  1. lowly grunt says:

    Why is he winking?

    • Ceefax says:

      I dunno, stroke?

      • cincinatus says:

YAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNN…. what a surprise. “McCain is old”.

Sad that uncreative lib types flood this site.

        • Nekopawed says:

They could be conservatives doing it too.

Lib or Conservative he is a tad up there in age. Either side could be doing this.

          • DRH says:

Riiiiiiggggght … dozens of conservatives are converging on this site to make tedious “old” jokes at the expense of their party’s candidate.

Well, at least you realize how un-funny these jokes are.

        • DaftPyramid says:

Because only liberals make fun of old people.

          • DRH says:

… naw, just when it suits them, it seems.

Remember when Kerry was at the top of the ticket? Military service was all-important. Now that it’s Obama, military service means nothing. If the Dems are running an older guy in 2012, suddenly they will tout age and experience.

It’s all convenience with the Dems these days.

            • linox says:

As opposed to Republicans? Wasn’t military service all important to them when it was Dole vs. Clinton? It’s all convenience with any politician, and it always has been. Quit trying to pretend one side is above all that.

              • GMF says:

Linox is right. Too bad the Republican hypocrites here are so dimwitted they can’t
see the big picture — also known as POLITICS.

        • jellybeans says:

It’s like commenting on the blue sky, green grass, old McCain … You do it alot because it is obvious, true and undebatable.

My parents and their friends are around 71ish and while they are wonderful people and very intelligent and healthy for their ages I don’t think they would be up to the stress of running a country.

They can golf 18 but grandkids tire them out in a few hours, imagine the stress of summit meetings, cabinet meetings, long debates, all that travel.

Granted McCain may be in better shape than they are, I have no idea what condition he is in, but even the exceptionally healthy over 70 crowd would have a hard time maintaining the schedule demanded of a world leader.

          • DaftPyramid says:

Not to mention that Presidents traditionally age incredibly quickly in their terms of service, just imagine what he will look and feel like at 75 or 79.

          • Ben says:

“Creepy Grandpa” is a specific suptype of Grandpa… I would say that picture (I don’t think McCain as a whole) is very Creepy Grandpa-ish. I really like my grandparents as well.

          • Sarah says:

McCain was in crap shape running for office at his age. He spent years in a POW camp, no one stays in good health in one of those. If we had elected him it would have either been for one term or Palin would have become president cause he died.

        • Kaitlin says:

          Butthurt more, sugarpants.

        • GenXCub says:

And uncreative elderly republicans still come here and read them and spend their
time whining about kids not getting off their lawns. If you don’t like them,
you don’t have to be here reading them.

  2. LiviuX says:

It’s a chice if he’ll be the big grandpa.

  3. Khaaaaaaaan says:

Picture is ‘meh’, caption is ‘blah’… we can do much better.

    • jellybeans says:

then go do so, we shall await your offering with baited breath

      • lowly grunt says:

What do you plan to use for bait, Jellybean? I prefer crickets, myself.

      • Khaaaaaaaan says:

This has been attempted, numerous times, and apparently ideology gets voted more positively than humor these days.

        …or I’m just not funny/original. Hey, we can’t all be astronauts. ;)

        • Evil Pundit says:

          It’s the ideology.

How many anti-Obama pictures do you see on the front page?

          • markmier says:

            So go make some!

            • Evil Pundit says:

              I’ve made lots.

Most of them don’t even make it to the voting page.

Nothing that is strongly anti-Obama ever gets to the front page.

              • Kinson says:

Same here. I see the stupidest “bush dumm” crap on the vote page, too. Some don’t even have all the text on the picture.

              • Simon says:

                Try being funnier.

Do you think that there’s a reason for Pundit Kitchen to be unrepresentative of the population as a whole, or are you just bitter that most people in the US and the world seem to take Obama seriously but laugh at Bush and McCain?

                • flingdecow says:

Face it Simon, no matter how good our arguments are, they are always going to be believe what they want to believe. Maybe would should just accept that a) Pundit Kitchen is actually just a secret branch oif the Obama campaign and b) Republicans are JUST as funny as liberals, but because of the Pundit Kitchen/Hollywood conspiracy, no-one will ever know…

                • Evil Pundit says:

The latest anti-McCain picture proves that being funny has nothing to do with getting onto the front page.

              • Kaitlin says:

And you’re being a crybaby because majority rules? If it’s such an important issue to you, go advertise to acquaintances that share your taste in macros, so that they might put more votes towards the ones you find more amusing.

