshole, if you’re going to steal someone’s name and make fun of them of course you going to take the opposite view. This person is nothing more then childish bully who is picking on one of the nicest people on this site because that’s what bullies do and it is a shame the PK admin is letting him/her get away with it.
@ Herb: I agree, and it is probably the same person too, it would make sense to pick two people from opposite sides of the political field as it were. As much as being a trollish d*ckwas makes sense anyway.
This place has enough trolls already. It doesn’t need ID-thieving trolls.
Then Biden must have flattering the hell out of someone when he was plagiarising
<— cheap shot, I know.
*sigh* wasn’t exactly plagarism; he just failed to cite the source of the passage the tenth time he used it.
Stupid chicken-ass stalker! Easy to mess some one up, harder to actually confront them. What’s the matter with you?
You’re pathetic ema wanna be on many levels.
I know! I’m much stupider than that!
You’re just showing everyone how desperate you are. Scared of something?
Reality scares me but lies make me feel safe!
Yes, fake ema. For once you are speaking the truth.
The fact that you need to pretend to be someone else in order to push your views, shows that reality scares you. And your response is to tell lies.
Your hypocrisy makes me wet.
Your cowardice makes me smile, fake ema.
You’re going to run scared for the next sixty days.
Like Palin is? Hiding away from the press refusing interviews … great way to get to know the country!
Funny how I addressed Fake Ema, but Jellybeans replied.
I guess we know who the lying faker on the board is now.
You?
No.
I think jellybeans just showed us what sort of person she is.
ummm … it is a forum, people always answer questions not posed to them. It is called internets.
Plus, my name seems to be popular tonight too, maybe it is YOPU!!!! ZOMG
yes, YOPU … that bastard
EP, I luv you, but you should eat some crackers, drink some warm milk, and take a nap. Sometimes, for our own mental health, we need to get away from this aweful site and all the negativety for a couple of days. Then we come back, things look better, we are less bitter, and we are better prepared to make rational arguments. I really am saying this out of love and concern. You aren’t acting 100% like yourself lately.
I agree with the advice to take some time off. How many posts has EP made? And in not one does he repeat the echo-chamber lie about Bill Ayers.
…
…OMG! Maybe the fake ema -is- Bill Ayers!
But what else would EP do with his sad little life if he didn’t smear, slander, and lie on the internets?
Just when I said Liberals couldn’t sink any lower- they do.
Let me know when they get down to you. Could take a while.
I’m not pretending to be someone else- only a desperate loser would do that.
Reach up and touch the bottom of my shoes, loser!
Does it say MegaBob on your birth certificate? Wow, your parents are stupider than you.
Again, judging all by the actions of one? Impressive.
Following that logic, — nevermind. I haven’t the desire to create a f’rinstance.
You can’t follow logic that doesn’t exist.
I appreciate the sentiment, since you have accused me of imitating everyone on the board in the past 24 hours.
I seem to recall you and EP in a circle jerk telling each other “They only attack because the fear” I must terrify the shit out of you – GoGo truth! Check my name for fun facts!
At least someone as stupid as I am can’t. My name is lol!
don’t worry lol, you scare them too.
Okay, if you’re going to try and pretend to be me at least be intelligent about it. Grammar and lolz double fail.
they must have seen your photo
^Fake. Yawn.
Seriously, whoever you are, get a life already. Man up and make your own name with your own comments and stop being an ass!
I suspect it’s Jellybean- I’m sure she’s no stranger to restraing orders.
I’m actually starting to think it is, assuming it’s someone who has a regular name for when they’re not pretending to be someone else, Megabob. I mean seriously, he’s about the slimiest individual I’ve ran across on this site.
Yet another paranoid liberal ! No, I don’t need to hide behind others names- as you can tell, I prefer in your face diatribes. Since whoever this is started out picking on Ema ( who I like and agree with) you need to look at the desperate slimey liberals here. Perhaps you ?
I’m paranoid for stating an opinion?
FACT-ID Thieving is going on on this site by person or persons unknown.
That is a given. Everybody is aware of that. I simply stated who I beleive is doin git. You should look up the definition of paranoid. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
Done yet? Didn’t really look it up did you, oh well, can’t make you, but moving on regardless.
I prefer in your face diatribes.
Yet another concept you are aparently unfamiliar of the meaning of. An internet forum is not really what I’d consider “In your face” considering all we see is words on a screen.
Assuming it’s one person, they had to start somewhere, for all you know they just flipped a coin and that is why they decided to pick on cons. Or perhaps it is because Ema is one of the more active people on the boards. They could have just as easily picked me, or Evil Pundit, or Charlie Foxtrot, or Eddie, or Jane St. Clair (Actually Jane, didn’t you have an issue with that some time back?) They might have picked you, but the comments they would make would be so indistinguishable from your typical stupidity that the difference would have been unnoticable.
And if for some reason somebody DOES actually beleive that I’m the one responsible, this next statement will probably not change their minds, but I feel I should make it anyways. I am not the ID thief. Those who consider me a friend, (hopefully even some of those on the other side of the aisle) know that I would not do such a thing, And hopefully those who don’t know me, wouldn’t suspect me of doing so.
