I talked to one of the moderators and he said if the site leans left it’s because of the users – all of the content is user-submitted and user-voted.
They then take the highest voted pictures and put them on the front page. Sometimes they skip some of the higher voted pics because they’ve already been used recently, they’re in LOLspeak, etc.

The system won’t let you vote on your own picture so even though you don’t see it, it’s there.
If you go through the voting pages you’ll find a complete lack of negatively captioned Obama photos that A) Are not in LOLspeak, B) Don’t contain either the words “nigger,” or C) Make any sense at all.
You’ll also find a complete lack of captioned photos that cast any of the Republicans in a positive light. For all the people bitching about how “left” Pundit Kitchen is, those same people don’t participate in the system by making positively captioned photos of their leaders.

I know where the LOLbuilder page is, and where the voting page is.
I’ve made and submitted right LOLs. Of these, only one has ever appeared on the voting page. I’ve had contact with other people whose LOLs making fun of Obama have never reached the voting stage.
The management is filtering out LOLs that attack Obama before the users can even vote on them.
It might be interesting to try some positive captions for Republicans, as you suggest — and see if those get filtered out too.

Yushchenko’s pockmarks were caused by an assassination attempt where someone laced his soup with dioxin. IIRC he had the largest bodily concentration of dioxin of anyone in recorded history and still survived.
If anyone has noticed- most the comments on this page made by non-liberals are rational, calm, and make sense. Liberal comments are emotional, rude and pointless. Liberals tell people to shut up, that they are paranoid, etc. This is because liberals know nothing of the economy or how the world works- they think with their feelings and not their minds, they have no respect for other peoples viewpoints and when they can’t form an intelligent argument they just start with the insults. For instance- when Jane, above, replied to my earlier comment, she basically said I was stupid for not knowing what paranoia had to do with my comment, but she never explained what she meant- just started spewing insults.
