Hmmmmm, the recaption sorta blurs that boundary between lolcats and white people’s take on ebonics in a way that makes it much more problematic, but also calls into question the lolspeak phenomenon and it’s potential ties to media infantilization of African Americans. Or are we not supposed to talk about that on here?

The title “I Can Haz Dictionary” was relevant to the article we posted drawing attention to the idiocy of the KK’s defense teams trying to find loopholes in how to “interpret” the word perjury - as if the American public people don’t understand what the word means (duh): lying on oath. The “Purrrjury” was a play on words also keeping in theme of the LOL cats. Thanks for the kind words!

Sophie, I’m right there with you. Except…

It cost the city $8.4 million, it’s a total embarrassment to the city as a whole, 2 police men lost their jobs because they were investigating a party at the mayoral mansion that would have lead to the discovery of his affair and his mis-use of city funds/property/employees (he had police officers acting as guards outside the mansion), and a stripper who danced at said party (yep, it was that kind of party) *mysteriously* ended up getting shot just after it came out that the party happened (and she told her pastor and others that she feared for her life) and was being investigated.

so…yeah, it sort of does matter.

Given the news… it’s time to resurrect this lol