I would never suspect you.. can I have my $10 now? Just kidding.. even though you, Charlie, Jane, n8, herb, and whole host of others I can’t name at the moment disagree with me, and visa versa, I don’t think the thought of you being an ID thief ever crossed my mind. Like everyone else, I think’s some kid with to much time on their hands and is just stirring the pot to see what happens. I don’t expect bloodshed, at least not until McCain wins!
A good person becomes responsible when they make a mistake.
It’s impossible to get every value right. I haven’t heard one politician on either side say that’s necessary for presidency.
The most responsible thing Palin could have done — and should have done, frankly — is deny the nomination and put her focus on her own damn family.
Would you ask that of a man running for VP? Didn’t think so.
If he was making a big deal about being a family man, and had as many issues going on with his family as she does, and one of those family issues was so closely tied with one of the political issues he focused on that it was inevitably going to expose his child to public embarrassment, then yes, for the benefit of his family, I would think that he should drop out, instead of using his family’s private lives as a political tool.
You would have loved that wouldn’t you. Especially if McCain had picked someone as boring as Biden.
I have never heard that said of a male candidate.
I would have said that of anyone carrying in so much controversy.
Yes, I know, “But- but- but- but you didn’t say anything about Biden!” I didn’t have to; he was the Safe Bet. I’ll explain in a little bit.
Palin is running in part on a policy of family integrity (trying to appeal to the conservative Christian vote) at a time where she will (as is) getting ripped into by the left-leaning pundits for the whole pregnant teenage daughter. (There are a plethora of things to focus on, but this the giant elephant in the room “nobody” wants to talk about, so we all do.)
The only instance in recent times that a potential political candidate has had issues with a seventeen-year-old offspring was in 2004 when Gov. Dean’s kids was caught breaking into a country club’s bar. He was torn a third corn-shute for that (and also for only being the governor of a piss-ante state). It’s moot to play the “if he won the nomination” game, because he didn’t (damn liberal media), but the incident was a one-shot deal: namely the younger Dean wasn’t going to thieving more and more.
Obama (the Edgy Candidate) had to pick a Safe Bet for VP. McCain (the Safe Bet) needed an Edgy Candidate for veep, and he tried for someone ho was -really- edgy, and it seems that strategy is stinging back. (Had he gone with Condi, I genuinely would be worried.)
Well, I would add to this by saying that McCain never appealled strongly to the Christian Right. We can go back and forth debating whether they would have sat this election out or voted for him anyway. It is true that the moral majority rejected McCain first two choices before picking Palin, who although unknown to us has been making a name for herself with that crowd. Palin secures the vote of those in the Christian base of the republican party that was feeling disenfranchised with McCain.
-
Here is the danger with Palin as I see it. The democrats have to step carefully and attack her policy positions and anything questionable she may have done as governer. They have to be very careful not to rally the “working moms” around her for no other reason than a lot of people make decisions based on sound bites and half bits of information. Let me give an example. Right before the last election I was at an estate sale. Behind me were two women and they were discussing politics. One women says to the other, “I don’t like Kerry, he’s a flip-flopper.” Her friend says, “What do you mean by that?” The woman couldn’t explain. She hemmed and blustered but she couldn’t say what it meant to be a “flip-flopper” and she couldn’t say anything Kerry had done that made him a “flip-flopper”. About all she could say was that she had heard that he was and that it was a bad thing. Elections are decided on these things sometimes, half truths, innuendos, and catchy phrases. The democrats need to fight very hard to make sure Palin doesn’t become synonymous with all working moms or they’re going to have a hard fight.
From what I have heard, there seems to be quite enough to debate about her track record, we don’t have to get into family. I have heard a lot of things about her that I really don’t like, but will have to research before I completely buy it. The bridge to nowhere, slashing special needs programs, and the exact nature of her stance on sex ed are all things that have not been sufficienly discussed here. There is almost always more to it. As an example only: Obama is pinned as pro-abortion due to voting record (and his wife’s own statements, but that isn’t going to factor in this example), but he claims he would vote for a law banning abortion that provided for the health of the mother (I know ‘health’ can have a million meanings, this isn’t an abortion post, and I am not going to get into how valid his ‘claims’ may be). I’m just saying, I won’t be making any judgments based on heresay from this site, but those are the things worth talking about.
Anytime someone brings up a debatable point, The Usual Suspects dig into their pet phrases: “More Liberal hate!” or “Why do you hate woman?” or the semi-valid “Could you provide a source for that?” When one is provided, it is dismissed because it is either from the “liberal media” or it’s a copy and paste.
I sometimes think a more involved moderator(s) would be useful.
“…was in 2004 when Gov. Deanโs kids was caught…”
kids -> kid, in the singular.
Then W is a very very good person ever, cuz he has become responsible for so, so. sooooo many mistakes.
Ah shit. Here we go again.
she may have passed her values onto her daughter, but it doesn’t mean her daughter has to listen. Her family can have all the strong morals they want, but when it comes down to it, if a teenage girl is horny, she’s gonna do something about it.
