…and give us all spell-checkers.
…but only for signs.
… not for lolz.
Spell-checker for signs works…
sad when your card-board knows you are wrong…
Chek yur spellin befur ya’ll mak yur signes. Hilarious!
See previous lol, dumbing down action almost complete
not just almsot complete, pretty damn complete
Well, if she hadn’t effed up her sign, I’d agree with her 100%!
Oh my… that’s…. ahhh… yeah… well, it’s offically embarrassing!
Learn Cherokee, then we’ll talk. (Apparently, when Europeans do it, it’s not illegal immigration.)
But then, the Cherokee weren’t providing free education, healthcare, and penal services on the scale the current residents do.
Healthcare from current residents? You live in Canada?
Not meaning to get too serious, but, yes, several county hospitals here in Georgia are facing bankruptcy because of services provided to non-residents. Several school systems are going broke because they’ve had to add numerous teachers who are fluent in Spanish…but maybe Georgia is exceptional.
Kinda sounds like the BS Colorado is starting to see.
So many non-points made in that comment…
Bravo, Victoria!
Dude, anyone is providing better education and health care then southern seaboard states. And as for southern penal services, yeah, real benefit to the world there.
Yep, and the quality declines rapidly as the hospital emergency rooms and public schools are swamped by people who can’t pay for their visits and require a teacher who speaks Spanish.
I’m just sayin’.
And the chronic underfunding due to efforts to privatize everything since the eighties have nothing to do with it?
Make English America’s official Language. Deport this moron.
Epic fail.
Actually, Matchew, the immigrants ARE paying for the above-mentioned services.
As much as you’d like to think that American citizens are the only tax-payers, you are sorely wrong. What’s they 8% they add on at restaurants and grocery stores, an added profit for the shop owners? What about the built-in 18-cent gas tax that goes to pay for roads and bridges? What about property taxes (that go directly to fund schools) that are included in rent prices by landlords?
Illegals immigrants put in to tax resources far more than they take out– they’ll never file for social security or pensions like the average American, for fear of outing their legal status.
That’s great that they can’t skip by the law in terms of taxes that no one can avoid. Forgive me for not commending people who do what they cannot avoid.
Bet you think they’re heroic for breaking our laws to send money out of our economy and into another one.
At least she put the apostrophe in the right place.
I saw a protest sign like this here in Canada once! A woman was against proposed “litteracy” tests for students. Some people need these kinds of tests!

Maybe she should learn to use English before she makes signs protesting other languages in America… Would be FAR more affective.
Effective. With an E.
Just sayin’.
mabbe siyn jes a floting lol speek capshun, no? nawt so funnie that stoopid immigrahnts frum englund speek langyge of grate britin, y no immigrahnts frum mecksicoh nawt ahlowed 2 speek mecksicahn (taht wuz a lol, ihn cahse u no pik up ohn it)
they pay taxes they cant avoid but they dont pay: medical, property taxes, insurance, car insurance, the price they should pay period.
and they damn sure dont pay for food. yes there are some immigrants that do what they’re supposed to, but take a look at california and texas. none of them are legal or do their part for the country. they just sit there making babies and waiting on the welfare checks.
ooooooo, makin’ babies, where do I sign up?
Yep, those damned Quest cards! And heck if they pay taxes, as noted above, they don’t pay shit else, as noted more closely above. Some day I’d like to walk into a Target and not have to LOOK for the English signs.
I have plenty of Mexican-American friends who got here the legal way, believe it or not, and amazingly they all agree that this whole illegal thing is horribly out of control– for many reasons including the legal residents are getting ragged on as well, from those who are unknowing.
As an African American, it is a sad relief to see another group being demonized. Only a few years ago, it was us who were accused of having too many illegitimate babies, being on welfare, and generally being a drag on the good ol’ US of A. Now people hate illegal immigrants (and anyone who speaks Spanish, even if they are legal) and it’s anyone from the Middle East, Pakistan, etc. that are getting profiled by the police.
At least, no one thinks African Americans are sneaking into the country illegally (we got here fair and square - on slave ships, and before many of your ancestors) and no one thinks we’re trying to blow up buildings. Of course, unarmed black men are still getting shot to death by police, so maybe things really haven’t improved.
PS I wonder how many Yankees in the 19th century wanted to keep the ancestors of some of the people protesting now out of the country?
I’m in favor of anyone who comes here legally - whatever skin color, language of origin, shoe size, or ice cream flavor preference (except Rocky Road; can’t stand those Rocky Road people).
I am confused though - are you asking if the 19th century Yankees wanted to keep out the ancestors of hippies?
No, s/he’s asking how many of the people opposed to immigration now are the descendants of immigrants themselves. In the 19th century, many people spread xenophobic lies about Italians, Irish and Jews. In fact, there are many striking parallels between how those groups were treated and received and how the Mexicans today are received.
Ok, I’m slow, but I understand now. The parallel gets a little bumpy, though, at the point of legality. My ancestors were discriminated against, certainly, but they came here through Ellis Island and following the law of the land.
The folks on the left side of the equation keep saying that the ‘bigots are anti-immigrant’. There may be a few, but the majority (of us bigots) are pro-immigrant; we’re just against illegal immigration. There is a huge difference, despite what the activists try to say to the contrary.
Such serious talk because of a little misspelling…
it doesn’t even go as far back as the 19th century. What was the name of that ship full of Jewish refugees trying to flee Nazi Germany, and America and Canada refused to take them? They were forced to go back to Europe and most of them died in the camps.
“Irish Need Not Apply”
in that case, you’ll love this one:

Boy, I’ll bet her neck was red when she realized what she’d written.
She probably still doesn’t.
If only English was America’s “offical” language, she might have gotten it right. :B
the double lines under the misspelled word is the actual editing symbol to mark a misspelling. Question is, did she know that?
My ancestors didn’t come through ellis island…. we came with the british to fight the colonials!
Sorry, they lost, we stayed. Anyway, I agree that legals get more than their fair share of descrimination. I was in the army, and I have a friend who’s of middle eastern descent. He was born in the us, is islamic, and speaks english and arabic. After 9/11, you wouldn’t believe the flak he caught because of how he looks. Did I care? No. I still don’t, even after losing my fiance and having my brother permanently crippled from fighting in Iraq.
I do believe we need to do something about the illegals coming in from mexico. I work and pay taxes. Why can’t they? I work as a translator at work; guess what language? It pisses me off that all those bleeding hearts want to leagalize the million or so illegals already here. Yeah that sends a message- come here illegally, and we’ll let you stay! Lock em up, dump them in a desert, send them to work camps. Word gets out that life isn’t peachy for those who come, they’ll stop coming.
Work camps, are you serious???
Your comment definitely echoes the caption and the sign. Americans tend to be overly proud and extremely narcissistic, especially with regards to foreigners. Oddly the entire planet thinks Americans are pompous assholes, with low IQs fat asses and a disposable income. The truth of it is; none of us give a shit enough about immigrants to do anything but bitch on a lol site and suggest stupid, half assed ideas like, work camps. Great job dipshit!
