Hey all,
Now I am certainly not trying to disrespect the fine and outstanding work this man did. I appreciate his fairness and ability (and commitment) to asking the tough questions, no matter who the guest. But epic legacy? I can only hope so. What made him different was his ability to maintain a fair approach to every guest on his show even though he was personally liberal. I fear that most of the journalists in the country are applauding that one of the last white knights of journalism is gone. Not being an expert in journalism, I throw the question out to all of you, in an era when the severe majority of news sources are liberal (CNN, MSNBC, etc) or conservative (FNC), will any legacy, let alone an Epic Legacy, be allowed?
He was what journalism should be. Never did he bring his personal politics into the picture. He was amazing at what he did and will be missed.
Never did he bring his personal politics into the picture.
Seriously? His show was the Obama hour, so obviously biased. I voted for Obama, but it was just too much.
Wait what?
I loved “Meet the Press” As I really couldn’t tell which side he favored. He did ask fair and important questions. I miss him as I miss the former chair of ABC World News. He brought an honesty to the table, that I truly will miss.
agreed
There are no words on how to describe Tim Russert. He was 1 in a million people.
agreed, tho, really one in a hundred million……….he was just the best.
Not so much a LOL as the truth.
Tim Russert will be greatly missed. A wonderful journalist and someone who made politics interesting to someone who hates politics.
Tim Russert. Pure, straight-up, high-octane admiration for that man. I seriously hope he will inspire those whom he mentored to become the sort of even-handed, wickedly well-prepared and -informed, tough but kindhearted journalist that he was. I’ll miss him a lot.
The last of the great newsmen. He will be missed. Hopefully, the next generation will follow his lead and not others like Hannity, Olberman, or Limbaugh.
Funny…Limbaugh loves this guy. Do your homework.
RedWhiteAndBoom, Limbaugh loving the guy is totally irrelevant to Herr Kub’s comment that Limbaugh is a poor “journalist.”
Try to stay on topic next time!
how is this funny exactly?
It isn’t. This is a tribute to Tim Russert, a great man who died of a heart attack recently. He was the host of Meet the Press and a regular contributor to the Today Show.
This site doesn’t have to use humor to get your attention.
p.s. Why, God? Why couldn’t you take Rush Limbaugh instead?
So many Sundays, so many incredible interviews, so much learning, so sad the loss.
Very well put.
Epic fellatio. A TV talking head drops dead; the rest of the talking heads fawn over him because they’d like the same treatment when they kick off; and the sheeple go along with it.
I didn’t know Russert, I didn’t know his work, but I know this: in a year’s time, you’ll be able to say his name and draw blank looks. Epic legacy indeed.
exartly. lets just repeat what we hear on TV. the emotions on TV are more important than my own.
for instance:
“Hi dad, I’ve been meaning to tell you, I enjoy fellating other men.”
“hmmm….”
“this just in: Tim Russert died!!!”
“BOO HOO! oh the humanity!”
so you know nothing about this person or his work, but you are certain that he’ll be forgotten. hmmm. since some people are remembered, perhaps, just this once, you will be proven wrong?
AMEN
He will be missed and just when we needed
him the most
How come nobody cared about this guy till he dropped dead?
cause this is america
Love him or hate him, Election Night 08 will NOT be the same without him.
I think he brought a kinder side to politics. He will be missed, obama will be the next pres. Jessie Jackson needs to watch his racist tounge, tuck his tail and go home where he belongs. No one in their right frame of mind wants to hear any more from him.
He was one of the best interviewers on network TV, but that’s not saying a whole lot. You folks who think he was just so totally unbiased and couldn’t figure out which side he leaned to are either naive or lying to yourselves. To prove the point, check out how he got started in his career: it was as a political flunky to extreme the left-wing (I doubt if you whippersnappers remember Daniel Patrick Moynihan, but mabe you’ve heard of Mario Cuomo), not as a holy unbiased impartial news guy.
That said, again, he was one of the best that are out there today. He at least seemed to give an effort to hitting his interviewees from several different sides of an issue. Seemed like a real family guy too. RIP.
Man…I miss him
RIP Tim.
epic failure!