My parents are good people and have strong values, but if my mother said “Don’t have pre-marital sex with your boyfriend” I’d do it anyways..
yup – I am quite that your kids are going to follow every single word you say. Oh, and I’m sure, being a liberal, that you are perfect and never make a mistake or bad decision… Way to be short sighted, intolerant and judgmental – but I forgot, all that is synonymous with liberal. Enjoy your high horse…it’s easier than actually having to make sense.
Is it just me, or is Palin the new “celebrity” on the block?
Hmmm… I sure wish more media would actually stand up and make the Repubs eat their own words (like Jon Stewart did here: http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=184086&title=sarah-palin-gender-card):
“Yet, despite all of the fans, paparazzi and media adoration, the American people still have questions: Is [Sarah Palin] prepared to lead? Is being famous the same as being a credible commander in chief?”
Is Obama?
Actually, I distorted that quote just a little bit… This quote is from a press release distributed by Rick Davis, McCain’s campaign adviser. I replaced “Barack Obama” with “[Sarah Palin]“.
Pot calling the kettle black don’t you think?
But Sarah is only the VP nomination, so it is a different question. McCain is not going to drop over dead within the next 4 years.
Exactly! When in our life time did a President just cark it? Assasinations and attempts aside, it’s been well over a century since that has happened. So maybe we can drop that train of thought. Oh, and for what it’s worth, everyone goes on about McCain’s age, but Reagan was nearly as old and HE didn’t die in office.
Plus look at McCain’s mom, she is in her 90’s and still as alert as he is. It’s in the genes.
I’d hit it.
So would I, two times!
Yea! Like his Dad, too!
On the other hand, he’s already outlived both his father, who died at 70, and his grandfather, who died at 61, both from heart attacks.
McCain is 72 with a history of cancer. Also the hard years in Hanoi could not have helped his constitution
So if that’s the case, why is he even still a Senator? Strom Thurman was serving in Congress well into his 90’s. Sure, he probably should have stepped down long before then, but your limiting a person’s ability to do a job based on “what if’s”.
Just. One. Favor:
Please look at pictures of Bill and Dubya before they entered office and at pictures of them in the year they left office. One of them (which one depends on your political preferences, I assume) didn’t really work all that hard, and was something of a Type B personality. Having what is probably one of the most stressful jobs in America takes its toll. McCain’s age, temperament, and predisposition towards cancer do not bode well.
We’ve only had one perfectly healthy President in the last century.
Oh, I think we’ve had a few more then that. In fact, we have had one perfectly unhealty President in the last Century who ended up being elected for three terms and died in office. The man had polio to boot while trying to keep the country together during one of bloodiest times of human history. So while I don’t disagree that being President is a difficult job, don’t underestimate people’s commitment to do something they truly believe in.
Had Oswald (or the KGB or CIA guy on the grassy knoll, or whomever) not killed Kennedy, he’d would have died with a year or two.
Our Presidents have been attacked with everything from phlebitis to heart ailments to polyps and pretzels; the only one to leave office with any serious medical issues (including getting flu) was Gerald Ford.
But it’s a stressful job, and I do not think McCain has the fortitude to deal with it successfully.
Lots of people made these same claims about Reagan and his age- did not make a bit of difference.
You obviously missed the piece when he and “Mommy” (aside: that is a sick friggin’ nickname for the woman you sleep with) where walking through the park. Reporter asked a question to Ronnie, Nancy whispered the answer, and the President spoke it verbatim.
Or that the man would fall asleep during his own meetings.
Most people politically saavy knew he was suffering dementia, onl no-one had the balls to challenge his mental faculties.
Yet kicked ass twice in two elections…..
Oh, so he -didn’t- have a campaign staff or cabinet! My mistake. Remember when he tore down the Berlin Wall with his bare hands and defeated Noriega with his laser vision?
You saw that too! It was amazing to watch.. (j/k of course)
I didn’t know he ripped apart the berlin wall with his bare hands, I thought that was David Hasselhoff.
No, The Hoff just tried to sing after the fact..
And get your history straight. He headbutted it into a pile of rubble. Right before saying “up, up and awaaayyyy” and flying back to DC.
Because when a senator dies the whole country isn’t subject to rule by the “But she is just the VP, she doesn’t need to answer any questions or do any interviews where someone might ask her what is happening in Iraq”
McCain’s Father Died at 70 and his Grandfather at 61. McCain has malignant melanoma and 5.5 years as a POW that couldn’t have been good for his life expectancy. He’ll be 72 before he takes office… Who are you to claim he’s not going to die in the next 4 years? His doctor?
No, but his doctors have given him a clean bill of health knowing how tough a campaign would be. He must be in good shape.
THIS IS NOT TEH REAL EMA … she said so up there
jellybeans – Where are your pages and pages of facts??? I hardly recognize your post…
give it a rest. I hope it is, while I don’t usually agree with her, I kinda like hearing from her.
That was pretty clever, actually. Well played. Has anyone here ever read “The Great Chess Game?”
