She is just a normal woman who speaks her mind, like most of the other women in this country. She is smart, educated, a great mother and not an heiress snob like Cindy.

If you asked my friends the same types of questions in the same types of situations I think the responses would be similar to Michelle’s.
I am proud to be American but the government has done some things that don’t make me proud of it. Not being “proud” of your country does not mean you love it any less. Just like you would not be proud of your child if they stole quarters off of your dresser (as millions of children have and will continue to do) but you don’t stop loving them.
Well to be fare, she didn’t say she was never proud of the government, she said she was never proud of her country which really makes her look ungrateful because she has a much better life than many people in this country and especially the world.

I’m with you there, thank God none of us have had to worry about every word we said and how it would be twisted and rehashed and used against you by everyone. I have a tendency to stick my foot in my mouth anyways, and I’m just an average person. No wonder so many female political figures are labeled bitches, I know I would get quite testy after awhile.
I don’t know, if I was an Obama fan I would actually be a bit angry at her. I think she has turned out to be a huge stumbing block for his campaign, she should have thought of that. She needs to have broad appeal, this is a campaign for the presidency and she will need dem and rep votes to win. I’m pretty sure that’s why you don’t hear much from her lately because of the early impression she has made.
I wouldn’t say she was a huge stumbling block. There was that one instance of her talking about her pride in her country. Now she has softened, appeared on the View, and what not.
It might just be too late… people aren’t really forgetting about it – I bet he would have had a greater lead in the polls right now if it hadn’t been for that gaffaw. She said a few other weird things but that is the one people consistently bring up.
