Ugh. I’ll make it simple. Kobe Bryant was born in the US, so he plays for the US in the Olympics. Yao Ming was born in China, so he plays for China in the Olympics. They both play for the NBA because they’re willing to sell their abilities to the highest bidder. Olympics=politics. NBA=money. Got it?