And for the record Obama is a lot more qualified than Palin:
7 years as State Senator and 4 years as US Senator for a state with a population of 12.8 million vs. 20 months as governor of a state of 670,000…
If you honestly think those are on par with each other maybe you need to go back to 7th grade civics class and learn a thing or two…
Maybe we should quit comparing apples to oranges. Obama is the Presidential candidate for the Democrats, McCain is the Presidential Candidate for the Republicans. Maybe we should continue this debate based on that criteria? If you want to compare Biden to Palin, then yes, Biden has a lot more experience then Palin. Does that make sense?
Senators have far less responsibility than Governors.
And Obama wasn’t even a good senator. He avoided voting on most issues and never once held a meeting of his own committee.
Palin is way ahead of Obama in qualifications and experience — and she’s not even running for the same office!
PLEASE!!!!
take off those rose colored glasses and look at the truth for once would you?????
She’s not qualified to even be the Governor of a bigger state!
She’s for taking away liberties of the American population, especially women.
The most hypocritical, anti-feminist woman out there…
Women have babies. They shouldn’t ask for more than that.
Sarah Palin will protect fundamental rights that Obama wants to remove — those of the First and Second Amendments in particular.
Obama is a fascist in a donkey suit. He’s very dangerous to democracy. But Sarah Palin is a reformer who will clean up corruption in Washington as she has in Alaska.
I LOL’d.
Do we have someone copying EP as well?
I mean, these lies are over the top even for him.
I hope so… anyone who writes this s**t clearly is out of his mind…
Oh and BTW

Funny thing about that question, it seems every Presidential Candidate gets that one humg on them. The truth is, nobody is really qualified to lead, it’s more of an On The Job training program. Either your going to succeed, much like Reagan or Clinton, or you will fall flat on your face like Carter and Bush. You can only lead as good as the people you have around you to give you necessary advice. Nobody, and I mean nobody, is the font of all knowledge.
Yes, No and Kinda.
Yes, no one other than an Ex President has the experience of being Commander in Chief. (Well duh)
No, you can be prepared for the job, by using what experience you have leading, plus what charisma you have. Also: Experience is not measured by years on this Earth but by stories, and events you have witnessed or heard. Example: “While I have never been in a tornado, I watched a show and saw how they survived it, so I tried that method and learned from their choices” it is in this way that Obama IS equal to McCain in experience.
Kinda: No one can attest to “fixing” the economy, however things DO help the economy get back up on its feet, such as the “New Deal” or similar things. However, most of the time its every 12 years when the economy goes from Fantastic to recession back to Fantastic again.
See, I think you’re right. It’s probably one giant crash course anyway.
But srsly, though. I was almost on the fence until Palin. She’s just too much.
I’d cast my vote for Zombie Eisenhower. He -does- have experience.
Undead Ike ‘08
Sorry Herb, wanna explain that one?
Sorry, that was rather left-field wasn’t it?
On many forums I’ve expressed a deep respect for Dwight Eisenhower, naming my pick for Last Mench President. When a friend wore a shirt that said “I don’t care if he’s dead: Impeach Nixon!” I responded with “I don’t care if he’s dead: I -still- like Ike!”
Zombie Eisenhower evolved from there.
I was overtired.
I’m not sure how I feel about Eisenhower per say, however, as I kid I lived in Kansas and anytime we had relatives visiting we’d make the short drive to Abeline to see Dwight’s childhood home, final resting place, presidental library, et al. I think I’ve seen more of Eisenhower than any bored 12 year old should have to endure.
Well, if we’re nominating dead people to be president, lets bring back FDR.
Zombie Roosevelt/Zombie Ike ‘08
Sorry Kurt, but that would be really weird! And poor Nixon would be digging his way out for another go..
Nah, we’d cement over his grave. Also make sure nobody puts his head in a jar, we don’t want him to be president of earth in the year 3000.
Nothing like damnation to walk the world feeding on the brains of the living to heal partisan bickering!
Wow, that sounds alot like Nietzsche!
They were just sad no one wanted to look at JMc. But sellebritney is OK now that they got emselves one.
Actually, plenty of people wanted to look at John McCain.
“Nielsen said that 38.9 million people watched McCain accept the GOP nomination Thursday on either ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel or MSNBC. PBS, which has a more imprecise estimate based on samples in a few big cities, said 3.5 million watched on its network.
“Last week, Obama’s speech in Denver was seen by 38.4 million on 10 different commercial networks, and an additional 4 million on PBS.
“Add it up, and that’s McCain, 42.4 million, to Obama, 42.4 million.”
But keep on denying reality. It helps the good guys win.
You are right, now that he is Dancing with the Stars with our new favorite American spokesmodel!!!! The ratings are through the roof, man!!!!! It’s not that often a second sequel gets such an enthusiastic response, especially when the ratings for GWB I and GWB II are really not-so-good!!!
But we are good to go now! It is now coooool to be popular. And they don’t have to answer any questions at all, they will get their people back to your people and give us press releases so we can hear exactly what they want us to hear. And it is perfectly understandable that our new American spokesmodel will be taking some well deserved time off after over a FULL WEEK on the job. Those scripts don’t memorize themselves, don’t you know!!!!! So celebrity is good, good, good now that we are one!!!!
