Eliminating useless civvis in a combat zone-WIN!!!
Well, I doubt they’re useless….hell even one got his arm blown up while throwing a grenade out of a vehicle.
So I should feel bad that he got his arm blown off?? He was dumb enough to accept the assignment… whereas the soldiers were told to, no option. The fact that he did throw the grenade out does show some brains and innitiative- maybe not so useless?
Men and Women have a choice to join the army though. So you can’t really argue that. Some the best journalism has to come from where its happening.

Sure Thing comes to mind. It wasn’t a good film but he was cute! I actually like some of his newer movies too. Identity was pretty good and that one where he is like a hitman/strip club owner had it’s moments.

haha! fantastic…if there’s one thing that ends up getting the troops killed…its the media…as the soldiers end up having to baby sit them…and if they come under fire…the news crew ends up being the #1 objective to protect…and the soldiers cant do their job…
That’s why you gotta get the news crews that bring P.O.Gie* bait with them. At least then they’re good for something. And as far as babysitting them: As with all things when deployed, I follow self preservation first, all other orders second (this has gotten me in trouble a couple of times as I have no problem cramming my M-4 into someone’s face if I’m able to….they shouldn’t be that close in the first place).
*P.O.G: People Other than Grunt (pronounced poug). According to the infantry there are two types of people in the army: Grunts and People Other than Grunts. P.O.Gie bait is in reference to the major difference in what a group will bring to the field. Where an infantryman is more likely to bring additional ammunition, face paint (my age is showing for those in the know), baby wipes, etc. to a field exercise a P.O.G is more likely to bring a hibachi or some other such item http://failblog.org/2008/07/22/bbq-fail/ , some hamburgers, and a “boombox”.
This is not to imply that ALL units that perform soft skill jobs are combat innefective: I’ve seen units that try to overcompensate for the stereotype by overdoing combat related training. And as a Grunt looking to become a P.O.G when I reenlist, I’m gonna try to avoid those units as much as I can.

They’re not Marines. They’re wearing ACUs, and ACHs with ACU helmet covers.
Marines wear MARPAT and LWHs, with MARPAT helmet covers.
