However, in regards to your comment:
In our time and social mindset, he may not seem all that “iconic”. But in previous generations it was enough to know that he was an ordinary man that did extrodinary things. Perhaps his publicist should have had mre foresight into the future to give him a look that could take into account the failing educational as well as social system.
The fact of knowing who he was and what he did should be enough to make him an icon.

There’s the dollar bill, Mount Rushmore, crossing the Delaware, young Washington in the British army, and this one, just to name a few. And besides, (though I personally think he was the best president ever), is there anything about his appearence that is really iconic?