That picture is the absolute truth. There may not be actual bloodshed, but politics today are a true Gladiatorial Bloodsport, and Washington, DC may as well be called the giant Roman Collosseum of Politics.
Opening up my entire family, YES, INCLUDING MY ADOLESCENT CHILDREN, to downright cruel personal political attacks and being demonized, openly cursed, and absolutely hated by others just because of my beliefs, that’s why I’ll NEVER get into politics.
And mark my words, personal attacks directed at a candidate’s adolescent and even toddler-age children for PURELY POLITICAL purposes on the national stage and in the national media IS COMING. It ain’t here now, but it WILL be here in just maybe another election cycle or two. By that time, we may actually have extreme conservatives and extreme liberals and the most extreme, partisan voters of both parties engaging in street violence to keep each other voting on election days.
Personal attacks on a candidate’s children are already here.
Pundit Kitchen comments threads have been full of attacks on Sarah Palin’s 17 year old daughter and her five month old son all week.
That’s why I said ‘adolescent and toddler-age’, but this place don’t count. I’m talking full-blown personal attacks on a candidate’s children of those age-ranges not just on blogs, but in the mass media and on cable news or similar outlets, places where many, many more people will see it at the same time, and done by somebody with that kind of outreach.
McCain started it all in ‘98 with his nasty remarks about Chelsea … of course it is all ok if a pug does it, you guys just can’t take your own venom now that dems finally are starting to dish it back.
For the last decade Liberals have been playing nice nice but now we are sick of seeing your slanders and smears, we are standing up and speaking our minds too.
Liberals have never ‘played nice’.
The smears and attacks on Republicans and their families began way back, at least in the Reagan era — and have never stopped. No President has ever been vilified as much as G W Bush.
But this time your smears have backfired. They just drew the attention of the voters, who tuned in to see the real Sarah Palin speaking. And now, her approval ratings are better than Obama’s!
Sure sucks to be the bad guys, doesn’t it?
Karl Rove attacked McCain’s adopted daughter in 2000. But repub on repub must get you all hot and bothered.
Evil says: “No President [sic] has ever been vilified as much as G W Bush”
I know! All he has done is ruin the economy and get our troops killed!!! Now, I understand you were in a coma throughout the 90s. Word is, there was a President who did some really, REALLY bad stuff. He messed around with a girl!!!! I know, what could possibly be worse!!!!! But no one really noticed that. Damn liberals.
Anybody think we’re close to grassroots-level extreme liberals
and extreme conservatives engaging in street violence against each
other? Or the fringe-right wing of the Republicans and the
fringe-left wing of the Democrats both actually breaking away
from their parties and deciding to actually take up arms against
each other, and declaring “To Hell with civility, lets start
America’s second armed Civil War RIGHT NOW!”
I don’t recall any violent Republican demonstrators at the DNC convention- but there sure were Democrat ones at the RNC convention.
Did you watch the videos? There were college kids walking, waving signs and chanting, not exactly scary. Then the police started using smoke grenades.
-
Of course now they are being prosecuted under the patriot act. The rowdies at DNC we given meals and let go the next day.
That’s probably because the “rowdies” at the DNC were in fact Democrats that were drunk or on drugs.
*SO* drunk and on drugs, they had signs supporting either McCain r Nader.
Oldest tactic in the book- just like the poser stalker on here, you pretend to be the enemy to get people mad at them.
I’m sure you know from experience.
They were waving the signs all angry like though. And those things have a point on one end you know.
Damn people with their free speech! Aren’t those frickin Amendments to the Constitution that the president is sworn to defend just laughable? No wonder Bush and Cheney spend so much time ignoring it! And with all the jokes going on at this week’s convention, I can rest assured my friend John McCain will keep that trend alive!
And it is good you noted that those demonstrators were all Dems. Like those Democrat Ron Paul people. And the Democrat Anarchists. I know, I know, they may not think they are Dems, but if they oppose the good old GOP, it is easiest to just call them Dems. You know, like the way the GOP can proudly claim Nazis and KKK. At least those guys had the good sense to remain locked in their underground bunkers instead of going out and demonstrating!!!
I wish I’d taken down the name of the political correspondent that asked how many protesters were firing rubber bullets and concussion grenades at the police.
DNC arrests = < 200
RNC arrests = 800 +
If you had a press pass and weren’t covering the Smoke&Mirrors, and instead were filming the protests or the police treatment of protesters, you were rounded up in the ol’ Black Mariah as well. That puts the “ass” back in “classy”.
The scary part to me is that they are being investigated under the patriot act. Like they are terrorists for protesting. Many decent people protest – terrorists blow stuff up. big difference.
Surprise, surprise — if these thugs weren’t committing crimes, they wouldn’t be under investigation.
Maybe you liberals shouldn’t use dirty tactics, like political violence.
And like pretending to be someone else in order to discredit her.
so I guess you are a-ok with the FBI and the police surrounding homes and detaining anyone that leaves while waiting hours for a warrant then getting one for the WRONG house and still busting in anyway. With assault rifles … to arrest teenagers that planned to block some traffic and chant some slogans..
Welcome to the republican police state created by your personal hero – GW. Bush
Oh, they also detained any reporter foolish enough to try to cover the protesters. screw 1st amendment, we have a convention to throw!
