amidala was not that bad. at least she saw right through palpatine’s lies. most of them anyway.
I’m gonna geek out here… but Amidala pretty much said, “I can’t play senator, you do it, Jar-Jar,” who then goes, “Palpy be bigsa Emperor now!” Granted, at Palpatine’s urging, but she should still have better sense tan to appoint him as a stand-in.
