I believe they might actually be laughing cause she still thinks she can win.

Fat Boy – Do the math – he can’t win either on popular votes, and he doesn’t stand a chance in the election against a centrist Republican. But if a sure loser getting the nomination is a moral victory, please, be smug.

  2. Fat Boy says:

Math? You mean like the math that claims Clinton has no chance of winning the primary if Obama isn’t caught with, I believe the phrase is, “a live boy or a dead girl.” The Clinton campaigns been pushing this “electability”thing hard, but when it comes down to it, Hillary isn’t electable.

Clinton can win big in the few states that still run a decent machine, but is gonna suck it hard in anything with a serious contest. But you know what? Those big dem states are going blue anyway. Think New York and California are really going to vote for McCain? Not really.
She trails Obama amongst undecideds and unaffiliated voters all over the place.
She’s trailing McCain in a number of states that are close that Obama is beating McCain in.
She’s thoroughly damaged in the black community because of the racially charged nature a number of her surrogates attacks. They won’t vote McCain, but they won’t be too pressed to go out and vote for Hillary either. And if you think that won’t matter in Michigan, Ohio, and other key states, you’re delusional.
She’s lost the netroots a long time ago, which is still a small but increasingly influential part of the Party.
Her biggest draw “Remember the last Clinton era,” which is a rallying cry for the DLC now, also makes a lot of people remember the shenanigans of the last Clinton era. Not just Monicagate, which was rubbish, but also NAFTA, etc.
She has a long track record of trying to appease everyone by being a supposed “centrist” which can be quickly spun as “Flip-flipper” by the Right. Hell, they can use the same ads they used on our last “Electable” candidate. How’d that work out for us? Oh yeah, horrible.
Even the right media knows Clinton’s their best bet, if you haven’t noticed that pundits that spent the last 16 years calling her everything from a commie to a lesbian now feel that she is the best candidate for the Dems. And if you think their being sincere, then wow, it’s amazing as well as inspirational that you’re able to function so well with your obvious mental handicaps. I applaud you and your courage.
The only really significant threat is that the remnants of racist white democrats, and by now those are pretty few, would rather vote for McCain and watch the final dismantling of their unions, than vote for a black dude, who they probably think is a muslim. Those dudes are so few and far in between that they might matter for a penn primary, but probably not as much when it comes down to the electoral college.
Her only real chance of becoming president is to hurt Obama so bad he loses to McCain and then hope the DLC can actually hand her the slot at the 2012 convention, while stemming off the defections that this sort of move is sure to crate in the party.

Finally, a point on your rhetoric. You offer no math, so I offer none back what you do offer from a rhetorical standpoint is a false illusion of scientific precision, claiming to be following math, when what you’re really following is the increasingly bitter (yes bitter) Clinton narrative. Please don’t try to bring that weak sauce up in here and expect it to work. You don’t even bother to bring the asterisk-laden polls the Clinton campaign has been trying to push around. And even those numbers have to be interpreted in a particular manner for Clinton to have a chance.

    • matchew says:

I don’t think she’s electible, and I don’t think she has a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the nomination.

As for my math skills – between today and the end of the primary season, unless there is some cataclysmic event that pushes one of the two out of contention, neither will reach the magic number without a push from the supers. If he reaches the magic number tomorrow morning, it will be because of the supers, those appointed because the democratic leadership did not trust the people in the party to make wise choices.

      How ‘Democratic’ is that?

      • Fat Boy says:

The Superdelegates are some leftover smoke-filled,back-room bullshit from the Machine era. I totally agree. It’s one of the things the Democratic party really needs to fix and one of the few areas that the Republicans are really ahead on, if only by having a lot fewer of them.

That doesn’t really have much to do with your math skills regarding the actual election of the president though. Which I do believe was the original topic. So math skills improving, reading retention skills, needs work.

wow, this is a really funny caption. great thoughts.