Ron Paul’s convention drew relatively huge numbers right across the river.
Darth Nader has been a thorn in the side of Democrats for eight years now.
I hear ya, Noah. I hear ya.
(And to EP’s comment: -every- President has been vilified by the opposing side)
None has been as thoroughly and meanly vilified as George Bush.
No. He’s been as crucified as they all have. I understand that you’ve only recently achieved adulthood and thus haven’t seen some of the previous vilification, and as a die hard neoconned, you can’t conceive the idea of researching facts; I’ll let this pass.
Yeah, but more people are killed in Chicago (Obama’s home city- where he organized and stuff) last summer than soldiers in Iraq.
Things that make you go “Hmmmm…..”
Yeah, but more people are killed in Chicago (Obama’s home city- where he organized and stuff) last summer than soldiers in Iraq.
Things that make you go “Hmmmm…..”
You call it “villified”, I call it “held to account.” Accountability, responsibility, you know, that stuff Republican politicians talk about so much but never live up to?
Actually, from what I’ve seen, the Democrats are basically attacking Palin’s stand on sex ed and using her daughter as an example of why it doesn’t work, while the Republicans have been laying it all on the kid. As for the son, I haven’t seen attacks on him at all. I’ve seen people questioning whether he was actually Bristol’s son before the pregnancy story came out, and I’ve seen people calling Palin’s judgment into question over the circumstances of his birth, but no attacks on the kid. Personally (and I know I’m just a d*mn liberal, so you don’t care what I think), I think all these lines of questioning are reasonable. I’m not sure Bristol’s pregnancy *needs* to be discussed as much as it has been, but the sex ed policies certainly need to be examined. If it had been true, presenting your grandchild as your child is certainly a much bigger lie than saying you didn’t have sex with someone when you did (and the last guy got impeached over that!) And if somebody’s going to be the backup for the hardest and arguably most important job in the world, she’d better have good judgment.
It is interesting that a white family with 5 kids is a-okay with conservatives, but if it was a black or hispanic family with 5 kids and another on the way they’d be shitting bricks.
yes, in the pug eyes minorities have kids because they are too stupid to use birth control. White families have lots of kids as gifts from god
Wow, that’s a pretty broad brush you’re using.
I borrowed it from MegaBob and EP, want it back?
White people should all be neutered.
It would solve many problems … Of course I would be happy with just the Neo-Cons being neutered. The ones on this board shouldn’t be allowed to breed anyway.
Tell you what, I’ll take that one and give you one back that has a narrower width, ok?
I don’t mind being hated for what I believe, I just don’t want to be hated because I’m misunderstood.
Tell me you don’t see this attitude ever ever ever on this board Eddie, go on, you can do it.
I know it doesn’t come from you and I know it doesn’t come from Ema or Trainwreck but it is all over these boards.
Why don’t you concentrate on posting about issues and stop trying to wage a one person war against racism in here, your over concern is making you look like the racist.
OKie … that makes no sense.
I am sorry that I take offense to racist comments. I will try to be more like you
The most racist comments on this thread all came from you, posting as the fake Ema.
Shame on you.
Good thing liberals are the only ones that make baseless and libelous attacks on character, eh?
I mean, I’m sure you have proof, like a trace of IP addresses.
Republicans like EP don’t need proof. Look at all the kids held under the patriot act for trying to protest at the RNC.
Oh hell yeah, but the problem is, the attitude isn’t just on one side. I see it across the both sides. At least, I hope that is what you were implying?
That sounds like something Fake Ema would say.
You liberals have no principles or ethics. None.
And that surprises you ?
You’ve been on here long enough to know better !
Maybe it was the fake jellybeans?
Nah, just kidding. It was the real me.
Say what you will about me and my crazy hippy ways but at least I post in my own name
No, I’m pretty sure you were the fake Ema.
You were saying similar sorts of things in this thread. And when I asked fake Ema a direct question, you were the one who replied.
ok, lets do this again. in a forum everyone answers questions not directed to them. You often do it yourself you know.
While I find you personally to be completely disgusting as a human being (based on your conduct on this site) I kind of like Ema as I have stated many times before this even started.
You attack me at every opportunity so you must fear what I have to say (based on your own statements about attacks and imitators) I am sorry that you are not a strong enough person to hear the other side of the coin. Perhaps when you are older you will realize that zealotry and fanaticism are just as dangerous from conservatives as it is from liberals or religious groups.
EP come on, that’s out of line even for you. Don’t agree with what Jellybeans says, fine. But don’t point figures and make accusations when you have NO PROOF. Whoever was imitating ema was an epic douchebag and they’re probably laughing their asses off because they got you to play into it by throwing out baseless accusations.
And you have no rebuttal for my comment. Typical brainless repub. Go parrot moar.
What kind of rebuttal would you like for your trash comment? It’s not even worth rebutting. Conservatives love children while it’s you liberals that are encouraging abortions.
Allowing abortions and encouraging abortions are two different things. What really encourages abortions is cutting programs to help unwed/teenage/just plain poor mothers, not to mention teaching kids that contraceptives aren’t effective, and that they should be ashamed of having sex out of wedlock (since pregnancy is visible proof that they’ve had sex).
