They were a purpose build vehicle that serves the purpose rather well. unfortunatly lots of people with more money that brains decided they also had a purpose for one. And if you realy think all soccer moms are republican you’re not too bright. Lets just keep going splitting ourselves in half as far as we can over everything the media on both sides of any issue can push us and not pay any attention to the fact that both parties who are in power are equally wrong in their own dirrection, and are both benifiting from the polirization of the populous so we can’t come to a common groud and actualy end the degrigation of ourselves as a nation they are both pushing us towards.

I don’t think we should count the Hummer out just yet. After all, the sort of people who buy Hummers also tend to be the sort of people who leave the car on for a half hour in the morning before they get in just so it can warm up. Plus, dealers are offering huge incentives for people to buy Hummers to try to turn around slow sales. Things like 0% financing and $7,000 or $8,000 cash back.

I didn’t know there was a Hummer on the market that actually had a body with some style. The ones I see around here (dropping kids off at school, picking them up, going 3 blocks to the park, shopping, etc.) all have the boxy body with the teeny Mafia-hit-wagon windows. All with the ugly colors…Bug Yellow, Ca-ca Brindle, etc.

BUT no matter how attractive they might make them, I still would not want to be seen in one.

I always lumped the Hummer in with the copious amounts of fabric worn by the nobility in the middle ages – an expensive, wasteful status symbol. Unfortunately, we have a lot of people thinking that they NEED things like this just to be perceived as middle class. I blame people’s weak will and herd mentality for the sales of this impractical, inefficient abomination. Oh, and the media too. But people’s weakness firstly.
