And for good reason too! No one can seem to pick an image of Washington and make it iconic.
There’s the dollar bill, Mount Rushmore, crossing the Delaware, young Washington in the British army, and this one, just to name a few. And besides, (though I personally think he was the best president ever), is there anything about his appearence that is really iconic?

However, in regards to your comment:
In our time and social mindset, he may not seem all that “iconic”. But in previous generations it was enough to know that he was an ordinary man that did extrodinary things. Perhaps his publicist should have had mre foresight into the future to give him a look that could take into account the failing educational as well as social system.
The fact of knowing who he was and what he did should be enough to make him an icon.

Getting stupid? It seems that we started that way, and just become dumber every generation. But, come on, not knowing who GEORGE F***IN’ WASHINGTON is!?! That is messed up! What are you really teaching our children, school teachers?
Putting the sadness of the truth of the image aside… mcdonalds isnt destroying the health of people each year. Fatasses who, by their own choice, put it in their mouths and eat are destroying their OWN health. Don’t blame others for your own faults. And lol at walmart hate? QQ that they are a huge company? So we should shut them down because they are successful? this ain’t China.
I know 20 year olds who can’t name the first president. That is truly sad.