    • Trainwreck Chaser says:

Agree, all that really needs to be said.

  4. That guy says:

    HA! Awesome!

  5. Seth says:

What could be the reason for so many anti-Republican jokes and so few anti-Democrat jokes? Perhaps Republicans are inherently funnier. Perhaps there is a vast left wing conspiracy on this site. Or perhaps the VAST MAJORITY of real Americans now hate repuglicans. I mean, c’mon people! Every time you whine about the unfairness of it, you are admitting that you are powerless to do anything about it because you are too small of a minority. So please, whine moar! Your powerlessness amuses us.

    • jellybeans says:

Or their politicians are just funnier lookin?

    • Kinson says:

Or, perhaps, the demographic that visits LoL(whatever) is inherently more left wing than right? Perhaps when most republicans visit this site and see that is filled with anti-right jokes and left wing hugz an kissies they never return.

      • jellybeans says:

I dream of such a utopia!

      • jellybeans says:

All joking aside, I am thinking you are probably right.
I mean how many normal conservative warmongers look at pictures of cute kittehs riding imaginary bikes? Aren’t they all out killing brown people for oil? … ok, maybe some joking wasn’t aside as it were.

        • Simon says:

Of course not. They send poor people with few life choices out to kill brown people for oil and they sit about in America surfing the internet and looking for funny pictures of kittens riding imaginary bicycles.

      • linox says:

Or, perhaps, this is more of the nonsense that right-wingers pulled to try to convince everyone that everything coming out of the media is slanted to the left. Hold up every example that supports your point and claim it is only the tip of the iceberg (on this site usually done by making a “YAWN” comment). Ignore every example contrary to it or dismiss it as a mere fluke or minority representation. Disregard any possible legitimate reason for heavier coverage of one thing or another (like the fact that Republicans have been far more active for the past several years so there’s more material to draw off of for humor). Then paint anyone who tries to bring some rationality to it as either hopelessly naive or working for your enemy. It’s a hell of a system, and great for people who are more interested in winning a contest than in making progress.
But what do I know, I’m clearly a left-wing child who barely knows what planet he’s on since I’m saying this, right?

      • Dick says:

Perhaps it’s because republicans are more apt to be elderly and are less internet-savy.

        Yes, I’m sure that’s it.

      • flingdecow says:

        Most of them anyway….

    • hueydoc says:

Seth! Are you off your medication again?!

  6. flingdecow says:

Jesus! Maybe it’s time for the right wingers to JUST ACCEPT this is quite a left-leaning site (for whatever reason) and shut the f**k up about it? If you don’t like it, find a site more in keeping with your ideology. Maybe you can set up a blog with your own efforts. Stop criticising every other creative effort on this site just because it’s vaguely liberal. It’s annoying and it’s mean.

    • Kinson says:

I will stop criticising other’s creative efforts when they become creative or put effort into them.

      • flingdecow says:

Well it was creative enough to get on the homepage wasn’t it? I’m not saying don’t critisize the captions – I’m talking specifically about comments like ‘Why aren’t there more Obama LOLs? Its a liberal conspriacy!’ Or cincinatus comment from above: ‘YAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNN…. what a surprise. “McCain is old”. Sad that uncreative lib types flood this site.’

There is obviously going to be some repetition of jokes..but so what? we are not stand-up comedians. It’s just for fun. The format of this type of comedy is going to end up being a bit repetetive. But alot of people actually think Mccain is old, and Bush is dumb, so the joke is in the DIFFERENT ways of saying it. No one has described Mccain as ‘America’s creepy Grandpa’ before on this site. And it’s funny. And enough people find it funny for it to be voted on to the homepage. If the joke was too obscure or complex, hardly anyone would get it.

If you dont personally find it funny, just accept you are probably in a minority since it’s on the homepage. Rate it one star or whatever. But please, shut up about it. We all know its quite a lefty site. You are not going to inspire a sudden glut of hilarious right-wing pics by whinging about the left-wing ones. Even if the chzburgers are filtering out these mythical captions because they all are in love with Obama..that’s just tough s**t isn’t it? They aren’t going to change now.

        • flingdecow says:

Did I mention it was on the homepage? ;) LOL. It’s late in the UK.

        • kwijibo says:

Here’s the thing : very few of the people defending the picture seem to find it funny; they merely like that it attacks McCain as old and “creepy”. There really isn’t a joke involved here : just talking a picture and adding an insult. Big yawner!

