Black is a race not a quantifiable or measurable quality. If you said she is skinnier than Oprah that would make sense. If you said Oprah is richer and more popular that would make sense. If you said she is more vapid than Oprah I could see that being true.

Having read many of your posts I’m very sure we totally disagree on political issues and perceptions on… well probably almost everybody. But in regards Mr/Mrs “something”:

Although the Republican party did start targeting the conservative south in the 50s and 60s. Not that conservative ism is bad, but spouting on about family values and being tough on crime is like saying killing kittens in front of their mother is bad… everyone already agrees with that. But if you take into account the 10th amendment and conservatives general disregard for it I can see where “something” may have been coming from.
The ultra-conservative part of the party is actually quite disturbing. It appears to think that it is both right and legitimate to impose all legislation at the federal level. Despite the construct of our various levels of government specifically disseminating power to the lower levels of government so that they would have more freedom to adjust the laws and social constructs to accomidate the specifics of what their residents want rather than that of someone who lives 1000 miles away who is probably never going to live there.
This is a Union of States that joined to form America, they signed up to a list of requirements for acceptance and assimilated them. After the fact requirements have to be very important to be slotted at that level.
Take gay marriage for example. The state issues the license, it doesn’t come from DC. The requirements that marriage license bureaus have for issuing a license can even vary within a state. Not to mention there is a requirement at the federal level that reduces, from a legal stand point, solemnizing marriages to an expensive optional ritual. Take the Union in Europe or the Union in Africa. It would be unheard of to even field the topic at the EU, … of course it would probably fly right by in the AU. Anyway, the point is that the topic has absolutely no place in front of Congress or the White House and after a little consideration I decided that “something” was possibly trying to say something similar to this.
I will not vote for a black president…however, I will vote for someone who represents me and what I believe who happens to be black. What can’t a person of ethnicity or female gender do in this country that a white, anglo-saxon man can (specifically hindered by the state or Republican party)? If you are going to drop a bomb like that one, don’t fight in generalities, speak on issues. Principals and values really can’t be debated. Issues and instances can.
i dont know if obama will win think abouot it. black people will vote for him cuz hes black, cuz they think if theres “a brotha” in charge they get more rights. but think about this, how many of those porch monkeys can actually vote, maybe like 5% the rest are all in jail, or felons