Expecting anything less is naive.

From the “Anti-Piracy Candidate” this cracks me up!!!
The anti-piracy candidate is Joe Biden. He wants to ban filesharing.
umm … McCain has been pretty vocal on his stands against piracy. I agree with him on this matter so I actually paid attention. You should as well before spouting off.
Take into account his age, when you say piracy to him he’s probably thinking the “Arr, shiver me timbers” type pirates, not the “wanna buy a dvd” pirates.
Piracy are good! :<

Add some dots for many fun giggles!
All that stirring music at the RNC was pirated and the artists are speaking out
(I’d sooner root for the Yankees than support the GOP.)
associated Press Writer Jim Drinkard in Washington contributed to this report.
Some examples:
PALIN: “I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending … and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress โthanks but no thanksโ for that Bridge to Nowhere.”
THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a “bridge to nowhere.”
PALIN: “There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, itโs easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform โ not even in the state senate.”
THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.
PALIN: “The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars.”
THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obamaโs plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCainโs plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.
Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.
He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.
MCCAIN: “Sheโs been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of Americaโs energy supply … Sheโs responsible for 20 percent of the nationโs energy supply. Iโm entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America,” he said in an interview with ABC Newsโ Charles Gibson.
THE FACTS: McCainโs phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but sheโs no more “responsible” for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state โ by population.
MCCAIN: “Sheโs the commander of the Alaska National Guard. … She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities,” he said on ABC.
THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under “federal status,” which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaskaโs national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.
FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin “got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States.”
THE FACTS: A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayorโs election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries.
FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY: “We need change, all right โ change from a liberal Washington to a conservative Washington! We have a prescription for every American who wants change in Washington โ throw out the big-government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin.”
THE FACTS: A Back-to-the-Future moment. George W. Bush, a conservative Republican, has been president for nearly eight years. And until last year, Republicans controlled Congress. Only since January 2007 have Democrats have been in charge of the House and Senate.

Waaah! Stop smearing!! (Just stepping in for EP and MB, since they seem too cowardly to reply to this excellent block of facts.)
Yes, the ideal family picture that the McCain/Palin campaign chooses to disseminate happens to be missing the “least scenic” family member. The child with Down’s syndrome is conveniently not pictured.
Maybe he wasn’t born yet you knob!!
Family love is messy, clinging, and of an annoying and repetitive pattern, like bad wallpaper.FriedrichWilhelmNietzscheFriedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
Seems to me that a nice Civil War might be the answer – and a little sikle cell in the water supply for jellybean
Huh ?
you should be applauding, he thinks I am black and wants to kill me with a disease known to afflict predominantly black people.
-
Racism is alive and well in America but most of you repugs on here only think it goes against you.
-
PS Mr. 1967, the most odious statements above are made by someone using my name… well, most odious would depend on your POV. The ones calling for killing babies and white people are not me. The ones laying out the lies of the McCain campaign are me… you have to decide what you personally find most horrifying I guess.
You got this “Victim” thing going on- why?
I dunno, perhaps because she is being post stalked and immitated by some little troll (Who I still think is you MegaBob) who has nothing better to do than mess with people in a manner free of consequences.
Once again, they started after Ema (who I agree with) which tells me it’s one of you psycho Liberals….. Maybe you?
but you blame me for stalking Ema.
I kind of like Ema, she is a bit “over-perky” on occasion but I wouldn’t go around messing with her and I really hope she knows that. I actually couldn’t be bothered to change my name just to screw with a bunch of people on teh webz, why would I?
I don’t even know where you crawled out of recently but nearly every post has been some sort of attack on me.
It’s not paranoia when they really are out to get you.
As Evil Pundit noted, when he responded to Fake Ema, you replied !
Awful coincidental. But if the webmasters really find out who it is, I’ll await your apology as you will await mine. Really.
Oh my, isn’t awfully coincidental that -I’m- now injecting myself into a conversation between you and jellybeans? Maybe -we’re- one in the same.
By your logic, everyone here but you may all be shills and socks of jellybeans.
Maybe we’re all the same person just here to mess with your head.
Jellybeans, you don’t have to defend yourself to him, it is obvious that someone (and probably the same person) stalked both you and Ema and anyone with half a brain would know it has NOTHING to do with politics and EVERYTHING to do with some bored douchebag with nothing better to then create chaos on a website that is a spinoff of one devoted to cats getting cheeseburgers. Megabob’s crazy amps go to eleven, no use in trying to reason with him with facts and logic.
MB, since I’ve been on here there are numerous people I disagree with politically, but respect enormously for their dedication to what they believe in. I don’t see jellybeans as the type of person who would hijack someone else’s name to make them look bad. She would rather slay someone with reasoned replies and not resort to messageboard terrorism.
Good form.
Dankeshuen.
Here here eddie!
I raise my Dr Pepper bottle in a toast to your ratioality Eddie.
See, that’s the trouble right there, you agreed with her. They couldn’t have too many agreeing conservatives on this site, something had to be done. Don’t worry there are more of us out here.
