Hey, money’s a little tight for me too right now, how about you bail me out? No? Oh, that’s right, in Soviet America, socialism is only for big business.
… um … so your alternative is… what? Depression-era bank panics?
If we’re going to do socialism like this, we need to nationalize these companies. If banks and airlines and car companies and farmers get my tax dollars, I want a say in how they are run: no taxation without representation!
And, hell, why not social security? We should be able to tell them what to do, too! I don’t know – maybe that wouldn’t be too bad…
“no taxation without representation”?!?!
Crap, is that still relevant by todays standards!??
So, the only two options in your mind are the government helps big business and nobody else, or a second great depression?
Sounds good to me. I don’t want the government stepping in and taking total control over MY life. I’d rather make my own mistakes, tyvm.
Kalifornia is more and more Soviet all the time.
Great pic.
Though, of course, on Soviet interwebs funny picture laughs at you.
California Uber Alles!
Actually, it’s fairly links…
Don’t banks rob people anyways?
yep banks have always robbed us
Overdraft fees anyone?
The beach boys are spinning in their graves.
You even got the police there to protect and serve the elitists.
Police will protect the rich bastards and beat down the people who lost there money.
So far, nobody has lost any money (well, yes…shareholders have lost a bundle if they bailed out); the bank is now being run by an FDIC conservatorship, and all banking and loan services continue to operate. But this whole mess has given me some sleepless nights because IndyMac holds the mortgage to my house and a considerable (for ME) amount of money in a CD.
BUT I would love to get my retractable claws into the Chicken Littles who created the panic and the $1.5 billion run on the bank. It was all so unnecessary.
PS: my mortgage is NOT a sub-prime deal. It’s just on the only home I will ever own, and I’m still nervous about interest rates maybe going up or an added Balloon Surprise….I’m too old to go out looking for work in today’s job market.
*splat!*
Where’s Andrew Jackson when you need him?
I think he’s wondering if his microphone is on. Oh, wait – ANDREW.
Never mind.
lol?
lol at lg’s comment.
“What is robbing a bank compared with founding a bank?” (Bertold Brecht)
I dont get the joke =(
