I believe in responsible speech. I think its sill to do things such as protest at a soliders funeral, or hate speech against someone. In this example, everyday you´ve complained about bush. You´ve said your peace, whats the point in complaining more? You may have free speech but most of you don´t know the responsbility of whens a good time to speak and whens a good time to wait your turn.

i know this was months ago but a) why don’t you just not look at her stuff every day if you don’t like it and b) responsible speech to the constitution writers probably wouldn’t entail one citizen putting down another for trying to get the word out to people about a “lame duck” president. The only way that would be true would be if you don’t have any savings in the US and you aren’t paid in dollars. Have you noticed how much less the dollar is worth relative to other currencies (and international commodities such as oil and gold) compared with this time last year or compared with the day Clinton left office?
That’s a DIRECT result of Bush’s twin deficits (the budget deficit and the trade deficit).

Looking at statistics I’m not seeing much better numbers, of unemployment, under Clinton than under Bush. Just becaue you think Clinton was a great boon to the country does not make it so.

Clinton inherited 7.5% unemployment from Bush I and brought the unemployment rate down EVERY YEAR he was in office.
Bush II inherited 4.0% unemployment from Clinton and has been unable to do any good. Current unemployment stands at 5.5%. While 1.5% doesn’t sound like much, we’re talking about ~ 1.5 million people who want jobs and can’t find one. That is not good for America.
And the current unemployment numbers don’t factor in those who have reached the point where they’ve stopped looking and can no longer file for unemployment benefits…
Or have settled for lower paying jobs than the ones they lost because that’s all they can find.
Or that they’re all here in Michigan.
Or are just lazy assholes taking advantage of unemployment benefits.

The left needs a good myth to pull the people together. There is no good proof showing global warming. I have seen some good proof disproving it though. It is just propaganda. It is the lefts new war. They even use classic phrasing such as “the debate is over” when speaking of it to trick people such as yourself into believe that it is absolute truth. Guess what, just because someone says the debate is over doesn’t mean they win the debate. It also does not mean the debate is actually over.

OMG. I’m not from the USA, not involved in your politics. But global warming is a very real, very serious problem. What does it tell you when the vast majority of the scientific community believes it to be true? Or maybe scientists don’t base their judgments on facts!

I will concede that we need alternative fuel sources, but don’t start blaming Globa Warming on the use of fossil fuels, when in fact, not just cars, but industries in general are much cleaner then they were 30 years ago.

I base what I believe in fact. I know not everything is propaganda, like I said not ’somebody’, however, I do believe that global warming is. Open your eyes! Have you even looked in to the facts that dispute global warming or have you just bought into it because so many of your leaders say that it is true.
As someone who, in fact, does study environmental science, I’ve actually spent more of my time looking at the disputing evidence. As I’m finding employmentby studying it, I’d better be right, right? So I studied a few of the more popular global warming “debunking” facts.
It’s all bullshit. Solar flares, benefits from increased carbon, the time delay, the “it exists but not that much” arguments – these are all based in logical fallacy.
Solar activity, on record, has been occuring at intervals that stretch much farther back than the heating of the earth has, with no similar upheaval.
The benefits of increased carbon are short term – plants will grow faster until their roots turn over, and they begin to regulate their absorption again.
The ocean time delay, and the release of carbon from the water, is a positive feedback cycle. Yes, the ocean’s release of carbon will contribute to the warmth of the earth, but the spark was the greater increase of warmth.
What people need to realize is that there is a chain reaction going on. The human cause seems small at first, but you must realize that it is not an ecologically evolved process. The Earth puts out and absorbs the same amount of carbon in an equilibrium. Any increase from us, by burning fuels, is more than the Earth essentially had planned for. That means that any degree of warming will affect more potent things, like the ice that covers the methane laced soil near the arctic, which when uncovered adds an even more potent greenhouse gas to the atmosphere.
I must express the level of complexity of all of these interactions. Every time you hear someone “debunk” global warming, they have more often than not failed to make one connection or another. Environmental science and history is a long and intensive process. If you build a bridge without factoring in wind, you have a disaster. The same holds true in global warming.
Why do you claim the left does what everyone knows the right is doing? The right wing is the one using fear to try to control people, not the left. Global warming is a real issue, terrorism is an issue that affects almost no one. You are more likely to be killed by lightning than terrorists, and that’s not because the current administration is doing anything real about terrorism.
The right needs crisis to pull the wool over people’s eyes, to make them afraid, so they desire a strong, fascist hand to protect them. Look at the fascism the Bush regime has brought to this country. Fascism is the collusion of government and business in a climate of religious nationalism. That is what we have now, thanks to Bush.
I claim it because that is what the left has done since Wilson’s era. The left used World War I and II as a tool to further their power and reach. The left used the depression they caused to futher their engorged administration. They even used the assassination of JFK by a communist to show how evil the right was and how LBJ would do anything in his power to keep the right from spreading their hate. He caused the current welfare state we are stuck in now, the one the left feels can only be ended by throwing MORE money at a failed system.
Fear and crisis are a tool of left. It has been this way since the beginning of the socialist and fascist (yes fascism is a product of the left not right) systems of government in Mussolini’s time. The left both took and gave ideas from communist, socialist, and fascist states. This was never in dispute until after Hilter showed the ugly side of fascism.
It was in this time shortly after WWII that the left decided to seperate itself from the word fascism (not the ideals) and try to push it upon the right. What you now think is fascism is not. This only goes to show how deeply the lefts propaganda has seeped into your being.
I hope someday, Seth, that you will begin to think for yourself again. Perhaps you can even bring your party back to what it was before Wilson and others corrupted it into the progressivist movement it is now. There is no utopia to be brought. No heaven on earth. The god-state is a myth that will never come to being. Government should not be a religion. Let it go.
I will try not to act like an idiot, but I can’t promise anything. Obama is the only presidential nominee who is endorsed by a terrorist group (Hamas). I am not making that up. Also, what is wrong with using fear if there is a real and legitimate reason to be afraid? I would like all the things you mention above too, but those things wont help if we start seeing attacks in our country again.

The Internet’s greatest power is its ability to make light of anything and everything without fear of reprecussion. It is the highest duty of anyone with freedom of speech to use it to knock us out of our complacency and troubled standards of decency.

An Oklahoma church canceled a controversial gun giveaway for teenagers at a weekend youth conference.
Windsor Hills Baptist had planned to give away a semiautomatic assault rifle until one of the event’s organizers was unable to attend.
The church’s youth pastor, Bob Ross, said it’s a way of trying to encourage young people to attend the event. The church expected hundreds of teenagers from as far away as Canada.
“We have 21 hours of preaching and teaching throughout the week,” Ross said.
A video on the church Web site shows the shooting competition from last year’s conference. A gun giveaway was part of the event last year. This year, organizers included it in their marketing.