That is about the stupidest statement the I have ever heard. In fact, I state now that using the name you have used you are, in fact LYING. You were never in the SF, let alone in1967, for such a statement would dishonor all SF soldiers before 1967, during that year and after.
And it’s a shame he didn’t find a pungi stick along the way.. My thought is, just another wannabe.
Damn, eddie…If we keep agreeing we may just have to sit down and have a beer together… quick call me a nasty name, I”l call you one and we can go out back and pretend to fight.
Uh, erm.. REMF? I hoep that isn’t to personal…
dang it.. HOPE not HOEP.. sheesh
I ain’t no REMF you zoomie, thems fightin words.. break out the pool que’s. Hope you like Spaaten! by the way, I really don’t like Palin. Win or Lose, she is a mistake. (see, I couldn’t avoid the politics)
Nope, ain’t no flyboys ’round here.. you must have me confused with another fight! And I think we pretty much have your dislike for Palin commited to memory.. at least, I do.. At least she isn’t as ugly as Geraldine Ferraro.. I’d rather look at her for the next 8 years then GF.
True, Ferraro was hard to look at, kinda reminded me of a girl I knew in…wait I never did know anyone that ugly, well I did but, I was really drunk at the time, and the next morning too. Course it could be worse, I could wake up and some Stepford Wife, governor of Alaska type person could be running for VP or something.
Just can’t help yourself, can ya? *rolleyes*
Na… it really is a disease you know. Could be worse…na not really.
“Actually itโs the Left who hate Jews these days. They call it โanti-Zionismโ.”
What do you call what they do in Sarah Palin’s church, inviting guest speakers who think every time Israelis die in terrorist attacks it’s God’s vengeance for them not turning Christian?
what does sarah palin think about divorce and psychotherapy because her little girl might have that in her future too. At least, i hope the latter is in the mix already. esp for that young baby daddy, good lord. to be honest, i think it’s a really sad sad situation, particularly with all the pressure they’re under. I wish the best for the baby and the parents, but it doesn’t change the fact that McCain/Palin create an almost laughable team. As for Palin, I’m astounded, I wonder if a person who has any sense of balance and priorities would take time off to make sure her own newborn, who’s going to be an uncle before he’s one, is healthy, and that the daughter and coming grandchild are tended to and fostered. Saying yes to the VP automatically put her daughter and grandchild in a horrendous public position, and Palin knew that would happen. Not to mention, if anyone has the resources to back it up, and stabilize the family core, it’s her. So at a time when the family should create as much stability as possible, Palin strolls into the limelight like her beauty queen training taught her. Nice, really nice. Narcissism at its grandest, it’s clearly all about Sarah which is reflected in the way they’re all positioned in family pics. Run, Bristol, Run.
Way too much information here… Sarah Palin doesn’t bother to think, she lets the men do that for her.
1. Does she know her son is gay?
2. Her littlest girl looks evil. Runs in the family.
Liberals. All class.
What I don’t like about Palin is that she seems to be publically exploiting her daughter as a symbol for values. Oh, she’s going to get married to the father and keep the baby, so that makes up for having premarital sex! Tons of lower class teen girls get pregnant all the time. A lot of them don’t marry the father, or may not even get support from him, but a lot of them manage to keep the kid and provide, yet those girls are labelled as “skanks”. But when an upper class rich girl gets pregnant and keeps the baby, it’s okay! It’s just another sign that people let the rich get away with more.
Plus, I’ve read article where Palin says that the oil pipelines and the war in Iraq are “God’s will”. I’m sorry, but any politician who tries to use God, religion, or the Bible to justify things loses points in my book.
Oh, and has anyone else seen that “Sarah Palin’s Ballad” song on youtube? It’s pretty funny.
In January 1997, Palin notified the police chief, Irl Stambaugh, and the town librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons that they were being fired.[18] Palin said in a letter that she wanted a change because she believed the two did not fully support her administration. She rescinded the firing of the librarian, but not the police chief.[19] The chief filed a lawsuit; but a court dismissed it, finding that the mayor had the right to fire city employees for nearly any reason.[20] According to Anne Kilkenny, a Democrat who observed City Council, Palin also brought up the idea of banning some books at one meeting, but did not follow through with the idea.
Last FAKE happy family moment.
Caribou Barbie with the ‘family fun pack’
Oh, boo freakin’ hoo. Did somebody force her at gunpoint to take the job?
seriously! after sitting down and reading that (which took like an hour), i say you guys should make yer own show! *the case of the stolen name*…. main suspect…. JELLYBEAN!
In America now dysfunctional is normal unless we hate you, then you are a weird unqualified messed up family who should be avoided. We observe closely with microscopic media to maintain the focus away from our own dirty spots.
she is really kinda sad. i mean, if she hadn’t been chosen to run for vice president she would still just be the semi-wierd governer of alaska, not the freak we all think she is now. I dont agree with anything she says, but at least i have the maturity to respect her for being what she is, which is just being herself. she has some screwed up ideas, but i dont imagine she is a terrible person. people who say disrepectful things to her are really just about as ignorant as she is.