The issue isn’t right-wing images vs lefty-wing images; it’s funny vs. not funny. It just so happens that the “I will pretend it’s funny cuz it suits me politically” crowd here is from the left. I don’t measure “funny” by political advantage.

          • flingdecow says:

They dont all have to be laugh-out-loud funny though. Its okay if some of them are just clever, or have a ring of truth..

            • Trackwreck Chaser says:

Honestly, I´m here to laugh imbarssingly in a room full of people because what I see is funny enough to do so. Most of these haven´t been to that level, although the last two with military personel have been awesome.

McCain is old, false McCain policies that really don´t mak emuch sense just aren´t funny. I think you´d agree if it was about your candidate and plain and simple just didn´t make sense to you.

      • kwijibo says:

Interesting how the “defenders” of the “humor” in this dull captions never defend them as funny… they just winge about people having the nerve to… comment using the comment feature.

        • linox says:

When the complaint is that it is not funny, people who find it funny respond by saying so. When the complaint is “Oh no, not another attack on a Republican. Why are we so oppressed by these vast left-wing conspiracies!?” then the people who are sick of the kind of whining and spin-doctoring involved in such a complaint are going to complain about the nature of the complaint, and rightly so. If you scroll back up and look at most of the complaints, you’ll see what I’m talking about. Plus, a lot of the complainers have been about this for a long time, so those of us who have seen them before don’t even have to keep reading when we see one of there common expressions like “YAWN!”
In terms of the humor, though, speaking as someone planning to vote for McCain in November, I smiled a bit at this, because the picture does make him look like a creepy grandpa. I don’t get all worked up about it, because anyone having thousands of pictures taken of them will have some that are easy to make fun of (I have a few of myself that could be pretty funny to caption). You’re right, it’s not grand humor, but good gravy, why does every pic need a champion for its humor?

    • eddiepscetti says:

Actually, I think the bitch is there should be more of a balance. I know there have been heaps of submissions about Obama/Hillary/etc that never make it past the voting stage. Yet a lot of the anti-conservative one’s don’t even get voted on but get posted here straight away.

    • Lolnathan says:

Chill out. This post wouldn’t be funny if it were some ancient Democrat either. It’s not about R vs. D, its about funny vs. non-funny.

90% of the stuff on this site simply isn’t funny. There is a liberal bias, yes, but that is only the cause of the problem, not the problem itself.

The moderators choose pro-liberal “lols” regardless of how funny, or not-funny they are, and typically on the lol-sites only about 5% of the submissions are even remotely funny. Unfortunately the moderators here seem to value taking a jab at conservative politicians over actually posting the funny.

That’s to be expected though, the whole concept of a “meme” involves having a certain follower mentality. Its popular to bash conservative political figures right now, so thats what people will do. Its just like during the Clinton stuff, everyone wanted to rag on Clinton and the jokes got so tired. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the Internet is an ideal place for people with big opinions and no real ideas or solutions to run their mouths.

This site is in trouble once Bush is out of office, and Obama steps in. Everyone will be submitting “Lolbamas” becuase the President usually gives everyone the most material and is the most noticeable figure. However, the moderators will not allow it.

How much do you want to bet that even after Bush is out of office, all we’ll see around here are tired old anti-Bush lols?

      • flingdecow says:

The moderators will not allow it? What blinkered little planet are you living on? I’m tired of this epic crotchwafflage.

        • Lolnathan says:

So, you had nothing to contribute and decided to resort to name calling? You belong on Fox News.

          • flingdecow says:

No, I could just see I wasn’t going to get anywhere explaining anything. I wasn’t calling YOU names anyway. I just think the whole ‘ZOMG kunspiracee!’ thing is bollocks.

    • Tom says:

I’m conservative right wing, whatever you want to call it. I just found this site and registered on it because even though I definately don’t agree with everything on it, I thought some of it was pretty funny. I registered and captioned a photo. I did this because I’m not afraid to be disagreed with. Are you suggesting that since I don’t agree with the liberal bend you say this site has I should just leave? Sounds kind of unAmerican, free speech and all that. Isn’t the point of a site like this to share ideas,or is it just to echo what you heard from your favorite media guru? Just wondering.

      • flingdecow says:

No, Im saying if someone is constantly complaining about the liberal bias they should just leave.

        • lolbammy says:

Snicker. Poor baby … can’t handle dissent, can ya?

          • flingdecow says:

Oh we can handle it, but after months of it being every other comment, can you understand how it gets annoying? Especially when many people have clearly pointed out how stupid this conspiracy thing is, but the whining keeps coming back. I think in future Ill just ignore the ‘yawn’ comments, like I ignore dogsh*t on the pavement. it’s pointless engaging.

    • audrey says:

      here here

  7. Trey says:

Maybe liberals are just inherently funnier? Honestly…name some hilarious conservative comedians. I mean, truly hilarious.

Can you think of many outside the Blue Collar guys? And only 2 of them are actually funny. (Ron White & Bill Engvall) And they don’t even seem too conservative.

Name some hilarious left leaning comedians…

Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Chris Rock, Bill Hicks, Lenny Bruce, Lewis Black, and the list goes on…and on…and on…

If you were to say “Oh, that’s just the way things work” I’d have to call BS. It’s very clear Hollywood & the entertainment industry would be totally ok with putting out conservative people if they could make a buck, but usually they just aren’t funny. Witless Protection (the lame ass comedy starring Larry The Cable Guy) made…2 million dollars at the box office (That’s 5 million to go to turn profit)

Head of State (The Lame Ass comedy starring Chris Rock) made 37 million.

Libs are just funnier people. Deal. Stop whining.

    • Kinson says:

Republican actors and comedians tend to not broadcast that they are republican. It doesn’t sit well with the democratic powers that be in hollywood.

      • flingdecow says:

I don’t think that would account for the HUGE lack of funny Rebuplatrons. Liberalism tend to be more about tolerance of different people, and speaking the truth – which lends itself to good comedy. Whereas prejudice, hate-mongering, and being stuck in the McCarthy era, isn’t all that funny.

        • EF-AH-GEE (formerly Tom) says:

That must be why every time a conservative speaker trys to speak at a liberal universitie such as Berkley they are interupted and shouted down by all those tolerant liberals and sometimes forced to flee for their own safety.
I think we have differant definitions of tolerant.

          • flingdecow says:

I haven’t heard of this, but i doubt very much they are shouted down just because they are conservative. More likely what they are saying is some kind of bullshit. I guess it depends on the situation, and what the speaker is saying. But liberals are still ALOT more tolerant than Republicans in general. Nobody is perfect.

          • Trey says:

Freedom to protest my friend. Maybe they got tired of seeing those conservative people protesting everything from Global Warming to Spongebob Sqaurepants?

            • lolbammy says:

Sorry, but “freedom to protest” is not the same as “freedom to shout down”.

Shouting people down takes away the right of the speaker to be heard by those who wish to hear him. It is the opposite of free speech.

          • lolbammy says:

Happens all the time…. and has at least since the Reagan era.

        • Kinson says:

That is a pretty prejudice, hate mongering, and stuck in the Jim Crow era thing to say.

        • lolbammy says:

The fact that you think only people who agree with you politically can be funny speaks volumes about you.

          • Trey says:

            Did I say that? No.

I said that mostly liberals are funnier.

Then I challenged you to name some conservative funny people.

I know a couple…just a couple…of funny conservative people. And I don’t know if I’d even call them conservative according to their views, they just say they are.

    • kwijibo says:

Sooooo……. boring, repetitive “LOLs” are evidence that “liberals are inherently funny”? Or because you can name some “liberal” comedians, that must make this dullness funny? Good luck with that.

    • Trackwreck Chaser says:

really? Honestly? Dude hollywood is rediculous. Plain and simple. I just…cna´t even eget into the basics about how much hollywood is useless and stupid.

  8. Ryan says:

Not capable of governing and not capable and defending themselves from mean ol’ liberal bullies on the intertubes. That still leaves me wondering how they manage to take themselves seriously?

  9. Ceefax says:

Republicans cry about it whenever someone jokes about how old McCain is because they know that 80 might be an OK age for a Pope but not for a President.

  10. GMF says:

If pointing out McCain’s age is so terrible, imagine how much the Repugs are going to whine when people start pointing out that their candidate is mentally unstable, has anger management issues and his wife is an ex-junkie thief. So much fodder…so little time.

  11. Eyes says:

i personally think that he looks like the creepy old man from poltergeist 2. his wife looks like she used to be a stripper, and as a couple, they make me want to vomit. but, whatever floats your boat i suppose.

  12. Eyes says:

oh and p.s. this site is to make jokes and laugh about all kinds of political crap, so why are you getting so offended that someone made a joke about mccain, or anyone else on here for that matter. grow up. it’s called comic relief!
